Hi,
I has developed a report in character mode.Then i save the report.In order to have a precise alignment i then changed the design in character units property to Yes.After some time,while running the report it gave an error Rep - 1223 (Invalid Page Size).
On seeing the property inspector for Paper layout for the Main Section,i saw that the width and height property increased to some very high level.On trying to reducing the width and height size ,it gave a message that unable to reduce it since the layout is not large enough to accomodate layout items.
Even when i do not save the report the next time,the error somehow persists.
This kind of error comes very occasionally when try to design character mode reports using design in character units property set to Yes.
Kindly help me out.

I suggest you apply the latest patch set and check if issue still exist. There are no known issues like this currently.

Hi,
Did you set the Layout Model, header/Main/Trailer --> Width/Height and need to check format type, some case run in Character mode or Bitmap Mode.

Aging 7 Buckets Report ARXAGMW error REP-1212 Object Body is not enclosed

I am customising standard AR Aging 7 buckets report by account(ARXAGMW).
I just need to add 2 fields,That i have added successfully.
But the report output format is not printing properly.
I mean if there are 4 columns custname,custno,endcustname,endcustno.
it is printing the output as
custname custno endcustname endcustno
abc communications inc 1234 abc communicatio 1234
xyz communications inc 5678 pqr communicatio 9657
but i want to print with full name(endcustname) as how it is printing for custname.
So itried to increase the report width to 300 and try to run the report,but i am getting the error.
I tried with standard report also by increasing the width but same error.
Could anyone please tell me when we increase report width what else i should change.
The error is
REP-1212: Object 'Body' is not fully enclosed by its enclosing object 'P_REPORTING_ENTITY_NAME'.

"Not allowing" means? Do you get any error?
Is this the same style used by this concurrent program? I assume that the report type is text.
If the report type is bitmap, size the page size in the "Execution Options" field as "PAGESIZE= <width>x<height>" and submit the report again.

Hello All,
We're encountering the above error. What could be the cause of the problem?
We're using Oracle 10g 10.1.2 on AIX as our report server.

What format do you use for your Reports ? JSP ? XML ? RDF ? REP ?
If you are using JSP or XML, try to save your Reports in Reports Buidler with the format RDF and use this RDF

Customize page size in report builder 6i layout.

hi all ,
I have developed a contact order report in report builder 6i ,which print its output on preprinted form (using DOT Matrix printer).
for example if output is giving 3 orders ,each order and its details should be printed on each preprinted form.
But when i given print from report builder 6i to dot matrix printer for every order one page is getting skipped .
Even i adjusted wide and height as 35 and in printer file also adjusted but even it is skipping one page for every order .
Even i adjusted wide 80 and height as 66 and it is skipping one page for every order.
Kindly help me how to customize page size in report Builder 6i.

Thanks for your reply. To get rid off that error, i did the following thing.
I set the width as 132, and height as 62 of header, main body and trailer section in report builder.
In Concurrent program window also, i set the column as 132 and rows as 62, and style as BAC.
When i submit the report through concurrent program, it's working fine.
Now i changed the width of the report to 200 and height to 66.
Now, i want to change the style to A4 in concurrent program window. I don't have A4 style in list of values. I went to SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR ---> INSTALL --> PRINTER --> TYPES. (Added A4 style to all types)
Now i changed the columns to 200 and rows to 66 and style as A4.
Now, it's showing below error.
ERROR: APP-FND-00314:INVALID PRINTER.
Again i selected BAC style and try to submit the program, it's giving different error.
REP-1219: 'Body' has no size - length or width is zero.
Could somebody help me to solve the issue. (Why it's giving above error after adding the A4 style to all types of printers) and why did i get the previous errors (REP-1212, Body fully not enclosed).
Kindly help me, it's urgent.

I got this error when I add more columns to an EBS standard oracle report.
REP-1212: Object 'Body' is not fully enclosed by its enclosing object 'p_in_invoice_type_high'.
but, p_in_invoice_type_high is a user parameter.
what can I do for this?

You can take the following actions to correct this error:
Case 1: Move or resize the object so that it does not extend outside the page boundary. Alternatively, increase the page size in the Report Property Inspector.
Case 2: Using Arrange--\>Send to Back, Arrange--\>Bring to Front, Arrange--\>Move Backward, and Arrange--\>Move Forward, arrange your repeating frames such that, in terms of layers, the following is true: repeating frames are below repeating frames that they contain and down repeating frames are below across repeating frames.

1. question - i'm afraid this cannot be done ... bit in report 6 and newer you have posibility to divide your report in 3 parts (former header, body, trailor) and each part can have diferent page siz, orientation , ...
2. question - best is give each column in your statements in one report diferent alias. when you have to chnge something, alias will remain same ...
try this: select 1 as fist_column, 1 as second_column from dual

Physical page size in reports 9i

Greetings all.
I am trying to create a report to print on multiform dot matrix epson printer. The height of the pre-printed form is 5.5".
Is it possible in graphics (bitmap) mode to define a custom size? Or is it only possible to do the same in charater mode?
I am able to do the settings on the printer control panel but the program settings always override and there is no custom size available in the page setup.
Please help!!

