Rented movie TV out volume

Hi, I am playing a rented movie on my TV through my iPod touch using the composite AV cable. For some reason every rented movie has very low volume. That is, even when the TV and iPod are turned up full, it is still very quiet.
Any other video I play (that I have converted myself) has a lot louder volume, so there is no problem.
Does anyone know how to increase the volume of my rented movies?
Thanks very much

I ws having this issue as well.
Speaker solution...I guess that might work it would just require more hauling around stuff.
It should be noted that this doesn't work quite like people would think it would work when they purchase the cables. Yes there is a work around but well its a bummer. :O)
I had a 42 inch Sam sung Flat Screen TV that I hooked it up to and well had to have the volume turned WAY up and just about blasted my ears off because I unplugged the Iphone cables and the TV went to its regular channel and well...:O)

  • Rented movie sound out of sync in windows 8

I rented a film from the iTunes store but the sound is out of sync and gets worse as the film continues. It's a brand new laptop, running windows 8. I had this problem on my previous laptop. It seems that there are a lot of people with similar issues. Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks
    Gary

The frame rates don't match. The sequence is 29.97 and the clips are 30 fps. I can't seem to find anyplace in the preferences where I can set frame rates. Am I stuck with this.
As for the codecs, how do I check these? Most of the clips I'm using I've downloaded from YouTube.
Thanks for such a prompt response.

  • Renting movies while out of the US/Canada

I am in Romania. I download music and podcasts.....no problem. I have rented 3 movies....from 2 different computers and can down load just fine. One of my computers must not have enough memory to playback movies. The other computer plays the movie but there is NO AUDIO.
2 months ago I bought a movie on I-tunes...no Problem. My kids watched it and then when they tried to watch it a few days later......NO AUDIO.To complicate the problem the local phone company came to fix the dsl and now I have NO AUDIO and no way of knowing if the phone company did something. I have audio on everything else, including i-tunes podcasts.
So finally to the question. Romania is known for credit card fraud and movie pirating. Is the lack of audio i-tunes way of protecting their product.....does i-tunes block rentals to specific locations.

No, Apple doesn't block rentals in any location! This is definitly a problem with your computer...

  • Can I set up a password for when renting movies from my Apple TV without having to sign out?

Can I set up a password when renting movies from my Apple TV without having to sign out?

Is there an issue just signing out?  It's a chore entering itunes store password sometimes I agree but there's no way to set a local password on AppleTV - though it's a good idea as you could have a simpler one than for itunes store.
Ordinarily I enter my password for rentals though AppleTV ususally asks if I want it to remember it automatically.  If you sign out and sign back in you should get the option.

  • Rented HD Movie Audio out of sync

have itunes on a win 8 pc. latest vesrion of ITunes , rented an HD movie and the audio was horribly out of sync. tried stopping starting and restarting but it always moved farther out of sync. Any fixes for this problem other than not to rent movies?

Let's see if some of these questions might bring to light your issue:
    1) Reference movie or self-contained?
reference, though I am burning a self-contained version just to see
    2) Is this audio you've added/adjusted yourself... I mean, did you have to sync it yourself in the timeline as you were editing?
interviews - SOT and music no specific to clips
    3) Are there any 'holes' in your audio on the timeline... spaces as it where?
    no holes
    4) Would there be, by chance, a change in what ends up monitoring the audio from you watching the timeline in FCP to when you open it in Quicktime?
    5) Have you loaded the reference movie back into FCP to see if indeed it is out of sync there too?
Reference movie is out in FCP but the timeline is fine.
    6) This 'jump'... obvious jump? Slight shift over time? Same place every time? Tied to an edit maybe?
obvious jump that shifted position after I tossed the preference file.
    7) What are your computer specs?
Did you need something more specific than the specs I posted in the question? Otherwise, Dual Core Intel 2.66 GHz Mac OS X (10.4.10) 4 Gb ram 1 hour video FCP 6.0.1
    Thanks for the assist, Capt.

The photos are on the ipod.  Photo sync will erase them.  I need a way to extract them from the ipod, or to.extract them from the ipod backup that is who knows where on my PC.
I've been searching for an app to do that with no luck.  They all seem to want a newer OS than is on my ipod yet I have the most recent update installed.

This is a user to user help forum only. You are not addressing Apple here.
My iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 2 are running 6.1.3 with no such problem and the same with the overwhelming majority of iOS devices running 6.1.3.

  • HT1657 Can I watch a rented movie on a flight with out wifi?

Not sure if the rented movie is downloaded    do I need wifi to be able to view it inflight?

Please be aware of the movie rental's time limitation that you have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and once you start watching it, you have 24 hours to finish watching it. You may watch it as many times as you like during those 24 hours. It may be helpful to make sure the download completes successfully before you begin watching the movie.
Once the download is complete you can watch it without an Internet connection. However, an Internet connection to the iTunes Store is required to authorize playback or activate the 24 hours time-limit of movie rentals. This means, only during the starting of the movie. Once you have started playing the movie rental, internet connection is not required. You can play anywhere without internet connection.
You may need to validate the rental prior to watching so it starts the rental period timer and for that you will need an internet connection. You can probably do that by starting the rented movie while on the Airport Wifi or right before leaving home. You'll have 24 hours to watch the movie after you start it.
For more information on movie rentals, you can visit:
iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657
Note: 24 hours time limit is for United States customer only, while 48 hours for other countries.

