Rendering logic of Portlets in Skeleton files
Hi, Can any one please let me know which skeleton file renders the portlets in WebLogic Portal? The layout JSP files do not have this logic.
-Sampath
Hi,
I also have the same kind of requirement to reorder portlets on page based on some information in the custom user database. I don't want use the bea rest and disc api calls because of few methods conficts with our firm api. I don't want use the weblogic DVT framework also.
How to reorder/reposition portlets at server side without using DVT, REST or DISC API?
Thanks
Chandra

Integration server as logical system in IDoc to file scenario
Hi,
Will we configure integration server as logical system in IDoc to file scenario or the RFC destination related to the port will be suffice?
For which logical system will the outbound partner profile configured?
Regards,
Gajendra.Hello,
I feel that the RFC destination linked to the port is the key here.
Because the scenario (IDoc to File) works in both the cases:
Case 1: Used the logical system as Integration server
Case 2: Used the logical system related to the file (third party) in the SLD.
In both the above cases the RFC destination points to the integration server.
Is this the case that in the XI scenarios (where IDoc are sent) the logical system name in the partner profile is just dummy and has not much significance??
It is the port that matters and once the Idoc reaches XI the routing takes place based on the configuration in ID.
Thanks.
Regards,
Gajendra. -
Logic Express 7 crashes before files finish loading + crash report?!!
Hi I'm a newbie!
And I'm going crazy here. Hope someone can help me. Was trying to get into a studio to work on this track in 2 days time.
I'm running LE7(vers 7.1.1) and started a song that had about 3 Garriton Personal Orchestra(GPO) sounds alongside some EXS sounds. It started crashing quite a bit. Screen was freezing, crashed when I tried to play the song etc.
Now when I try to load the song, Logic starts loading the EXS files then pauses at one particular file(PS-11 wav). It continues to successfully load the GPO files, leaving just the last PS-11 wav to be found but then a notice appears saying 'sample not found' and the whole thing shuts down leaving just the desktop on the screen, even if LE7 was running prior to that. It opens other songs as normal.
I've checked - Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments the exs folder IS in there
I checked - Library/Application Support/Logic/EXS Factory Samples and the wav file (and all other PS-11 wavs) were not in there. So I found them and put them back(was that correct thing to do?).
I rebooted .... and still same problem. I've been looking on the forum for others clues but to no joy.
All this stuff does facinate me but I desperately need to get on with the track.
Would this crash report help to clarify? Somebody. Please... Help!

I've had exactly the same problem as you. Since installing the ProKit 5.1 update Logic Pro 7 just crashes on attempting to start the application.
Now I know we all should upgrade to Logic Pro 9 but some of us just dont have the cash. This wasnt even mentioned on the Apple site at all, no warnings, no mention that it only works with Logic 8 & 9.
I'm really annoyed and angry now since I've lost 2 days of work thanks to this. And it feels like Apple is operating like Microsoft in the way they want to bleed money out of everyone. A simple warning to users of Logic 7 would have been nice.
So to conclude, Rob - I really feel for you. I know your pain. And trust me, I'm not going to take it lying down. A warning should have been issued. I expected this type of issue from the migration from OS9 to OSX years ago but not from OSX to another OSX! -
Why does logic randomly delete my project files?
Logic will periodically delete the project files from the project folder and i can't get it to stop. It often costs me hours of work. For example, i'll close logic (and save) and come back the next day to find the "xxxx.logic" file missing. No alias, no error message, just gone as if simply deleted. My backups are still there, but those are usually hours behind where i was. Any help????
Never heard of that one before.
Can you figure out at what stage the file get deleted. When you save your project and quit Logic, is it still in the FInder? If so then your problem is not Logic.
Until you find the cause, when you save the final Project, just do one optical change (extend a Region by one bar) and save the project, then quit Logic. If your project file gets deleted again then you can pull out the last saved backup file from the folder. It is identacal except that minor edit you did.

