Rendering of tables, how to avoid?

Hi Experts,
I have created a new light masthead without any tables, only div containers. But when I log into the portal, there's a table around the div containers. In the page layout there are also only div containers, but in the containers there are the placeholders like <lyt:container id="left" />, is this the problem, can I avoid the rendering of tables? Thanks!
That's what I found in the documentation:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/05/fcbc400f64702ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
"The main tag of the tag library is the container tag <lyt:container> which serves as space holder for columns (and rows in a future release) of portal applications. Every container turns into a HTML table with a portal application in every cell."

Hi Jeroen,
I looked into the com.sap.portal.pagebuilder and found the following code
<tag>
         <name>container</name>
          <tagclass>com.sapportals.portal.pb.layout.taglib.ContainerTag</tagclass>
                   <bodycontent>EMPTY</bodycontent>
          <info>stam1</info>
                <attribute>
               <name>id</name>
               <required>true</required>
               <rtexprvalue>true</rtexprvalue>
          </attribute>
     </tag>
So I think you have to put there a new tag property with <name>mycontainer .... and then copy the com.sapportals.portal.pb.layout.taglib.ContainerTag and rename it, make your changes and refer from the tag propoerty to it. I will try out in the next days.

    Hi Sandesh.
    Put your table in subform. (one for each)
    And than add one more subform and include all 3 table's subforms in single subforms.
    All subforms should be flowed.
    With Regards,

  • How to avoid Duplicate Records  while joining two tables

    Hi,
    I am trying to join three tables, basically two tables are same one is like history table, so I wrote a query like
    select
    e.id,
    e.seqNo,
    e.name,
    d.resDate,
    d.details
    from employees e,
    ((select * from dept)union(select * from dept_hist)) d
    join on d.id=e.id and e.seqno=d.seqno
    but this returing duplicate records.
    Could anyone please tell me how to avoid duplicate records of this query.

    Actually it is like if the record is processed it will be moved to hist table, so both table will not have same records and I need the record from both the tables so i have done the union of both the tables, so d will have the union of both records.
    But I am getting duplicate records if even I am distinct.

  • How to avoid duplicate data while inserting from sample.dat file to table

    Hi Guys,
    We have issue with duplicate data in flat file while loading data from sample.dat file to table. How to avoid duplicate data in control file.
    Can any one help me on this.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,

    No, a control file will not remove duplicate data.
    You would be better to use an external table and then remove duplicate data using SQL as you query the data to insert it to your destination table.

    Hi,
    is it Role playing dimension? In Role playing dimension case you can't hide dimension name prefix. Consider creating new database dimensions instead of using role dimensions.

  • How to avoid submitting a page when tabular form rows are empty

    Hi,
    I have a master detail form in my application. There are 2 tables that are used Table A and Table B. Table A contains Ticket number and Table B refers to Table A through a foriegn key and Table B have columns like Date,Name, Age, ticket_id (that refers to the ticket_number of the Table A).
    This is how the application works:
    In a page there is a field for Ticket Number, once the user enters the Ticket Number and click Add Details, a tabular Form with 5 empty field appears... (Done through Page Process->Data Manipilation->Add Rows)
    This form contains fields Date, Name and Age. Once the user fills in all the details and click Submit button, the page is submitted. Whatever values that was entered is saved in Table B. Page Sucess message appears. This works fine.
    But once the Ticket Number is entered and Add Details is clicked, and without entering the values in the Tabular Form, if Submit button is clicked, there is no error showing up neither I see Page success message. But this should not be allowed. There should be some error showing up...
    Tabular Form Validations works only when user enters some values in the Tabular Form and click Submit. For the above scenario, where the form is untouched the validation doesnt work.
    How can I get this done? Any ideas?

