  • How do I install the graphics driver?

    Hi,
I have a SA20-s103 and just installed windows XP professional onto it. My recover CD had all the drivers already installed so usually I used that but it's damaged now and can't be used.
Anyways, I've downloaded the graphics driver for XP on the site but it's a .zip file and I'm not sure how the files inside are meant to be installed?
Could someone explain to me what to do with them? Theres no executable file in there.
    Thankyou.
    Regards
    Zanjabil

Create one new folder somewhere on the desktop and extract all zipped files there. In device manager open graphic card properties and click on driver tab. Use Update driver option and browse to this folder.
    I hope it will works.

  • How to switch to the Graphic HD in WIN7?

How to switch to the Graphic HD in WIN7?

When Windows is running, I believe the discrete GPU is always active. I'm not 100% certain that's true of the current models, but it has been true of all previous MBPs that had two GPUs.

  • Satellite Pro A120: I have problems with the graphics driver installation for W2k

I have installed windows 2000 on an A120 the system is fully service packed and up to date before I even begin installing the required drivers I am unable to restart the system. Once I install the drivers as recommended I have problems with the graphics driver as it will not install because it requires a restart and then I am unable to install any new programs that require a restart as the driver has not installed correctly.
The laptop is a A120 Pro, 1 week old and came with XP home, because of this toshiba will not offer me support as I have changed the O/S even though they obviously support 2000 on this laptop as they supply the drivers.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

the reason the driver is not working is down to a problem with the windows 2000 not having the ability to reboot.
When you select restart the system appears to power down then stays switched on. Now if I try to install software I get an error saying that the system needs to complete a restart to finish the install of the driver.
The restart problem happens as soon as win2k is installed as although I have now shipped the laptop to the sales team I have another one which has just had a clean install of win2k without any drivers and the fault is present on this one.
I am thinking it could be to do with power management but I'm not to sure as I have never come across this as I normally purchase machines which accept just about any O/S.

  • Black screen after the installation of the graphics driver

    Hello,
    - Recently I bought a 'GT 610' graphics card to replace the old broken one,
    - after the assembly one short beep was audible during system reboot (=OK),
    - a default windows graphics driver was installed by Windows Vista,
    - screen resolution manually set at native screen resolution (1280 x 1024),
    - (youtube movies as well as flash player worked fine),
    - the installation of the (most recent) nVidia driver went smoothly (the old driver on CD did not!),
    - after the nVidia driver installation the system restarted itself to activate the driver.
    So far so good.
    - Unfortunately after rebooting the screen got black and remained black,
    - no log-in screen, only the typical Windows start-up screen with the green progression bars was temporarily visible,
    - in safe mode I had to disable the nVidia driver to restart Windows in normal mode.
    - At this moment I can use my computer for desktop application like MS Office, email or internet browsing, not for video editing or gaming.
Question: How to enable the nVidia driver to use the graphics card's full capacity?
    Thanks.

    - Yes, the GT610 is a genuine MSI product bought in the local computer store.
    - I suppose my board (Vendor = Micro-Star International Co., Ltd --> also MSI) is an OEM product. I don't have any hard evidence, but on the internet I've found some independent threads claiming the MS-7318 is an OEM product indeed.
    - Both VGA cards (nVidia GeForce 6700XL/7650GS based) are Medion products. They have their own Medion drivers. Nevertheless in the past latest downloaded nVidia drivers seemed to work fine when installing them on these Medion PC's.
    - MS Windows XP SP2 on the provided recovery DVD is a Medion OEM product for sure.
    - My Computer model = Medion Akoya MD 8818
    - Test computer = Medion Akoya MD 8818 (same board, same PSU, same graphics card, same ...) --> But a few months ago, the original graphics card of this test PC also crashed and had to be replaced!! Weak cards these 7650GS. So, the 6700XL is a replacement for the original Medion GeForce 7650 GS in the test PC. Fortunately I could use the graphics card (6700XL) of a 1 year older Medion Akoya MD 8800 PC. This card works fine.

