Render Question, Need Pro HELP!!!

Hi, been ripping video off DVDs for an animatic i am cutting. Been using MPEG Streamclip and exporting the Quicktimes using 'Apple Motion JPEG A' codec. Now when i import them into Final Cut, i have to render them all!!! this will take years (there are quite a few!). I have tried setting my sequence setting to Motion JPEG A, but it still requires rendering!
PLEASE HELP! i am in dire need of a way to bypass rendering them all before i work with them.

Cool tip I recently found out:
1. Right click on the clip in the Browser, and select 'Make Multiclip Sequence.' Hit OK in the next box.
2. Delete the selected folder that's created in the Browser cos you dont need it and work off the new 'Multiclip Sequence' thats been created for you!

Extending isight NEED PRO HELP PLAESE!!! Haven't found answer anywhere yet

ok, I know you guys can do this... c'mon- please help.
I am trying to run close to 50-60 feet of firewire over to where my LCD TV is located to power my isight camera from my Mac Mini and am having problems.
It was suggested that I buy (5) "IEEE-1394a Extension Cables" (says on package can be cascaded up to 10 of these) to help power the isight at the end of this long run. I purchased these cables, and daisy chained them together, ending with the run to my camera, yet it didn't seem to work. I'd get my green light on my cam for a second, then it would freeze my ichat program.
I'd really like to be able to do this yet have no idea how to make this work. My "media Center" is located at one end of this room, so it's where the computer lives already.
LAtest horrible update- now my isight doesn't want to work after plugging in those repeaters. ARGGGG- Green light comes on for a sec, then shuts off. I'll deal with tying to figure that out next. I hope someone out there has some good ideas.
I'm hoping someone knows how to fix this problem.

As for the fact that you are now having difficulty with your Firewire iSight, connect your iSight directly to your Mac and use the suggestions in How to test your (external) iSight to ensure it is functional. If you continue to have problems, the suggestions on that page will help you troubleshoot to find the source of your problem and fix anything that is user-correctable. There are no user-serviceable parts in iSight, so if you cannot get it working, you will need help from an Apple Service Technician.

The best overall art styles plugin for PS is probably AlienSkin's SnapArt. I'd say their filters are a cut above Photoshop's which are old and have never been updated.

I have to translate this pdf file to spanish. i tryed the following " advanced edition -> edit text" didn't work... maybe they scanned the file? tryed: "document -> ocr text recognition"... didn't work either.

Have you tried the TOOLS>Advanced Editing>Touchup Text Tool? You will have to have the fonts on your system to do the edit. You might be able to change the font to something else on your system if needed. The file is all text (in boxes) and the touchup text tool should do the job. I was able to change the fonts to Arial (not all of them, there are a few that are still in the old font that are numbers). I have posted the result at http://wadavis.ece.vt.edu/CO2 ophir lenses.pdf. (you may have to replace the spaces with %20)

PL SQL Question - Need some help

I would like to write a loop in PLSQL to run a 225 different queries on a table.
That is i have 225 stop worded queries to run, and would like to write a procedure that could automate this, when it has run the query i would also like for it to output the results into a table (e.g. Results1). The queries are numbered 1 to 225.
I have tried to write some code that gives an idea of what i would like to do, but as i have only been using PLSQL for 1 week i am still a newbie. Any help would be much appreciated!!

Question need contrast help

my ipod mini contrast is so maxed out but still my screen is blank. It still plays and lights up but i just cant see anything. I tried Restoring, restarting, everything but nothing seems to work. I was wondering if i am able to take it to my local APPLE STORE to get them to fix it but I used my warrenty already when my first ipod ran outta battery, and this malfunctioning contrast ipod mini was their replacement. The ipod was acting up when i first recieved it but not this severe, It did not get so back till I was unable to see anything on the screen till 90 days after i recieved it, which voids the exchange/purchase warrenty.....
what should i do?

Your warranty is either one year from your original purchase date or 90 days from when you received the replacement. Whichever provides you a longer warranty period.

General Render question. Please help

The other day I videotaped a performance and captured the footage to my iMac G5. I was able to export as a QT file relatively quickly. But the audio was poor so I deleted the audio tracks and imported an .aif file (recorded separately from a mixer feed to a tape deck). Now when I export as a QT file is takes a LONG time. Why is that? What format was the original audio track and can I convert the new audio track so it renders quickly? Thanks very much, this has been a real pain.

Only you can say what the format of the original was, as you are sitting in front of your computer...
Select your audio on the timeline and press command(apple)+9 to bring up Item properties... go to the Format tab... at the bottom is the audio Rate and Format info...
Then do the same for the new clean audio that you brought in... and cross reference with your sequence settings...
then report back.

