Render to YouTube
Almost all my projects, I upload dozens of works in progress for clients viewing in the private mode. for versions premire elements had a render and upload one step. Now Sony Vegas Pro has this feature. why do i need the speedbumps premire affords in uploading to youtube. If some want options, fine. but I want a quick freeway to the tube to approve changes. not to show off my compression prowess. And as the best settings change for youtube, adobe can silently adapt the expresslane settings. So why doesnt pp have it?
Valid Points all. But my main purpose would be to transmit privately works in progress to commercial clients. And many clients no use the platform embeded on their sites for video to save their sertvers bandwidth. as far as Anns anting to view the file before uploading, a good idea but time consuming. for me, the failure came with the you tube recompression, many of which fail anyway. so it wastes my time creating a good file, then have you tube mess it up. if watching the file on you tube and it looks ok, I send it to the client. very little of my youtube use is "public". I use it for what its not intended for, and dont really use it for social media. Ill take Johns suggestion and copy this message to the wish forum. Thanks and all the best Ann and John.

Best Codec for Digital Hi8 SD Widescreen render to Youtube
I shoot material on a Digital Hi8 camcorder in widescreen mode and can't seem to find a reasonable codec to render to for Youtube uploads that fill the screen.
When I render at a 720x480 resolution and upload to Youtube I get letter and pillar boxing in the resulting Youtube. Many of my videos are over 10 or 15 minutes long and even though I have the ability to upload over 15 minute videos to my account, Elements will often give me a warning and not allow me to upload anything over 10 minutes long using the direct to Youtube "share" function.
I've tried various .mpg and .wmv settings and have basically settled on 1280x720 as the rendered video resolution, but not only does this take a long time to render and upload as they become huge files at this resolution, but it also seems to be a waste and potential image degradation issue as it's blowing up the original video, but this is the only resolution it seems that fills up the Youtube window once uploaded.
I also tend to try to up my audio codec too since a lot of my videos are music related and like to keep the audio quality up too.
Any suggestions??Yes, Digital8 I guess would be the more accurate and correct term for the format... I do set my project settings for DV SD Widscreen which I assume is 720x480 and confirmed with the details of clips I import when I check them in Explorer.
But when I render out to Windows Media (I've had problems rendering out as Quicktime before - fluttering of video, sync problems) so I've relied on mpg or windows media for the time being - when I render out as 720x480 and then upload to youtube, I get letterboxing and pillarboxing. Only when I expand the video to 1280x720 do I end up with a fully filled youtube viewing window. (And even then I am still getting a little black above and below the video)
I can also improve the audio quality this way going with a windows 9.2 lossless codec which I like. Downside with all this is huge file sizes, long renders, and long upload times.
I will try these settings that you provided, but won't 640x480 give me 4x3 squished video since my sources is 16x9?? Thanks for the help guys and community!
From the Share tab, choose Computer and then QuickTime/MOV. Choose the DV preset and then click the Advanced button.
From the settings window, do the following:

Safari unable to render some YouTube pages
I have Safari 5.1.2.
Safari is suddenly unable to render some pages over at YouTube. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCBBv9LVGmc. Safari seems to start loading the page, then starts all over, and then starts all over ... and then finally I get this message: "Safari can't display this webpage. Safari has repeatedly encountered an error ..." I also get the same problem and message when I go to this page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBrsM_WlfV8.
This does not happen with every YouTube page. Just some.
I have closed and reopened Safari. I have cleared the cache. Same problem. I have also uninstalled the Click to Flash extension. Same problem. Curiously, I do not have a problem with the page when I use my Camino browser.
Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any solutions?
TIA.Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account, or is system-wide. Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select “Help” from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Any application you run will behave as if you were running it for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
As Guest, launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?