  • Rented Movie Video and Sound out of sync

I love renting movies from ITunes , but there is this ongoing issue with video and sound syncronisation. I have Window 7 64bit with i7 processor and the latest version of Itunes. I have gone through the settings of altering the sound properties on Quicktime player and Windows to 16bit 44khz which had improved it alot.
But when watching a film half way through the sound appears to overtake the video. Would this be a setting on the latency currently set to 33.000ms and should increasing this cure the problem?
I'll try altering the settings on one more film , if that doesn't work then ITunes for me is history.

Does it behave the same way when you watch the video on your computer? What you observed is not that uncommon since some formats/recorders tend to loose sync between the video and audio.

  • Slow load times on rented movies

Recently we have been experiencing intermittent performance during streaming rented videos on our second generation Apple TV. For the second night in a row we would be watching a rented video when it would suddenly freeze and then say "Ready to play in XX minutes". The amount of minutes then jumps from anywhere between 59 minutes up to as long as 1 hour and 50 minutes. My thought is that it has something to do with Apple's introduction of the 3rd gen AppeTV (1080p) and rentable 1080p movies. I suspect all the bandwidth is going toward these new devices and all of us with older hardware are getting the shaft.
Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing the same issue(s).
    Thanks,
    Jon B.
PS - Wife put on a Netflix show and it worked right away with no problems. Internet is cable into a Time Capsule (802.11n). I'm not a computer novice and never have experienced these long loading issues on streaming rentals before.

    @jfricker,
I did some research about the problem online and discovered that it was OpenDNS causing the problem. If you're using OpenDNS I recommend changing your settings back to your ISP's settings.
If that's not the issue for you check your download speed by getting the free app called Speed Test. According to Apple the minimum speed should be at 6 MBit/sec for 720p.
    Check this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3623
After changing my DNS addressess back to the default Comcast ones I tried playing our rented movie again and it started right up. Kind of bummed that this is the solution because OpenDNS is pretty cool. If you don't know what it is check it out online at OpenDNS.com. Basically it allows you to block unwanted content on a network-wide basis so that you can filter content coming in to any device connected to your network... rather than setting up individual parental controls on a client by client (meaning any device on your network - iPhones, computers, game consoles, etc) basis.
The downside as it turns out is that it messes up AppeTV. :-(

  • How do I watch a rented movie on Apple TV

I rented a movie. Began to watch and had to stop. 15 minutes later, I went back to watch but cannot find rented movie.

A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
Also check your payment details, make sure your details are exactly how they appear on your credit card statement, you might also try changing some of those details, saving them and changing them back again.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.

I am tryingt to move a movie I rented on my iphone4s to my macbook so I can watch it on a bigger screen but cannot figure it out!

  • Rented movies on ATV2, can't play- An error occurred  loading this content.

When I attempt to play the two movies on ATV (Gen 2) I rented, I receive the error:
An error occurred loading this content. Try again later.
No other messages display, and it is not clear what to do next, or how to fix this issue.
I tried the following to solve:
    - latest updates for ATV (I'm on version 4.2.1(2100))
    - unplugging power, then plugging back in
    - stop "Home Share" on ATV, then turn back on
    - log out of iTunes account on ATV, then log back in
    I've yet to try:
    - reset on the ATV (on the General menu)
    - setting back to factory defaults (on the General menu)
I have not tried the above two, since the ATV is 2 days old and honestly did not think I needed to do this.
I have two Windows computers, one with Vista, one with version 7. Both have iTunes 10.2.1.1 installed. I have iTunes "Home Sharing on" for both computers, including the ATV. I can see my iTunes library on the ATV and play music; I can also play iTunes radio just fine with the ATV. I've been able to access my NetFlix account and stream movies just fine with NetFlix.
I was able to purchse the movies, but not able to play on the ATV; thus, I seem to be able to get to iTunes since I could at least rent movies.
Is there anything major to double check to make sure I've set everything up right? The book that came with ATV looked pretty plug-n-play, but I cannot get this to work (playing videos). I also have an iPhone that I just purchased- I've plugged this into the Vista computer to do sync's and get updates, but don't have it plugged in on a reqular basis.
What am I missing to try and troubleshoot?
    Thanks much!

I bought apple tv a few weeks ago. It worked to start with but was very slow and not really usable as when you picked a movie it would take anything from 20 mins to 6 hours to start. I assumed it would to memory but it doesn't so you have to sit and wait for it to start which renders it completely useless.
Then came a software update about a week ago. Since then it no longer loads rented movies. After I have paid for the movie it says press play. After that it says "unable to load content, try later"
I emailed apple support. They dont know what the problem is so they refunded my money and removed the films from my apple tv.
Apple also asked questions About my iTunes version etc which is completely stupid as this has nothing to do with itunes as apple tv is 100% independant and designed as a stand alone device.
My advise- I will get a refund and use the money to buy apple tv 1 from ebay as it has a hard drive and loads movies in the background rather than using a stream.
