Renew Subordinate CA with new key

We have one Enterprise Root CA and one Subordinate CA server in our environment. Subordinate CA issues certificates to many DCs and Webservers.
Now the certificate of Subordinate CA is getting expired and we have to renew. I would like to know what will happen if I renew Subordionate certificate with new key pair? all the existing certificates issued by Subordinate CA become invalid? or still
continue to funtion till expiry date?

My Sub CA Certificate is going to expire on 30th May. SubCA has issued ceritificates to application's like TestApp1, TestApp2, TestApp3. The existing certificate issued by Sub CA installed on these applications are expiring on 30th May.
I am plannig to renew SUb CA certificate with different Key this weekend i.e on 26th april and also increasing the certificate keylength to 2048 bits.
When renew SubCA certificate with different key, the existing certificates installed on TestApp1, TestApp2, TestApp3 still continue function till its expiry i.e 30th May? Hope renewing SubCA certificate with different key will not disturb the existing
certificates installed on TestApp1, TestApp2, TestApp3. Becase I am planning to renew certificates installed on TestApp1, TestApp2, TestApp3 in first week of May as I can not have downtime on 26th april.

RPC Server is unavailable when trying to renew or request a new certificate with new key

I have a couple of wireless access points (AP's) that are unable to use our RADIUS server to authenticate.
This started happening after a power outage, and I did a gracefull shutdown of the RADIUS server. When the server was booted up the AP's appear to have lost the ability to authenticate users of both PC's and mobile devices.
I looked through the Network Policy server MMC and didn't find anything there.
Next I looked at the certificates and found 2 in the Personal>Certificates folder, that I think are related to this configuration. The odd thing is they expired the exact same day as the power outage.
So I tried to Renew and then Recreate the certificate's key. That's when I received the RPC server unavailable. I also tried creating a new key from scratch, same problem.
I did a lot of searching on the web so I have seen this thread and I have checked all the things recommended, none of the suggestions helped:

If the CA is operational, the next steps are:
- Any firewalls between your client and this CA? Did somebody change the desktop firewalls settings at the CA?

- Can sombody (the PKI admin?) confirm that the CA works fine and other clients can enroll? What's the difference between those clients and yours?

- Is the CA probably in a different domain and does Kerberos authentication work fine between domains? I had sometimes seen things like: CA is in a root domain but clients cannot talk to Root DCs as per firewall settings - thus clients cannot get Kerberos tickets
from the domain hosting the CA. (Certificate enrollment is sometimes the first application that really requires Kerberos and cannot fall back to NTLM). A network trace would help here.

External Authentication failed with new key

I have a card using SCP 01 05. There is 1 keyset(3 keys) with version 01. I have added a new keyset(3 keys as well) with version 02.
I run external authentication with keyset version 01 and it passed. I run external authentication with keyset version 02 immediately but it returned 6982. This mean "Security status not satisfied". Why can't I do authentication with other key?

Read the INITIAL UPDATE command !!!! What is the P1/P2 ? If you inform it to use the keyset 1, then you can't possibly think that calculating with the keyset 2 will work ?
The response data contains a bunch of information, including the keyset used to create the card cryptogram. That is the required key for calculating the off-card cryptogram. You would have seen this if you were calculating the card cryptogram properly because you would have been using the wrong key and the cryptograms wouldn't have matched.
So, Why can't I do authentication with other key? Because you have to INITIALIZE UPDATE with that other key.

Set JArray values with invalid key value: "LastUpdatedTime" on new alert rule creation

I'm trying to create a new alert rule using version 0.9.11 of the Monitoring Library and am getting this error on alertsClient.rules.CreateOrUpdate:
"Set JArray values with invalid key value: "LastUpdatedTime". Array position index expected."
That's interesting because LastUpdatedTime is a DateTime object, and whether I set it or I don't, if I set a breakpoint, it does set itself correctly, but the API appears to be expecting a JSON hash?
I've tested alertsClient and I'm able to get existing alerts (also metrics with metrics client), so I don't believe it's an access issue.
Any ideas?

New keepassx (0.4.0-1) global auto-type key not working with Win-key?

After system upgrade in new version of keepassx (0.4.0-1) stop working global auto-type key set previously to Win+K stop working. I tried to set it once more (menu Edit->Settings->Advanced) but combinations with Win key are not recognised anymore. I am just curious if anybody have same problem. Anyway, I happily downgraded back to keepassx 0.3.4-1 .

