Reocords keeping system for hits on the resulltant queries....

Hi Everyone,
I am new to EndecaTechnology. In terms of Endeca consider the scenario ,"When Indexed data properly present inside the application" (Server) and at that time whatever request we are doing for any search term from different locations(clients). Where the endeca server actually stores the record for that. t.e. no. of hits for particular results, how many time particular record was searched.
Is there any specific flat file or record file keeping
We have to do some customization for record keeping the above data.(Please define any document , supportive plugins etc)g system present inside Endeca.

Hi,
Endeca does not store these type of analytics information for your application by default, you will need to use Endeca Logging API in your application code for this purpose. If you are using default application configuration created by Deployment template, there will be a logserver component included where application logs this information using Endeca Logging API.
And for viewing all these reports you can use Endeca Workbench > Daily/Weekly report viewer.
Log files will be stored in below location,
*<Endeca installation>/apps/Discover/logs/logserver_output/LogServer.2012_11_16.20_18_39*
and reports generated will be stored at,
*<Endeca installation>/apps/Discover/reports*

My iphone 3g is keep searching for network, and the carrier unable to load network list , wat shall i do?

Yes, that kind of tallies with my experience ... after 3 days of useless iPhone 3G (BTW, killing 3G on the phone and relying on acquiring AT&T 2G didn't help, it still locked onto T-Mobile with the result that it was draining battery and rebooting frequently!), I ended up visiting the local Apple Store.
Although the visit was not to resolve the iPhone problem, whilst there I happened to cycle the phone and due to the store having a local AT&T cell, the strength of the local signal meant that I finally re-acquired a AT&T 3G signal ... once locked on again the phone was fine for the next day.
Nett outcome of this is that I would prefer to lay most of the blame for this debacle on the poor state of 3G support both by AT&T (and US carriers in general), maybe exacerbated in my case by two related events (the local DNC in Denver, which saturated local AT&T cells including 3G and a proliferation of v2.0.0 and v2.0.1 firmwares on iPhones in town, which dragged cell coverage into the weeds).
It would be nice for future sanity if AT&T and T-Mobile could at least resolve the ability to acquire/release the iPhone gracefully, otherwise I'll be very sceptical of travelling back to the US with only my iPhone, as a self-employeed consultant I can't afford to be out of touch for three days again!

  • HT1338 My Mac keeps Looking for Networks? The ICON in menu when clicked shows the WI- FI (in gray) ON then goes to Looking for Network again. Shutting down the connection.

My MAC keeps looking for networks? The ICON in menu bar when clicked shows the WI-FI (in grey) it keeps shuting off and disconnecting. Any Ideas???

Test after taking each of the following steps. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Make sure the network is on the preferred list by following these instructions.
    2. Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading "Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly."
    3. Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    4. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
    5. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    6. In some cases, the problem has been resolved by repairing permissions on the startup volume.
    7. Reinstall OS X.

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.

  • So how is it fire fox keeps crashing for everyone but the firefox team. are you guys using Chrome or something?

    Firefox 36.0.1
So firefox keeps crashing on youtube, Facebook, Brainjet, Answers.com. It's often sites that have either forums or auto start videos.
YET I keep seeing you guys asking for some "Error codes" as if you've NEVER had that problem. So how about this. Instead of assuming that my NON-ADD ON version is the corrupted puppy, tell us what in god's name you guys use.
Chrome, Safari, IE? there's no way in hell you're using Facebook, Youtube, things that use flash and NOT seeing the crash. So every time you guys ask us for those codes you're lying and hiding the fact that it also happens to you, or you're using something where it doesn't happen.
I'm amazed that if I open up 3 or 4 windows, sometimes 2 Facebook, a youtube. and something that has comments section, I'm getting this thing locking up and all the research I was doing is wasted where I have to start again.
So… Don't ask me for any codes. Just tell me what you're using because obviously it's NOT crashing. Frankly I'm shocked so many people keep having the same problems but not one of you guys seem to experience it. I'm beginning to doubt this "surprise" error stuff.

