Repair costs to fix dent on volume button?

Can anyone give me an idea how much it will cost to repair a dent in the iPad 2 case. Somehow my brand new iPad 2 got dented right on the volume button. I literally got it less than a week ago! Now volume is stuck and volume icon is also stuck in the middle of the screen. I'm sure this won't be covered by warranty.

ErinLouise31 you saved me BIG TIME!!!  I let DD (2 1/2 yrs) play with my husband's ipad today while I was cleaning the kitchen.  All was good until I heard a loud sound, looked over and saw the ipad on the floor!!!  At first I thought all was well until I noticed the dent in the case over the volume button!  Worse yet, the volume wouldn't work at all and it was stuck on no volume at all.  Called Apple and found out it would cost $249 to replace the ipad - NOT an option since it's less than a year old.  I searched online and came across your post & most importantly how you were able to fix it yourself.  I was desperate (hubby will be home soon) & just used a tiny screwdriver to jimmy the case and undent it some!  It did suffer some very minor scratches but the volume button now works and dent is barely there!  Thanks for saving me!!!
Of course I'm still going to tell my husband what happened BUT "I let DD play with your ipad, she dropped it, broke it but I fixed it!" is MUCH better than "I let DD play with your ipad, she dropped it, broke it and it will cost $249 to fix it!"

  • Will apple fix my broken volume buttons?

My volume buttons don't work and was just wondering if apple would fix them?

Apple doesn't fix iPhones, they replace them. If your issue is determined to be covered by warranty, your phone will be replaced. If determined not to be covered by warranty, you'll be offered an out of warranty replacement. Cost is US $199.
Make an appointment at any Apple store.

  • My volume button is broken and volume stuck on zero.  how can i fix?, my volume button is broken and volume stuck on zero.  how can i fix?

help! i have an ipad nano gen6, which works perfectly except that the down volume button is permanently stuck on down and won't come up. so i can't listen to anything - every time i turn the volume up it just goes immediately back down.  Is there a way to turn off the down button, which would be a clunky but workable soluteion? or am i stuck with having to take it to hte apple store - if so any know how much they are likely to charge for this - from a quick net search it seems this is a common problem and a bit of a design fllaw so i'm not keen to pay apple to fix a problem that seems to be their fault!
    Thanks
    Jamie

    Hello Jtatch,
This is an awefull problem and is not your fault. It is and hardware issue wich is eligible for repair. Check your service and support status via this link:

If your ipod is within warranty go back to point of purchase and set up an repair. If you are within warranty than you will not be charged for repair.

  • UDF for monitoring Repair cost of fixed assets

    Hi All,
Can you guide me how to populate a UDF at Invoice level with information from Fixed Assets (Add-on) Master? I am trying to monitor repair costs for existing fixed assets. My client wants to see how much repair cost has been incurred against a particular fixed asset.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Asim,
If you can query Fixed Assets Master directly, yon could create UDF just like other UDF under Marketing Documents Title.  A FMS then can be used to get the data from the related table.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • My down volume button doesn't work. How can I fix it?

When I press the down volume button on my iPad 2 it doesn't work. It was working last night but not this morning. I didn't drop it or anything. I just got my iPad not even a year ago. How can I fix my down volume button?

Well if you restore your iPad that might work. If its a software issue, it might solve it. If that doesn't work, it might be a hardware issue that apple can fix.

  • The volume button is stuck on my (6th generation) nano, how much will it cost to get it fixed and is it covered in the warranty?

As it says up top, The volume button got stuck. So, how much do you think it will cost me to get it fixed?
And is this something that is covered under the warranty?
I mean, the rest isn't broken or anything and is in working condition, I just need the volume button fixed.

The Apple warranty is one year.  If you purchased your Nano less than one year ago, it is covered by the warranty.  If purchased more than a year ago, it is not covered by the warranty.  Apple has a flat rate ($80, plus tax) for an out-of-warranty Nano repair.