Quick question: need some help with a lens effect filter

Would anyone know the name of this effect... it's almost like a hard pulsating vignette that you'd see in old 70's home films
I wanted keep the video as clean as possible and use a plug-in or method to re-create that effect in post-production....

Having done 8mm film transfers for over 20 years, I can say that I've NEVER seen the frame of the film jump like that vignette does. To me, it makes it look very fake. The rest of the effect looks OK; the image jitter, the light flicker, etc, but the vignette should be stable.

We need to get Function Area in one of our report. Is function area master data or transaction data? Which table stores this field? To get this field, which fields should be the primary keys while reading in the table (like cost center or some other fields)?

You can refer to table EKKO and field WKURS. This field in purchase order header table stores the exchange rate for the GR made against this Purchase order.

If you got the question mark and you do not see any partition to install OS X to, it is not good.
Close the OS X installer by pressing the red button at the top left corner of the Install OS X window, and open Disk Utility. Then, look at the left sidebar and tell me if you see your hard drive. You should see something like this:
Do not worry if you do not see Macintosh HD or if the option with an arrow shows a different name. This is normal.
If you see it, choose it, go to the Erase tab and erase the drive. Finally, close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X. You will lose everything if you do not have a backup.
If you do not see the drive, it is damaged and it has to be replaced. You can replace the hard drive of a MacBook Pro without voiding the warranty, and any 2'5" SATA hard drive is valid. If you are not an experienced user or you do not want to go inside the MacBook, take it to an Apple Store or reseller.

In serious need of help for huge Premiere Pro Picture glitch. Confounded beyond belief.

Gents and ladies, I have been at this for two days and am in desperate need of help. Right now my editing in Premiere Pro is completely stalled due to a bizzare picture glitch. I am 100% stuck and unable to edit.
When I add a picture to my bin, it's ok. Then I add a second and it seems fine. But any and all pictures I add after that show up as the first picture. Never mind that the name of the file appears correct.
The picture itself, both the thumbnail and the picture in the timeline, etc. are just the first picture.
I have rebooted,restarted, started new projects with new settings, cleared the Premiere Pro cache... NOTHING works.
Video is not a problem. Only pictures. And I am now dead in the water as a result.
Look at this screenshot. See how the other than the second picture they are all the same? Well, they shouldn't be. But they are. And I am stuck and unable to edit at all as a result.
WTH is happening here?
I have Premiere Pro 5 on a PC from Adobe Production Premium.
One issue I have had recently is in the middle of editing Premiere Pro will start conforming video that has already been conformed prior.

I guess I should expect a snarky answer from someone named "Snarky McSnarkster." You are being quite rude. It is not helpful to tell someone to fix a glitch by buying new software. That is not a solution. I could just uninstall and re-install, but I am not going to risk losing all of my current projects if something goes wrong. That is like a thermonuclear option. And spending a grand on new software is insane when I don't need it. The software has been fantastic since I bought it. But glitches happen and so I have been in this forum before and always found a solution via some helpful experts.
It is also absurd to call me disinterested when I have engaged with everyone here and answered all of their questions. Just because I have tried most of what has been suggested and explained as such does not make me the bad guy.
As for Ann Bens' question: We have seen this issue in the past and re-save was the solution. Are these images RGB?
Yes, most are RGB. Some I have tried are CMYK. I have tried jpegs, tiffs, bitmaps, png. I am completely clueless as to how this is happening.
I am about to try opening Photoshop, opening a bunch of pictures and savings them to a new HD, then starting a brand new project.

Need QT help/ questions

I've been using macs for a while, but need some help with qt7pro. These are really basic questions I'm sure, but I haven't used QT in a long time, other than watching a trailer or clicking on something a friend has sent.
Whenever I try to open a QT mov, or doc, iTunes opens to play whatever trailer, slideshow, etc. is this a settings problem for me or is QT no longer a stand alone app?
I have installed the QT Pro 7 key, but QT player opens.
Often when I click on someone else's posted QT link, I get a page in my browser - Safari, CAmino, with the QT Q with a ?.
It seems like in QT6, I always had the independent QT app launch, and I haven't seen that with QT7.

Many of the new trailers and the new iPod (.m4v) format are designed to use iTunes instead of the QuickTime Player.
If the file is on your computer you can use the Get Info window to change the default "Open With" app. If you Control-Click (right click) on the file you can choose QuickTime from the Open With pop-up menu.
