Renew student discount after 1 year period

Hi, I just logged in to my account and saw, to my surprise, that my student discount was cancelled in June, and am set to be charged $9.99 per month from July 6. When I checked "receipts", it appears that the discount ran out last month, having run one year. I saw the terms and conditions now, and it looks like a student discount must be renewed before it is set to expire. Since my student discount expired (basically in May 2015) and I was charged the regular premium price in July, is there any hope to renew the student discount now for another year? If so, how? Many thanks! 

I am also having similar trouble and I'm yet to get a response. Seems it's quite frequent at the moment.

  • Spotify Student Discount after email change

    I started my Spotify Premium account with the 3 months for $0.99, but when I originally made my account I used a personal email rather than my university one. The 3 month trial ends on the 16th of this month, and I just changed my email address to my university one. How can I make sure that I get charged with the student discount rather than pay the full $9.99 a month for premium?

  • Loyalty plan stopped getting access discount after a year

    So, I am on the Loyalty Plan, $60/2GB unlim T&T, I have been a customer since 2008, exactly one year ago I upgraded to a smart phone and at the same time verizon offered me the Loyalty Plan, so got it all started, the Costco gal set it up great, she sent me to the Verizon store to file for my 20% access discount, which I did, the Verizon store went ahead after I showed a payroll check and got my discount applied. So, here is the issue, after a FULL year of 20%($12) discount, I get my June statement, NO DISCOUNT, called Verizon, talked with Braiden, after 30+ minutes, all I get is sorry sir the discount does not apply to your plan, HMMMM, I just been recieving it for a year and now you say it doesnt apply? AND GET THIS, it even says ON MY BILL in the left column that I get a 20% access discount!!
    After being a LONG TIME customer, this little discount that they DID give me, and says I GET on my bill, will be the sole reason my departure from Verizon as soon as my contract ends. How can they be so poorly customer minded when they just remove a discount and all I get is "sorry sir"?

    It is horrible that this happened to you, but my wife's line qualified for the same loyalty plan you are on now and I asked if employer discounts would qualify and the answer I got was no because Verizon does not give discounts on prepaid or special promotional plans (i.e. the loyalty plan). Since her plan at the time was a $60 dollar regular plan that did qualify for the employer discount we stayed with what we had.
    It is great that you got the discount for 12 months.  It's unfortunate for you that some sales rep gave you the wrong information regarding the loyalty plan being eligible for further discounts when in fact it was not.  Good for you that there was a computer glitch that let you receive that non qualifying discount for 12 months.  But now the retailer discovered the issue/mistake and they have chosen to rectify the problem.  However (unfortunate and infuriating for us the consumers), in the terms of your plan it states that the loyalty plan does not qualify for further discounts.  It sucks yes and I too would be so very angry  if I found my self in your shoes, but alt least Verizon is not trying to charge you for the mistake.

    I have always paid for spotify at half price (in the UK) by using my NUS extra card. The card is still in date and I'm still a student but I have started being charged full price subscription again. There is no option to change my payment details and add the student card and when I go to the student subscription page it redirects me as I am 'not eligible for this discount'? Doesn't seem to make sense to me. Want to go back to paying half price without cancelling my subscription and restarting it again if possible.

    The student discount lasts one year before it expires. After it expires you should be able to renew it from the student discount page.

    So for the last year, I've been using my Spotify Student discount to listen to music with no problem. Today, I check my card statement and it appears that Spotify has charged me $10 instead of the student discounted $5. What's up with that? I'm still a student at my university, I already submitted a screenshot of my schedule this year to appease you scheisters. (completely ridiculous) You want me to pay $10 now that a year has gone by? Great policy. You see, the only reason I use Spotify is because it's $5. There are plenty of more established music services (looking at you, Google Music) that I will use instead of Spotify if you guys decide to keep this braindead policy of jacking up the price on students. Fix this. I'm still a student. You still want a customer. I will jump to Google Music if you charge me $10 a month instead of $5. And if your policy is to cancel the student rate after a year, WHY IS THIS INFORMATION NOT SHARED? It's like pulling teeth trying to get info from this website. 

    i would like to highlight the problem that we are experiencing. We are STILL students. We were never notified about the ending of our contract as a student. the fact that they can just charge us double the amount that we have been paying is f*cking unacceptable. yes, we enjoy musc at a reduced price, but it is unfair for us to be charged without any notification on my account that i would be charged double from now on. Yes, i understand that the saved their asses by having that written in the contract. i think the real problem that i have is the **bleep**ty customer service that they offer, or should i say DON'T OFFER. no way to contact, no way to call, just discussion boards tht we wait to have commented on by other frustrated cusomers. On top of all of this, i should not have to cancel my subscription in order to apply the discount again on my account.

    Hi, just received a reminder that my membership will be end and renew soon in April. I m now on student discount plan, paying $14.95/month.
    would like to ask when it renew, can i still keep going on my student discount plan? because the reminder show after renew, i will be paying $24.95 instead.

    You will stay in the student plan, but pay 24.95. The extra discount only applies for the first year.

    The student discount has to be renewed every year as it expires after a year, you can just activate student discount again and youll be charged the doscounted cost again :)

    I'm a college student, so I'm interested in the student discount. The terms say that after one year I will be charged the then-standard rate, saying that it's "currently 29.99", but the plans list says that that's the special offer for people who have previously purchased CS3 or higher. The regular standard price is 49.99, which is a lot more. Which one would I be paying in a year, given that I have never purchased a creative suite and technically won't have with this subscription? 30 bucks a month is hell of a lot more attractive than 50 bucks a month.

    If you're no longer a student when your contract is renewed in 12 months then you pay the standard rate prevailing at that time (currently $49.99/month).
    If you are still a student then you pay the standard student rate (currently $29.99/month).
    The promotional $29.99/month discount (first 12 months only) for existing CS3-CS6 customers is a separate offer, not applicable to you.

    I bought my laptop from a UK apple store for student price & my university is registered as an educational institution on the apple website.

    The care plan extends your coverage from date-of-purchase to the three-year mark, and provides free telephone support for that entire period.
    In general, there are no additional student discounts on the care plan.
    The care plan covers defects in materials and workmanship up to the three year mark. On a MacBook, it does not cover accidental damage or liquid spills. But owners of the care plan have been known to get the 'benefit of the doubt' in close judgement calls about warranty coverage.
    You must choose to purchase it within the first year of coverage, or it becomes unavailable. This is to preclude users waiting until a problem occurs and then buying care. Like any sort of insurance, it remains affordable because some purchases will be covered, but will not need to collect on it.

    If you update to iOS 8, you can select that in Settings>Messages>Keep Message and then select your option. If you don't update to iOS 8, you'll need to do it manually.
