I have two options: rent sap ides or installing sap ides in my computer,
Well in the case I rent a server: someone can say me a good place to rent it, to pay $40 per month It is good?. I need to practice SAP ABAP, MM and SD for now.

Need to understand the leasing and Renting process in SAP MM. My client is a provider of large tankers for material storage and Handling Equipment (lifting cranes) for it's handling, on lease basis to their customers.
Since I'm new to this , I need to understand the leasing process for International and domestic customers in SAP MM.
E.g.

You can follow Service Procurement cycle for this.
Create Service PO with service items as Hiring charges per month, extra working hrs etc.
Then for monthly billing do service entry sheet against the service order (ML81N).

Can a condition be used for SBR and SCS simultaneously?

Hi there
I have a requirement to charge a tenant a flat rate condition type against a settlement unit, and to include that same charge as part of the minimum (sales based rent).
The SAP configuration allows you to set the attribute of a condition to either 1001 (Minimum SBR) or 0002 (Fixed SCS) but not both simultaneously.
I need to raise one condition on the contract and include it in both SBR and SCS.
Is this possible?

Hello Joe,
Config 2 Conditions
1. A with 1001
2. B with 1002 Name it similar to A with suffix SCS or similar to diff.
On Contract create 2 Conditions, Condition A linked to Sales and Condition B linked to SCS. Choose Formula on SCS Condition B = % Share in Source Condition. Assign the Object which is same on Condition A and % share = 100% and choose the source Condition as = A. This will refer Condition B to A. Any changes on (Sales) A will automatically reflect on B. Of course the other parameters on A and B will be specific to respective Conditions and you have to be careful. You can put some restriction with validations too.
Background you can have your accounting for corresponding Condition types.

SAP MMC-message sever is not being started.

In my personal laptop,I have installed SAP/4.6.Earlier it was working fine but now it is not working at all.Actually my system got affected by virus and onwards whenever I try to start application sever and database server,for few seconds it turns into GREEN and again turns into YELLOW.Really I am very poor in SAP Basis side so whatever i am getting,i am explaining.I tried to find out the technical reason behind this then found for few seconds message sever started after that it is being stop.So please help me out because I don't want to format my system.If you need more details like scrshot of error,error # then please let me know.

Hi
First you need to start the DB always then SAP. Hope you are following the same.
Check for log files in work dir. Stop SAP & restart it again. Check which log file it is updating. Paste the error message which is mentioned in the log files (dev_disp, dev_ms,dev_W* log file)

Renting car business in SAP

I am working with SAP and a client has a car rental business i wanted dome ideas how SAP handles this kind of situation without any addon .My problem is when u use a invoice the iem in question is moved out of stock , is there a way to look at this , and how can u use the service module for this secenrio.Any ideas will be welcomed

Create an item under service category 'CAR' having Car No. as your Item Code coming under fixed assets. So that you can track exactly which car has gone for rent.
Create the service type invoices and under UDF maintain the Items and charge to the customer on agreement basis.

The internal table data can be stored in the SAP directories which you can see in transaction AL11.
For example
DATA: file TYPE string VALUE `flights.dat`,
      wa   TYPE spfli.
FIELD-SYMBOLS TYPE x.
OPEN DATASET file FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
SELECT *
       FROM spfli
       INTO wa.
ASSIGN wa TO CASTING.
TRANSFER TO file.
ENDSELECT.
CLOSE DATASET file.

SAP RE-FX : Calculation of Rent is incorrect

Hi,
I need some help on an RE-FX scenario... request assistance from all the RE experts
The company wants to take 3 months minimum sales rent at the beginning of the quarter e.g Rs. 6000 for May, June, July. Thereafter based on the sales figure of the tenant, they calculate sales rent e.g Sales(May) : 1,00,000. Percentage rent: 5%, Actual sales rent: 5,000.
Now the minimum rent taken in advance is knocked off against the sales rent calculated i.e 5000-2000(for May) = 3000 (Additonal Rent to be paid)
However, the SAP is calculating the monthly amount of the minimum rent on prorata basis i.e. the minimum rent calculated for May is Rs. 2021.74 ( 6000/92*31).
92 is the number of days calculated for 3 months (May, June, July)
In RE we are generating the cash flow for minimum rent by attaching the frequency term of 3 months.