Premiere Elements 10 won't allow rendering long Youtube videos but Youtube will except them.
Does anyone know how to disable the error that Premiere Elements gives you if you try to render a Youtube video longer than 10 or 15 minutes? My account on Youtube allows me to put up long videos (I currently have a 23 minute video I rendered with Pinnacle). I don't think it is the job of the software to stop you from doing something that is possible. It should give you a warning but you should be able to override it. Does anyone know how to get around this other than use a different preset? Most all the other presets create a much bigger lower quality file or render in a format not supported by youtube. ADOBE CAN YOU FIX THIS!
Welcome to the forum.
As Steve points out, that type of account, and its expanded duration, did not exist, when the current version of Premiere Elements was developed. Adobe went with what was available then. The expanded accounts are fairly new.
I also agree with Steve that the "fix" is to just Export/Share to the proper YouTube settings, within the parameters of your expanded account, and then just manually upload it.
My guess is that PrE 11 WILL handle the expanded accounts, but then if YouTube later expands the parameters more, the same thing will happen.
Good luck,

Composition Render Getting Stuck
I'm having trouble accomplishing a full resolution render in AE. Originally I tried exporting through AME, and even on low settings it was telling me to expect at least 180 hours to render. Within AE, whether its H.264 or PNG, if I have the output setting on full resolution I never make it very far past 45-48 seconds in the export before it becomes bogged down and slows almost to a halt. Several times now I've let it run up to 8 hours long and haven't seen anything beyond 48 seconds rendered of my 4 minute project. Often it'll cruise through the first 30 seconds at a good speed, but not much beyond that.
Within AE I'm able to knock it down to 1/4 resolution and get an MPEG2 to finish exporting in under an hour. But obviously 1/4 resolution isn't going to yield me the professional product I want. The project is just under 4 minutes long and I'm trying to make a high quality render for youtube.
My source media is:
1920x1080 (1.0), 24 fps, Progressive
48000 Hz, Stereo
My export settings that I want are pretty much the youtube HD preset:
NTSC 1280x720, 24 fps, Progressive
AAC, 128 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
VBR, 2 Pass, Target 8.00, Max 9.00 (profile High, level 4.1)
(I've also tried CBR @ .6 and that still clunks out past 30 seconds)
Hardware:
Intel Core2 6600 @ 2.4GHz
4GHz RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 @ 2784 MB
Effects used:
This is my best guess at the hangup. I have 155 AE elements. Those 155 break down into:
69 motion trackers
2 solid layers (a slight color burn and slight vignette)
1 adjustment layer with 3 effects
2 sequences imported through the Premiere dynamic link including the motion tracking, a mask, 3 effects (including keylight, a simple choker and a simple wire removal), and a single audio track
77 jpgs (each with 1 camera blur effect)
4 short mp4 video tracks each between 3-3.2 MBI stopped the jpeg sequence rendering. Turned out like all of the others. Ran for over 16 hours and only got 53 seconds into the composition.
Here's some screen shots. The first is just a basic breakdown - the null objects with the tracking info continue all the way up to 1. The jpgs/mp4 clips continue all of the way down to the bottom. The middle is two dynamically linked sequences from premiere pro 5.5. There's a solid yellow color burn above it at 8% opacity, an adjustment layer with curves, unsharp mask, and noise HLS, and a black solid vignette at 5% opacity.
This shot highlights the biggest JPG and mp4 transform details.
This last one highlights how I approached the tracking information. Each shot had its own tracker. A jpg is loaded and parented to the null object with the appropriate tracking information. Highlighted is 75 (IMG_2087.jpg) being parented to 69 (Tracking).
As for the jpg and mp4 dimensions... looking them up now.
The mp4's are 320 x 240 and scaled sometimes up to near 1000%
The smaller pictures (IMG_2087-92) are at 3648 x 2736 and the big one I use for any shot with a big pan (bigcenter) is 7608 x 2736. My composition settings are 1920 x 1080. Sounds like a bad match! And I've got 77 of these! -
I can't export or render in adobe premiere!! HELP HELP!!
I Can't export anything at all.
The reason I couldn't export was my video layer was H264 and my lower third was a nested animation codec as well as my end graphic. I exported movies without lower third and then composited them in after effects for my final render to youtube. see here: MAR1 1 - YouTube

