Repair Raid which was created under Panther

Recently a RAID 1 on one of our servers degraded and one of the discs is now shown as "spare". I tried to use "diskutil repairMirror" as described in the Apple Knowledge Base, but the command says that this is a 1.x RAID (which is correct, since it was created under Panther) and has to be converted first.
After some googling it seems to me that it is not a good idea to do the "convertRAID" command on a live system. So what should I do now? I think I have two options:
1) Boot with an old Panther DVD and repair the mirror, then boot from a Tiger DVD and convert the RAID.
2) Boot from Tiger DVD, convert the RAID and then repair it.
What do you think is the better option? Or do you have better ones? I'd love to hear them!

If you have the means to do option 1, I would suggest that one. Repairing any damage before the conversion makes the most sense. However, since the server will be down, you can look at this as an opportunity to simply start from scratch. If you have the means, you can capture your volume to a disk image. Then, destroy the old mirror and recreate a new one under Tiger. Once the new one is created (and you have no OS 9 drivers), then restore the disk image back to the new mirror. Obviously, if your disk is both boot and data, you may need a lot of space.

I have verified few things in server which are mentioned below
Two timer jobs (Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Processing, Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Import) are running fine.
APPFabric Caching service has been started.
Analytics_GUID folder has been
shared with
WSS_ADMIN_WPG and WSS_WPG and Read/Write access was granted
.usage files are getting created and also the temporary(.tmp) file has been created.
uasage logging database for uasage data being transported. The data is available.
Please provide pointers on what needs to be done.

According to your description, my understanding is that you could not use popularity trend after you migrated SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013.

Hi, please help with my issue which is as follows:
A file which was created and saved using Adobe Photoshop CS6 is not opening anymore and sends a message saying that the file is not compatible.
What should I do, I have invested so much in that file and I dont think i will be able to do it all over again.

That's why people do incremental saves and use backups... You could try to open the file in an image viewer like IrfanView and see which parts are salvagable, but that's as good as it gets most likely...

Uggh. That won't work. I don't even know which version of AI last allowed saving so far back. CS6 only allows the AI 88 format and even that is probably merely a concession to the myriad of 3D, CAD, milling/ cutting and whatever programs that use it to import vector files on the smallest common denominator. You will definitely need anotehr version of AI inbetween or another program to save even further back...

I re-created the studio page on Endeca 3.1 which I created on Endeca 2.4 but I am facing below issue.
1. In endeca 2.4 we have added range filter component but I cannot find the same in Endeca 3.1. Has it been renamed .
2. In endeca 2.4 in serach box the drop down shows as all,events,codes but in endeca 3.1 it shows as OPSM(ALL),OPSM(Events).Can these be re-named and can their order be changed?

I was able to get the custom axis title for the metric to display on a bar chart on our 3.1 instance here.
I'll just go throught the steps again - is this what you're doing?
On the Chart Configuration tab, you click the edit icon for the entire metric group (not just the edit icon for the individual Record Count metric).
On the Metric Group dialog, under Axis title, click the Custom title radio button, then enter your custom title. Click Apply to apply the change, then click Save to save the changes to the Chart component.
Your custom axis title should display on the chart.
If these are the steps you are using, and the custom title is not displaying, then I'm not sure what's happening.
As I said, because bar charts can display groups of metrics (for example, you could show both the Record Count and some other value at the same time), you can customize the axis title. For charts where there aren't groups of metrics, you cannot customize the axis title. You also cannot customize the axis title for the dimensions.

When a server socket creates a child socket, on which port it(child) listens? When I tried to print getLocalPort(), it is always printing the port on which server was listening. When a server socket accepts a connection it creates a new socket, I think. It should listen on a port other than the server socket's port. Otherwise if all the child sockets and server listen at the same port my Multithreaded server should not work. Fortunately it is working.
Can anyone of you please clarify this child-port-number?

when you create the socket on your clients you can specify which port the client will communicate from, otherwise it will be randomly generated by the machine:

just to clear something up, why do you care what the client ports are unless you are CLOSING the connection first, re-opening, and sending data back. once the client connects the stream is open. the only port you need to free up for your firewall is the port the sever socket is listening on so the clients dont get rejected when trying to connect.

How do I delete an iCloud email address that was created under my Apple ID?

I have an Apple ID that is used mostly for iTunes. My son has an iPod Touch and wanted to create an iCloud email address to use on his iPod. We created an iCloud email address through my Apple ID, not realizing that now, every time he sends an email, it arrives "from" my name, not his, as the address is attached to my Apple ID and therefore through my account information. We would like to delete his iCloud email address completely so he can open his own personal Apple ID and recreate his iCloud email address through his own new Apple account. We deleted the account from his iPod and also deleted it as a second email address on my AppleID account information. Yet, despite all this, the email address seems to remain attached to my account. Apple Support website and iCloud support did not give us any ideas. Help!

since I posted this question (above), I have read many other questions posted and it seems I am not alone. Seems Apple will not allow people to delete an iCloud email address completely from existence! You can delete it from devices but not from the Apple ID account. What a disappointment, really. In my opinion, the "user-friendly" Apple is really frustrating people who simply want to be able to manage their email addresses for various, valid reasons. Email addresses that have been created should be allowed to be deleted by the creator! Other email services allow this!
One idea I have that may help others in my situation: Rather than delete my son's iCloud email address from my Apple ID account, so that his emails come from HIS name not MINE, I might try to just change the name on my AppleID account from mine to his. He can create a new password too. Then, in the future, if I want to recreate my own Apple ID, I will.

The "Please wait..." message is the shell PDF every dynamic XFA-forms lives in.
A PDF-viewer that doesn't support XFA technology will only display that message.
The fact is, that there is currently no PDF-viewer for mobile divices which will support XFA, even Adobe's Reader mobile doesn't support it.

To set up my apple TV in Hong Kong do I need to have an apple ID that was created from HK?

I'm setting up my new apple TV here in HK, when I go to turn on home sharing it won't let me login via my existing Apple ID which was created in the States. It just keeps telling me I have incorrect user/password when I know it's correct. I could just create a new apple ID from HK but then I won't have access to all the music I've previously purchased.

There is no web browser on the ATV, as a result, it cannot be used with such Internet connections.
Contact whomever provides support for the Wi-Fi service, they may be able to add the ATV to a whitelist to allow it to connect.