Renew CA Certificate with Different CSP (or KSP)

Folks, is there a way to specify a different CSP (or KSP) when performing a renewal of a CA certificate. The requirement I have is to move from an older 32-bit CSP to a KSP - whilst there may be some trick approach to doing this using utilities provided
by the HSM people, we'd be quite happy to use the renewal process to "manage out" the old CSP.
There doesn't appear to be any opportunity when running the "wizard" to renew the CA certificate... neither is there anything in the CAPolicy.inf.
I was thinking about using certreq, but then I don't know what "magic" that would omit compared to running the renewal with the wizard.

Using the GUI you can select to renew or request new cert, but you must opt to use a new key in order to specify the CSP.
Likewise, you could do so using certreq and specify the ProviderName & ProviderType values in the request.inf file. You can get the appropriate values from:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Defaults\Provider\CSP_NAME
When the CSP is selected look for the DWORD "Type" for the numerical value to put in for the ProviderType value.
I haven't tested it & am not sure if it would actually work using certreq, but you might be able to do a renewal with the same key RenewalCert = CertId, UseExistingKeySet = TRUE. The key strength would need to be the same (since you would be using
the existing key of whatever strength it is). Certreq handles a few things a little bit more out-of-band so its a little tougher to track things, but due to that you can sometimes bend the rules that the GUI inflicts.

Adding new key figure in Info structure

Hi all,
I am in a need to add a new key figure to our info structure here in my company.
The way I understand it is, it would be best to create a NEW info structure and copy all existing key figure and characteristic and then insert my new key figure into this and rewrite the macro if required.
So my question is
1. How to determine which info structure is currently in use in my company? If i check in MC89 - the key figures match what is in Info structure S076. So is it safe to assume that we are using standard S&OP in my company? Is that a correct way to identify the currently used info structure?
2. For our KMAT, when i open a planned order I see that there in another info structure (not S076) under configuration tab. So can we have diff info structure in use at a same time ?

I need to know this so that when I am creating my own custom (S500 - S999) info structure, i can copy the existing KFs and Characteristics and add them to my info structure and then Add a specific key figure on top of that.
Info structures are nothing but tables so in se16 you can check which are Info structures are having update values.
Yes you can add the specific key figure on existing self defined info structure in MC22 after that you need to generate it.
2. Can multiple info structure be in 'use' at the same time in any scenario?
For self defined info structure are application specific you can not have multiple info structure for same scenario. If you take the example of flexible planning with self defined info structure then you can transfer the demand from only one info structure.

Office Home and Student 2010 Install problems with a Key Code Err..

I had to install a new hard drive, lost everything..So I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional ..
I own a the 2010 Home and Student CD bought at the Microsoft store...Doesn't come with Outlook...
So I ordered the Home and Business 2010 disc with Service Pack 1 Included, this has 2010 outlook ...It loaded and worked fine up to the point I had to replace my Drive with New Windows 7 Pro...
Everything loaded find, but every time I try and use it, its acts like it is caught in some kind of loop...It keep trying install and configure, then ask for my Key Code every time, sort of like a OLMAP132.Dll err...I did manage to make it work once, I even
got back the test email from Microsoft after setting up Outlook....Then when I rebooted the system, this same loop action started ...
I have uninstalled this at least 4 times, searched for anything with ties to Microsoft office, and uninstalled it..Then did a New Clean Install...Still getting this key Code question every time I open up a Office program....So, I am saying without a doubt,

Creating a new key in Windows Registry

Have been trying to use JNIRegistry for creation of a new key in Windows' Registry, and it doesn't work.

Obviously JNIRegistry is not a standard part of Java as its OS specific.
Why are you attempting to create a key in the registry with java?
I would recommend you have a look at java.util.prefs.Preferences which
uses the registry under Windows OS but also handles other os's in a way
that is native to that os.
If you have a burning need to use JNIReg, then can you please post the
code that you used? A quick look at the docs for it tells me that you
need to create a RegistryKey object for the place where you wish to
create the key and then use createSubKey().
Also the documentation mentions that the Key Class is a mirror of how
the "Windows Registry API" works, and then says to have a gander at the
"Windows Registry API" if you have any questions. I would suggest

I am developing a Fusion Web Application using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0. I have a home.jspx page that has a ADF table built on efttBilling View Object. . When you click on one of the rows in the table, it will take you to detail.jspx where you can edit the row and save. When 'save' is clicked, stored procedures are executed to update/insert rows into few tables , and then go back to home.jspx where you need to see updated content for that row.
To get down to the exact issue, updates are made to the tables on which the efttBilling View Object is built using a stored procedure. Once this is done, I am trying to requery view object to see new content. But I keep getting JBO-25014: Another user has changed the row with primary key oracle.jbo.Key error. Following are the approaches I followed to query new results:
a. Executed Application Modules Commit Method. Created 'Commit' Action binding and tied it to homePageDef.xml. Called this binding from a view scope bean.