Logic pro 8 & windows (.iso) files
Hi everybody,
My name is Franck and I'm a Logic audio user since 1999.
I made a lot of backups from 1999 to 2005 of logic songs saved under Windows (98 & XP).
I was able to open and convert this files to the Mac Os format with logic express 7, but since I upgraded to Logic pro 8 it isn't possible anymore.
The soft says I have to install the 7 version, but when I try to install the 7 version I have a message "there is an earlyer version of this soft on your computer, do you want to replace it, and then only two buttons : "replace" or "Cancel"! I mean is it impossible to install the 7 version in "parralel" to the 8 version? Is there any plug in or add on who can convert this windows files with the 8 version? Is there any good reason for Logic 8 not opening this files anymore???
I really would like to use my logic backups when ever I want (or need like today!), without having to convert all of them. This is one of the reason I switched to mac os 5 years ago. Thanks for your help! Finally I made a clone of my Imac on a external Hard drive with Carbon Copy Cloner (cause I didn't have another machine!). I installed LE7 over LP8 on the clone after restarting on it.I copied LE7 to my applications folder on my Imac.
It seems to be OK. I opened a windows file .iso with LE7 and saved it under a new name after conversion in 5 format. Than I was able to open it with LP8 on the same computer!
Better than nothing, I mean it would be much easyier if LP8 could open & convert directly this windows files. I can't understand why they removed this function in L8! Is that progress??? -
Can't open Logic Pro 8 (or earlier) files
I just installed Logic Pro 9 and if I double click on one of my Logic Pro 8 composition projects, it launches Logic Pro 9 but doesn't open the file. Has anyone else had this problem?
(I can open the projects up by launching Logic Pro 9 and selecting File > Open but always found it much quicker and more intuitive to do it the other way.)
Even if I save a piece as a Logic Pro 9 project, double-clicking on the file won't open it... Any ideas?I found a strange thing:
Logic is closed. In Finder double click on logic project file. Logic opens. The project does not appear.
Choose File > New...
Immediately close the New window.
The original file you wanted to open now begins to open in Logic.

Unable to use character within a String in a skeleton file
The < character appears to be a special character to skeleton files. I am unable to use this character to built a string in a skeleton file.
For instance, using this block:
<jsp:scriptlet>
String sample = "<test";
</jsp:scriptlet>
Results in this error: String literal is not properly closed by a double quote.
It's also not allowed as a character either:
<jsp:scriptlet>
String sample = "[test";
sample = sample.replace('[','<');
</jsp:scriptlet>
This block has the error: Invalid character constant.
It appears the < character is a special character in the way skeleton files parse, but I can't find any way to escape it like normal special characters. That actually puts < into the string, which the browser won't interpret as HTML.
This also breaks the Workshop UI saying the string literal isn't terminated. It doesn't like & or ; characters in strings either. However, it will still compile and run.

Rendering sequence of portlets
hi,
Assuming all these are JSP based portlets built using JPDK -
1) If I have a finite number of portlets on my page, can I assume the portlets would all render/be_processed at the same time before rendering the entire page? I would like to have some code in one of my portlets to either do a REDIRECT to its own details page OR continue to render the rest of the page, based on some logic. (very simply - that logic would be to check if this "user" exists in my USERS table. If not redirect, else continue)
Can I do that ?
2) As a tangent from the standard parameters passing portlet, if I have a URL string created in one portlet, can I obtain that in the other portlets on the same page. The URL string will be the same for every request to the page everytime. I guess the portlet creating this URL string could have some code to put it on the provider session and the the other portlets can pick it up. But I would like to explore other options as well.
Appreciate your input
regards
AnanthThanks Mohana,
1) thanks for this one. I will give it a try.
2) Where can i get more information on these two types of session store. When you construct a 'details'link using the the method xxx.constructDetailsLink(), it uses the provider id and the portlet id to build the url but NOT the portlet instance id.
So, keeping that in mind, in my application, I could post that URL onto the preference store to be used by all portlets for all users. It does not have to be per user basis. (it is the same url for all users)
However, the infrastructure I will be deploying this to - they have multiple web providers tied to a load balancer.
So, would any of these session stores work ?

