Reorder photos

How do you reorder photos in an album on the ipad?

Reordering photos is a great idea, especially for making slide shows. But as I said there is no way to do it in iPhoto for iOS.
You can leave feedback for Apple about iPhoto for iOS here:

is it possible to reorder photos in an event? I can drag them, but when I drop them nothing happens.
    Thanks

Check out the options in the View -> Sort Photos menu, but remember Events by their veryt nature are based on Date and Time and no manual sorting is possible. For for flexible organisation use Albums.

  • Reorder photos in album

Does anyone know how to reorder photos in an album in iPhoto for iOS?

iPhoto does not allow reordering of the photos in the albums, sorry. Sync them to iPhoto in the correct order (see:  Re: How to reorder photos in iPad2). You may display selected images together when editing, but that's it, see Compare photos
Only in a special album, journals, you are free to arrange the photos in the order you want. Perhaps you may want to create journals from your photos to present them in a specific order:
See: iPhoto help: , the section: Create and share journals

  • Error message: 'Cannot reorder photos'.

Normally I do not have a problem reordering photos in LR4.
However with my last import from a folder in Pictures on my Imac's hard drive I am being shown the following error message,
'Cannot reorder photos. The currently selected scource does not support custom order.'
My Imac works on OS X version 10. 6.8, with a 500GB hard drive of which 186GB is free.
    Please advise

I believe that you can re-order photos in collections (but not smart collections), or if you have a single folder selected.
If you have multiple folders selected, or a smart collection selected, or a keyword selected, or "All Photographs" selected (and probably a couple of other items selected), you cannot re-order photos.

I am tryign tor reorder photos ( in library mode) but warning mesage says cannot do
    can anyone help?

I believe you can only re-order photos in a collection (but not a smart collection) or in a folder.
Alternatively, you can have Lightroom sort the photos by any one of a number of criteria.

  • Can I reorder photos in an album according to IMG number?

I took several hundred photos on a trip, and for some reason the camera got the dates all mixed up, with some dated 2005, 2006 etc. When downloaded into iPhoto, they are arranged according to these dates, so are way out-of-order. The IMG numbers however are still sequential.
Can I reorder the photos in the album according to the IMG numbers, in order to get them back into sequence? This method of sorting is not included in the View menu.

    eagledavid1
Select all the photos you want to manipulate the go
    Photos -> Batch Change
    Set TITLE to FILENAME
Then sort on Title in the View Menu.

  • How to reorder photos in iPad2

I have managed to import photos into my ipad2 but the order in the album is not correct. How do I reorder the photos so that they come as I want to show a slideshow?

I have found a way to get photos into my iPad2 using an SD card and a card reader for the iPad. It seems as if the photos have to have 8 characters with no gaps (except the underscore _ ) and are put into a folder on the card named DCIM. With the order OK they can be imported into the iPad2 and put into their own album and the order is maintained (for now at least).
I cannot fathom out iTunes as every time I sync some more photos it deletes the last lot! I shall try to avoid iTunes in the future until someone can tell me why it is so illogical.

  • Bug - LR3.2 unable to reorder photos in quick collection / survey view

After editing photos in Photoshop CS3, I'm looking at them in Quick Collection and want to reorder them before export. But it doesn't work. Sometimes I can move a photo one place, but not two, sometimes not at all. I have other RAW photos in Quick Collection. I seem to be able to reorder them amongst themselves, but not move them into the Photoshop .psd photos. I sometimes get an error message "cannot complete assertion", sometimes accompanied by crash.
First time I've seen this. Also Photoshop files are now appearing as the first images in quick collection whereas they used to be grouped next to the RAW file I was editing.
    Similar behaviour in Survey View.

These .psd photos  appear to be corrupted in some way. One didn't show the changes I had made in PS, but then when I reopened in PS the changes reappeared. I was able to reorder them finally in a Collection.

  • Why does the Places slide show reorder photos?

My husband and I both take photos, so when we come home, I have to reorder the images to get the desired result (yes I know to change the time/date, but this time it didn't help).  I've never tried to use the Places slideshow before, and I like the product, but it is creating it in a different order from the album, where I have manually sorted all the images.  In fact, it seems to pull random shots from other albums.  I checked to see if the added photo was hidden, but that wasn't the case.
I'm trying to put together a slideshow that contains eight different stops on a cruise.  When I tried to run the folder, I had some issues, so went back and tried just one port and had the same problem.Any suggestions on how to get it to keep my original sort?
Another strange thing is that I added some .jpeg files that were scanned or downloaded with info about the location and these do not show up in the slideshow. Not sure what's going on with this either.

You'll have to give us more information that than.  How was the slideshow created? If by stills in iDVD what transition did you use?  What format are the photos and what size were they? What version of iDVD are you using and what theme?
If the slideshow is a movie give us the details of how the movie was created and with what application.

  • How to reorder photos in folders based on capture date

I have scanned a bunch of photographs and imported them into lightroom. I then went and changed all the capture dates to represent when the photos were actually taken. Now I would like to put the photo's in a folder structure based on the capture date (as all my other photo's are). How is it best to do this?
    Thanks,

Well, if you are going to re-import them, then you really don't need to export them first in original format.
I mean, assuming you checked the box which allows Lr to write to the raws when you changed capture time, then you should be able to simply delete (remove) from existing catalog, then re-import in preferred structure. If you did NOT allow Lr to update the raws (and so capture time would be lost when re-importing), then we need to talk (and I don't think exporting in original format will preserve capture time in that case either).
    Backup everything first...

  • Cannot Reorder Photos in Album

I am experiencing an issue where dragging photos in a manually ordered album does not allow me to change the order of the photos. See video below. Infuriating. 3.0.1

Check in Windows Explorer to see that the files are not labeled "read only".

  • Reorder photos in camera

I Have some photos I took with my DSLR. When I import them to my iphone camera roll they show up as if they are taken today rather than in June 2011 which is the original date of the photos. Is there anyway to change the date of the photos in my camera roll?

Try quitting the Camera app or restarting the iPhone. Do they upload to the Photo Steam after that?
Take a look at Apple's Photo Stream FAQ.
On an iOS device, new photos you take will be automatically uploaded to your Photo Stream when you leave the Camera app and are connected to Wi-Fi. Note: Photo Stream does not push photos over cellular connections.

  • Reorder photos in slideshow

    Hi,
I used older versions of iMovie, but the newer ones have changed so!
I am preparing a slideshow in Imovie "11 (version 9) I have all of the photos in iPhoto and they are displaying on the lower right of my window. As I drag them into the project, I want to rearrange a few, and they won't just drag and drop like they used to. Would someone please help!!!  Thanks!
    Elaine

    Hello Elaine,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.
You can learn more about adding photos to your iMovie project in this tutorial lesson:

  • Iphoto 9.6.1 Slideshow Places Theme randomly reordering photos - not sure why?

I've manually reordered photos in Library based on location (and manually assigned gps location in info).
After creating slideshow, when I choose 'Places' theme it seems to randomly reorder photos - not just into 'places' order.
    Help!
Also, when I use export - the option of creating a quicktime movie seems to have disappeared (custom option gone).
    Cheers
    Brenda

    Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
iMovie is on every Mac sold.
    Others, in order of price:
    PhotoToMovie  $49.95
    PulpMotion  $129
    FotoMagico $99
    Final Cut Pro X $299
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs. However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Pro X is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.
