Render error with h.264 and Image sequence

Hi,
I have simple animation I want to render out. Problem is when I export it as h.264, error happens on one frame like you can see here.
Whith image sequence, Motion will render skipping frames here and there so some part are just fine, but some part are not.
Also some frame has same green error just like with h.264. I'm rendering as PNG.
I also tested rendering as Prores HQ and that one came just fine. Weird isn't it?!?
Any idea what might cause this?
I need h.264 for preview purpose and final result as image sequence...
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for response. Sorry, but I can not share project file since it's client work.
Anyway, I think latest 5.0.3 update might be issue. My Mac setup is OSX 10.7.3 on Macbook Pro (2010) with i7 and GeForce GT 330M.
I have also older Macbook (I think it's 2008 model with only version of unibody Macbook) which has also same OSX 10.7.3, but Motion 5.0.2. Tested with very same project and rendered out without any problem!
So, is there any way to reinstall one step older version of Motion after installing 5.0.3???

  • After Effects CC Render Errors with RED footage and ProRes 4444 proxies

Working on an 8 Core, 2008 Mac Pro with 16GB of RAM running Mountain Lion.
I just upgraded to After Effects CC and I'm having a whole bunch of errors ...
-- the 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported
    -- error getting package info for file "..." ( 3 :: 164 )
    -- Error (4) reading frame from file "..." ( 86 :: 2 )
I'm trying to make ProRes 4444 proxies from RED files (sometimes as big as 4K), which will eventually end up in a 1920x1080 project. I'll make a 4444 proxy, work on it all day with no problems, then when I try to render (or save a RAM preview) any one of the previous errors will show up.
My projects seemed to work just fine fine in AE CS6, and I've worked with RED footage in AE before with little issue. I've completly restarted my system, re-installed everything, worked off an external drive, worked on my internal (software) RAID, rendered to local and external hard drives, adjusted my multiprocesser render settings (on and off), cleared the cache ... nothing is fixing it.
Does anybody else have any ideas? Or insight. Or anything?!
    Thanks for your time,
    Eliot

I'm working on a MacbookPro, Early 2013, OS X 10.8.4, and I'm having the same exact error:
However instead of using RED footage, I'm using a 3rd party plugin called Element 3D and Optical Flares from VideoCopilet.net.
I'm not sure if the bug is related, I'm just wondering if anyone else has any idea on how to fix this problem. I have a fresh install of CC so I can't downgrade to CS6.
Another error popped up during multiple trys in export:
In case the old file was actually corrupted, I checked all my backups that worked perfectly fine with CS6 in the past, and I get the same error when I copy them over to my hard drive on my mac.
    My current setup is:
Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
I really don't want to recreate this entire file from scratch. That would be a lot of hours wasted... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • OCR with WebCenter Content and Imaging

    Hi,
I'm searching for some information about OCR with webcenter content and imaging.
I've seen that there are two solutions :
    - WebCenter Capture
    - Webcenter Forms Recognition
But I can't find if any of that product use lexical post-correction of OCR results. Is anyone have this information?
    Thanks,
    David

    David:
Both products will use print (vs handwritten) character recognition to identify "tokens" from the image of a document with text. Capture usage focuses mainly on zonal recognition of information - what I would call structured forms processing. Forms Recognition is for information capture from semi-structured documents - say invoices, where you know that many fields are present, but their location differs from example to example. It can use patterns, text locators, etc to find the field. Both benenfit when there exists a reference DB of acceptable values, but that is not a requirement.
Lexical correction (as I understand it to mean) is not a feature of either. They are not going to try to validate extracted tokens based upon language analysis. I would try to use them to extract all of the tokens and then add some tool to do lexical analysis. You could do that as a separate, post OCR process, or try to see if you can fit it into an FR post-extraction EP.
Might I ask what the business problem you are trying to solve is?

The optical drive has probably failed. It's a fairly common thing with these slim SuperDrives. Does it read any discs you put into it? You can try resetting the SMC and pram but I'll be surprised if it helps.
    To reset the SMC
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on
    Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Codec error with h.264

I am trying to export a slide show sequence in FCP 4.5 as a quicktime movie. trying different codecs and file sizes to see what works for best res without jittering the computer. when I export with h.264 odec, i just get "codec error" and nothing happens. I have quicktime 7.0.4 installed.
    anyone seen this? any ideas?
and if you have any thoughts on a great codec to export a slide show as a self-contained quicktime movie at a HIGHER res than 720x480 which doesn't slow down the computer, let me know. i have tried at 1280x864 with h.263, mpeg4 and sorensen 3 and they all bog down on my pb 1.25
    thanks, all.

and...when I render the sequence with h.264, it works fine, when I export the sequence as a .mov file with current settings (incl h.264) it works fine, when I export as a .mov file with CUSTOM settings and compression set to h.264, I get "codec error".