    Hello Suzi,
    >> if (document.wwv_flow==null)
    The document.wwv_flow is an object representing the current form that was just rendered on your screen. As such, it can never be null.
    >> How to avoid submitting a page when tabular form rows are empty
    The correct way, especially for versions prior to APEX 4.0 is to use JavaScript, but for that, you need to know and understand how APEX generates your tabular form, HTML wise.
    To be very brief, APEX attached a unique ID to every updatable cell in the tabular form, using a certain pattern – each updatable column is getting a unique name (e.g. ‘f01’,’f02’ etc.) and the ID of a cell is a combination of this name with the serial row number the cell is on. For example, a cell on the third row in an updatable column called ‘f04’ will be given an ID of f04_0003. (More detailed explanation, with an example, can be found in my book).
    What you should do is to check these cells according to your validation policy (e.g. is all five row must be filled, is all the columns in a specific row must be filled, etc.).

    Arie.

  • How to avoid showing extra accessor nodes in "af:tree" component?

    I work with with JDev 11.1.2.3. (ADF BC, ADF Faces stack)
    I have a data structure that is hierarchical (table references itself), and another table that referneces first one.
    First table contains names of containers (container can be in another container), and second table holds contents of containers.
    I want to create tree that shows data from both tables.
    When I create tree binding I have two accessors for first table, one with which table references itself and another accessor with which second table references the first one.
    Because of that in rendered tree under each node which represents first table's row I get two extra nodes (one for each accessor).
    Is it possible not to show those extra nodes but that everything is packed under the same hierarchy?
    Best regards,
    Nebojsa

    The logic here is pretty similar to the one with folders and files. Folders are container types and files are just leaf nodes (can't contain other files).
    I don't want under each folder node to have two new container nodes - one that hold other subfolders, and another one that hold just files. And that's just what I get now.
    How to avoid that?
    Anybody?

    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,15,3) NA2,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,18,3) TC3,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,21,3) NA3,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,24,3) TC4,

    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,30,10) WTHER, SNO
    FROM scott.SMS1 where SNO=(select MAX (sno) from SMS1);
    END;
    Now in order to update the second table with data from first table on regular basis I have written a job scheduler and I am using oracle 9.0. version...
    DECLARE
    X NUMBER;
    JobNumber NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    SYS.DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT
    job => X
    ,what => 'scott.SPLITSMS;'
    ,next_date => SYSDATE+1/1440
    ,interval => 'SYSDATE+1/1440 '
    ,no_parse => FALSE
    :JobNumber := to_char(X);
    END;
    Now this job scheduler is working properly and updating the data for every one minute but it is taking or updating the duplicate values also ..like example:
    R C S TC NA TC2 NA2 TC3 NA3 TC4 NA4 WTHER SNO

  • How to avoid db file parallel read for nestloop?

    After upgraded to 11gr2, one job took more than twice as long as before on 10g and 11gr1 with compatibility being 10.2.0.
    Same hardware. (See AWR summary below). My analysis points to that Nestloop is doing index range scan for the inner table's index segment,
    and then use db file parallel read to read data from the table segment, and for reasons that I don't know, the parallel read is very slow.
    AVG wait is more than 300ms. How can I fluence optimier to choose db file sequential read to fetch data block from inner table by tweaking
    parameters? Thanks. YD

    Its not possible to say anything just by looking at the events.You must understand that statspacks and AWR actualy aggergate the data and than show the results.There may be a very well possibility that some other areas also need to be looked at rather than just focussin on one event.
    You have not mentioned any kind of other info about the wait event like their timings and all that.PLease provide that too.
    And if I understood your question corretly,you said,
    How to avoid these wait events?
    What may be the cause?
    I am afraid that its not possible to discuss each of these wait event here in complete details and also not about what to do when you see them.Please read teh Performance Tuning book which narrates these wait events and corresponding actions.
    Please read and follow this link,

  • How to avoid ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE exception?

    Hi gurus,
    in our wda application, we call an abap funcion module,under certain cases, the funciton module will issue a statement like
    message exxx.
    then our webdynpro will dump ,with message show:
    termination &#65306;ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE
    could you please tell me how to avoid this?
    thanks and best regards.
    Jun

    There are couple of way you can avoid the ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE exception.
    1. Handle all the exception when you call the FM. For example:
    Sample code:
    <div class="jive-quote">
    CALL FUNCTION 'READ_TEXT'
    EXPORTING
    CLIENT = SY-MANDT
    id = im_textid
    language = im_textlanguage
    name = l_textname
    object = 'TEXT'
    ARCHIVE_HANDLE = 0
    LOCAL_CAT = ' '
    IMPORTING
    header = ex_header
    TABLES
    lines = li_tline
    EXCEPTIONS
    id = 1
    language = 2
    name = 3
    not_found  4
    object = 5
    reference_check = 6
    wrong_access_to_archive = 7
    OTHERS = 8.
    </div>
    2. If it doesnt have exception: If its custom FM, make it as remote enabled, In case of SAP FM, try to wrap up the FM into remote enabled FM.
    Hope this helps you.

