Reparar portatil Lenovo G450

Buenos días,
Tengo este portátil desde hace relativamente poco ( menos de 2 años) y desgraciadamente se me ha llevado un buen golpe por una caída partiendo parte de la carcasa, el ordenador sigue funcionando bien (quizás más lento, pero no se si se deberá al golpe) también se que como es normal no lo cubre la garantía pero me gustaría saber si puedo repararlo y donde puedo dirigirme para ello ya que no soy capaz de encontrar ningún correo para contactar con el servicio técnico de Lenovo ya que casi todo lo que sale es para cuestiones de garantía, es muy buen ordenador y me gustaría arreglarlo . Mira, estos son los BP de espana. los que tienen la marca de la herramienta son proveedores de servicios de lenovo. Contactalos a ver cual de estos ofrece servicio fuera de garantia.

Lenovo G450 - Want to connect VGA to Plasma TV with HDMI inputs

Hello Community
I was hoping to get some verification on this from someone that owns a Lenovo G450 Model 2949. I want to understand if I can connect this notebook to my older plasma TV through the VGA output connector. My TV supports S-video, HDMI and Component. Can I purchase any one of those types of VGA to S-video/HDMI/Component connectors and it will work? Will there be any loss of quality when you push the laptop video signal onto the television?

Welcome to the forums
The quality of the display would remain like a normal vga connection as your laptop does not support hdmi/no hdmi port. So it is better hooking up via a vga cable.

Speakers Not Work When Diplay is in Upright Position - Lenovo G450

I have a Lenovo G450. Recently the built-in speakers will not work when the display monitor is in open position. The speakers will work when display monitor is half closed. How can I fix this problem?

The speaker is installed at the bottom of the notebook please make me correct if it is on Display Panel.
Make sure you have the updated Audio driver and BIOS.

Lenovo G450 keeps CRASHING

HI,
I just recently bought a Lenovo G450 with the ff. specs:
Intel P8700 2.53 GHz
3 GB RAM (originally 2GB but was upgraded to 3GB as part of a promo)
320 GB HDD
The unit keeps crashing whenever I am on the internet or playing games (mouse and everything has NO RESPONSE, sound repeats like a broken recorder) and I end up manually shutting down the unit (hold down the power button for a few seconds). This happens in less than 1 hour of use...
I checked the lenovo website and cross checked it with my device manager, all drivers seems to be updated.... I also ran a THOROUGH HDD error check but to no avail...
Am I the only one experiencing this? Is there a software solution for this problem (driver updates maybe?)??

Hi,
Nope, its still crashing.. but now it happens in about 5mins of use! I can't use the thing now... I plan to bring it to the service center now since my time gets eaten up every time I troubleshoot.
I'm really frustrated with this since this is my first lenovo laptop.. I thought I would be buying an excellent unit (considering the specs vs price)..turns out to be the opposite..
Here's a recap of the problems I experienced (please confirm if we have the same problem):
Everytime it crashes/freeze (no mouse, keyboard response, sound repeats like broken recorder), I do manual shutdown. Wait 20secs, then restart it (choose the Normal Start-up). Sometimes McAfee and NVIDIA shows errors (deactivated), sometimes it doesn't. McAfee automatically restarts during its regular update.
After 5mins-1hr, the thing crashes/freezes up again. The next restart I do, it automatically goes to Error check, then asks me if want to do a system restore. I accept, then still the SAME thing! It crashes/freezes again!
BTW, here are the list of the things I did to troubleshoot but didn't help:
1) Updated all drivers
2) Updated NVIDIA Graphics (G210M) driver (the most updated is found in the NVIDIA website).
3) Uninstalled the McAfee Anti-Virus. McAfee gets deactivated after a crash. So I thought it was the problem..wrong move on my part... the crash interval decreased significantly (1hr to about 5mins) after I uninstalled it. I replaced it with a free AVG Anti-virus just to kill the WARNING about missing anti-virus protection.
4) Thorough HDD Scan - all OK.
5) Ran the laptop in SAFE MODE. It doesn't crash anymore after 10mins of use! But I didn't test long enough (since you can't really do anything on SAFE MODE) so I'm not quite sure.
6) Next I'll try to deactivate all services in MSCONFIG and start them up 1 by 1 to isolate the corrupt/faulty service.
I'll keep you posted on any development.

Lenovo G450 battery stucks at 0% and it sshows plugged in,charging

You mentioned that you purchased a new battery for the G450 system. To replace this battery, you will need to contact the person or the store that sold you this battery (eg. If you purchased it from Amazon.com, you will need to contact Amazon) as the battery can only be replaced from the place of purchase.

Lenovo G450 get´s slow

Hi, i buy a Lenovo G450 like 10 months ago, and all was alright, it was fast, and completely a super laptop, but one day, like three months ago, i have an error on a windows file, and the operative system crash, so i reinstall and function okay , but at the week, it passed another time, so i decide to erase windows and install linux, everything was okay but i go to vacations for 1 month and when i come back i was so slow!! it takes like 10 minutes to turn on, and you can not do anything cause it will super slow donw -_- so i reinstall windows another time, but nothing, it gets slow and slow, and i dont know what to do, i dont have the recovery files or a backup disc, then a friend thats a expert on that things said me that it can be a problem on the hard drive and i need to send it to the factory to repair it, but i know there should be another solution,

Update: Sometimes it saves at normal speed aswell, only spending a few seconds.
So I decided to look closer at the system monitor, and it seemes like premiere is using 8,1 GB memory (In preferences max available is set to 9 GB). Is seemes to stagger at that approx 8 196 000 kb limit, indicating that memory usage might be the cause of operation slowing down?? (I'm not a computer expert, so please correct me:)
CPU usage doesn't seem to go beyond 50 % at any times.

