Rental Movie wont sync

ok so i rented 2 different movies. i looked it up and my ipod classic 30 GB can have movie rental synced to it. but when i try to sync it to my ipod, it says it cannot be played on my ipod and the video format isnt able to play on my ipod. what is blocking or preventing movies going on there? if it is the format, how do i change it and find out what the current format is?

Yes, there is a 30 gig iPod and no, it's not a Classic. The Classic is the most recent generation of conventional iPods and only comes, as the previous poster stated, in 80 and 160 gig models.

It sounds as if what you have is the 30 gig iPod with Video, also know as a 5th generation iPod. They don't support rental movies. Sorry.

hi for some reason my movies wont sync accross from my itunes on my MAC to my gen 01 ATV. my photos and music does, i can see all the promts, i can select the movies, it starts to sync. but never completes it... when i drop down 'apple tv' in the side bar on itunes and select movie, there is nothing there... my system is streaming everything OK. but i dont seam to be able to sync the movies..
weird... any ideas out there?

Movies wont Sync (correct format, plenty of space)

Hi everyone,
I am having troubles sync my movies. Since I updated the latest itunes version I cant do it anymore.
I used to simply grab the file and drag it into my ipad on itunes but now it will stay grey with a dotted circle.
The format is mp4, I have enough space, it will show up on my ipad (on itunes) but will stay gray with a dotted circle next to it and wont sync.
I tried by sync manually, automatically and WiFi. Still no response.
Running out of options, if someone could help I will be very thankful!

Movies wont sync to my 30 gb video ipod Someone PLz Help me

I have had my 30 gig video ipod since they came out. everything is up to date(My ipod software and itunes software). Whenever i sync my ipod it says that the movies couldnt sync to it because they are not playable on it.
I think my ipod is a fifth gen. but then why won't the movies sync. Plz can someone help me.

plug in your ipod, let it automatically update, when it's finished, go to the category (TV Shows, Movies, etc) you want to go to. Select Sync All, the select the option of "Selected" (do not check mark "all") and choose what you want added to your Ipod, then go to file and Sync your Ipod. I had the same problem and this was successful for me.

i had movies on my ipod but when i got up this omrning all my music and movies were gone. luckily i had them in my library but i had to restore the ipod. now i put the music back on but my movies are still in the library but i cant sync them to the ipod. does anyone know what to do or how to help me.

Movie Wont Sync? - iTunes Slider Backwards?

I am trying to sync a movie that i purchased on iTunes last year. Every time i connect my phone the box is checked but never shows up in my phone. On top of that now when uncheck the box for the movie is INCREASES my memory storage slider at the bottom of iTunes. Anybody seen this happen before? I have tried multiple iPhones still same issue, the movie will not sync.

Thanks for that info. I will check into that. She "told" me she bought it, but maybe she did rent it instead. I am not sure which iPod she has, only sure that it is a video iPod. Its her first Mac and panics at the first sign of any problem even if it isnt one<g>

PURCHASED MOVIES WONT SYNC WITH NANO

ok first off earlier today i received a gift card in which i used to purchase 2 movies off of itunes.but 4 some reason i get the same message over and over again saying im sorry these files cannot be placed on ur ipod.at first i thought it was a new update or my ipod*which is new* but i had some spare vids on my comp in which i used to test and it turned out that every 1i used, worked. and ive been trying to contact apple rep's through some numbers i found and the lady i got basically blew me off and after that no one else picked up.........so ummmm yeah basically what im saying is HELP

All of your content should be in iTunes on the computer.
Connect the device.
Select the content desired to sync.

Purchased movie from Itunes wont sync with Iphone but rental movie will????

I purchased a movie from Itunes and it shows up in my library movies but it wont sync with my iphone. Before I bought the movie i rented a movie to make sure it works and I liked the format so I know that it can auto sync with the iphone. In they Sync section of Itunes under videos it only has 2 headings. Rental movies and TV shows. There is no option for Movies at all so it does not even come up to transfer it over to the phone like with the rental.
I have solved the problem temporarily but would love help on a proper fix. If I check the box manual merge music and videos on the summary page I can get the movie over by dragging it from the library and dropping it into the phone but it still does not show up under the video tab but is on the phone. This then deletes all my music and I have to manually sync that as well.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am using a mac book with an iphone and a move in Itunes that I actually paid for - from itunes. I just cant figure it!

I think the layout in sync could be improved for movies perhaps putting Purchased Movies right after Rental Movies. When I am on that tab, Rental Movies (I have none and it tells me so) and then TV shows are visible on the screen with lots of blank space under. I had to scroll down to find the movie sync option (which may seem pretty obvious - but with all the white space after TV shows, I didn't notice that the scroll bar had room to scroll further). Yes, I feel a little stupid (and grateful to you for making the solution so obvious), but I do think the tab layout contributed to my ineptness.

i downloaded a movie off of itunes and it downloaded but wont sync it says the ipod is synced with another itunes library do you want to erase this ipod and sync with this itunes library .an ipod can be synced with only one itunes library at a time erasing and syncing replaces the contense of this ipod with the contense with this itunes library does that mean that if i sync the movie it will erase everything on the ipod and only put the movie and if it does can i put it back on with the movie still on it

You can do it by manually managing music and videos. See:

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions

my tv shos, movies and movie rentals are not showing up on my iPad but do show up in my iTunes library. Any ideas or reasons why they aren't transferring to my iPad when I sync it?

At the moment, I only have a couple of movies in my "Videos" folder. About a month ago I did have 2 rental movies and they were in a subfolder which I think might have bee called rentals. After I watched them and aftet the 24 hour viewing period was up, they went bye-bye.
As to why you don't see any rentals, I don't think iTunes allows rental movies to be synced to another device. I know they don't allow transfer from ATV to an iTunes folder on a computer.
Did you actually rent these missing videos directly to your iPad? If so, they should be there. That's how I got the 2 rental movies that I had in my Videos folder.

Unable to sync itunes rental movie to iphone

Have an iphone 3Gs....rented a movie but am unable to sync it to my phone. Movie seemed to take a long time to download to my MacBook Pro but is in my iTunes. Have not had previous problems with rental movie.

HD content will not xfr...
when you purchase HD content, you get both SD and HD...only the SD can be synced to iPhone...honestly I've never rented HD so I can't say if you also get an SD view...but I highly doubt it so you will most likely not be able to sync an HD rental...

And just in case .... You don't actually sync rental movies to the iPad....
To transfer a rented movie from iTunes, use the movies pane in iTunes. Rented movies transfer is at the top. You must have an Internet connection to transfer a rented movie. Select the "move" arrow in the direction you wish to transfer, and click the apply button at the bottom right. Rented movies can only exist on one device at a time, they do not sync like other video, but move from iTunes to the iPad.
