Repeat Last Action?

I'm fairly new to FM9 and am wondering if this feature exists already (and I just don't know about it). Coming from MS Word, it has a great "repeat last action" function hooked up to the F4 key. As I've been selecting text in FM and applying a character tag over & over again, I began to wonder if there was a faster way. I used to use the pod to begin with, but now have resorted to just right-clicking to navigate to the character tags. A "repeat last action" would be great in this case.

Not quite, but useful for your request:
* Tap and release these keys in sequence:
- Escape c c (lowercase c) repeat last font command
- Escape j j (lowercase j) repeat last paragraph command

In the hungarian version of the Adobe Illustrator CS6 I cannot find the ctrl+D as repeat last action.
I cannot even find the repeat last action (... again) anywhere.

Is there any way to repeat the last action on a new selection?

I'm playing with Pages to see if I can use it instead of Word. I'm very expert with Word, just starting with Pages. Like some things, don't like some, but I think it's worth continuing to play with it to see if it will work for me. One problem I've been having is repeating an action. In Word, if you do something (in the particular situation I just had, it was deleting a row in a table), and then click on another place and do command-Y, it repeats what you did. Similarly, if you format a word as bold, say, and then select another word and do command-Y the second word will also be made bold. I realize the latter can be done in pages by selecting "emphasis" style for the second word, but I couldn't figure out any work-around for deleting the table rows (I tried selecting several non-adjacent rows, but "delete row" was greyed out on the actions menu). Any way to do this that I've missed?

Thanks anyway. I'm sorry that Apple didn't include a "repeat" keyboard shortcut - going to the Inspector and then the actions wheel and then "delete row" time after time wasn't fun.
I'm afraid I failed to communicate well about outline format - I didn't mean a bulleted or numbered list, I do know how to do that, but rather making a single character (or in my particular interest a symbol, the diamond and heart suit symbols) appear in outline text format. You can do it by going to format->font->outline, but if I want to do it for several occurrences of the same thing (or a few different things), it's not much fun to do it that way. But maybe I can define a character format that's outline and that will work. Still would prefer to have a keyboard shortcut to apply the character format though.
Incidentally, while I'm talking about diamonds and hearts, is there any way to change the amount of space that gets put in after the diamond and heart symbols if you insert them using Edit->Special Characters? I write a lot of documents that use those symbols and lines end up unevenly spaced because of the large amount of space below each symbol (I've figured out a partial work-around - I defined a style for "body after suit symbol" that is raised enough to get the line spacing right, but that only works when I want to have a hard return at the end of the line with the suit symbols, since if the lines wrap, both lines have to have the same paragraph formatting. This problem isn't really Pages related - I have the same difficult with Word .

Open the Security pane of System Preferences and check the box to require the password to wake from sleep or screen saver. In the Desktop & Screen Saver pane, set up the screen saver to activate when the mouse is at a specific corner. The screen saver can be unlocked with the password of the person who is logged in to the machine or with any administrator password.

Redo last action not working

I am new to Pages and am playing with it to see what it can do. In the course of this I have tried to do an action e.g.: copy and paste some text on the page, and then redo this action again somewhere else in my doc and "Redo" last action is greyed out. I wondered if this might be because of the type of action I was trying to do, so I tried again, this time applying a Paragraph style to some text one place in the doc and then trying to repeat this later on in the doc. Still nothing.
I repeated this process with several different types of actions and each time the "Redo" is greyed out.
Am I doing something wrong? I know that there is an alternative in that I can go and do each repeated action manually, but this takes more time when I have a 100+ page document to work on (and have RSI and prefer not to move my arm around too much.)

That is not what Redo is.
Redo undoes Undo. You can only Redo as many times as you have gone Undo.
To apply styles, create a new style in the Format sidebar, click on the text you wish to apply it to and then on the Named Style in Format. This applies to Paragraph, Character, List and Object Styles.
You can also Copy Style and Paste Style from under the Format menu.

Redo Last Action Plug-in

Is it possible to make a plug-in that could repeat the last action? For example, user rotates Object1, then selects Object2, run plug-in — and Object2 rotates in the same way.
I wanted to implement this plug-in via Undo / Redo list of commands but CmdStackItem class is closed for third-parties. So... maybe it is possible by handling all processed command and saving the last one. How do you think?