Lenovo G450 Freezes randomly

System - Lenovo G450
intel C2D 2.2 GHZ
4GB RAM
320 GB HDD
I had it for about 6months now. For the past month or so it started freezing randomly when left open for more than an hour.initially it was once in 2-3 days but now it seems to be doing that more often. everything just freezes mouse, screen, keyboard even "Ctrl Alt Del" wouldnt work. i have to force the shutdown by long pressing the power button. it does that randomly some days it wouldnt freeze at all. searching through forums found that it could be power management issue. i tried changing power management options and disabling "sleep" without success. I hope its not a hardware/motherboard issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

These are the common problem
a) Most of the freezes I have experienced are due to graphic card problem. This is IMHO a intel-lenovo, or Nvdia-lenovo driver problem.
b) A second common source of problem is overheating of the graphic card, especially during intense movie, gaming.
c) A rare but possible problem is the window networking (especially window xp) trying to find the domain, IP address, network cache or whatever. The issue was so random that I don't think there was a solution. You will experience this if you ever try to connect to a network and find a disk drive, it just 'freeze' till the correct IP and window network name is 'resolved'. Some googled solutions shows that you can set the search time to faster, eg 1 second instead of the default.....with some compromise of course.
My suggestion is
a) You can try process tamer, a freeware at http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/proctamer/ What this does is to reduce the process that is hogging the system and at least give you back some control from the 'freezing'. This works great for me when using XP. You can also see which process is the culprit
b) From Bios set the CPU Stepping to be 'balance' instead of maximum performance for AC or battery operation mode.
c) You can download an official window 7 that can be tested for 30 days before activation is required. Set a 30GB partition and install this into that partition. When bootup you can choose XP or window 7. This is for you to use window 7 to see if the freezing still occurs.

Lenovo G450 Standby/Hibernation Problem

Hi, I've been having the same problem as http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-3000-and-Value-line/G460-standby-hibernation-problem/td-p/216132 , my Lenovo G450 came with a blank screen when I tried to turn it on from hibernation today. I've tried removing the battery, running it on power only, or both, but none of them seem to get it out of the blank screen state. It does come back out of the state after a whole week of being switched off, but being a busy student overseas, I find this to be quite the hindrance to my studies and recreations.
I sent it to the Lenovo service centre in Singapore in April, but they returned it to me saying it doesn't have any problems.
I also have the heat problem stated in http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-3000-and-Value-line/G450-gets-too-hot-shuts-down/td-p/200020 despite the fact that I actually have a STAND AIR CONDITIONER pointed at the exhaust.

Also, please don't suggest that I install the BIOS update, since I can't even get the system to start. Indicator lights come up, touch volume control works, DVD drive bay opens, but nothing else.

Some other things to try:
Make sure you post and add your input to the two threads you linked to.
A couple hardware things, these should not affect warranty, as you are allowed
to change memory and hard drive. I don't know how much of this you know already:
Do the "discharge procedure" again first.
Reseat memory modules. (Unplug, remove battery, touch a grounded metal object,
remove memory chips, and replace one at a time. Try it with just one first to eliminate
memory failure. Then the other by itself, then both.)
Remove hard drive and see if you can boot to bios (F2 key on boot
Hard drive is under a plate on bottom, just carefully slide it back with the tab,
and remove, holding it by the sides.
If these do not help, I guess it must be returned to service again?
I am surprised they found no problem!

Lenovo G450 - DVD-ROM problem

I got a lenoo G450 laptop wth a Windows 7 OS installed on it. The problem is that sometimes my DVD-ROM is not detected even i reboot the system.
What's suppose to be the problem here?

Lenovo G450 cannot boot !!

Hi everybody,
I need some help with my laptop Lenovo G455.
A few days ago I cannot boot. I try reboot again for a few times and it started and worked fine till this morning.
Now I cannot boot anymore.... When I push the button the power led goes on, fan starts running, but
there is no hard drive activity, screen in black.... I cannot pass POST or acces bios...
I pushed the system recovery button and had the same result.... no boot.
I tried to reset it, leaving it without battery and plug connection for a while,
than pressing the button for 30 seconds, many times, than connecting plug and push button.
Nothing happened...Desconnected the hard drive ... nothing...
   what'up with it ???
How can I reset it and make it boot?
Please someone help me fix it !!!!

I'm sorry to hear on what happened with your computer,
        This seemed to be a POST Issue
    POST will check Main Components of the computer like
              System Board
              Processor
              RAM(Memory)
              HDD
              GPU
      and it will not continue if one component is not responding correctly.
Here are Few things you can try
> Try it without the Hard Drive, BIOS will still be accessible with F2.
> Try just 1 Memory(RAM) card at a time and try that to all the Memory slot of the computer
     Try cleaning the Memory pin connectors you can follow this post
> Try an external display to isolate Display Issue
If all this Did not work I would suggest calling Technical Support  for assistanceto have the Mainboard Checked
    Might be an Issue with the Processor, GPU or the Mainboard itself.

Problem in dual boot xp & windows 7--Lenovo g450

I installed Windows 7 & xp and i set up dual boot menu also. The problem is Windows 7 works only with ACHI HDD configuration in BIOS and XP works only with IDE HDD configuration in BIOS. So eyery time i boot other os, i have to set HDD configuration in BIOS. Is there any solution to avoid the BIOS settings change?

Put the HDD to IDE. Install XP, Leave it IDE install Win7 and they both will dual boot. Thats what I used to triple boot.

Upgrade ram for Lenovo G450

I have an laptop G450 - model 2949.
it have a ram 1G bus 1066
now 1 ian tu upgrade ram to 2G and bus 1333
may be have problem????

you can upgrade ram to 2 gb but i don't think bus 1333 will work.
stay with bus 1066 models.