To be fair, I use a heavily modded version of Fx and my only complaint is memory leakage (starts 450,000K with a few tabs open, flash, etc. and gets up to 1,400,000K even if new tab page is the only thing open). That's probably a plugin issue for me though.
Usually when Fx crashes it pops up with the crash report menu. You should be able to find some more info about the crash there. It could be a corrupt Fx file, a problem with the JIT compiler, your video card drivers, or even your computer hardware like faulty RAM.
This help page also mentions a few common causes and how to fix them:

    So i have two problems
1)my firefox history options is set to only remember last 7 days but it doesn't delete after 7 days and adds this month and previous month. If i delete only this month the entire history is deleted.
2)lately whenever my laptop goes to monitor switoff or when my computer starts up a firefox window opens automatically with no themes enabled nor any addons enabled.the home page of the firefox window is the firefox google search page..I also did a virus scan with kaspersky 2010.
    yelp!

The setting Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember visited pages for at least" refers to the number of days kept in memory (default is 90 days).
Firefox 3 and 3.5/6 versions store pages in places.sqlite on disk for 180 days by default.
    See https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Places_Expiration
You can look at these prefs on the about:config page.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data)
http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days_min (90) (set via Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember my browsing history for at least")
    For your other problem:
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved and [[Preferences are not saved]]
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • Lookout limitations and selection of the computer system for lookout

This is regarding the limitation of the lookout i.e. upto how much IO lookout is reccomended to use.
or it is on the basis of the l4p or lks file size basis.
Do you have some criteria for the selection of the computer system for lookout on the basis of the IO's.
is there any criteria by which we can check the execution cycle time for the lookout process.
Is there any NI controller also avaiable for lookout applications?

From what I have observed, there is no standard.  The best thing to do is to create test setups.
Its entirely possible that a system with 100 IO may require more processing/memory than a 5000 IO system.  Database, archiving, reporting, analytics, etc.
    It is variable.
Just for reference on our systems, we dont use the IO count for performance curves, we go based on the site configurations for the system.
A site could be 1 pump, 6 pumps and a tank, 1 pump and a tank, 4 tanks, etc.  Consider than a tank may only take 5 IO and a well upwards of 50 IO each, we could hit 150-200 IO per site.
Smaller systems (<10 sites) we have run very successfully on Atom based servers (not netbooks...).
10-40 sites run well on basic dual-core workstations with 2GB or more of RAM
40-100 we recommend quad-core servers with 4GB or more of RAM.
(100+ gets a little more intricate)
We try to make sure that the system is not more than 15% loaded (memory and/or CPU) by services at normal work.  Lots of room left over for future growth or unexpected workloads and backup routines.

  • Firefox keeps prompting me for password with the popup

Firefox at my work computer keeps prompting for password with the popup message "The proxy moz-proxy://proxy:9119 is requesting a username and password. The site says: "moz-proxy://proxy:9119"" This happens too often, even If i provide the username and password I get the next popup with same message.
Its very annoying, I am not finding web better because of this, I goggled and figured about the config settings of - network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow-proxies and the other one not working.
I guess I am missing the PAC URL or something which I remember like solved the problem sometime back but not in same domain though.

  • Settings in BW system for data to b sent from Xi

    hey guys..
i hav an absolute fresh BW system n my Xi system (not a fresh one)
need to knw, wot are the settings i need to make on the BW and on the Xi system for the interfaces (i/b n o/b) which i create in Xi system to b reflected in the BW system when i hit the tcode: Sproxy.
need to send data frm xi to bw...(or vice versa)
    regards,
    vishal
Ps: I dont require the step by step solution for sending data from BW to Xi

    Hi ,
This was the extract from a link ..
The integration of SAP XI and SAP BW offers the following advantages:
    • Central maintenance of message flow between logical systems of your system landscape.
    • Options for transformation of message content between sender and recipient.
Mappings help you to adapt values and structures of your message to the recipient. In this way, you can transfer different types of files to a SAP BW system using interface mapping. However, in any case, it is necessary to transform the data into a format that corresponds to the interface of the function module that is generated in SAP BW and used for data transfer. The function module contains a table parameter with a flat structure. This means that the data have to be transformed so that they fit to a flat structure in SAP BW.
    • Using proxy communication with SAP BW.
Proxies are executable interfaces generated in the application systems for communication with the SAP XI Integration Server. We recommend the use of proxies for communication with SAP BW because they guarantee Full Quality of Service (Exactly Once in Order). They also guarantee that the data is delivered only once and in the correct sequence. The SAP XI Integration Server keeps the serialization as it was established by the sender.
Also go thru these links which are really good and it answers your question very clearly:

  • Macbook air keeps 'looking for networks'

My Macbook Air keeps 'looking for networks', and the upload speeds are slow -- should be 50 plus, are 25-30 mps.
Upstairs, my iMac gets 60mps upload and 30 mps download.  So Verizon is providing what they promise, its just
that the MacBook Air seems to have a bit of a problem.
Verizon has done what they could to tweek the system, and it make make a small improvement -- from 20 to the 25-30 mps.
The tech suggested, politely, it was time to talk to Apple, and I will make a Genius appt.
But I was wondering if other with MacBook Airs had had this problem of the computer constantly 'searching for netsworks'.
    Thanks,
    Hal

Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced then select the Wi-Fi tab.
Drag your network to the top of the list.
Select:  Remember networks this computer has joined
    Click OK.
Keep in mind, everytime you click the AirPort icon in the status menu bar, it will automatically "look" for networks.

