Repair imported tracks from CD.

I heard there was a way to repair songs that were imported in iTunes off of a scratched CD. Can someone please help me find this feature? I have a whole bunch that use this.

what i have done in the past is kept the songs on my library and reimported the songs and selected the replace exsisting songs and that usualy took care of the problem, however if this doesnt work, then try this (preferences/Advanced/I0mporting/click the error correction box at the very bottom of the window)

Can't import tracks from an older version of iTunes

Since my rMBP has no optical drive I've found a practical use for my old G3 iMac which is for ripping CDs.
The G3 of course is only running iTunes 7.6 (the newest version available for G3 Macs) whereas my MBP is running the latest version.
I've shared the iTunes Library on the G3 and can access it on my MBP, and can even play tracks, but there is no Import button at the bottom of the window so I can't import the ripped tracks into my MBP iTunes. This works fine if I use my wife's MBP (my old one) which is also running the latest version of iTunes.
Have I missed a setting on the G3, or is this a limitation due to the big difference in iTunes versions?
I'm ripping to Apple Lossless if that matters.

Error When Importing tracks from a CD

Hi,
Using the latest version of iTunes (5.01), whenever I try to import tracks from a CD into my library, I get a popup from the OS that says:
"Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied"
The popup has the word "Desktop" in the upper left portion of the frame.
The tracks import just fine, so this appears to be nothing more than an annoyance, but I'd still like to understand what is causing this problem. Has anyone else seen this popup and been able to address its cause(s)?
I had not seen this problem until I upgraded to iTunes 5.0.

It depends on eaxactly what is wrong with the old laptop. If you're lucky the drive can be extracted and connected to a new computer to extract the data. Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Desktop error when importing tracks from a CD

Hi all,
using the latest version of iTunes (6.0.1.3), whenever I try to import tracks from a CD into my library, I get a popup from the OS that says:

The tracks import just fine, so this appears to be nothing more than an annoyance, but I'd still like to understand what is causing this problem.
The same problem was already pointed out in a thread now archived by Robert Ruderman, but no solution was given.

Importing tracks from non-I Tune libraries into I Tunes

I am a recent convert to the world of Ipod, having previously used other mp3 players like Zen Creative and an old Panasonic that operated off Real Player & Real Jukebox software. I would now like to import my old music collection into I-Tunes, but am having major difficulties:
Firstly, whereas Creative Media Organiser allowed me to import tracks from my Shared folder (C:\Program Files\My Shared Folder)in Mp3 or AAC or WMA, I-Tunes will not let me do this. When I open up the Shared folder in I-Tunes it doesn't provide any music file formats in the file format tab - only has .txt and xml which don't bring up the music files that are in there.
Secondly, I-Tunes won't let me 'drag & drop' tracks from my Creative Media library directly into I-tunes.
Thirdly, it doesn't interact with the Real Jukebox software, so I can't access the files stored in there either.
Help! Any Suggestions?

Some of what you have been told is fine, but there is still some confusion going on.
First, when you try to open a file with iTunes, the reason you only see .txt and xml is because the open command is not the one to import music. It's for opening playlists (.txt and xml). To bring in music you want to use the Add to Library command. An easier way is to find the files on your computer, drag them to the iTunes library window,and drop them there. This will import all formats that iTunes can play.
For those files that are in some strange format that iTunes won't play (such as ATRAC or protected WMA) then the other poster is correct, you'll have to burn and Audio CD and re-rip it, but all the other formats will do the drag and drop thing just fine.

Where is button to import tracks from CD?

I have put CD into drive and nothing came up and I couldn't find the button that is supposed to import tracks from a CD either. Can someone help please?

When you insert a CD there should be an icon for it in the sources list.
If you don't see that then see HT203242: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install (Formerly TS2308)

Importing tracks from a Mini Disc player

Does anybody know if you can import tracks from a Mini Disc player (non HD) into Garageband via my MacBook's Line In port, and then put the tracks into i-tunes as MP3 files?

