Renting Movie Problem

I tried renting a movie the other day and when I tried entering in id password it would not accept my apple id/password. Tried many different times and made sure I use proper case. Went back to computer and tried logging in with my apple id/password on itunes and had not problems logging in
Any ideas do you need to do something to enable your apple tv to rent movies?

Ok, since I couldn't find what the problem was in the forums, I called support. Here's what you do: 1. unplug the ATV and leave it alone for a few minutes, 2. go to your "iTunes" computer and de-authorize your computer from the "store" menu...and leave it alone for a few, 3. re-authorize your computer from the "store" menu, 4. plug in your ATV and make sure the settings are correct in the "iTunes Store" section of the settings menu. 5. Try your purchase again!!!
This repaired my problem and it was fairly easy. Apparently, all it needed was a reset/reboot or something. Call tech support if it doesn't work. Good luck!

  • Rent-Movie-Problem -1309

    Hey Communitie,
I've got a third time problems with Rent-Movies on iTunes.
I have the white MacBook from 2009 and all my stuff is updated!
I rent three movies on iTunes:
    - "Tron: Legacy" in September 2011
    - "John Carter" in May 2012
    - "Hunger Games" in August 2012
All movies stops exactly on 4GB with the default-message "-1309", that I don't have internet-connection, but this is not true, all other downloads (series, apps etc.) still working at the same time. So the Apple-Support must still delete the downloads from these rent-movies... nothing other I can do!
All other rent-movies I've done still works.
The same movies I've rent on my iPad and there still working too... So I don't understand, where is the problem on my MacBook.
    Can anyone help me?
Ich bin natürlich auch in Deutsch zu erreichen.
    Grüße

  • Rented Movies-Problem Error 5103 HELP!!

The error message that you describe is most likely caused by an incorrect date and time setting on your computer. If the date and time are not correct, you will not be able to access the movies you rented.
To change your computer's date and time, go to the Control Panel and enter the Date and Time category. Make the necessary adjustments so that the date and time are set automatically.
This is what iTunes Support is sending me. the date and time is set correctly and i keep getting this error. does anyone know of a way to fix this error

I have the same issue with rented movies and the ipod touch. It gets all the way to the end of the transfer then contacts iTunes store then BAM....
The rented movie "movie name" could not be transferred to the iPod "iPod name" because and unknown error occurred (5103)."
Reformatting the HD is an outragous fix. There has to be someone at apple that knows what is happening here. I get so frustrated talking to someone reading from a script. "reboot your computer", "reinstall iTunes", "but first you have to uninstall quicktime".... What happened to knowledgable support people??
It's almost 1:00 AM, I have a plane to catch in 5 hours, sure wish I could watch the movies I rented, paid for, downloaded, and can't move them to the player.
Never have cared much for apple, want to change my mind? FIX IT!

This is a user forum, you are not addressing Apple. If you have verified that your billing info is correct then you will need to contact iTunes.

  • Rented Movies problems on Apple TV

When trying to view a movie we rented, it would not play and gave us the message that it needs HCDP for playback, which has something to do with our HDMI? WHat is the reason it is not playing?

HDCP is a protection system that works within HDMI.
Content with HDCP protection will require the device that is playing the content (your tv) to check with the device that it is connected to (your display/tv) that it's not capable of recording the content and if it doesn't get an appropriate response from it will not send it a signal.
It sounds as though your display/tv is not HDCP compliant.

  • HT1657 Hi, at the moment I can only seem to watch a rented movie once - previously I used to be able to watch it as many times as I liked during the 48hr window.  Anyone else have this problem?

Hi, at the moment I can only seem to watch a rented movie once - previously I used to be able to watch it as many times as I liked during the 48hr window.  Anyone else have this problem?

    This doesn't seem right.
I paid for a rental and downloaded an HD movie, Avatar. I could start watching within about a minute, it played without skipping a beat.
My wife started watching the movie the next night and got about half way through.
The next day, she tried watching the rest, and selected the film and clicked on "resume watching".
But instead of streaming and playing like it should, we got the spinning wheel of death followed by a message "Ready to play in 1 minute" which soon became "Ready to play in 2351 minutes"!
Additional information that I can add is that it was Sunday afternoon which is peak time for internet usage and I'd just exhausted my data allowance before the speed limiting kicks in. Basic internet using browsers at that time was really slow.
So it was as though the movie we were going to resume watching was going to be downloaded from the iTunes Store again, and since my connection had been speed limited, it was going to take forever. I thought you downloaded a rental to your hard drive and it deleted itself after it expired? So any subsequent streaming to AppleTV would be coming direct from your hard drive. It shouldn't have been affected by the speed of my internet connection at that time, surely. Anyone else experienced this?
Actually, I just noticed this post, I'm sure it's related...:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12398832&#12398832

    Hey rangermikegsm,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re concerned because you don’t see your rentals in iTunes, but they appear to have downloaded. Take a look at the article below and check the Rentals tab in iTunes on your MacBook.
About renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
    Find movies you rented previously
Find your movie on the device you used to rent it.
On a Mac or PC: Go to the Rentals tab in the Movies section of the iTunes Library.
On an iOS device: Go to the Rental tab of the Videos app.
Using Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation): Look in the top shelf of the main menu.
    Ciao,
    -Jason

  • Problem renting movies with Apple TV

Having a problem renting movies using Apple TV with Comcast cable and Netgear gigabit wireless router.  After selecting a movie to rent and clicking "rent" a message appears: "Accessing iTunes Store", after some delay a second message appears stating an inability to connect to iTunes store, try again later. This issue is intermittent. At any given time a movie can be rented and streamed, but more than 50% of the time, the rental fails.

We're not really sure as yet - there certainly seem to be no comments on subtitling as a feature.

Problem with viewing a rented movie. Whem I try playing it I get a message saying my apple tv is not authorized.

is this a rental from the Apple TV or one you have in iTunes. If from the Apple TV try restarting the Apple TV, if from iTunes, try de/re-authorising your account.

I cannot play my rented movie because itunes cannot locate where the original file, has anyone face this problem before? Where can I find the location of the downloaded movie?

What did you use to download it with? iPad? iPhone? Computer?
If it's an iPad/iPhone, play it using the videos app.
If on the computer, look on the left side of iTunes in the library under movies.

  • Anyone else having a problem getting rented movies to play?

rented movies will download, but when I try to play them it says unknown error. Anyone had this?

I'm having this problem as well. Did you ever find a resolution? I have a 2nd generation iPod and it doesn't show up as a device on my itunes account. When I connect it, the iPod icon shows up on iTunes but when I click the icon, it disappears. I can't figure out how to edit the content on my iPod. It used to be so easy, but maybe since it's an older unit it's obsolete?? So annoying. I have updated the software and run diagnostics, but its not recognizing the device. Please comment if you found any answers to your issue, it might help me too!

  • Problems whit renting movies in apple TV

I have problems with renting movies on my apple TV. When i have entert my CVV code, appel TV tells me to verify my payment information in iTunes Store. Everything seems to be rigt in iTunes Store. Anyone ho knows how to fiks it?

The limitation of approximately 200 titles has been discussed before, we can't be sure whether it will be something that gets fixed or not. I'm not really sure what your other issues are, if I use search instead of lists, I find whatever I want and am able to rent or purchase subject to those options being available for that particular title.
