REP-1849

Hi! When I try print a report or run at a file it, I have REP-1849. I try print in a HP LASERJET 4000 SERIES PCL 6.
I have read this my be a bug, but I don't know what patch I mus install.
My version of reports is 6.0.8.11.3
Can You tell me EXACTILY how this solves?

Hi Amparo,
REP-1849 is an abnormal condition, and can be caused by a system error outside of Oracle Reports. Pl try installing the latest 6i Patchset (Patchet 15 currently) from Metalink (metalink.oracle.com). The patch number is 3171855.

We have set the DESFORMAT variable to DFLT but we are getting the same error. When we click in Choose Printer in rw60bld we get the error REP-3002 (Error initializing printer. Please make sure a printer is installed) and when we try to run the command: rwrun60 we get the error:REP-0713: Invalid printer name 'fuenla" specified by parameter where fuenla is the name of the printer.

"REP-1849: Failed while printing"
Reports Server is not installed on my machine.
On shared printer, it has no problems.
Platform is Win2000. Report Builder 6.0.8.11.3

Try the following if your printer is a network printer
1. Add Printers - select Local Printer
2. In the Add Printer wizard, select "create a new port" option and select "TCP/IP" as type
3. Write the IP address of the network printer in the "Add standard TCP/IP Printer Port wizard". The port name becomes IP_<ip addr>. Click Next.
4. Select the printer and printer type in "Add Printer" wizard.
5. Select a driver and Write a printer name. This completes the setup. Use this printer name to print from Oracle reports.

Problem generating report ouput to a file -REP0069 REP57054 REP 1849

hi,
I am working with oracle reports builder (9i). i hv created some reports.While trying to get the report in a file(.txt) by using "File->generate to file" ,i am not able to generate...
i get error msgs as shown below...
rep 0069 - internal error whil generating report
REP-57054: In-proccess job terminated.
rep 1849 - Failed while printing
this poblem occurs only with the newly created reports(today n yesterday)...my old reports are running correctly....tats i am able to generate to file...Pls help me in this regard...

Thank you for the reply. I'm trying to download the patch, but I can't seem to find it. I assume this is a patch for the Reports Developer, correct? I did a search on bug 2490826 in Metalink and I haven't been able to find it. If you have the number of the patch you're referring to, please let me know.

there is no error in setting up the printer. I don't know why this is happening. I tried to create a very simple report and still it doesn't send the report to printer.

Problem printing a report in Report Builder 6

Hi people, I'm experiencing tremendous difficulty when attempting to print a report in Report Builder 6. I've NEVER had this problem before, and it is a bone of contention to our client. Whenever I try to print a report from the report previewer, I get the following error:
"REP-1849: Failed while printing."
This error occurs irrespective of the query's complexity!
Even if I write a simple query such as, "SELECT 'johann' FROM dual", I get the above error. PLEASE help! Failure to test my report (and implement it) is causing a loss of approximately R570,000.00 to the company.

HI All,I have joined this forum recently. I found this forum so helpful. I have one query which is: I am using crystal report 10 with Dot Net 1.1, I have created one web report which consists of 19 pages. Once i press the print button on the report after previewing it shows me the error reporting screen of windows. I have checked in event viewer it gives me the following error detail:The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Internet Explorer ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, printcontrol.dll, 10.0.0.533, 0003bb45. Can any one helps me as i am totally stuck in that. Thanks in advance.

Error in printing on windows2000

I am getting this error while printing my reports from a client machine. I have installed developer 6i forms runtime and reports runtime on the client side while windows 2000 is the operating system. The error message I am receiving is, REP-1849 Failed While Printing reports are working and printing OK for the clients who are using window 98.
Can someone tell me how to handle this error?

well sorry i forget to inform you that my application is running in a client/server environment not on web yet. the solution you gave me was for reports running on web.
the problem is still there, please kindly can you tell me how to remove this error while printing!

Problems with driver PCL6

I have problems to use printer HP laserjet 2200 with driver PCL6, the erroe REP-1849 it's displayed when send a report to this printer.
I work whith diver 6L, but don't have chance to use the "Duplex" function.

The problem WAS the languageset.