I was in the process of reorganising my hard drives so I could RAID them however I managed to corrupt one drive and had to format it which meant I lost all my Logic Files and some other files. I managed to save a lot of files (mainly video files) before I had to format the drive but I need a Data Recovery service that will not alter anything on the hard drive and will put all the formatted files (regardless of the type) back for me so I can get the rest of the ones I need.
Thanks in advance. What about folders and such?
No. FS doesn't reconstruct folders. However, Data Rescue does, depending on how you use it. About the only thing in Data Rescue a Quick Scan ever seems to show you are files that are already live.
So that leaves you with a Deep Scan, or a Deleted Files scan. The first pass of a Deep Scan will attempt to retrieve folders and files, along with their original names. The second pass only looks for file patterns. Like recognizing a Photoshop .psd file. It will recover it, but give it a nonsense name. A Deleted Files scan only results in nonsense names of recognized file types; no folders.
What were you using File Salvage on? A hard drive?
Yes, though you can use it on a flash drive, or any other mounted drive.
At the moment it is estimating 289 hours remaining on a 1TB drive. Can it not go faster?
No, both of the software mentioned are slower than molasses in January. When you delete anything in Windows, its file table entry simply tagged as deleted. So to unerase them, the tag is removed. That's why it works to quickly and easily (assuming you haven't already overwritten the data to be recovered).
In OS X though, the whole idea of the underlying UNIX structure is all about security. It's not supposed to be easy to retrieve deleted items. When you delete items, their file table entries are erased. So the only way to find deleted items is to scour the entire drive for BOF (Beginning Of File) markers that don't have a matching starting block to anything that is in the file table.
Another question, half the drive was empty. Will it fly over that empty space or will it sieve through it incase there was some files stored on it?
If you use the Expert mode is FS, you can choose to do that: -
Web Clipping portlet and pdf files

Urgent : Help required for logical comparison of two 2GB files.
Large files need to be compared depending on Business logic. No byte to byte comparison to be done. It would require reference of data written at the start of the file at some other later part of the file too while comparing two files. File needs to be stored in memory while comparison is done. Kindly suggest some way out which would give best performance. Memory limitations are 256 MB RAM.
File needs to be stored in memory while comparison is done.
Memory limitations are 256 MB RAM.You have 4 GB of data. You have 256 MB of RAM to put it in. Obviously one of those two assumptions has to be changed. By the way, what is the XML connection for this question? -
Substitution for logical OR usage in control file of sql loader
Hi,
can anyone suggest me a substituion method to use the functionality of logical OR in control file developed for sql loader.
Ex:
load data
append
into table ABC
when (1:2) = 'AD'
--AND ((27:28)= '01' OR (27:28)= '02')
AND (1222:1222) = '1'
trailing nullcols
Note: condition commented in the above example need to be replaced.
one way of doing it can be splitting blocks for each condition.
Then it will look like:
load data
append
into table ABC
when (1:2) = 'AD'
AND (27:28)= '01'
AND (1222:1222) = '1'
trailing nullcols
into table ABC
when (1:2) = 'AD'
AND (27:28)= '02'
AND (1222:1222) = '1'
trailing nullcols
So, i'm looking for a better way than this, as i cannot work with the above
splitting logic because i'm dealing with lot many conditions.
Thanx inadvance

Logic Pro X help: Track/File menu not showing up in audio editor. How to fix?
Hello,
I am a amature musician that has been using logic pro for a little while now. I recently tried to use the time and pitch machine to stretch a sample to my project length. I open up the audio editor and behold! No file menu. I have looked through all the mues and I cant seem to find it anywhere.
Has anyone experienced this problem and do they know how to fix it?
Thank youYou are in Track view, where you need to be in File view. Those tabs are just outside of your screenshot, it seems. You must have either an enormous screen or a big screen resolution.
As KC said, flex is a more versatile tool, but if you have a set workflow, then the T&P machine is still there. -
Using Logical Directory property in Assign File Adapter BPEL
Hi,
I wanted to use The Logical Directory which I created while making File Adapter in a BPEL process in 11g, in an assign activity.
How it can be done?
Thanks in advance
SharatI have already created a binding property for Logical Directory in Composite.xml. The thing is I want to set it through em, and check inside BPEL whether it is null or not. Only after that the File Adapter should be invoked.
I wanted to avoid exception if the binding property is not set by the user.
The solution lies in the word "exception" itself, just put the "invoke" activity inside a scope and on that scope attach a catch activity with "Binding Exception". If the file adapter is not able to find the file path, it will raise the excetption and "catch" will catch and inside catch I am able to put any activity which can end the process gracefully.