  • How much would a repair for an unresponsive volume button cost for an iPad 3?

The volume button for decreasing the volume as stopped working and has been unresponsive to restarting the my 3rd gen iPad, and doing a hard shut down. My AppleCare warranty for my device has expired and I would like to know how much a repair for this would cost. It should be noted that the button for increasing he volume still works but since the buttons are technically one button on the device my assumption is that both buttons would have to be replaced. If you could shed some light on whether I should repair my iPad or buy the iPad Air, (whichever one seems cheapest or most cost effective in the long run). Thank you for your time and an answer to my question would be gladly appreciated!

http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/repair/other/ links to the Apple iPad repair page.  Out of warranty replacement of an iPad 3 is $299.00.  The device will be replaced, and the replacement will come with a 90 day warranty.

  • Can I get the dent and volume fixed on my ipad 2?

My schools ipad 2 dropped from the bed and now has a dent right on the side where the volume buttons are. The volume is stuck on off/low and they can't move because of the dent and the volume "icon" is stuck on the main screen the whole time i use my ipad. Can i get this fixed if i sent it to apple and for how much amd how long till i get it back?

    Aguece-
As school property, it might be best to turn it over to your computer resource people and let them handle it.
If they can show it to an Apple Store Genius, it is possible it will be covered under warranty.  Otherwise there is likely a fixed fee to trade it for a replacement.
Repairing it would probably be less expensive than Apple's replacement. I suggest your computer people look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center near you.  There may be one in your city.  In the US, <United States>.  Outside the US, <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1434>.

  • My volume doesn't work as I dropped my ipad2 and dented near the volume buttons.

Hi, my volume doesn't work as I dropped my iPad 2 and dented it near the volume button, any idea what i could do to fix it or how much this would be to get it fixed only got it at christmas 2013 so should still be in warenty??

Warranty doesn't cover drop damage unless you purchased Apple Care +.
Some iPad users have been able to revive their dropped iPad. Turn the iPad over and give it a HARD SLAP on the back. May take several slaps.

  • Ipad Volume Button Stuck/Dented

My iPad 2's volume button is stuck/dented, not sure how it happened but it's dented in in the middle and it's stuck on the volume up and I can't click it to turn the volume down. I heard it's expensive to bring it into the store to fix, anyone have ideas how to undent it/unstuck it?
    Thanks!

TThe volume button on an iPad 2 is a rocker type switch. It is lower in the center and that may be what you think is a dent. Try alternately pushing the up or down side of the switch while lightly pushing a little up or down. Hopefully this will free the switch. An Apple technician may be able to correct this problem Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Having a technician look at the iPad won't cost you anything and the switch might be easily fixed.

  • I just took my I-Pod touch to a computer repair shop to replace cracked screen and now am told main part of I-Pod needs to be replaced.volume button no longer works, headphone and locking device also no longer working. Even though it all worked when given

I just took my I-Pod touch to a computer repair shop to replace a cracked screen. Told it need the main part to it. They said the volume button, headphone and locking part no longer worked. Told me to pick it up. When I gave it to them all components were working. Said because they weren't able to fix it there was no charge. Don't understand this.

Probably when you dropped, kicked, smashed, threw, or whatever you did to break your screen it also damaged the logic board and the connections to the volume button, headphone jack and sleep button. Happens all the time. Apparently the shop you selected to work on it is not very good so take them off your shopping list.
Then go buy a 5th Generation iPod Touch.

  • Hi, I was just wondering how much it would cost to repair the rear camera of my iPhone 4s. I dropped it and it won't work and I hear something rattling inside when I shake it. How much would it cost to fix?

Hi, I was just wondering how much it would cost to repair the rear camera of my iPhone 4s. I dropped it and it won't work and I hear something rattling inside when I shake it. How much would it cost to fix?

If you have a tool, try removing the battery cover and chech out. Some times the camera pin may have been misplaced. If so, you can fix it yourself.