I get the following error message: "Invalid Liability Liability account is invalid". I've tried both populating the ACCTS_PAY_CODE_COMBINATION_ID field and leaving it null. Some googling also said mentioned that particular error message may be misleading.
And yes, I'm passing the correct code from the lookup_type. The only difference is that for the one that works, I'm using an Oracle seeded source lookup. However, in the lookups screen I can't see where there are any special configuration.
I should also mention that the invoices will be imported from an external system, and there will be no PO attached to the invoice. I'm not sure if this info is relevent though.
I've done some researching and thinking and maybe there is some kind of profile option I need to set but I haven't been able to find it yet.
Also, I can't find the AP_ERRORS_GT table or any other closely named ones.

I created a formula column in the report. In that i have three local variable.
f_val number := 0;
s_val number := 0;
t_val number := 0;
t_val := f_val/s_val ; --> this gives the above fatal error.
t_val := (f_val + 1)/s_val; --> this gives the above fatal error
t_val := f_val/(s_val + 1); ---> no error
if i change the value of s_val
s_val := 1;
t_val := f_val/(s_val - 1) ; ----> this gives the above fatal error.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem or is it report builder bug.

I used nvl too, but the same error occurred.
For the information in my question I by mistake typed
t_val := (f_val + 1)/s_val; --> this gives the above fatal error.
but when the value of f_val = zero and s_val is zero why it gives fatal error when i divide, i used nvl on both the variable while dividing but still got the same error.
but if s_val is greater than zero then no error occurs.
please help me, I feel it is a bug.

The best way to handle this is to just add an exception handler that handles a zero divide.
EX:
function...blah
var3:=var/var2...
EXCEPTION
when zero_divide then
var3:= 0;Zero Divide is a built-in exception to handle cases just like this - so if you run into it, you can set it to whatever you want

REP-56055 exceedign maxconnections

Hi ,
i m getting error REP 56055 while running a report form a in a browser output format pdf
I searched on many forums and i have made the changes like
1. repserver.conf : maxconnect :3000 idletimeout :40
2. reports/dtd/rwserver.conf : EngineResponsetimeout :5
i restarted the reports services after that but still the REP 56055 is coming
pls help me for the solution

The change is not to be made in DTD (rwserverconf.dtd).
It has to be made in $OH/reports/conf/server_name.conf

Help me keep unlimited data. reps being extremely rude and not helping...

So I don't want to make this long and boring so I'm going straight to the point. I am grandfathered in and I know there are many discussions on here about this but I need serious help. I don't know what to do. Long story short, I went to my local normal Verizon store and asked politely to be on the 12 month payment plan for a new phone. And I stressed I wanted to keep my unlimited data. No problem they said....45 limited later they come back and say sorry, we cannot do that. Doing the payment plan makes you sign a new 2yr contract. I was mad obviously but left politely not knowing any better. But it didn't seem right. So I called the 800 support number and they said there is no reason why they shouldn't have done that for me. The guy said he shouldn't of told me this BuT he told me that reps don't like doing that because they don't get as much If any commission for doing so. So he said they usually come up with a lame excuse like the one they told me. He told me to go right back in there and tell them that yes they are able to do that. So I did. I got a different rep and he was acting weird about it. Get this... I told him my situation and gave him a puzzled look when he explained he doesn't know what he can do, HE said "what's that condescending look for?" I justccan't believe he said that how unprofessional of him to call me, a customer or ten years condescending. I was astonished. But that's not even my point. He didn't know what todo so called the manager over and she claims to have spoke with the "president" and "CEO" of their Verizon in north east ohio, this was a wooster Ohio Verizon. And claims that they don't allow that and what I was originally told by the rep is true. That is changes the contract going on a payment plan the 12 month one not the edge. I told her what the 800 number has told me and she said they are wrong. PLEASE HELP ME :( AGAIN, I was not rude or anything at all with them. They treated me like garbage because I want to keep my unlimited data. How can I do this? Can I go to another Verizon perhaps In Ashland Ohio and do the payment plan and keep my data? Sorry for the long question but any help would be TREMENDOUSLY appreciated. I am in wooster Ohio btw

You have to change registry settings by going through REGEDIT. Under hkey_local_machine/software/oracle/<oracle home>, look for variable REPORTS_TMP. Change value for this, for example c:\windows\temp or something like that where you want oracle reports to create temp files.
