Repair or Change Motherboard

Hi,
I've got a Lenovo 3000 N200 0769-AH9 Laptop with a T9300 Penryn-CPU and broke my Mainboard(CPU-Cooler doesn't work any more).
I saw a Mainboard for 150 €, which is very cheap, as there are no replacement mainboards to buy under 400€. I would buy it, but I am not sure wether there are better ways to repair my Lenovo notebook, or to buy mainboards.
Please help, if you have any hints for me. Thanks

how long have you been using n200?
i usually suggest to buy new computer instead of replacing mainboard.
you can sell other parts on ebay.

"Inaccessible Boot Device" after changing motherboard

Ok, I know this is a known problem. Windows 2000 cannot boot up if you changed motherboard with a new chipset. I should run sysprep with my old BX motherboard before I swap it.
But the reason why I want to upgrade my motherboard is because my old motherboard has spoiled! There is NO WAY I could run sysprep with my non-working BX motherboard!
Is there any better way (such as utility) to force Windows 2000 to detect and install the drivers for the new chipset so that I can keep my old settings and installed programs? I don't want to install a clean Windows and reinstall everything!

try booting from a win2000 CD and re-installing windows. you wont lose data or the sftware on the PC.

Permissions Repair has changed?

I'm quite familiar with permissions checking/repair. Yet recently I've noticed when I run a check, it finishes in under a second. It's not possible to check this fast, so I'm wondering what's going on?

I'll give you my take on it. There seems to be two schools of thought regarding permissions repair. I still haven't completely gotten to the bottom of it yet. One side says that most software related problems you will run into in OS X is rooted in an error(s) in permissions. The other, which is very common on this board it that permissions errors are not "problems", rather just informational messages that aren't that important.
I get frustrated when I hear the latter, as I disagree that an "error" is not a "problem". An "error" sure sounds like a problem to me. If it's not a problem then don't call it an error!
Permissions are like rules. There are three rules types or categories for every file and folder. Read (r), write (w) and execute (x). The permissions system determines who can read, write and execute each file and folder. These rules are abbreviated as a three character grouping like 'rwx'. So 'rwx" would mean you could read, write and execute. In cases where a rule is denied there is a '-'. So 'r--' would indicate you could read, but you could not write or execute.
When you use Permissions Repair you will see permission sets referenced that look like 'drwxrw-r--'. This series of characters consists of a leading designation character, either '-' which indicates a file, or 'd' (for directory) which indicates a folder. Then there are three sets of three. The first set defines access for the owner (the owner is most often the user who created the file. Almost all files and folders in your home directory will have your username listed as the owner), the second set defines access for the group (admin users are members of the groups called "staff" and "admin". The super user "root" is a member of these and several other groups. Non-admin users are members of "staff" only. Typically, all files and folders are assigned to either "staff," "admin," or "wheel") and the third set defines access to others that are not the owner or part of a group.
Permissions Repair does change these settings. In the case of:

Permissions Repair will change drwxrwxr-x to drwxr-xr-x. The difference between the two is that the first one has group write privileges and the second one does not.

Want to change motherboard, because of the Graphics

i've got this Hp Pavilion Dv7 4035 so pc, and im really glad of it!
But the reason i bought this computer was that it looked very nice, for gaming too. But now i realized that the graphics isn't good enough Then i found out that i can´t replace the graphics for itself, but i need to change the motherboard.
I dont know that much of computer hardware and i now ask: Is it possible for me to change the motherboard to one that is more suited for gaming??

If I had been choosing a laptop for gaming I would have chosen the dv7-4283cl or the HP Envy 14-1110NR. Upgrading the motherboard (system board) in a notebook is not worth it. If you want to upgrade the memory or look for a faster CPU or install a fast SSD drive then that is doable and worthwhile.
With notebooks it is an entirely different game than desktop PCs. It is a matter of researching and choosing wisely for the reasons you want a notebook. Sorry to give you bad news, but that is just how it is.

My macbook PRO early-2011 was dropped and the cover of the screen now has a bump, is there a way to repair or change the cover? if so, what would the cost be?

Also the cover under the notebook is screwed up, anyways the unibody is fine but both covers are pretty much damaged, anyway tho change those?

Let's start by highlighting the fact that this repair will not be covered by any form of Apple warranty. That being said, you can check in places like www.powerbookmedic.com or www.ifixit.com for parts prices as a reference. You will have to change the entire lid, with all its guts, but the replacemente procedure is of medium to easy level of difficulty; basically you're disconnecting the cables and unscrewing the lid off.
Note that you can opt for new or used replacement parts.