Hi Mahesh
You need to perform three task to design your report:
1. In Reports property palette, change the Unit of
dimesion. You can design the report in any of
different units i.e characters (charcater and bitmap
mode), points (bitmap), inches (bitmap) and centimeter.
2. Set the Dimension. Report can have any length and any
width. Because printer pages may be smaller or larger
then report, the concept of physical pages versus
logical pages are used in Reports. A logical page is
the size of one page of your actual report. You need
to set this ratio in reports properties.
3. Set the required page size in Reports section
properties. There are three sections: header,
body/margin and Reports trailer.

Urgent helps needed on REP-1222 error

Hi all,
I have encounter error REP-1222 when trying to decrease one field in the report. Look like a bug, but just not sure how to resolve it. Any one got experience on this ? Btw, I'm using report 6i version 6.0.8.19.0.

I solved the above issue and I thought may be this would be helpful to others. I solved the process order issues through assisgming proper responsibility and proper org_id under which you are booking orders. If we have these tow correct, then most of the issues will be rectified..

Missing Disk Partition after Yosemite Install (invalid sector size)

Right off the install, my exFAT partition on my MBP is missing. Thought it was not mounted automatically so I went to Disk Utility to have a look.
It says "invalid sector size (0)" or something (I'll edit/update this post in a bit. I'm on Mac Recovery as I'm typing this) and it couldn't repair it.
Bootcamped into Windows and the same thing's happening (partition shows up but as an unformatted volume, proceeds to prompt to format partition)
I haven't thought to check to see if the OSX volume has expanded or not, so I'll do it after this.
Man I hope the files are still there. Is there a fix or way to manually edit the sector size?
Would reverting back to Mavericks be able to repair it?
Disk Details:
960GB Crucial M500 SSD
Partitioning Order:
NTFS (W7) 128GB | exFAT (stuff) 512GB | HFS (OSX) 256GB | freespace (not used) the rest
(Windows reports a more complicated partition map due to the Hybrid MBR partition map, but the main partition order is as above)
(As for why this order, it happens that I am unable to add an additional partition when I install OSX before Windows due to constraints of the MBR-type partitioning, but I am able to add one when Windows is installed before OSX as a workaround to save one partition count in the MBR)
Mac Details:
MBP 15" Mid-2012 Model A1286 4GB RAM
OSX 10.10 (Yosemite)
Windows 7 via Bootcamp

Hi putnik, thanks for the reply. I've tried the repair in Disk Utility from the recovery partition and it's unable to fix it as well.
The installer didn't have any prompts regarding File Vault (I never turned it on in the first place) beforehand.
It's my first time reading of Core Storage, so that may have bitten me on this end. The interesting property of the exFAT volume is Disk Utility recognises that as a Bootcamp volume (although no OS was installed in it and it doesn't appear in Bootcamp). (EDIT: it said that when I still had Mavericks but now it doesn't say anything even with the windows partition)
I'm still looking around for a fix or any way of reading it, and I'm holding off the last resort of reformatting it. Got a few days of work in it that I haven't backed up, although finding a fix could use the same amount of time as redoing it.
Here's the message by the way:

REP-0826: Invalid printer driver 'dflt' specified by parameter DESFORMA

We are using Developer 6. We had .PS Reports that printed fine till yesterday. Since this morning, we are getting the following error:
REP-0826: Invalid printer driver 'dflt' specified by parameter DESFORMAT.
What could be wrong?

restart the reports process.
If this doesn´t help restart the whole machine including the whole operating system.
We do relativly often have this problem that the Oracle Reports processes function a long time (over months and more) without problems and then suddenly something does not work anmymore.
Simply restart the whole machine and in most cases everything will work again.

Invalid entry size

When I install oracle 9i on linux 8, there is a problem "Invalid entry size( expected 42992435 but got 42992437 bytes)". After installation, I ran dbca to create a new database. The problem is still there. What is matter about it?

i think font size cannot be increased.....it wil auto adjust based on ur no of coloumns and records.... try to reduce the no of coloumns u r displaying, then it will auto adjust itelf.

I am sure this error would have been posted many number of times, but I would really appreciate if someone could help me with my problem. I am working on reading data from a .zip file, which in it has ~5GB data. All I am performing is a read operation through the piece of code specified below. This code worked well for .zip files handling till ~2.5GB

I get the same exception while reading a ZIP file. The size if the ZIP file is just 82KB but I am reading it over FTP not sure if it makes any difference. I am using JDK 1.4.2_05. Here is the code I am trying to execute.
