  • HT201335 I want to watch an iTunes rental video on my MacBook Pro but stream the sound to my Airport Express linked speakers.  However re Airplay icon doesn't show up in iTunes when playing the rental video.  Is there a way around that?

I want to watch an iTunes rental video on my MacBook Pro but AirPlay the audio to my AirPort Express linked speakers.  However the AirPlay icon isn't available when arching the rental video in iTunes.   Is there another way?  Do I need to but an AppleTV?  I don't own a TV, hence why I want to watch on my MacBook Pro.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
With or without an Apple TV you can't send video to one device and audio to another using AirPlay.

  • Rental videos on iPad

Why don't rental videos show up under Videos on my iPad?
I downloaded the rental movie from iTunes to my computer, then transferred it to my iPad.  But when I open videos, it says there are no videos.  This has happened twice.  How do I watch the rental videos on the iPad?

Films that you've downloaded or synced onto the iPad should show in the Videos app (not in the iTunes store app) - is that where you are looking for them ?
If they aren't showing in there then try closing the Videso app completely and see if they show when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Videos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • What has happpened to the rental videos that they don't get removed automatically any longer? Are they taking up space on my iPad??

Why are old rental video's not being removed from my iPad once viewed? Are they taking up space on my iPad?

I wish that I had an answer for you, but I can't think of anything else to try. What I find so odd is that it happens to all 3 of your devices. That doesn't make sense at all unless it has something to do with how iTunes handles what is happening on the iPad when you sync your devices.
I update my iPhone 5S and my iPad 3 last night and then synced both devices with iTunes. When I plugged them into my MBP - they both showed an overcapacity it's due to "other". "Other" includes app data caches and when it grows out of proportion like that it means that something got corrupted. I synced the devices anyway, and the "other" dropped dramatically back to where it was on each device before I updated and where it should be.
What I'm trying to say is something may be getting corrupted when you sync with iTunes...what it is I have no clue.

  • TS3623 I rented a movie and can watch preview perfectly with video and audio feed as signal strength is at top when I checked. However, when I purchased rental video is fine , but I get scratched sound for audio. Any thoughts to fix?

I rented a movie and can watch preview perfectly with video and audio feed as signal strength is at highest when I checked. However, when I purchased rental video is fine , but I get scratched sound for audio. Any thoughts to fix? I rented movie within week and it worked. All previews of movies and show also works.

I have a suspicion that the problem is not in the recording device itelf, but rather in the playback-software, which is struggling with an unfamiliar audio format/codec/whatever-it's-called... I opened the file in QuickTime Player 7 (7.6.6) and selected "Show Movie Properties" and it says:
    "Video Track: H.264
    Sound Track: Integer (Little Endian)"
All current Mac systems support Integer (both Big and Little Endian) audio natively. The fact you can hear anything at all proves that the audio is playing back. The most likely problem would be a malfunction associated with the mic pickup.

  • Could not load rental video message

I Downloaded a rental movie from the iTunes Store on my iPad mini after the download the movie appeared in the videos app and I started watching almost immediately after the download was completed. After about 20mins the movie stopped playing and I got a message on the screen saying could not load video. I checked the chapters section on the rental movie and I could see all the chapters loaded. But when I clicked on individual chapters after the 20th min I am getting the same message could not load video. Apparently I could make out that only the chapters containing the first 20mins of the movie are playing and the rest of the chapters are not playing. What could be the issue? Pls help. I know the rental movie lasts for 24hrs but now that I am getting the could not load movie message how will this time period work out ? If there was a problem with the download do

  • Can't delete rental video on iPad.

I rented a video from iTunes and i never got a chance to view it all the way through. The video is taking up space on my iPad but I can't figure out how to delete it. It doesn't show up on my iTunes movie section so I can't delete it from my iMac. I have tried swipeing but it doesn't do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

i have the same problem on my ipad1, but I can't find the movie on my ipad to delete it. When I plug into my computer and select Rental on the left under devices, I see the movie in the right larger column, but don't see a way to delete in any of the itunes menus or even control clicking the movie title in iTunes.
WHen I try to update to iOS5.1, i get the message that I need to transfer this rental first to my iTunes library. ANd then it says" are you sure you want to continue?"
Maybe I should say Continue since the rental expired long time ago any way.
I don't see the movie in my Video app, or doing a search doesn't find the movie either. So it's like it isn't really on my ipad in a way.
PS: doing a transfer doesn't transfer it by the way.

  • HT203180 Rental video disappeared

Rented a video on my Mac Book Pro. When I tried to transfer it to my I-pad minii - it disappeared.
I was still charged the fee on my I-tunes account.  Any way to retrieve the rental or dispute the charge?

Before you do that, do you realize that rented movies disappear 24 hours after you start to view them?  Perhaps you started the movie then stopped?  If so, the movie goes away after 24 hours irregardless of what device you are using.

  • Viewing rental videos on different computer

A couple weeks ago I downloaded a movie to rent on my (windows) desktop.  since then I have purchased a newer (PC) laptop which has a better sound and video card.  I want to watch this video on my new machine, but can not figure out how to do it.  Any help out there? I have my computers Authorized to share everything thing.  However, the movie doesn't transfer over.  Thanks for you help!

You may be able to put it on an iPod or iOS device capable of playing it and then using the Transfer Purchases function in iTunes. If that's not an option or doesn't work, not without renting it again from that computer.

  • Rental video not working!

I rented a movie on my iPad, and now when I try to play it, all it shows is a black screen and won't let me see my other videos. I haven't used up the 30 days or 48 hours to watch it yet. I figured out how to get back to my video list, and then I try to watch the movie, but it still only shows up as a blank screen. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Try searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then try closing the Videos app completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Videos app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Rental video says unable to load on ipad

I've rented a few videos in iTunes, and want to download to my iPad2, but keep getting an error message on the iPad that "The video is unable to load".  In iTunes, the videos are in my library, and even indicate that they are on my iPad.  I can SEE the videos on the iPad in rented videos, but when I click play on them, that's when I get "The video is unable to load".  I've updated both my iTunes and iPad, and don't know where to go from here.  Help!

As is always the case as soon as I posted this I found the solution! In the downloaded section you just need to delete the "unable to download" episodes. There is no 'edit' button but instead you swipe left in the relevant episode's box which brings up the delete button. You are then able to redownload the episodes from the iTunes purchased list and they do download this time. Happy days!

  • TS1718 Rental Video Sound Quality

I have rented a video through iTunes and the sound quality is poor. Has anyone else had this problem? The sound crackles and the actors words are off time from the movement of their mouths.