I'm trying to get the playhead to go to the end of the new track by pressing
the 'end' button on my keyboard but it is just going to the end of the whole album.

Is it possible to repair imported tracks that skip?

My old iMac had a faulty CD drive, so when I imported my CD's, some of them skip in one or two songs. I now have a new iMac and I want to repair the tracks that have skips. Is there software that will do this for me? Can I repair them manually from the original CD that I still have? What is the best way to do this?

It would be best to just re-import the tracks from the original CD. I can't say that there isn't a way to repair the tracks, but you'll probably get the best results (and it's almost certain to be easier) if you just import the CD again.

I'm attempting to import a track from iTunes to garageband, but each time the track appears to be compressed and plays very rapidly (chipmunk style).
I recorded the track on my iPod using iTalk.

ITunes asking for apple ID when importing tracks from Windows Media Player

I have a friend who is a new radio DJ. I have convinced her that iTunes would be better to play her tracks from than WMP. What has happened is that iTunes has imported all of her tracks and albums from WMP but it is asking for her Apple ID for every track she tries to play.
Most of these tracks were imported into WMP from CD so why is iTunes asking for the Apple ID? How do I resolve this for her?

Are these songs MP3's or WMA files? What is the source of those songs? Did you rip from CDs into Windows Media Player? If you did then they shouldn't be protected files. iTunes will now have to convert them to an iTunes compatible file (MP3/AAC)

You could restore the Touch, which might get things going again. You shouldn't need to upgrade.
Check that your settings in iTunes haven't changed (that you're syncing all calendars etc.). When I upgraded to iTunes 9, some settings seem to have changed.

I can't sync imported tracks from iTunes to iPhone5

Using iTunes 11, upgraded to iOS 7 on iPhone 5. Yesterday I imported 11 mp3 tracks into iTunes from an audio file. They appear in iTunes, but the do not sync to my phone. The are not unchecked and I'm at a complete loss as to what could possibly be going on.

I have this issue too! However it only appeared yesterday.
I am a dance teacher and use my phone for all my class playlists. Earlier in the week I uploaded a couple of my Christmas class playlists fine, however last night I was unable to upload my list at all and ended up having to drag my laptop out with me in order to work!
I have tried turning both phone and laptop off, I have since loaded the lastest version of Ios 8.1.2 which doesn't appear to have done anything. And now I have seen a whole heap of issues in a similar vein encountered by other people.
I appreciate that I am using an old phone (iPhone 4s) but I had not changed anything prior to this issue appearing last night. I did encounter it briefly some months ago... and vaguely remember sorting it by checking the names of all the music styles that I wanted to have appear on my iPhone, but that seems a very long-winded way of ensuring that my playlists are updated.
Any tips would be much appreciated.

I tried to export it from NWDS, get the *.export file, but when I try to load it to other NWDI, I get error cause the settings (locations, paths, names) point to the old SLD values.

Trying to import tracks from strict copyrighted CD

OK, so hopefully there are some fans out there. The CD is by Our Lady Peace "Healthy in Paranoid Times" and it has this latest Sony BMG secret brackground software, which I had to agree to using to be able to listen to it on my PC. I want to import it onto iTunes, but the CD won't even so as inserted in the CD drive in iTunes. It's top notch security, and I can burn it on a disc and then import from there to iTunes, but I don't have any CD-R's right now, and I'd rather do this without having to spend some cash on CD-R's that I hardly use, even if it's just 1. Any help. Do you guys have an idea of what I'm referring to, in terms of this software/security measures.

check out cdfreaks.com I was able to get mine done. It's pretty lengthy and can get confusing. THe point is I was able to rip the cd into my HDD. Burn onto disc, and then import to iTunes.
On my first post I couldn't just copy it w/o copying all the security onto the burned disc. So disregard that. You have to mess w/ some stuff in the control panel, and some .exe files.
