RENDER VIDEO is extremely slow

When select File/Render Video the Dialog box is extremely slow. It might take 5+ minutes for the dialog box to appear. When trying to change any settings it might take another 5+ minutes for PS to think. Just spinning cursor and no action.  I checked the task Manager, PS is taking only 10-12% of CPU time and only 274 MB of memory. When working with big PS files it would take all allowable memory: 10GB
System info:
Windows 8
Intel i7 quad CPU
16GB memory
PS CC 2014.1
Is there a PS settings/Preferences for Video?

Just joking: PS is trying to make you become aware of something like "Geez, this is no task for PS. Video editing and rendering belongs to After Effects or Premiere. PS is totally overloaded...shutdown...malfunction...help!"
Seriously, depending on what you want to render, you can expect to wait very long. You probably want to render a video of a 3D object rotating, but even AE is better for 3D rendering than Photoshop.

  • All videos load extremely slow

I have the Break app and the YouTube app and all videos load extremely slow on my ipod touch 5g. It makes it not worth trying to load any videos. I'm currently at work and the wireless here is limited to 1mb. But I have my ipod touch 3g sitting right next to me and it loads at the expected speed (based on the bandwidth cap here). Is the video quality increased automatically, sucking more bandwidth? I can't find any settings to change the quality though. This makes viewing videos not even worth trying.
I'm going to do some tests tonight when I get home which has a 8mbps average download for wired so my wireless won't be limited at all.
Anyone else experiencing any slowness isssues with videos?

Internet videos are becoming more bloated all the time.
Many things can affect it though.

  • Video sharing extremely slow over network

Hi Everyone, I've had a quick search through the forums to try and see if anyone has been having the same problems with me when trying to share videos (music videos, tv shows, movies etc) over a network. In itunes 7.5 I used to have no problems sharing my music or videos, now it seems like the videos are extremely slow to stream or simply won't stream at all The library shows up and music streams perfectly, but videos just seem to take forever to load, if they even load at all! As you can imagine this is a little annoying, especially if I want to sit in my theatre room with my mac mini and watch a movie streamed from my macbook pro. I've tried changing the network on my mac mini from its usual cabled network connection to using the airport, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Has anyone else suffered with similar issues, and if so, is there any way to resolve them?
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards,
    Oliver

You already made that point. The issue is that is not helpful if you want to use Front Row and/or a Mac as a media centre. Your workaround is fine but it is klunky. The one suggested of downgrading to QT 7.3.1 is elegant but very slow as unless you can get Pacifist to work (which I could not) it means an archive and reinstall of Leopard, and downloading all the patches again with the crucial exception of QuickTime. The good news is that Leopard does this much, much better than any previous Mac OS X and all your settings and even third party preferences should work fine. The 7.3.1 installer is still available online of you Google "QuickTime 7.3.1 Leopard". This will work perfectly unless you are renting movies.
So, the choice is klunky, or an hour or so of re-installing.

  • Full screen Flash video is extremely slow

I have a 2010 27" iMac with an ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics card. Full screen Flash video (e.g., Hulu) is extremely slow and choppy on it (4-5 frames per second). Full screen Quicktime or HTML5 video is fine. On my previous iMac (2008, 24", NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS), full screen Flash video is smooth as silk. I realize my current video card is low- to mid-range, but should that really matter? I'm not sure if this is a video card issue, or something else. Here's a list of other things I've tried:
    Other web browsers
Uninstalled and reinstalled the current version Flash
Uninstalled and reinstalled an older version of Flash
    Installed Shockwave
    Disabled hardware acceleration
Reinstalled Mac OS X Snow Leopard
As much as Apple wants to distance itself from Flash, I would be really shocked if a modern iMac was incapable of doing what a 3-year old iMac could do effortlessly. Anyone else have any ideas, or do I just need to upgrade my video card?

  • Videos are extremely slow when trying to view them

Here is the situation. I have been posting course material for over a year now, and everything had been working fine. Over the last week, any video that I try to view from our iTunes U site is taking at least 5 minutes to play, when I double click on the video I get the loading bar, the videos that are less than 30 minutes long take between 5 - 8 minutes to play, the ones that are over 30 minutes take between 10 - 15 minutes to play. This had never happened before, and the weird thing is that I can go to any other iTunes U site and view videos that are two hours long and it takes less than a minute to play. So I know its not my network bandwidth or I wouldn't be able to view other sites. I use an iMac with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of Ram, bought specifically for iTunes U administration. I don't know what else to do. Any help or advice will be truly appreciated.

I have also found our iTunes U site extremely slow for the past few weeks. It also took a long, long time to log into Admin. But at least for us, there has been a noticeable change (for the better) in the last few days.