  • How to avoid version information in http response

    Hi,
    We have a SAP java web application in webdynpro framework developed using SAP NetWeaver.
    If I right click on broswer and see View Source of the page, it is displaying information related to Development components, java version, SAP version etc..
    I am very new to SAP and would like to know how to avoid the information.
    I have already tried setting useServerHeader to false and DevelopmentMode to False in SAP J2EE engine.
    Below is the information displayed in the view source.

  • Calling a method in the backing bean when rendering a table

    I'm rendering a table that begins with :
    <h:dataTable value="#{showRooms.rooms}" var="rowRoom" ...
    There are several properties I'm displaying. Some are just displayed as they appear from the database like:
    <h:outputText value="#{rowRoom.roomNumber}"/>
    However, some I need to translate so they display a more meaningful message to the users. For example, status is stored 'A', or 'NA', but this should display 'Available' or 'Not Available'. To do this, I'm taking an idea I saw in another forum by providing a method to call and translate the text. For example:
    public String getDisplayedStatus(String status) {
    if (status.equals("A") {
    return "Available";
    } else {
    My problem is how can I invoke a method and pass in the current value of status for that row in the table. I think I need something like this:
    <h:outputText value="#{showRooms.getDisplayedStatus(#{rowRoom.roomStatus})"/>
    But that doesn't work. I can invoke the getDisplayedStatus method when passing in a hardcoded parameter, but it won't translate the value of both expressions(the method and the method param). How can I achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Yes. I've done that and it does work....sort of. It works as long as I refer to it as 'displayStatus'. It looks up the getDisplayStatus and returns a value. The problem is getting the current status value from the object in the List. For example, the 3rd row in the table has either 'A;' or 'NA' for status. I need to know this value in order to do my translation. The way I see it, I either need
    1.)a way to call a method on the backing bean and pass the value of status from the current row into the method.
    -or-
    2.)in getDisplayStatus, I need a way to access the current row's value, perhaps through an expression. This appears to be what you can do in the AbstractPageBean class that all backing beans inherit in Studio Creator. I've seen code in a getter like 'getValue(#{currentRow.status}'), but I don't know how that is done. I looked for the source to AbstractPageBean on the web but couldn't find it - maybe its not open-source.
    Anyway, please share if anyone has a solution. I'm sure this has been done before.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • How to avoid XVBPA line item values while creating sales order

    Hi Friends
    I am creating Sales order using function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS, for that I am passing partner details through segment E1EDKA1.If I pass the same partner details(Partner number, name1,name4,city,postel code) which is same like customer master,
    I can able to book the order and entries are coming only one time in VBPA table(Header Item level).But if I change any value for the particular partner in the Input(For example Name4, there is no value in customer master but I added through program).Now its creating an order but its showing the entered partner informations in header level.When I checked the same in line item level, its not picking the values from header, its picking the values from customer master for that particular partner.
    So this line item also coming in VBPA table, because its different from header data.
    Anyone guide me, how to avoid this problem while booking order through program.
    Thanks
    Gowrishankar

    I am updating Ship-To-Party value in segment E1EDKA1 and calling IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS function module to create the sales order.
    In this case for the particular partner there is no NAME4 value in KNA1, I am passing some value through this segment E1EDKA1.
    So its creating an order with this new addresses , so its generating new ADRNR in VBPA header level.Thats fine.But the same time
    its not copying the same value from header to line item.
    In Line item level again its picking the address details from KNA1 for the particular partner number.So its showing Blank value in NAME4 field of line items.Its creating and spllitting issue, while creating delivery.
    Thanks
