I have a Jukebox 3 which has packed in, it won't get past the annoying start-up screen. I have come to terms with the loss of the music I hadn't backed up & have purchased a new Creative Zen Touch which I am very happy with but my Jukebox has 20GB more memory that I would like to continue using. Has anyone ever had to have a Creative MP3 Player fixed? Who did you use? I am looking for recommendations if anyone can...

I didn't know that the Jukebox 3 had a clean-up/rescue mode (I'll try it) but even if I could find it I can't get past the annoying welcome screen with the picture on it. When I turn it on it gets to this & stalls. I've tried re-setting it but nothing happens. It also won't turn itself off at the usual 5 min idle point. It'll just stay on the welcome screen until it runs out of battery power.

I am trying to request a repair for my ipod which is under warrantee. I go through the process but part way through I get a popup error message saying something like "contact customer support" and then it has a bunch of numbers. I tried doing it again and now I get a message saying "As a security precaution, your session has timed out. If you would like to log back in, please click here." I click there and then it takes me back to the log in page, which when I sign in again, it goes right back to the same screen saying log back in. If I finally get the dead ipod shuffle shuffled off to apple for repair, this will be my third one... I just hope this one doesn't break... and more importantly I hope I can get a new one.

I have gotten to the billing address part, but get a message that says "this zip code does not seem to be valid (somenumber, somenumber)" I entered my area code plus 4-digit extension number to get this message, so then I try it without the 4-digit number and get "more than one possible Jurisdiction Code determine (0,0)". Arg! I have otherthings I could be doing... like writing this poem:
My shuffle has just shuffled off,

This is the second one that's failed,
And it hurts me ever so,
To have to workout with no sound,
Just isn't quite the same,
So call I will, tomorrow day,

Can I get my iphone repaired for free?

I think there is a problem with my Iphone 3GS. I got it as a gift just over a week ago (not sure if it has had previous owners or not) but since I've had it, it seems to have a problem with charging. Now and again when I plug it in to charge it will come up saying 'charging accessory not supported' or something along those lines but I am using the official charger that came with the phone. I have swapped wires and tried multiple chargers but they all seem to have this problem. The phone was on the latest IOS software when I received it too.
It happens on/off and it could be fine for a few days and suddenly it will start doing it again. The phone vibrates as if it is about to start charging but on the second vibration the messages comes up. When the phone reaches 100% charge this messages also occurs and I've asked other Iphone users who have said that it is just my phone that does this. Is there a problem with the phone and can I get it repaired for free? as I believe I have not done anything to cause the problem and it is a fault with the phone itself.
I was told the phone was only a couple of months old so I thought it would still be under warranty but different websites seem to say different things when I type in my serial number.

You can tell from the serial number that your phone was manufactured in the 16th week of 2010 (3rd through 5th digit) and the Apple warranty is 1 year from the date of initial activation. Note that the warranty follows the phone.
However, in your case with the SN you provided, your phone is a 16GB black 3GS locked to O2 in the UK and was originally sold in the UK and has as the most recent activation date 6/15/2012.
Unfortunately, https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do shows that your warranty has expired.
I suspect that you are having a problem with the dock connector in the phone not making a consistently good contact. As others have mentioned, make sure that your connector is clean (no lint) perhaps by using a soft tooth brush. Since you are using Apple chargers and cables and have swapped cables then if cleaning the port doesn't work it would appear that your only option is to have the charger port replaced. Now, I'm assuming that the phone was never opened to replace a screen, battery or other repair because if it was there would be the possibility that a connector is loose or bad.

How much would a repair for an unresponsive volume button cost for an iPad 3?