  • Rend:Error when attempting to send images

I'm using iChat 4.0.2, communicating with my friend running 3.1.8.
When I try to send him an image through direct connect, he receives this message:
"An undefined AIM error has occurred. The server message was: Rend:Error"
On my end, things look fine. Any idea what might be going on here?
    Thanks in advance!

It sounds like he has not got port 5190 open on the UDP protocol that iChat uses for File Sending/Direct Chats
This needs to be allowed in the Tiger Firewall if it is On and in any routing device that specifies ports.
Sometimes you need to delete com.apple.ichat.plist and restart iChat to sort this.

  • FCS and image sequences (TGA...) : how works the proxy creation?

    Hello,
I would like to know how work FCS with image sequences (TGA, TIFF sequences...) for proxy creation.
For example, the image sequences are created by 3D workstation at the speed of one frame per second.
Does FCS create a proxy each time the folder is checked? The old proxy is delated?
    Thank you for your answer

Jim is right. You can't replace a clip with an image sequence.
If you are rendering your comps from one system, follow Jim's sage advice.
But, in the cases when I do a multi-system network 3d render, there is
no way for all systems to write to the same Uncompressed AVI file...
so rendering to an image sequence is the only option.
    You say:
...for speed reasons -  converting them to lower res quicktime files
and using those to edit in Premiere Pro.
You might consider converting your sequences to both a low-res proxy for editing,
and also convert to full-res lossless codec AVI files at the same time for swapping out later.

  • Error/Crash while dragging movieclip image sequence to stage

While trying to drag a movie clip to the stage containing a jpg sequence of 360 images at 1024x768 I get an error (or sometimes it just crashes) saying "Could not open one or more scenes probably because of low memory."  I am using a dual quad core mac pro with 48gb of ram, with no other programs open, so this seems unlikely.  This is in Flash CS5 (11.0.2.489) on Mac OS 10.7.4.  No other symbols or files are in the library and nothing else is on the stage.  I've tried it with multiple different image sequences (same resolution, same count), and I always have the same problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe adding rhe movieclip with code
in the libary (F11) add a name in AS Linkage (some like Sequence)
    then type the code (F9)
    var sequence:Sequence=new Sequence();
    addChild(sequence);

  • Support for RAW Video and Image Sequences

Being a stills photographer who moved into video some years back, I'm very interested in the direction Lightroom is going with regards to video support. I haven't tried it yet but I wondered if LR4 supports Red R3D files? And would it perhaps support other future RAW video formats from the likes of Canon and Sony? It would seem like the perfect application, perhaps intergrating with Premiere in a similar way to RedCine with FCP. Be great to be able to log footage, orginize it into bins and do basic colour correction in LR, edit the project in Premiere and re-touch in After Effects.
Another task LR would seem ideally suited to is combining image sequences into timelapse video. Shooting timelapse as an image sequence on a DSLR is pretty much standard practice these days; and I've used LR to colour correct, crop and scale my sequences (before fitting them together in Quicktime) for years now. It would be fantastic to be able to preview the clip and export the video (as DPX, ProRes or DNxHD) from within Lightroom.
These are obviously fairly long term wishes. In the short term though, the video features are pretty much useless to me without support for exporting ProRes and DNxHD files. With this LR becomes a powerful asset manager that could be used to collect together footage from multiple sources/codecs and transcode it all for editing. As mentioned in a previous thred, XML support would make it even more useful in this context. There is definitly a gap in the market for an application than can handle this kind of task well.
With other manufactures floundering or neglecting their professional user base, Adobe would seem poised to take the video post crown. I wonder if Lightroom could be part of the takeover?

As I understand it Andy, its intention is to remain a photographers program, not a videographers program.  The basic video features are available for lightweight management of videos coming from digital cameras, but it's not going too much further than that at this point in time.  Of course that may change in the future, but we'll all have to wait and see on that one.

  • Problem with Nokia Camera and Smart Sequence

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with Nokia Camera and the Smart Sequence mode.
Basically, if you take a picture using nokia camera, and view it in your camera roll, it usually says, underneath the pic "open in nokia camera".
Well, if I take a pic using the Smart Sequence mode, it just doesn't say "open in nokia camera" so, to use the functions of smart sequence (best shot, motion focus, etc), I have to open nokia camera, go to settings and tap the "Find photos and videos shot with nokia camera" option.
Does anyone has the same problem? Anybody solved it?
I already tried reinstalling nokia camera, but that didn't help.
I'm running Nokia Black on my 925.
    Thanks everyone!