We have probably all heard about Youtube discontinueing the use of an old API which will render the Youtube app on the ATV2 useless.
However Youtube will still work on the ATV3, why doesn't Apple simply update the youtube app for the ATV2?Send some feedback to:
https://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html
AppleTV2 is a good few years old now but they stopped offering software updates last year from memory.
Appreciate your frustration but I think we'll see this a lot with electronic devices in coming years.
My Sony BluRay can no longer access certain online services as the old APIs have changed for one reason or another. -
A problem with my After Effects CS6
Hi there,
I'm triying to render a video in HD quality (1280x1080) for YouTube, but when I'm rendering adobe says and error massage to me. It says:
If someone can help me with this explaining how to solve my problem I'll be very glad.
PD: Sorry for my english. And thanks to all who helps.HD for YouTube is 1920 X 1080 or 1280 X 720. You should stick with the square pixel presets.
We don't know enough about your composition and we know nothing about how you set up the render. Generally it's better to render for YouTube using the Adobe Media Encoder. You'll get better results for the MPEG compression required for the web. Tell us more and maybe we can help. There are too many variables to give us any idea what happened without knowing more. -
OS Crash when rendering project
When I am rendering a project the OS crashes. It's not a blue screen. It actually just disappears. Then entire machine just shuts off.
The event viewer shows Event ID 41 (see event information below). This is event it s new to the log.
Repro Steps:
- Copy any MTS file from my camera to the desktop (Canon VIXIA HF R21)
- add it to the timeline
- Render the file (render to youtube or locally as an avi)
- The render never completes. It crashes. The machine just turns off. (I was trying to use PRE to create a DV-AVI to edit)
- It seems to fail at a specific step in the process. Just not sure there is a log someplace for the render.
Additional info.
If I play any MTS file in the time line it flows nicely for about 20-30 seconds. then the video gets jumpy.
I understand the minimum system requiremetns for HD editing is 4GB Ram. I see that I have 2GB.
Question?
Is this a problem that I could fix by throwing money at? (obviously that answer is usually yes, but I mean simply adding memory) I would hate to buy an additional 2-4 GB's of RAM only to find out that was not the problem.
It really feels like a step in the process is writing outside a buffer. The OS just shuts down at that point. It's not a reboot. It just shuts off. I have to manually restart the machine.

John ...I find that Merlot makes all my video look better.
I went to Fry's and picked up a $19 heatsink. It has the machine up and running. The kids are "Happily" doing their homework again.
I'm now looking for a new machine for editing. I'll read through some of the posts and see where I'll end up. Looks like an i9 9xx proc with 6-8 GB of RAM. and two HDD's (OS and Data). An industrial HVAC system to keep the entire thing cool.
GPU? I'm sure it's important, I'd try to leverage that processor if I could. But, PRE doesn't appear to have any settings, but I'm probably just missing something.
I'll dig around those articles and try to pull someting together.

Youtube.com website not rendering (CSS requests are not working), and videos not accessable. This is not related to any plugin issues, such as Flash, etc. The youtube.com main page renders like an experimental HTML document, with no style-sheet info. I've attached screen images to show what it looks like.
I found one other similiar situation, in Arch-Linux, where the problem turned out to be a DNS configuration issue. I have tried many DNS configurations, and confirm I can get to every other website, and they seem to render ok. I can even watch videos on other websites, if I enable the Flash plugin. I have removed and re-installed Firefox at least three times, as I have it working correctly on several other machines (LInux and Windows ). The problem machine runs Windows XP, SP3, and is an older HP box. Note that all other websites seem to render correctly, and videos are watchable. It appears to be related to i.ytimg.com CSS (cascading style sheet) access just not working, but only for Youtube. Any ideas? Three detailed screen captures are provided below. I tried removing the firewall restrictions, made no difference. I also did a detailed scan for virus issues and malware, but no evidence of any found. I'm stymied. Any suggestions appreciated.
One issue might be the recent TOR browser bundle, which I have installed on the machine. It works fine, and renders Youtube.com, but videos are slow. TOR documentation and technical reports assert that TOR-browser does not interact
with existing browsers (it is Firefox 31.xx, I think.) TOR does establish proxy settings, and I have confirmed the Ver. 34 non-TOR Firefox is configured to not use any proxy setting.
I am running out of ideas here. This behaviour is strange. Any suggestions how I can detail debug Firefox in operation as it does this broken rendering? The error even affects earlier versions of Firefox.*** SOLVED *** !!!
Got it!
I have spent *days* on this, because it just bugged me so much!
FOund it by searching and reading all the Mozilla FIrefox support forums.
Problem was an old hard-coded fix that I put into my HOSTS file, on my Windows XP, SP3 machine. Specifically, I had experienced hang issues with a site called "i.ytimg.com", which I believe is the static cache for Google/Youtube stuff. I tracked this error down to failures of security certificates, but confirmed my security cert store was isometric between my machine cluster (they were all the damn same!)
So, I had put two lines in the HOSTS file, to hard-code an IP address so that Google-youtube pages would not hang up waiting for "i.ytimg.com"
Well, of course, Google/Youtube is now using different locations, or akami servers or some damn thing...
The fix just involved removing these two hard-coded lines from my HOSTS file. I just commented the old fix out, and now everything works.
<pre>
# --- two lines added to fix i.ytimg.com hang problem
# 74.125.162.39 static.cache.l.google.com s.ytimg.com
# 74.125.162.39 static.cache.l.google.com i.ytimg.com
</pre>
(The # symbol is used to make a comment in hosts file... )
On Windows XP, XP3, the "hosts" file is typically located in:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
If you are having goofy problems with some youtube/google webpages
not rendering, or generating SSL (bad_certificate) errors, check your
"hosts" file, and ensure no ip redirection has been slotted in there
from a while back.
Hope this helps others...

