Renting movies from my ipod touch

I tried renting a movie on my ipod touch. I clicked "rent" which was interrupted by a new set of terms and conditions. After agreeing to the terms and conditions it told me to try my rental again so I did. My account has been debited for 2 movie rentals but I cannot find them anywhere. Also, I have not received any emails about recent purchases which I thought was curious. In the past I have rented movies from itunes on my computer and successfully transferred them to my touch, this is the first time I have tried to rent directly from my touch. Any ideas where my movie might be?

Pics and videos taken with the ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  This is covered in the manual.

  • Can't transfer rented movies to 2Gen Ipod Touch

I recently recently rented two SD movies from the Itunes store.  When I tried to transfer them from my itunes to my Ipod Touch (2GEN) I got an error that says they were not copied because the video format is not supported by my Ipod.  I have rented and watched movies before however that was like 5 years ago.  Is my Ipod too old to support current Itunes rented movies.  Is so, can I get my money back for my rentals?

Are you sure they were SD? This says your iPod supports SD

  • How do i transfer a rented movie from my ipod to my computer

I rented a movie from itunes onto my ipod. It doesn't appear under purchases but i can veiw it from videos . I decided that i would prefer to watch it from my computer (windows vista, I tunes version 10.6.3.25) but when i sync my ipod (IOS 5.1.1) it transfers my other movies that i bought but not the movie that i rented. I can't find the rented movie anywhere on my Itunes. Does that mean I cannot transfer movies that i rented on my ipod?

  • Can't Move rented movies Macbook to iPod Touch

Rented 2 Movies from iTunes.  Downloaded both to Macbook.  Syncing iPod touch to Macbook, selected Move the movies to iPod.  Received error message Cannot move movies to iPod because they are in an unsupported format.  Very Odd since they came from iTunes store and I have done this dozens of times before.  An older movie that i had ripped did transfer ok.  Movies are MPEG-4, rented "Protected MPEG-4".  I am traveling and would like to have these movies on my iPod.

Itunes support answered the question.  It happens that my version of iPod touch won't support the HD format.  Had I rented the movie in SD i would have been able to complete the transfer

  • How do I sync movies from one iPod touch to another

I'm trying to sync it to my brother's account

You can't transfer directly from one iPod to another, the songs have to be in iTunes and you update your second iPod from there. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved also it was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation as the iPod preferences are no longer in the location described. Also it won't transfer playlists or videos as far as I know. However if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes

  • Expired movie rentals not deleted from my iPod Touch

I have rented 3 movies during the last month. Transferred from iTunes to my iPod Touch to watch on my TV. After 24 hours of watching these movies, they expired. However, they are still there in my iPod, inaccessible but still there. When I turn on my iPod I can see them in my list of rentals for about one second, then they disappear from view. Also, when my iPod is connected to my Mac, in iTunes, under Devices > iPod, there is an entry for "rented movies" and the three movies are there, but all grayed out so I cannot delete them. Even if I cannot delete them from my iPod, I think they are taking up space, because the space occupied by Videos is much more than what I really have. How do I delete these expired rented movies from my iPod? I know they are supposed to be deleted automatically after expired, but not in my case. However, previous movie rentals have been deleted normally, this just started happening last month.

I got a reply in another thread which solved the problem on my iPhone 3G. Here is the advice that worked for me:

click on the iphone icon in the left panel and go to summary, check manually manage movies and music, click the drop down arrow to the left of the iphone icon, click "Rented Movies"....delete the unwanted movies.

  • Have iPod Touch and want to view rented movies from iTunes on our TV

We have an iPod Touch. I rented movies from iTunes. We would like to connect the iPod to the television so the whole family can watch at the same time. We did a little research and was told to buy a "Eforcity Premium Retractable Apple iPod AV Composite Cable, White [Compatible with: iPod with Color Display / including iPod Photo / iPod Video (including U2 Special Editions of iPod Photo &Video)]" which we did. In our research it said in the instructions it said to access the "TV Out Video Setting". My husband can't find it and hence is unable to get it to work. Can anyone help? Thanks so much.

I don't think that cable is compatible with the iPhone or the iPod touch. I know the old Apple AV cable wont work with the iPod touch, you need either a Apple Composite AV Cable or an Apple Component AV Cable. See here for more info http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1454?locale=en_US.

    - If you restored the 5G frmm the iTunes backup of the 3G were th app in the iTunes library of the computer you used? They have to be.
    - If yes then try again. When I first restored my iPad 4 from the iTunes backup of my iPad 1 app data did not transfer. I tried again and it did.

  • Moving Rented movies from computer to ipod

I need some help. I have a one year old ipod classic.
I cannot seem to move rented movies from my computer to my ipod.
When I plug my ipod to my computer and hit the movie tap, I do not see the movie.
The move is showing on my computer, but it does not give me a choice to move it to my ipod, like I have seen on other help sites.
Do I need to turn something on my ipod?
I have loaded TV shows to the ipod and watched them, but I cannot move the rented movies.
I checked to see if I have the updated software, and I do.
Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The iPod you have (incidentally, the same one I have) can essentially watch TV shows, Movies, and Music Videos, but no rental movies. I was met with the same disappointment when I discovered I cannot put rented movies onto my iPod. It is sort of a shame, as I'm not entirely convinced there's a hardware element missing from my iPod preventing this from being supported.
Sorry I didn't have better news for you. You might want to consider emailing iTunes Store support and seeing if there's some way they can compensate for this, as the file purchased is not compatible with your device. Since the files are set to disappear after a certain amount of time within beginning playback, I'm almost sure they'd be able to determine whether you've viewed the movie yet.