For performing adjustments -
You should have an Adjustment Rule on the Contract, which should be linked to a Condition valid for period you want to adjust. If it is free adjustment then its not that difficult. Just make sure Contract is active. Test the Adjustment in contract before trying REAJPR. Click on the Simulate button on adjustment tab for your adjustment - this is in Display mode of contract. Provide the % or actual increment, Valid from date and you should get the new rent with sucess message. This means your adjustment data on contract is good.
Once you have made sure your adjustment data is good you can perform adjustment using REAJPR. There are lot of parameters on the selection screen you need to make sure you choose correct ones with respect to free adjustment Rule, Approval setting in your config for that rule etc. Provide the % increment in the parameters tab and select whether it is occupancy or non occupancy contract, whether approval required or not etc on Activity parameters tab. Make sure you selected expected processes checkboxes on the selection screen. Execute the transaction and you will see the Adjustment proposals on the next screen for the condition(s). Select the record and click approve/Activate button depending on how you have configured the Adjustment Rule in config. Save it and you have sucessfully adjusted the condition(s).

You can create Invoices for rent in the T-Code FOYB - "Invoice for Rent:First Print", and you can also repeat the print for the invoices through T-Code FOYC.
The Menu Path is: Real Estate Management -> Rental Accounting -> Rental Accounting Correspondence.

SAP talking to another sever that is load balancing (with a content switch)

Hi All,
We are retrieving some files from an external server in SAP from an ABAP report using HTTP. The external server is also load balacing on 3 servers. There is a content server (proxy server) which carries the sap request to one of the three servers.
We are able to retrieve the files when we directly connect to one of the three server, However when SAP calls the content server, we get a HTTP code error -404 Status - Not found. Here is the excerpt of code where this error is coming up-
CALL METHOD w_http_client->response->get_status
IMPORTING
code = lv_http_code
reason = lv_status_text.
The external server (content server) is supposed to be transparent and thus SAP should be able to connect. But this does not happen.
Any ideas?

SAP REFX Rent Review

Hi Gurus,
My customer have a scenario in a contract that they have start date - 01.01.2010 and end date - 31.12.2020 and setup renewals rules every 6 years. But customer want to review rent in every 3 years (without CPI index). Is there any standard functionality where we can set up rent review dates in RECN.
Please advise what is the best practice to maintain review dates.

If you just want to be reminded, use resubmission rule.
If you want to control that rent should not be reviewed before 3 years or shoudl be reviewed every 3 years, use free adjustment and make your settings accordingly.

- For performance reasons, SAP does not support installing both servers on the same machine, as mentioned in ESP Documentation here: SyBooks Online. SAP failed to start after database restored to a new machine

Hi,
We have a SAp BW 3.5 running on a SQL 2000, recently our server is degraded and become unstable to host our BW server.
So we build another box with the same OS and DB version and patches, ran sapinst from the SAP DVD, upgraded the kernel to the same level as our current setup.
SAP started Ok with the kernel upgraded, however when we restored the backup to it, if fails.

SSO from non sap application server to SAP systems

Mysapsso2 cookie has been generated after we are login into the portal https://FQDN/irj/portal for all the backend systems in client browser. Since it is working fine. After login into the portal , while clicking the URL iview of external JBoss application sever in portal home page and it is shows the new windows pop up login page. After login into this external JBoss application server, we have configured work item for SAP ITS WEBGUI login page of the backend system inside this JBoss appliaction. Here we need to pass the mysapsso2 cookie information in SAP WEBGUI, so that login page is bypassed using SSO. Kindly do give some suggestion for fixing this issue. Kind Regards, R Rajavelu

Installation problem :- SAP 4.7 on Linux RHEL 4

Hi,
I am installing SAP 4.7 SR1 on Linux RHEL Sever 4 on Test system which have one remote window desktop.
I have successfully installed central instance by using the putty from remote desktop.
But while installing Oracle 9.2 from remote desktop I am getting the following error message.

I have got 2 solution for same on sdn.sap.com apart from that as per one solution I have change the location of java (i.e. j2re1.4.2_13 ) in following file
File :- oraparam.ini
which is located in directory /oracle/stage/920_32/Disk1/install/
But its not working in my cases I am getting new error message while executing ./runInstaller

Hi,
Thanks for your help on last error. I have followed same step and my SAP 4.7 installation on Linux goes into next step.
Now my installation into the update database statistics phase and I am getting the following error.
MUT-03010 Execution of the command "/sapmnt/HSD/exe/brconnect -u / -c -f crsyn -o SAPETS" finished with status TST_ERROR.
brconnect finished with status TST_ERROR
/usr/lib/hpux64/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libclntsh.so.9.0'.
On this error we have 2 solutions as per my knowledge either I need to change the Oracle client software from 9.2 to 10 or I need to change brtools version from 7.00 to 6.40.
I need to know which one is the best.
Moreover can you please let me know what effect I mean to say if we execute ./control.xml as per last mail from Elmar what process SAP system did ?
