Renting and buying

cant we buy on the itunes store HD Movies? I cant find any! And by the way, does the movies come with the option of adding subtitles? my first language aint english and i really need AT LEAST english subtitles. somebody help!

HD movies are only available to rent, and can only be rented on the appletv.
SD movies can be bought and rented on both appletv and itunes.
selected movies have subtitles, but not all. any movie with the "CC" logo on them will be closed captions which is the closest to subtitles on itunes.

  • HT1498 The 'Cast and Crew' credits when renting and buying movies

The 'Cast and Crew' credits when renting and buying movies only shows the Director, Actors and Producers... Surely there should be a fuller credit list? At least the heads of each department?

If the films aren't including all the credits then that is because the studios aren't including them in the film's file that they pass to Apple. You can try leaving feedback for Apple, but ultimately it's the studios that will have to provide the info in their films : http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Greyed out rent and buy buttons on itunes  - using iPad2

    Dear All,
    Seeking the collective wisdom.
I am unable to rent or buy videos from itunes on my iPad2. The "buy it" and rent it" buttons are greyed out.
The only feasible explantion so far would have been if there were restrictions on but I have checked and the restrictions are turned off
It may not be related but I purchased a series of TV shows from iTunes on my iPad and although they are showing as purchased and downloaded, they do not appear in my video app library
I have synced the iPad with my PC and can watch the TV series on iTunes there but not on my iPad.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance for your consideration
    Robin

Your parental controls are likely restricting you:  Settings>General>Restrictions, then toggle to "ALL" on shows/movies etc

  • HT1657 Renting and Buying movies through iTunes

If I rent a movie and then choose to buy it, can I buy it at a discounted price?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Unfortunately not.

  • Whats the difference between renting and buying the movie in itunes?

what's the difference if you buy the movie or just rent it from the itunes store?

Buy: you can watch it as many times as you like; and it stays on your iPad.
Rent: you can watch it for 24/48 hours only; and it will disappear from your iPad

  • Renting and buying movies

If I rent a movie, then decide to buy it, do I get a discount on the buy price?

Just curious, are you 100% certain? If so, this is such a let down!

  • Can you buy something using your own apple account on someone else's iPad? If I log in and buy stuff for a friend and then give it to her, can she then log in and buy/rent more things using her own account? Want to give it loaded with starter things!

My friend is sick and I want to buy her an iPad and load it with my songs and buy her some apps and movies. Can I give it to her and then she can log in using HER user name and buy more things? It might erase all I gave her? Not sure what to do because she won't have time or energy to fool around with all the great things there are and would appreciate us doing that part for her. Later, when she is feeling better, she may want to rent a movie or buy and app. Not sure how this works.
    Thanks,
    Jan

You friend has no legal right to any songs bought from your account and will lose them when synced.
    There are gift options.

  • Can't rent or buy movies from iTunes

    Rant On:
I am completely frustrated and angry about how iTunes is supposed to rent or allow purchase of movies.  I have not had one movie rental out of several tries that went successfully without having to contact Customer Service and complain.  I purchased "Looper" & watched it on my iTV over the holidays, and now it cannot be played on either my Mac Mini or loaded to my iPhone 5.
The movie appears in my iTunes Movie library on my Mac Mini.  When I tried dragging it to my iPhone, I got a strange error message that the movie was still "in the cloud" and wasn't available until I download it.  I can't see any way to accomplish this. Once I tried moving it the first time to my iPhone, it now won't let me move it again at all.
If I go to the movie on iTunes from my iPhone, I see a "Download" button but the movie won't download since it's > 50 MB.  When I go to iTunes from my Mac Mini, it only offers me the choices to rent or buy the movie again.
Just incredibly frustrating.  I definitely DO NO RECOMMEND anyone trying to rent or buy movies from iTunes!!!

Answers can only be as helpful as the details provided, and none have been given here.  What did you do to try to buy or rent something?  What happened when you tried?  Did you get an error?  If so what was it.  Just posting "did not work" is not going to get you very far.

  • Are there other options for renting and downloading movies?

I have watched movies downloaded from Apple a couple of time, but I really don't like the iTunes interface - my main complaint is that there is no way to filter movies so that I can quickly scan for rentals.
I rarely watch any movie more than one time, so I have no interest in buying a movie - I only want to rent, and it is a huge waste of time to hunt through iTunes movies one by one to see if I can rent it or not.  It just not worth my time.
I don't know if Apple plans to fix this shortcoming or not, but until then, are there other options for downloading rental movies to watch on my MacBook Pro or my iPad?  Online streaming is fine, and I use Netflix and others for that, but I would like to get movies to watch on airplanes and other places where I don't have an internet connection.
    Thanks

Try NFS. SMB is for connecting to Windows servers.

  • Flex View Online, Try to Rent or Buy movie or tv show, get error message

When I click rent or buy and then click purchase, the screen changes to a loading symbol. And then switches to a message about being unable to process the transaction at this time, telling me to please try again later.
About a month ago I ordered several episodes of a TV show. But the charge was never posted to my verizon account. I think that may be why it is not authorizing any new transactions.
    Any suggestions?
My account is up-to-date, not past due or anything.

  • On oct 14, I couldn't rent or buy or download already purchased movies on Apple Tv

On October 14th, I could not rent or buy (or download pre-purchased) movies on Apple Tv.  I was able to directly on my MacBook but not through wireless using the apple TV function.  It would bring up the movie, play a preview, allow the "rent" function..appear to download for 2 seconds then return to the previous menu without downloading anything.  This was not happening at 3 pm but after 6 pm and continuing into October 15th.  Location- Toronto.

I talked with senior Apple support tech staff today.  The bottom line  is they have acknowledged that the issues assocated with accessing,  renting, or pruchasing video content via the Apple TV hardware is a  software specific problem associated with the Apple TV box - a software  glitch.
They  are working on a software update to rectify the problem(s).  In the  near future (I was told this could be within 24 hours to a few days) you  may be prompted for a software update when you turn on your Apply TV.   Download the software update and then test to see if you can access,  pruchase or rent video content.  If the software update does not work,  post on this thread.  They said they would give me a call after the  update is available and also stated they wanted to hear if the update  does not work.

  • Sort by rent vs. buy

Is there a way within iTunes to sort the movies and TV shows depending on whether you can rent vs. buy them? Many of the movies that I'd like to view are buy only and I can only find out after I pull up the movie detail.

Click on this link and it should open iTunes and give you a search screen in it (I don't know if/how you can access the screen directly within iTunes) : itms://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/advancedSearch
On that search screen you can select Films/Movies on the left-hand side of the screen (instead of 'All Results'), and then on the next screen tick the 'search films that acre available for rental' tick box and then click 'search'