  • Videos load extremely slow

I just bought this MBP a month ago.  Anytime I try and watch videos, whether it's on youtube, facebook, yahoo or anywhere else they take forever to load.  My internet isn't the fastest but I used to have a 2007 macbook and I never had this problem.  Now with much better hardware on the new MBP, I'm completely baffled as to why videos are loading so slowly.  I use the latest version of Firefox. I can't find any helpful topics online and If I can't figure something out I will have to call apple tech support.

  • The video downloading is extremely slow after downloading Flash Player Active X (IE) and FP Plug-in

I have Windows 7 on a 64-bit operating system, and have Firefox 19 and Internet Explorer 8. I tried installing Flash Player 11.6.602.171 from the Adobe Website and got an error message right at 47% download "can not contact reliable source." I also tried uninstalling whatever Flash Player I had, but I continued to get the same error message at 47% "can not contact reliable source." Finally, following the advice found in the link below under "Program Bar Hangs During Download," I downloaded Flash Player ActiveX (internet explorer) and Flash Player Plug-In (all other browsers). It appeared that both downloads were successful and I verified that the installation was complete in the link below under "Verify that installation is complete." It says I have Flash Player 11.6.602.171. My issue now is that whenever I watch videos that use Flash Player, the downloading of videos is extremely slow.  For example, a 45 second youtube video might take 30 minutes to watch. I have tried everything (from General Info, Download Issues, Installation Issues, Post-Installation Issues) in this Adobe installation problem page http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html but the problem has not improved. Can someone please help me? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First, I went on this link under Progress Bar Hangs During Download
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header
and then I downloaded Flash Player directly by clicking the links provided Flash Player for ActiveX (IE) and then Flash Player Plug-In (All browsers).  After my installations were complete, I tried watching any youtube videos or videos on www.ABC.com and the loading of videos was extremely slow.

  • Multicam is extremely slow

    Hi!
When I have a lot of multicam cuts on timeline - playback of video is extremely slow.
    It is because of audio.
If I disable audio cuts, or turn off audio - all works OK.
Even if I delete all audio from source of multicam - this bug does not disappear.
    Here is my project.
You can try it by yourself, just try to play offline video with audio enabled and disabled to see difference

    Hi,
I have the same problem with the performance.
I am editting the last few months a lot with multicam and very strange things happen with the performance.
Lets first explain how I work lately:
First I take care that all my video sources are in the same (simple) format. So no MP3 sound file or MPEG video files. That takes too much performance from my PC.
I make one timeline TL_Sources with all my sources; 4 (sometimes 6) cams and 1 or 2 soundtracks. I bring them all in sync. Then I copy this time line and name it TL_Sound. I shift all sound tracks on my original down so I have track 1 free. Then I pull the sound part only from TL_Sound to this free soundtrack 1. In this way I can choose freely which cam-sound or soundtrack (from separate sound recorders) is used at which moment, mix them, put any effects and so on. But for the first edit I just select one of the sound sources and/or cam-soundtracks. All video tracks are disabled, ecept one, just for reference when editting audio.
Next timeline is TL_Main_Target, I put TL_Sources on it and make this a multi-cam. Here I decide which cam come when. As My soundtrack is on track 1, I don't have to worry on switching sound. Normally everything works fine up to now and my first edit goes smoothly and no rendering is needed. Sound is also no problem.
Bu then I decide for just one scene that the sound of an other cam should be used. So switch to timeline TL_Sound, and make some small adjustments (change volume to zero for one clip and move it up for an other, or something like that). When I now return to my TL_Main_target, I can wait for an a very long time (one hour simetimes) because ALL audio needs re-rendering!
Ok, no problem, no problem, don't get mad.
Let's asume thats all change in audio and I go on and everything work smoothly again. But now its time to sleep. Wake up next day, start PC and project and...... Wait 1 second before the playback starts! Render the whole timeline; no difference.
So next time, don't stop Premiere and leave PC on the whole night.
Then I make a copy of TL_Main_Target to TL_Guest_one. (my project is a talkshow of a bit more then one hour, three guests, one column and one music part). I remove most of the timeline and keep only the part with guest one. Imake sme edits, overlays of pictures ect. Everything ok. Do the same for guest 2, the music part and the column. And then suddenly, when I do exactly the same for guest 3 (but sometimes also with guest 2) the same sh.. happens and the system gets very slow and I have to wait again for one second for playbacks start.
Yes, I can export my audio and import it again in TL_Main_target and then it works fine. But do I have to export/import after each small change? forget it, this is the best product in video editting. Why is video, which needs a lot of PC-power working fine, but audio, which is much less data and PC-performance so slow?
Does it help to have a special soundcard?
My System: Asus P5K Pro board with Intel quad core on 2,5 Ghz, 8 GB memmory, Windows Pro 64 bits (have the same issue on the 32 bits version), 4 separate HD-spindels so I can divide all sources over more HD's, Gforce 9600. NO SOUNDCARD yet (only on-board sound) I think I will buy a soundcard this week)