  • RFC: a new init system for Arch

hi guys, i've been thinking about this for a while, especially since after seeing what a real optimized init system can do for a distro (ala Annvix). Recently, somebody also suggested the use of upstart (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 59#p238859), and i've been thinking that perhaps it's time to put forth this suggestion to the community, and get the devs in on this (discussion) as well.
What do u guys think of replacing and moving from the current BSD-init style (it's great, but there's more stuff out there!!!) to a better, "totally optimized", "rad" (excuse the slang, also known as "awesome") init system?
Here are my thoughts for the 2 that i've investigated...
    1. Upstart (http://upstart.ubuntu.com/index.html)
    Advantages:
    - active, maintained code
    - the idea of "events" is natural, intuitive, and as a model, fits the real world situation ("optimizing for the bootup process") very nicely
(although one could also argue that u could just as well call your events "dependencies" ala initng, if u dig deeper, u'll see that it's more than just that)
    Disadvantages:
    - looks set to become much more than just a simple 'init' replacement (see for eg., http://upstart.ubuntu.com/wiki/ComplexEventConfig [via https://launchpad.net/upstart from "Latest proposed features" section]), and violate the KISS principle of Arch??? (or is this still considered "simple enough"???):
-> looks set to replace cron, atd, and anacron, .... (http://upstart.ubuntu.com/faq.html#replace-cron)
-> looks set to almost (or could potentially become) a "total event system for Linux" (see the last 3 questions of the faq)
    2. Runit (http://smarden.org/runit/)
    Advantages:
    - fits the KISS idea most definitely
    - can be integrated very nicely with its 'supervise-like' replacements to help supervise ur services
    - if u're a djb fan, u'll find urself going "woohoo!!!" You'll get the very same advantages that u get with djb's supervise system...
    Disadvantages:
    - if u're not a djb fan, u'll find urself going ....
    Your comments and ideas, folks?

I don't see how complexity gonna improve on that.
It won't. In fact it'll actually make it slower, more than likely. People refuse to understand this.
If ask me, being able to just list your daemons in any order and have them work (and load in the proper order as quickly as possible) without having to look-up what each damon might possibly require (and keep track of changes in those requirements with new versions) follows KISS a lot more than having to deal with it all to order your daemons list (and lossing the option to background daemons that are required for other ones).
Perhaps you don't understand the shade of meaning that Arch uses when it says "Simple". Simple does NOT mean that something is "easy", it means it isn't complicated and over-complex. Ever heard of DOS's autoexec.bat? It was a stinkin' batch file and it ran everything you typed into it in the order you typed into it. The reason why I mention this is not because I want to adopt DOS's init system, but instead because I wanted to show you the pinnacle of simplicity. Was it easy to use? Most of the time. But DOS also had issues of TSR's and services, etc. that depend on other services. I'd like for you to point out a simpler system than autoexec.bat that is actually in mainstream use. See? Simple does NOT equal easy.
However, I'd like to mention what my Jr. High principal always told us: "Anything is easy if you know how to do it." I actually find Arch's init system to be the EASIEST system out there. I know EXACTLY what it is doing at all times. I tried to grok Ubuntu's system and I found myself having to read a bunch of stuff from different sources to make sense of it. Is that easy? No. Not for me. Simple IS easy if you throw out your Windows conditioning that everything should be done for you and that you can't think for yourself. You say we should be able to make a list of services and they should all start in the order Arch thinks they should. I on the other hand say that if I want x to start before y, then x BETTER start before y. You see, I'M the user. I'm not just there to share the experience. My computer is a tool and I want it to do exactly what I say.
Hell, I bet you spent more time writing this post than a new init system will save you in your lifetime. The Linux kernel takes longer to start on my machine than anything else (and I'm connected via WiFi on a buggy and slow as hell driver and through DHCP on top of that). I already said one thing that may give you a little boost, which is caching (which may actually slow you down due to overhead). You can also try suspending to disk (aka hibernating) instead of just shutting down.
What do u guys think of replacing and moving from the current BSD-init style (it's great, but there's more stuff out there!!!) to a better, "totally optimized", "rad" (excuse the slang, also known as "awesome") init system?
Explain to me everything you know about the BSD init style. I'm curious.