  • HT3986 Whats about the Wifi driver for win7 on MacBook pro with Retina Display?

    Hi guys
I have a MacBook pro with retina display.
I've tried to install win 7 64 bit with boot camp.
Win 7 works but I have now Wifi connection and I can't find any solution
I can't use the automatic search function from win7 because I can't  use LAN because I have no LAN connection in this Mac.
So can anybody help me with this problem?

Did you download and install the Windows support software. The first menu option when running Bootcamp Assistant was to download the Windows Support software.
If you did download and install the Windows Support Software and wifi still does not work for you, consult Windows help files for how to set up wifi.

    Hello Jaba,
of course the reinstallation should fix the problem, but the binary image will erase all my data or configuration "customized"
I think that there was a mismatch in installation procedure or transaction...
    Now i've finally fixed it.
    Here it is how :
I've turned off the windows logger as i've seen that registry keys were locked because wrong privileges
I've reassigned the privilieges to current user ( ludovic )
After , i've suppressed all driver with standard uninstall
    Then i've supressed all dll
Tnen i've searched for ATI key in Current control set * , services , HKEY local machine software
Then i've procedeed reinstallation => it works
So Now i've the driver installed
If you have the same problem, i suggest user to consult following articles :

    i`ve tried all possibilities

    Hi
    I can not understand this.
The unit supports the Intel GL40 graphic chipset.
The Intel driver from the Toshiba page should be ok
In readme.txt file you can find exact the same info which has been posted by Paolo30.
    1. Click "Start" then right click on "Computer" button and then choose Manage.
    2. Permit the User Account Control to run by selecting the "continue" button. When the Computer Management window opens select the "device manager" icon. (NOTE: IF UPDATING DRIVER GO TO STEP 3B)
3a. Double click "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)". (Go To STEP 4)
3b. Select "Display adapters" then Double click on the graphics controller
    shown.
    4. Click on "driver" tab and select "Update Driver".
    5. Select the following option: "Browse my computer for driver software".
    6. Select the following option: "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
    7. Click on the "Have Disk..." button and then the "Browse" button.
    8. Enter the directory where you unzipped the file you downloaded, and then enter the "Graphics" subdirectory. Locate and highlight the "igdlh.INF" (if 32-bit) or "igdlh64.INF" (if 64-bit). Click on the "Open" button.
    9. Click on the "OK" button. A window listing all of the available display types should open. Select the display adapter that your system contains and then click on the "Next" button.
    10. Click on the "Next" button. The operating system will install the driver. Click on the "Finish" button when done.
    11. Click on the "Close" button and then click on the "Yes" button to reboot. The driver should now be loaded.

  • Yoga 13 users - what is your graphics driver version after the Windows 8.1 upgrade?

I just noticed something interesting - it looks like the Windows 8.1 installation installed a very new version of the graphics driver.  Mine is showing as version 10.18.10.3316, dated 10/1/2013 (Oct 1).
    Anyone else seeing this?
I should mention that I had previously updated the graphics driver about a month ago using Intel's generic HD 4000 driver. To do that, I just went to the Intel site and ran their driver update tool from the browser - it scans your machine for Intel hardware and displays available updates. This driver tool recognized my HD 4000 and updated the driver. But the Windows 8.1 installation updated to an even newer version.
I'm wondering if my previous update was a factor in why I have this updated graphics driver, or is everyone seeing this?

I guess you're asking 8.1 users, but i must say that intel upgrade seemed to help my 8.0... thanks for the heads up.

  • Why does firefox 7 crashes the system if Quadro NVS 135M graphics driver is installed?

Why does firefox 7 crashes the system with a Quadro NVS 135M graphics cards installed?
It happens immediately after opening Firefox on a two screen system. You get a message saying the Graphics Driver stopped responding, but that it managed to recover, but after a while the system freezes completely. You can't even CTRL+ALT+DEL.

