Rented movies on iTunes will not play?
I rented a move on iTunes and in the middle of the movie I paused it and when I preset play the movie was still not playing? I runing the latest version of iTunes.
Do the movies move but not play? Or do they not move? If you can post more details, including your model of iPhone and the OS version it's running and the version of iTunes you have, perhaps someone here can help you sort out the problem.
As to contacting the iTunes Store, you can contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find an "Email Us" button). But they'll probably have you go through troubleshooting steps first, so you might want to do so here, which is often easier and more helpful, before you contact the iTunes Store.

Rented movie downloaded but will not play
I have an USA Apple account. I am currently in the Philippines. I rented a movie thru Itunes. It is downloaded but will not play. Is there a fix for this?

ThanksI spoke to Apple Care today and they told me to reset the VIdeo Card preferences by re-starting the mini whilst holding down command/Alt/P/R until a second start tone sounded. It seemed to sort out my problem.
But the real reason why it worked was that I had plugged in a keyboard and was not controling the Mini using Screen sharing (via Macbook Air) as I normally do. As soon as I went back to screen sharing the movie would not play again.
So if you are playing movies on a mini don't control using screen sharing. -
Rented movies on iTunes will not sync to AppleTV
When I try to transfer a rented movie to the AppleTv I get an error msg: "movie" was not copied to the Apple TV because it cannot be played on this Apple TV" All other files; music, pictures, TV shows, owned movies transfer without any problems?

just to confirm, is this a rental that was rented in itunes on your computer? or rented on the appletv?
reason i ask is that you said "when viewing the appletv in itunes".
rented movies made on the appletv cannot be moved anywhere. they are locked to the appletv.
only movies rented in itunes can be moved to other devices.
basic things to try first.
reboot the appletv
restart itunes PC/mac
make sure the appletv can access the internet. -
Movies in iTunes will not play
I've got a load of movies I've put into itunes that play perfectly well - all h264 videos. If I go to front row and try to play them, I'll get the spinning gear for a split second and nothing. It won't play them or any other videos in iTunes. However, it is playing video podcasts ok and if I drag one of the unplayable videos into my movies folder, it can play it!
Any ideas?Are you going through the "Music" option (that goes through iTunes) or the "Videos" option in Front Row? You might see if they'll play through the "Videos" option.

from iTunes will not play on ipad2This has been an ongoing problem for me too. With my iPad 2 I buy a tv show or rent a movie and it does not show up in the Video App. This is very frustrating (= very upset Apple customer) You spend money to see something remotely, wait along time to download it, potentially incur or use precious minutes with your limited data plan and in the end can not view it. Additionally, the entire process has some severe usability issues. Why do you have to go to another App to see your movies. When you click purchase you should be first presented a download time bar and then either as it is in the midst of being downloaded be able to start watching it and/or after it has been downloaded you should be provided the movie to view it. Not bumped to the landing page of the iTunes App. how stupid is that. So you are there at the landing page for iTunes. Your first inclination is to try to navigate within iTunes to see it. If it is a,TV show that you rented your first inclination is to go to the TV show section. Then form there you will like deduce that you need to go to Purchases. but when you click Purchases it instead takes you first to Music purchases. Then you might see or realize that there is a,TV show tab in the Purchases section, so you go there and and as opposed to showing you a chronological list of most recent individual purchases is defaults to a list of full seasonal TV show purchases, so then you see the seasonal show and it show an iCloud butont to download then entire season, hmm that would suck to then download the entire season, use all your minutes and then not be able to view any show cause even thoses don't show up in the Apple video App. I mean come on this really terrible, TERRIBLE useability.
So I have gone to the Apple Video App and nothing shows. I have done a search from the Apple search you can access when swiping right from the initial page of App icons. I actually see the TV show name listed from the title name search I do. And indeed it shows an associated Video App icon but when I click it momentarily (split second looks to be loading the video App and then crashes? And takes me back to the first screen of App icons.
So I simply can not watch any show with ITunes.
Netflix on the hand make the entire process a one click experience. -
iTunes will not play any songs from my library. When I click on the song to play the title appears in the box as if it is going to play but the the bar does not move and then the title disappears and a bunch of lines appear.
When I play a video, movie or TV program the video plays fine, but no audio comes out.
Audio and video work fine in any other application and all the system sounds work fine. I can also play audio and video fine using Windows Media Player.
I have shut-down and restarted several times and even let the computer stay shut-down overnight, but to no avail. I have upgraded to the newest version of iTunes and QuickTime. I have also made sure I have the most current version of all audio and video drivers for my laptop. I have also update Vista to Service Pack 1. I also noticed that MS Silverlight also loaded, so not sure if this could be causing my problems.
Any help that anybody can provide would be greatly appreciated.Finally was able to fix the problem. Here is what I had to do:
1. Uninstall MS Silverlight
2. Install all new Audio and Video drivers (even though they were already the newest versions I had to re-install them).
3. Installed newest MS Windows Vista upgrade.
4. Restarted computer
5. Made sure all my audio settings were set to use the proper speakers.
Now everything is working fine. -
After updating to windows 8.1 iTunes will not play video
I recently updated to Windows 8.1 but since i have my iTunes will not play video i previously downloaded from the iTunes store. The video will play in QuickTime without issue though, please help
sorry it's not my apple id. it's my icloud email/account. after i updated to ios 8.1.2 my icloud acct on my phone is wrong. it's using my old college email address instead of my current icloud account email. my old college email address *used* to be my apple id, but i changed my apple id to my gmail account a few months back. anyway i can't "sign out" or delete the icloud account bc it thinks my college email address is my icloud account and it keeps asking for the password. so i'll type in the current password for my icloud account and it says it's wrong and i need to retry or change the password, which i've already done twice and nothing changes. probably bc its asking for the password associated with the college email address it thinks is my icloud acct.
i can access icloud on my desktop without a problem... make any sense? do i have to restore my phone now or is there a solution? i've wasted the last 2 days trying to figure this out. i can't send or receive emails on my iphone bc of this. which really ***** for work. -
Itunes will not play a number of songs in my library as they were purchased a long while ago using an email address and ISP that I no longer use. When I try and play them I get the message "this computer is not authorised to play this song, authorise your computer now". Any ideas?

Itunes will not play if Chrome is running
I recently installed iTunes 12.1 on a Toshiba Satellite running win 8.1. Problem is that when Goggle Chrome is running iTunes will not play. My library is there and the progress bar shows at the top of the screen but it stays at 0:00. If I close Goggle Chrome, and restart iTunes it works fine. Chrome is the 64 bit version up to the latest revision. This is a brand new install so all software is current and patched. Any Ideas Why?

I have just upgraded to the latest version of OSX as invited by Apple. Since then iTunes will not play and my volume controls have stopped working - in Preferences the sound controller is not able to find any input or output devices. What is going on?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
There will be no audio output in safe mode. The question to be answered by the test is whether any devices are listed in the Sound preference pane. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