  • I am looking for Compact RIO system for PID control

    Hi all,
I am looking for the CompactRIO system for PID control.
My system acquires two input data (0-10V) from two displacement sensors and sends one output signal (0-10V) to piezo-actuator at every step. And my target is the short settling time and the low overshoot.
I think that I need fast control system. So I am interested in CompactRIO. But I am not familiar with this sytem. Could you recommend the good control system for me?
The one important thing is that the time limiting step of my system is Piezo actuator (it's natural freq is 20kHz.) CompactRIO is much faster than the Piezo-actuator. I am not sure whether CompactRIO is good to my system or not.
Here is the CompactRIO system which I am interested in:
    i) CompactRIO Reconfigurable Embedded System: cRIO-9004
    ii) CompactRIO Reconfigurable Chassis: cRIO-9101
    iii) I/O Module : AI : cRIO-9215 AO: cRIO-9263
    Thank you so much,
    Sungjin

    Hello Sungjin,
CompactRIO should work great for your PID control system. Those I/O modules are the correct voltage range and the 1M gate FPGA backplane will be plenty for a single PID controller. You'll probably be able to get loop rates around 100kHz for analog PID control.
Keep in mind that the LabVIEW FPGA module includes PID examples that will cut down your development time considerably.

  • Candidate Data transfer from E-Recruiting System to HR system for New Hiring.

    Hi All,
Hope everyone doing in good Spirit.
We are implementing E-Recruiting as Standalone for one of our client.
Can any please help me in regards with Data transfer from E-Rec System to HR System for hiring once the candidate has been successfully completed recruiting process.
    You inputs are highly appreciable.
    Thank you.
    Sekhar.

    Hello Sekhar,
there are three different scenarios for transferring the data of an external candidate to the HR core for hiring.
the easiest and most commonly used is the RFC connection. When creating an activity of category data transfer the data of the candidate is transferred from eRec to HR core. There it is stored in table T752F. Then you can run transaction PA48. There you can select the candidate and run a hiring action. This is the same action like in PA40 only the system will preset the fields with the values from eRec (similar to batch input).
Instead of using the RFC solution you can transfer the data using PI (this can be activated using a switch in T77S0). To be honest none of my customers is using this. Either they had no PI server at all or they did not use it for eRec
The third was delivered with a business function HCM_HIRE_INT_CI_1. This is based on HCM processes and forms and targeted towards customers using Talent Management Core (e.g. data for education and work experience is transferred into the TM Core infotypes 740X as contrary to the hr core standard infotypes 0022 and 0023 they are structured like the eRec ones). Of course as you can do a lot of customer enhancements to HCMP&F you can replace the behavior nearly completely. One or two of my clients discussed this solution but as far as I know none is actually using it.
The simple truth is most customers seem to not use any integration at all. The first solution is easy to activate but only covers around 13 fields. Compared to a real full blow hiring action this is not even 10% of the fields which have to be entered. So the presetting this small number of fields is not a great help especially as you have to check every information anyways. Furthermore PA48 is not very nice and lacks functions to structure the incoming records which makes it difficult to handle in large distributed organizations.
The other two options require a lot of infrastructure for small functionality. What we discussed with a client was using the new hire integration to preset a full hiring form with eRec data and then send to the candidate as offline form to gather all missing information and use this for hiring. • One PI system for Dev, QA and Prod..possible?

    Hello Experts,
I have been told that there will be just one PI system, for development and the same has to be used as QA in IST and for Production...
I have 4 scenarios , 2 are JDBC to Proxy and 2 are file to proxy..
Hence, I have to connect to ECC as well for the proxy...
    Is it possible????
please put  forth ur views on this...
    Regards,

    Hi Guys,
    Thank you for ur reply
I believe this is a temp solution before the real hardware arrives...
Hence, dev can be ready by then  but the point is that ther is ERP for dev, ERp for QA and ERP for Prod...
How can i connect the same Pi system to three different erp s??
    as all scenarios have proxy...
Can u pls throw light on this?
    Regards,
    Teja