I get this too on with my nVidia GTX460 card. In my case the screen goes black. It happens once every few days, and for a while I could not figure out why. I was forcing a shutdown to get the screen back.
But I put the computer to sleep and woke it up, since that restarts the video, and this let me see what was wrong. The only error message is it reports that Firefox hung. There is nothing else in the Event logs.
I'm running Windows 7 with all the updates from Windows Update, and my video driver is 285.62, but his also happened with the 260.26 driver.
I imagine this is happening a lot, but people aren't able to isolate the cause.
I'm looking for a fix, not a bypass.

  • Reinstalling Nvidia 8600M GT graphics driver

    Hello,
I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and have experinced a problem with my graphics.
I'm in a situation where no video is playing (Youtube, avi files etc) and no pictures are displayed (grey screen).
When I drag a window across the screen, it's very jittery, as if the proper graphics driver hasn't been installed. In fact, generally, the graphics are not as smooth as usual.
The question is, how do I reinstall the graphics driver?
    Thanks.

    Two possible problems here;
    1. Your graphics card (which is on the Logic Board) is failing
    2. The HD is nearly full and there's not enough free space for your OS to work properly.
Of the two you can check the free space easily - just look at the bottom of a Finder window and read the "XX GB available". If it's under about 20GB that may be a cause.
From your description, I suspect the Graphics chip.
You can only renew the driver by re-installing the OS, but I'd be surprised if that fixes it.

  • Nvidia GeoForce Go 7600 graphics driver and IQ770 with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit edition

I have been having problems with my screen for several months now:  every so often, for no apparent reason, it loses some of the pixels.  I can still read the items on the screen, but the resolution is trashed.  It happens intermittently and then goes back to normal.  I have tried uninstalling the graphics driver and letting the computer go find it on a reboot.  This does not work.  I have also tried installing the original graphics driver.  This does not work either.
If I look in the "Problem Reports" area in Control Panel, there is a graphics related error:
Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078)  The resolution listed is to reinstall the device driver (which I've tried dozens of times without success) or to change the computer's performance settings, which also does nothing.  I still get the occasional loss of screen clarity which returns to normal all by itself.
Is anyone else seeing this problem?  Does anyone have a resolution?
I have tried the latest graphics driver available on the hp website, from 8-2008 as well as the originally installed version from January 2007.  The version of Windows is Vista Home Premium 32 bit edition, Service Pack 1.
If I completely uninstall the graphics driver, and do not reload any, the screen performance is fine, but then there are other problems, such as graphics acceleration.
    Thanks for your help.

    For the IQ700 series
If you're running Windows Vista SP2, there is a patch for USB patch for NVIDIA chipsets
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975163/
If you're running Windows 7, install this patch
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Lockups-Freezes-Hangs/Driver-update-for-Win7-USB-issue-on-nVidia-chipse...
And only use the driver from the system manufacturer's website or Windows Update. Do not use the latest drivers from NVIDIA's website for the IQ700 series

  • Surface Pro 2 Graphics driver stops apps running

    Hi,
We are having trouble with a Surface 2 Pro with Windows 8.1. Apps such as onenote, facebook and several others do not load past the splash screen(they appear open when swiping in from left).
The resolution of the tile screen appears to be lower than it should be, but all settings indicate a 1920x1080 resolution.
Disabling the graphics card fixes the problem, but causes several other undesirables. Rolling back the driver fixes the problem, but the default driver is insignificant and after every reboot/auto-update the apps stop working again. I have downloaded the
updates and service packs and manually installed the graphics driver, but the apps start to fail as soon as the graphics driver updates.
When the driver is disabled/roll backed more tiles appear on the home screen, even though the resolution is lower.
Does anyone know how i can upgrade the driver, without losing app functionality?
    Regards
    Chris

    Hi,
I have ran all updates and it says its fully updates, and I attempted to manually install device driver 10.18.10.3345,
which I downloaded from the intel site but it was 'not accredited for the platform'.
Its the 128GB version. The problem only started after upgrading to 8.1. I'll post the event logs asap.
    Thanks
