Repair mode in iTunes

Hi all,
For some reason iTunes gives me a pop-up that my iPod photo has been flagged for repair mode and the only way to use it (in combination with iTunes) is to comply with the request.
However after doing so (losing all my music on the iPod) and having followed the steps by the letter (plugging the thing into the wall socked etc etc) the same error appears.
I also own an iPod mini but this one gets the exact same pop-up in iTunes...
Does anybody have any idea why iTunes is forcing the iPods to be repaired??? And better yet does anybody have a solution as I can no longer update then.
p.s. the iPod mini, I did not repair and it is working fine. The iPod photo works fine (but simply is empty now)

Does it say "recovery mode" rather than repair mode?
If so, that can sometimes be caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. For troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see the following document:

I factory restored my iphone and now it is stuck in repair mode. i cannot connect to itunes to restore as i get error "itunes cannot find disk"

i restored my iphone4 to factory settings because it was running slow and some apps werent working. My phone is now stuck in repair mode and is continually rebooting itself. I know the usual solution would be to restore via itunes but itunes will not allow me to do anything as i get the error "itunes cannot find disk"

I have done all the steps that I could find, and I am still having this issue...can someone help me please?
Here is the diagnostics test I just ran as well. Not sure why it wont read my ipod either.

HT1212 I have an iphone 3 which has been disabled, I've put it into recovery mode but itunes won't connect to it. I know the password but the device wn't give me the option to add it. What else can I do to enable the device. I can't wipe it from the cloud

I have an iphone 3G which has been disabled after a child tried to get into it. Itunes will not connect until I have put the passcode in but the device will only enable emergency calls and does not allow a passcode to be put in. I have put it into recovery mode and itunes can't see it. There is currently no SIM card in it and it's not connectng to the wifi so I can't wipe it from the cloud. Any ideas how I can get into it?

Tap twice with 3 fingers. Then go to Settings>General and scroll down to Accessibility and turn Zoom off.

Hello mustangcim243,
iTunes has various components bundled with it that it requires for general usage. I advise that we completely remove iTunes and all of these related components, verify that they have been removed, then reinstall. To do so, please follow the steps in this article:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Note: it is important to remove the 7 components in order. Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
If the above does not resolve your issue, I recommend we reset the SC Info folder:

I have a 3gs, and I haven't updated it for a long time because I always have issues when I do. I tried to update the ios today, and it decided to update it to 6.1.3 instead of 7, I didn't think there would be a problem, so I clicked ok. When I came to check on my phone, itunes said there was an error with the update, and my phone was in recovery mode (plug-in sign on the screen). I looked up multiple things to try, I tried putting it in DFU mode, still itunes doesn't see it. The computer also doesn't list it under devices, however when it is plugged in the Apple Mobile Support USB Driver shows up in device manager. I have tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling, still nothing. I just want to know if there is anything else I can try. Thanks.