Mapping in OWB with primary key and foreign key relationship

Hi all,
I am new to this datawarehousing field. I have just started my career. I have to now create a mapping in owb where a table has a field which is a primary key of another table in the same staging area. If you guys could help me out with the a method it can be created that would be very helpful to me.
I thought of 2 ideas,
1. If I can use a look up, but then I am not sure if i can use a lookup for primary key, foreign key relationship. If I can use also, I do not know how to use that.
2. What if I can directly take that the first table and link the primary key of that table to the second table which uses that primary key of the first table as one of its fields.
I do not know how feasible these methods are. Please guys help me out.

Well, I created new extract, starting 2012-06-01 15:30 to check if there was something with extract at the time, but got the same error.
If I run extract beging at 15:52 it starts and works.
But well, I got another one today. Data didn't look that bad, but yet one column came with null value:( And I'm using it as a key column, so I got Mapping problem with compressed key update record again:(
I'm replicating from SQL Server 2008 to Oracle 11g.
I'm actually using NOCOMPRESSUPDATES in Extract.
CDC is enabled for all tables replicated. The only thing is that it is enabled not by ADD TRANDATA command, but by SQL Server sys.sp_cdc_enable_table, does it matter?

Add a new key field in an InfoObject

Hi all,
I have to add a new key field in a standard InfoObject (0vendor) in order to extract data correctly from a table in R3 which has both the vendor and the plant as keys.
Doubts:
1. the 0vendor InfoObject is already used in several InfoCubes
2. it contains data
3. we have another object built with reference to 0vendor
Any problem with the existent InfoCubes and queries if I change the structure of this InfoObject?
Have I got to delete data on it first?
any problem on the object built with reference to 0vendor?
I have just thought of updating the object 0vendor (this would avoid lots of substitutions and lot of work) instead of developing a brand new object..
Do you agree with this kind of solution or would you do something different?

This is OK but remind that it shall remain like this ALWAYS; because if you design your model with these assumptions and later you start getting sub ranges and/or a second P.O then you can forget your model...
Replacing 0VENDOR by ZVENDOR completely will depend on your requirement; I don't know which content you are using but you should try to keep 0VENDOR as such because ZVENDOR will be compounded with 0PLANT and that's not the same... (e.g. the key will be displayed like "PLANT/VENDOR" in reports unless you drilldown the PLANT in front of ZVENDOR... your users may perhaps not appreciate...)
In this matter, how are you going to proceed?
- fill the vendor ID in ZVENDOR and have 0PLANT as compounding key? In this case you'll have to add 0VENDOR attributes in ZVENDOR as well. With this scenario you will end with redundant data since attributes for 0VENDOR will be the same for each combination 0PLANT/ZVENDOR.
- wiser: have 0VENDOR and 0PLANT both in the compounding key. This way you could have ZVENDOR key CHAR1 and leave it empty (it would be a "dummy" key you wouldn't use in reports)
The good thing here is that you don't have to replicate your 0VENDOR design in the ZVENDOR. the bad thing for you is that you NEED to keep both IObjs; thus manage your DIM issue.
Your approach to fill the cubes is absolutely right! What are the sizes of your cubes?
You should take this opportunity to check you cubes datamodel:
- are the dimension well deisgned? (run report SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS in order to see the cardinality of your DIMs). I am sure this can be improved.
- are the cubes partitioned? Every cube should be partitioned for performance reasons.
- if the cubes are huge, wouldn't it be good to do a logical partitioning? E.g have one cube per year and a multicube on top...
Finally use dimension number range buffering when loading data into an empty cube and other techniques like dropping all indexes in order to speed up your load process and minimize reporting downtime. If your reports are based on multicubes and your model is not too complex you could even keep the copy cube instead of moving your data back to the original; you would then just have your multicube transport to make the switch of the new model available for reporting...