    Hi,
I had the same problem with my 1020. It did get fixed with the last update to Nokia camera.
However, IIRC, it didn't just happen right away. When browsing the camera roll I'm pretty sure that the "open with Nokia camera" text wasn't there.
Slightly disappointed I opened the (Nokia) camera anyway and was going to test the smart sequence again. I noticed the only precious pic I'd taken using this actually appeared top left of the screen.
I opened it and I had all the smart sequence editing options again - that we're missing previous. Made a new picture and saved it.
Now when in camera roll the text shows below the image and all is good.
This probably doesn't help much except that it didn't seem to fix automatically.
I work @Nokia so I can ask around a bit to see if this is a known / common issue (not that I know any developers)

  • Time-lapse and Image Sequence issue (Possibly also Frame-Rate)

So I'm in the process of making a time-lapse, and have batch edited and exported (in jpeg) 627 images.  My sequence settings are 23.976fps 1920x1080 (1080p).  Doing some quick math, 627 images at 24 frames a second should give me a little over 26 seconds.  However, I'm only getting a 20 second clip.  The settings on the clip are 29.97fps and 5184x3456 (I scale it down and use some keyframes to add some motion.)  So my question is is there a way to import an image sequence as 24 fps, rather than the default 30 that the clip is imported in?  Even when I put it the clip on the timeline and click "Keep sequence settings" it cuts it down to 501 frames, and I still only get 20 seconds worth of clip.   Thank you for your answers!

I am in PAL land so I not that familiar with ntsc but I think the difference has to do with the 23.97.
If you make a custom sequence you can set that to 24 fps exact.
Import the jpegs as an image sequence. this means select the first image, check image sequence at the bottom of the window and hit OK.
Also in the preferences under Media set the Indeterminate Media Timebase to 24.

  • Record stream with H.264 and PCMU: is it supported?

I tried to record a stream which is published with H.264 codec and the telephony (PCMU) codec with a Flash Player 11+ client. The stream plays fine live but when I try to record it, I get the following error on the status of the stream: NetStream.Record.NoAccess. The file is created on disk but has only 21 KB, never more, never less. This is my log:
10:21:49.550  info   Stream (record_Aaj3g/u28_T32l87h.f4v) status: NetStream.Data.Start (level: undefined, length: 0 sec.)

10:21:59.966  info   Stream (record_Aaj3g/u28_T32l87h.f4v) status: NetStream.Record.Stop (level: status, length: 0 sec.)
I digged the problem a little and found that I also have an error in the Windows Event Viewer from AMSCore:
    Error from libmp4.dll:
Received an audio packet of unknown type..
I even tried to publish the stream in "record" mode instead of "live" directly from the client to see if it does the same thing. It does, I get exactly the same result.
I searched on the web hoping to find something about the problem but without any result. The only reference I see is a table in the AMS documentation listing the supported file types and codecs but there is no mention of the PCMU/PCMA codecs. Here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/adobemediaserver/techoverview/WS07865d390fac8e1f-4c43d6e71321e c235dd-7fff.2.3.html#WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d119ed944a1a-7fe7.2.3
In last resort, I tried to publish the file as RAW. It seems to work but I can hardly use this format since it is only usable by Flash Player I think. I cannot convert or reuse the file on another platform.
By the way, I had the same result on FMS 3.5.3 and AMS 5.0.1
Any idea? Is this normal or what?

Update: I discovered several other recordings which had 21 kb in size, also f4v but with only sound, nellymoser. I did not get any error in logs or event viewer which makes it tough to debug! What could cause such a thing? I understand that there is no data recorded in the stream file, except metadata probably. I tried to convert such a file with ffmpeg and got an error saying there is no stream data found in file.
The method we use for publishing/recording is the following: the stream is published from the client in live mode (no record at all). On the server side, I create a new Stream and attach the publishing stream to it. Then I record the new stream. It seems to be working great in most cases but sometimes, for unknown reasons, it does not work.
    Anybody, an idea?

  • Graphic problems/errors with Mainstage 3 and MBP (15'' 2011)

    Hi,
    I bought Mainstage 3 for my MBP (15'' 2011).
When i click con "perform" i get graphic errors.
I have the same issue with the old Mainstage version since Mountain Lion.
Also a fresh installation didn't help.
I think i'm not the only one with this issue!
I don't know how to report a bug?
    Perhaps someone can help me.
(and  I'm probably not the only one (see feedback in Apple Store) If you also have this problem, please add a comment with your configuration (Hardware, Software))
    /forgotten ebi
So, here an example how it looks like when i click on "perform":

Same configuration, same problem. BUT I found a workaround.
Mainstage has this error with the AMD video card and/or a second monitor connected.
With a little app (http://gfx.io)  it's possible to really force the MBPro to use the Intel Graphics card.
This will work only with the internal screen, not with a second screen connected.
And sometimes you need to restart, to really make the Intel video card free.
This works fine...In the meantime of a fix.
