Rented movies category disappeared

I can't find the option to show rented movies. Help, please. Thanks

so you rented a movie on itunes (on your pc/mac/laptop) and you can't find it in itunes anywhere? if this is correct then it isn't an appletv issue you have ?
remember that rentals can only exist on 1 device at any one time, so if the rental is still in itunes then you won't see it on the appletv. if the rental was moved to the appletv then you won't see it in itunes.

  • Movies category disappeared and Netflix also gone?

All of this was there yesterday and today when I turned on the apple tv they are gone, I have rented lots of movies and used Netflix a lot before. All I have now is Internet section minus Netflix , computers and settings?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try pulling all the cables and restarting the Apple TV and restarting your router. If this doesn't help you may need to restore.

  • Netflix, tv shows and movie category disappears.

So I unplugged my ATV2 so I could move in and when I plugged it back in I noticed that Netflix was not on there as well as the categories Movies and Tv shows are also not there now. It's like they just dissapeared. Now I also just realized my Internet is down so is that the reason why my ATV2 does not have those categories and Netflix? What should I do?

Update:  I unplugged the Apple TV and then replugged.  All is well now.  I have seen (perhaps) about 4 issues with the ATV2 since I've owned it--unplug and replug resolved those issues.  I have an idea (unsubstantiated guess) that unplugging and replugging is the best way to go to resolve many issues (rather than "reset" for instance).  At least it has worked for my few issues.

  • Rented movies not working

I just recently rented a movie on iTunes but when I tried to play it, it wouldn't work. I thought maybe it was a problem with iTunes, so I tried playing it in Quicktime but it still didn't work.
Then I noticed the rented movie wasn't showing up on my 'Purchased Items' list and that the cost of the movie hadn't been deducted from account. It is still listed under my 'Rented Movies' category, though. Is there something I can do to fix it...?

I have 4-5 mbps for Downloads.  It works fine when opening websites and downloading large files from the Internet.  I have set-up my IP to "automatically" as you suggested, even though I believe this was the default setting.
I changed the resolution in Settings > Itunes Store > Video Resolution from 1080p to 720p.  Then I rented again "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen", (but now using HD 720p) and I get exactly the same error.
Then I changed it to Standard Definition and now is working.  Basically what I have found out is that if I rent movies in HD 1080p or HD 720p it will simply not work.
I believe 4-5 mbps is very fast internet connection, so the errors above should not be appearing.
Feedback for Apple TV developers is to show estimated time for full downloads when using 1080p or 720p so the user can understand what is going on. Very frustrating as I just bought the Apple TV for watching HD movies. I have a 55" HD Sony Bravia tv ready to be used... !!!

  • HT1390 Rented movie disappeared from iTunes

I rented a movie, and it downloaded. There was a problem with viewing the movie, so after it downloaded I restarted iTunes to find that my movie has disappeared. 5 EURs is pretty expensive to watch 5 minutes of a movie. Apple, where is my movie?

  • Rented movie disappeared

My rented movie disappeared from my ipad before watching, and now I cannot find it in iTunes either?  Can anyone help?

I have had this problem but this is how I sorted it out: on your computer search the name of the film you have rented. When you see it, double click it and it should appear back in your iTunes library.

  • Rented Movie disappeared before 24 hrs

I rented American Gangster 2 days ago and started play at approx. 5:15 P.M. eastern time. Yesterday I went to resume play at 3:00 P.M. and the movie was gone from "rented movies"
Today at 7:45 A.M. I went into movies on my TV and it was downloading again. Does anyone know if there were any global glitches yesterday in the iTunes store? I did not rent this movie again and was going to contact the iTunes store to look into a credit, but lo and behold the movie is back, apparently giving me a new 24 hour window.
    Any similar experiences?
    Thank you.

    Follow up to previous post:
Download of movie completed and immediately disappears from "rented movies". I guess an email to iTunes store is in order.
    Thanks,

  • Why did my rented movie disappear shortly after purchasing and playing it?

Can someone please tell me why this happened?

iTunes Store Movie Rental FAQ - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657
How long do I have to watch a rented movie?
You have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and 24 hours (in the US) or 48 hours (elsewhere) after you've started viewing to finish it. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library.

  • Rented Movies disappear Apple TV 6.0

I just updated my Apple TV to the version 6 software but when I went to watch one of the 2 movies I had previously rented, they have disappeared. Rented movies used to be displayed on the top row of the screen, preceding the "Top Movies" listings when one has the "Movies" tile selected on the lower portion of the screen. But neither of my rented movies is there. I tried renting another movie to see if this disappearance was a problem with my account, but after renting (and selecting the "Rent now, Watch Later" option on the screen, but that movie is not showing up where the rented movies used to be, either. It shows up as "rented" in my iTunes account on my computer when I view recent purchase, but I can't find it anywhere on the Apple TV.
Anyone else find where they hide the rented movies?

Having the same issue here.  Signing out of iTunes on the Apple TV didn't seem to correct it.  Any other suggestions?

  • Rented movies disappear off iPad before rental period ends

    Hi
2 of my rented movies (which had over 10 days left in the viewing period) randomly disappeared from the Videos app. I could see the movie covers in the Videos app, and then the app died. When I restarted the app, the "rental" tab was no longer visible. I cant seem to find the movies even if I connect the iPad back to my MacBook/iTunes
    Any similar experiences/suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to the iTunes Help viewer...
"A rented item expires 30 days after you rent it or 24 hours after you begin playing it, whichever comes first. Expired rentals are deleted automatically"
If you had started then stopped the movie(s), then it's possible the rental time expired.

  • Rented movies from apple store disappeared before time

rented movies from apple store disappeared before time is up?
How do i retreave movies i have purchased and not yet watched that disappear.

Had you started to watch it? Once you press play you only have 24 or 48 hours (depending on location) to finish. Also, if you watch anything else or turn off the ATV the rental will be flushed and need to be reloaded. Go to the settings, iTunes store, check for rentals in that case.

  • Rented movie disappeared in hours?

iTunes 12.0.1.26       OS 10.1     Macbook Pro retina late 2013
Just a few hours ago local time, I rented the SD version of Anchorman (£2.49p). It started to download, then a window said it was ready to play (before total download was completed).
I started watching until it stopped playing after about 20 mins. I assumed this was because of the incomplete download so I put it away.
3 hours later I decided to watch the rest but it has gone, unlisted in the 'Rented movies' section.
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Graham

  • Rented movie on iTunes which stops playing then disappeared

I rented captain America this evening. Approximately 12 minutes in it froze. I force quit iTunes and restarted the computer. The rented movie was not showing up in iTunes upon restart. I rented it again and started watching it again. Same thing happened. This time I ran software update. Again, the movie would not show up under the "rentals" folder in iTunes. Tried searching in "movies", "purchases", etc. No luck.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure your itunes and quicktime are updated.
Also, I'm pretty sure you need to be connected to the internet to be able to play a rental.
If you're still having issues...try emailing into itunes support. They usually have good advise on how to fix something like that and they'll usually let you redownload the rental if it dissapered on you.
