Rentals failed to download on iPad

I was downloading World War Z, on my iPad. Got an hour into the movie and then I got a message saying it failed to download. Now the movie is stuck in my downloads and will not restart in anyway. I have tried resetting my iPad and even downloaded things off the cloud. Waste of 4.99$.

Movies rental fail to download after upgrading to iOS5 on ipad2

I rented 3 movies before upgrading to iOS5. Halfway the process, it stopped, I thought it had finished upgrading. Everything looked the way it used to until I found out that all the contents (music, pictures, movies) hadn't been transferred. So I synced it again. I understand if I have to rent the movies again, which I did, but it won't start downloading into my iPad. Instead, it said 'waiting' and it's been more than 8 hours that it has waited to download. iTunes hasn't charged my account for the second rental yet, but I want to watch the movies. What should I do? Thanks.

To restart your device you just hold the Sleep/Wake button until the "Slide to power off" slider appears, slide it (the device will turn off), wait about 5-10 seconds, then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

HT3951 iTunes failed to download to iPad - no other device

I purchased an audio book - this has been paid for. But there was a problem with the download. I am not able to resume download as iTunes does not recognise a purchase has been made. There is no copy in iCloud. I have tried to go back to the book in iTunes but it says 'purchase' or preview. Advice would be helpful!

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download, so if it didn't download successfully to the Music app, and it's not in the Downloads tab in the iTunes store app for resuming, then you will need to contact iTunes Support to get a re-download.
By 'no other device' do you mean that you haven't got a computer to do 'report a problem' from your purchase history ? If you have a computer : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that audiobook and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If you don't have a computer (or if the above 'report a problem' doesn't work, which for some people it doesn't appear to, it takes them to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes), then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purhcases, Billing & Redemption

The movie had gotten to the point that I could watch it all the way through but it still said processing and got stuck at that point and when I turned off the wifi to try to restart it, it deleted its-self but did not free up any of the storage It was taking up
Restarting my iPad does not help
Some thing similar also happened to my old laptop when trying to download the iOS 5 update to my laptop when it came out. It kept getting disconnected and every time it would try to start over and act like what had already been downloaded was not there though it was still taking up the storage space.
And it continued repeating until it took up all of my storage space. The data file would not show up anywhere so I had to restore my laptop to the factory settings and that worked for awhile but I eventually had to get a new laptop.

Did you try to set it up as new device, as explained in this article?

If this does not work, use iTunes to set it back to factory settings, which would also install the latest software:

Why am I getting "failed to download iOS 8.11." Error? (iPad Air)

I've been trying to upgrade my iPad Air to iOS 8.1 for the past two days but i keep getting download errors to the effect of "failed to download iOS 8.1".
I've tried direct update from my iPad and via iTunes on my MBP 2011 and get the same error on both.
I don't think its my intermet connection as I've downloaded Yosemite since i started getting the errors with no problem.
There is over 7GB free space on the iPad so it's not a space issue.
Any ideas?

Hi Are you using a PC or Downloading over wifi I never use a PC for downloads Try a Reboot press & hold down power button & menu button hold both down until You see Apple Logo Then try download over your wifi If this doesn't work Rest ipad back to Factory Settings This will get rid of any bugs Then just sign in with same Apple ID then you will get al your Apps & data back Then download iOS 8.1 Cheers Brian

Rented movies failed to download and are gone from downloads

I rented three movies on my ipad. One downloaded successfully, the other 2 failed. I kept trying to download and they kept failing dues to space. I removed some of my other movies to make space and they still failed to download. Now they are completely missing from the downloads area. When I click on the movie in the store it tells me that the movie is already rented and is in the cloud and I need to go to downloads to download it. When I go to downloads it's not there. When I go to rentals under videos there are two grey boxes there where the two movies should be. If I click on one of them I can see the movie title and description and then there is a cloud icon. When I click on the cloud icon and log into iTunes it tells me I have to download the movie in downloads. So I'm stumped. I've tried loggin in and out of iTunes and also in settings and they are still not showing up in rentals.
Help!!!

If you moved them to your iPad then they will have been removed from your Mac. If they are no longer in the iPad's Videos app following the update then you will need to try contacting iTunes support and see if they will let you re-download them : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