  • Extremely Slow Render Speed - GoPro and Twixtor

    Hello!
I am new to the forums, and slightly new to AE, please don't yell at me if there's a similar thread around, I had a look, but nothing really suited my exact case.
I've shot footage on my GoPro Hero 3+ Black, at 720p, 100fps.
I've applied Twixtor to the individual parts required, the rest is at standard speed.
I come across two main problems, one: The live preview is in really terrible quality, and is practically unusable due to its choppiness and blurriness.
Two, being the render time. I tried a two minute video with about 10 seconds worth of slow mo with Twixtor. This took 9 hours to render to AVI. I tried again with WMV, same deal.
I tried an even shorter clip (just straight 5 seconds of slowmo), this was a shorter render time, but still far too long to be practical.
    I'm using AE CS6, running Win 8.1, 2.4gHZ i5, 8GB DDR3, and a 2GB GForce Graphics card.
I've tried tweaking the preferences for multiple core utilization etc etc, still no bonus.
Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is it always meant to be this slow?
    Cheers,
    Dan

Depending on the settings Twixtor can be extremely slow. If you have a lot of rolling shutter artifacts or motion blur in your original video you can also get terrible artifacts. Here's an important thing. MP rendering most likely will not work with Twixtor or any temporal effects so turn it off. The only way to know if your machine is behaving normally is to look at the shot and do some testing. Some shots just require a lot of tweaking to significantly slow down.
If you shot at 100 fps and you want to playback in slow motion then the easiest way, and the best way to start is to go to Footage Interpretation and set the frame rate of your footage to 29.97 or 24 or what ever your deliverable product will be, then drop the footage in a new comp with the same frame rate. No Twixtor required.
Now if you want to slow things down more or speed them up you are working from a much better place and the whole process will be much easier and faster to render. Twitter will also work better.

  • My final cut is running extremely slow after having for 6 months.  I use external hard drives and save nothing on my computer.  it takes a long time to render now. do you think something is wrong with computer. took it to mac store but they fail to help

my final cut is running extremely slow after having for 6 months.  I use external hard drives and save nothing on my computer.  it takes a long time to render now. do you think something is wrong with computer. took it to mac store but they fail to help me.  I have a 13 inch mac book pro 10.6.8 8gb 2.3 gfz intel core i5

What did Apple tell you about what they did (or did not) find here?
See if working on the main disk is any faster.
USB2 is glacial, as I/O interconnects go.  And USB2 disks have been known to fail, or sometimes to drop back to USB1 speeds, too.  FireWire 800 is substantially faster than USB2, but still not as fast as the internal drive connections can provide.
Put another way, start varying your configuration, and see which configuration changes (still) have the problem, and which don't.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate (64-Bit) fresh install, only WLAN and video driver installed but EXTREMELY slow internet connection...

I recently checked my internet connection on my Asus G53SW and found that it was extremely slow on both the LAN and WLAN connections. I checked with a different laptop (old HP Pavilion) and I get a steady 74mbps+ connection using the same LAN cable and
also with the WLAN connection. My ISP has checked their side and everything is fine.
To try and resolve the issue I tried uninstalling, disabling and tweaking various software and even tried safe mode with networking, all to no avail. I then decided to do a complete fresh install this afternoon. I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)
successfully onto my SSD and everything went smoothly. I have now only installed Nvidia video drivers and the (only) WLAN driver from the Asus support site.
My WLAN connection remains incredibly slow (amost half what it is on the HP and my MacBook Pro). Clearly this is an issue with either the Asus laptop or Windows but I don't know how to proceed in order to eliminate which it could be other than to try a different
    o/s to W7-Ult.
Can anyone help who knows more about this than me? Perhaps someone who has had a similar or the same problem because this is giving me a severe headache!
Thanks in advance to all and for any advice.

    if(null != object) object.Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url); }; </script>

Thank you for responding. As I stated in my original post the reason I went through this process was because of an extremely slow internet connection from both the WLAN and LAN connections on my G53SW. At that time I had all of the correct drivers on the
machine. Whilst I would agree that with the machine only having a video and WLAN driver it may well not be working 'optimally', the rationale for doing this was to get the machine working with the minimum of processes to show that it was not anti-virsu software,
Steam or the like causing interference.
I have changed out both of the HDDs this evening (a primary SSD and a secondary 1Tb HDD) for a clean hybrid 1Tb Seagate drive. Once I have installed all of the Asus drivers (and nothing else) I will try the speed test again and report back.
I can now report that with a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 and ONLY Asus drivers as supplied the issue remains. On a connection where I should see around 75mbps I am actually getting around 18mbps, sometimes considerably slower. This only affects
    my Asus machine.