YouTube Video: Do you recommend use maximum render quality?
YouTube Video: Do you recommend use maximum render quality?
Is it worth the wait?
Do you use it for YouTube videos?
How much longer does it take to render / export?
Twice as long or ?
Just looking for a general comparison in time based on with and without.
I know it depends on variables.
I'm already in the process at 21%. (15 mins.)
Just curious for the future.
Thanks.Hi,
You can use the "Maximum Render Quality" whenever you are scaling down the resolution from larger frame size to smaller frame size while exporting.
It requires more RAM during export & should be used whenever maximum quality output is required. However the export process may be slower than the normal export.
Thanks. -
I am trying to render a project for youtube. I have uploaded screenshots of my render settings, which were recommended by other users as I am using the trial and dont know if I want to pay for this program. (The Advanced Settings for Audio has bitrate checked) It rendered with a mp4 ending but youtube says it isnt recognized. Is this normal or is something wrong with my settings?
Use the preset it already has for YouTube, not a custom one. You will see it if you scroll down the box, pick out for example YouTube HD 1080p. If you're in 720P then pick that one.
Another thing would be to try to not get an .mp4. Select quicktime on export. -
Render Settings for Exporting 4k 60fps to Youtube
I have been playing around with my new adobe cc 2014 and i gotta say i love it!
the only problem is when uploading video in 4k to youtube it will only process in 4k if its 30fps max lock or less.
if i upload 4k in 60fps it only goes to 1080p 60fps max. if you use google chrome.
My question is how and what settings have worked for you to upload 4k in 60fps?Well i have seen many videos in 4k 60fps turns out its something to do with vp9 encoded files. so i encoded one in 4k 60fps and uploaded still only went to 60fps in 1080 and didnt not process up to 4k. so how can i get this done?

The sound is ADR. Originally the voice was in camera but there was too much wind/ocean noise. Later, the voice was re-recorded indoors with same Canon HV20 camera but with an external $500 Sennheiser mic and a separate purchased ocean track was added.
I never listened to it with headphones. I also didn't notice that although the voice is:
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
with headphones I only hear it in one ear and, in Premiere, the track with the ADR voice recording shows 1 single soundwave(although it's in a stereo track) as opposed to the 2 soundwaves the purchased ocean wave track has.
I must have to change some setting on the camera or within Premiere because the voice should be heard in both ears.
Any thoughts, before I investigate, as to why the ADR with a external mic is "stereo" but heard in only one ear? -
I can render out the same video (same quality) in both PS CS5 and PS CS6, and in CS6 the mov file size will be about 10X bigger.
How can I get CS6 to render out a smaller file size mov?
examples (random ACS comertial/video from youtube)
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4135293/videos/att/ACS_cs6.mov
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4135293/videos/att/ACS_cs5.movunless im missing something here
cs5 has more options avalable for rendering mov then cs6, so in a way cs5 is more advanced
on the highest settings cs5 is able to render a smaller file size with the same quality render
I see that cs6 has mp4 available from media encoder, but i feel like its a step backwards since most of these videos still have to go though Media Encoder
... also Media Encoder doesn't have mov renders as an option
the reason why this is such a huge issue is that pptx files strictly take mov as a preferred video file, the whole adv industry runs on pptx presentations
cs5 - more options smaller files