The volume button for decreasing the volume as stopped working and has been unresponsive to restarting the my 3rd gen iPad, and doing a hard shut down. My AppleCare warranty for my device has expired and I would like to know how much a repair for this would cost. It should be noted that the button for increasing he volume still works but since the buttons are technically one button on the device my assumption is that both buttons would have to be replaced. If you could shed some light on whether I should repair my iPad or buy the iPad Air, (whichever one seems cheapest or most cost effective in the long run). Large repairs for a Macbook

Hi,
I got my Macbook in Nov '07 and I have never looked back. I really like Macintosh products and I think they generally have better durability and performance than others. Well yesterday my Macbook seems to have completely had it, however there has been underlying issues with it. My Macbook will not load to the Finder screen at all, it just stops at the Apple logo. I have tried resetting the SMC and PRAM but it still has not solved the issue.
Anyways back to the underlying problems. The first major issue I noticed was that my trackpad and keyboard stopped working and I did the quick ''Paper'' fix which made my keyboard work but my trackpad and mouse button had now lost a lot of usability. The next problem was the large crash I had this Summer. My macbook had never properly recovered from that. I saw the performance of my Macbook dramatically decreased, it would crash more frequently especially when I browsed the internet. I also believe the crash led to greater problems, for example when another Laptop used the router either wireless or the ethernet connection, my Laptop would pretty much be completely useless as the rainbow spinning ball would constantly appear if you made a single click. I also have other issues such as the fraying of the casing.
So that is basically it, so my question is, Well I do not have AppleCare nor do I have the Leopard Install disc 1 but how much would a cost for repairs. I am not too fazed about the repairs for the fraying though.

You can try fingernail polish or acrylic paint of the right color. However, I would just get a case that covers the scratches then best you can.

So I set my phone on a stack of towels on vacation while I took a shower, It slipped and fell off due to the angle while I was in the shower and the screen is smahshed. I have applecare, but I dont have the extra money for a full on replacement.

Send to repair for Moo or wait?

I have a week 19 2Ghz MB. It works flawlessly other than the annoying mooing problem. I was waiting for some kind of SMC firmware upgrade that would fix it. I read here that apple now acknowledges the problem as a hardware one that will require to send the unit in for repair.
I have been also reading all the other horror stories people are having with the newer MBs like the sudden shutdown or the blank wake-from-sleep.
My dilemma is, should I send the unit in for repair, risking getting one of the other worse problems, or is there still hope for a software upgrade?
And for anyone who actually sent their units to be repaired for the moo problem. Did they actually fix it?

The short answer is "no."
I have a week 19 1.83Ghz MB. A few of my arrow keys were not always working unless you depressed hard enough. The same light force I use on regular keys would not always work on the left and up arrow key.
My Mac mooed, had a whine that disappeared with the Photo Booth trick, and had a Power brick that sizzled when charging from a low state. My MB ran pretty warm, usually right near or just below the moo threshold.
I called Apple and they issued a Dispatch. The MB came back a few days ago. Apple's third party repair service replaced the PCB, MLB, DC, the hard drive and top case.
My MB still mooed and had the whine near the mag safe.
What was really bad was the new trackpad button. It was horrible; mushy with no feedback unless you clicked in the top-middle. The new hard drive was a Toshiba, which now causes the computer to vibrate. My first HD was a Fujitsu, which was totally vibration free.
The only upside was that the MB now seemed to run cooler. But there was no way I could live with that track pad. The paper trick made it tolerable, but I called Apple and it's now on the way back.
I asked them to please but a Fujitsu back in and to use a Sunon fan. Can't hurt to ask.... Let's hope they can get the Trackpad right. My original clicker was perfect.

Every once in a while I'll verify permissions using disk utility. A few weeks ago I ran the verify disk and it came up with an issue like the one below. I repaired it and now it has happened again. This is the 3rd time actually. Is my SSD having issues and need replacement or is this common?

The repair is inevitable and the sooner done the less data corruption will occur. Since the previous repair, has any app crashed or have you had to force-quit one? Under normal circumstances, this is the usual cause: the app craps out and doesn't get a chance to free up disk space used on temp files and such before croaking.