Reinstalling premiere elements 1.0 after changing motherboard

hi all, i have a problem and would be grateful if there are some advise for me. I have premiere elements 1.0 on a pentium 4 computer running winxp service pack 2. My computer broke down recently and the technicians had to replace a new motherboard. When i click on premiere elements 1.0, it asks me to reinstall the program. I inserted the original disks, it gave me an option to repair or remove. I 1st tried repair, it seems to reinstall the rpogram, but after i restart the computer and click on premiere elements 1.0, it asks me to reinstall the program.I did this twice. Next I choose to remove, but a box pops out to say 'the wizard was interrupted before adobe premiere elements 1.0 could be completely installed.Your system has not been modified.To complete installation at another time, please run setup again'. I tried to remove the program using add/remove program , but it says 'fatal error during installation'. Any advise for me to over come this problem?Thank you

Ouch! At this point it might be worth investing a few dollars in a newer version of the program! (It also would be wise to update to XP SP3, manually go to Windows Update to ensure you have even the Custom/non-critical updates and load the latest version of Quicktime.)
Replacing parts in a very old computer (and I'm guessing this computer must be a good 6 years old) can do some funny things -- especially if your technicians tried to clone or update the hard drive to the new hardware rather than doing a complete reinstall. A lot of programs -- and the operating system itself -- can get very confused with it looks around and finds itself in a whole new environment.
I'm not sure how extensive your computer upgrade was or if your technicians did a complete wipe-and-reinstall of your operating but, assuming everything else is stable, updated and well-tuned, the easiest solution would be to install a later version of Premiere Elements. (I just checked eBay and spotted a copy of Premiere Elements 3 at a Buy It Now price of $12.50, so it doesn't have to be a big investment.)

Transport request showing Repair for changes to OBU1.

I changed a document type assignment to a T code in OBU1.At the time of saving it is automatically generated with work bench request and in request tree it showing Repair, after releasing also it is showing Repair.
I dont understand why it is showing
Object can only be created in SAP package and Repair in request, is i am doing any wrong, please help me.

If any apply OSS Note at the time it will shows repair. I think its not in activate mode. Pls. check its activate mode or not. Then activate it and release. It will release.

Apple store needs to send my MBP for repair to change an HD?????

A bit disappointed here, not only my MBP HD just failed after 11months but my local Apple store (seattle) can't change an HD they have to send it for repair (???) and 2 days after dropping the MBP at the store it is awaiting shipment to the repair station????
It's a good thing I am a Procare member, I wonder how long it would take otherwise...?
I talked to the store twice about an estimated time for the repair, twice I had to remind them I was a Procare member (they did not know....), .
Is there anybody aside from the local store I could contact about this? can't find a number for customer service.

is it possible to put a 1.42 ghz emac motherboard into a 1.25 ghz emac???

There were a lot of 1.25G eMac taht had a terrible logic board defect. It was once covered with an extended repair program ut it expired over two years ago.
A new logic bard can be very expensive/ If you live within driving distance of Eugene, Oregon there is a cost effective option there. Their replacement LBs are pricey:

Repair or change iphone 4

I bought IPHONE 4 about two years ago in London. Currenty I am leaving in Seoul, Korea.
Recently, it is not working with so many problems. Even I visited Apple service centre in Seoul,
they said it cannot be serviced or changed to another phone because I bought it in another country.
Should I through away it with only one reason I am leaving in another country?
Please give me possible soulution otherwise I will never buy Apple product any more.

The warranty for an iPhone is only valid in the country where you bought it and you can only get service for your phone from Apple or an Authorized Service Provider in this country.
You could search for a 3rd party repair center to service your phone if you don't have to chance to bring it back to the UK to get it serviced.

After I change the parfilename I do see that registered
service name get affects, but I still can't use it from
the portal component that resides inside the changed
parfile, unless I change the alias of the service
EVERYWHERE in the project (including soapconfig.xml file).
It makes some sense if I leave the previous par file with
the original service name at the portal, but it doesn't
(at least to me) if I remove the first par file (what
removes the service too) and upload the new one only
with the original service name. What do you say?

You have an M58 tower machine. There are significant CPU upgrade options because you have a CPU at the bottom of the M58s capability list. Yes, the processors have all reached their end of life, but a Core 2 Duo E8500 will be a significant upgrade for you, and they cost next to nothing now on auction sites. You must make sure to find a C0 step CPU, the S-Spec for that will be SLAPK. The E0 step CPU (S-Spec SLB9K) is not guaranteed to work.