You can observe the commands, but the aktual task is not trivial.
There is no silver bullet to clone a command, you'd have to implement that for about 1591 commands.
Also expect many surprises such as
- commands that target multiple items ( that's a UIDList for a purpose ... ).
- commands that screw up their parameters - see the recent "duplicate swatch" thread
- commands that schedule or process other commands, across multiple levels
Btw, for the use case you described, there are already the menu "Object" / "Transform again" actions.

Redo last action

I can't find any way (keyboard shortcut or menu item) of doing this.
I think it's my most commonly used shortcut bar Ctrl-Z when I'm
working in MS Office, where it's Ctrl-Y. Is there an equivalent?
For example, the author of an article wants all names of people in
bold. So I find the first name, highlight it and apply my bold
character style. In Word, I can then highlight the next name and hit
Ctrl-Y to bold it. What do I do in ID CS3?

Thanks to all three of you. Sure, I can assign keyboard shortcuts to
*specific* actions (although using a laptop with no numeric keypad
makes that a little bit more difficult). I was after a shortcut to
repeat the *last* action taken, whatever that might have been. I
gave the example of applying a character style; I could have
mentioned an example from Excel - select a column and adjust its
width. Then select some other columns, hit Ctrl-Y and they all
assume the same width - very useful for, say, financial stuff, where
automatic adjustment of column widths would give visually sloppy
varying widths.
Since none of you have come up with the answer, I have to accept it
doesn't exist. Pity.

How to reference the output of a repeat item action in relation to the repeated inputs?

For example; I have 3 actions:
Action 1: output produces 6 entries in a list (with unique IDs)
Action 2: repeats over action 1's output, produces a list of 'results' for each as an output list of 6 entries.
I now want to use Action 3 to update the items using their ID output from Action1 with the relevant result from Action2.
In psuedocode; I'd do something like this to set the 6 results iteratively : MyItems( action1.outputs[x].id ) . results = Action2.outputs[x]
I'm unsure of the syntax in Logic Apps to achieve this, any help appreciated!

Currently there is no build in solution to support such a scenario. You would need to set up an ApiApp that applies the assignment and returns the new object. In order to access the corresponding outputs of action1 and action2 you can repeat over the range
of indices -- that is, assuming you don't know then numbers of entries in advance, let action3 (that consumes the new custom ApiApp) repeat over
@range(0, length(outputs('action1').repeatItems))
you can then pass the data as inputs to action3 using
@outputs('action1').repeatItems[repeatItem()]
@outputs('action2').repeatItems[repeatItem()]

I am playing a facebook game called Kingdom of Camelot. This come up when I refresh the game. To my knowledge no information is sent. I need it to stop interfering with my page when i refresh . I have deleted/uninstalled my extensions and plug ins and i am still getting the message.

Perhaps someone should report this to MarketWatch. There are ways for web developers to work around this issue (GET after POST, for example).

In past discussions about this message, I have never seen an easy solution. Arguably it should be made a user preference: those who prefer to be warned about the risk that they will double-submit a transaction or instruction on a poorly designed site can have their warning, and those who prefer to take their chances can take their chances. Not sure whether that is on anyone's "to do" list.
Separate issue: I wasn't aware of any difference between 3.6.12 and 3.6.13, but both are riddled with security vulnerabilities so it's hard to recommend using either of them at this point.

Status of Last Action is "Failed" when StartScriptEnabled is set to true

Hi,
I have set StartScriptEnabled to true in nodemanager.properties file and restarted managed server through console. After restart, eventhough the managed server state is "Running", the status of last action is "FAILED". When I stop the server through console, the state is showing as "FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE" although I can start the server after this message.
Can someone help me why I'm seeing these messages when I set StartScriptEnabled is set to true. If I set this to false, I'm not seeing the "FAILED" messages.
The only error I see is the below error in nodemanager.log file.

All the managed servers are running in without any errors. The only error I see is failed in node manager log. I don't see any error or warnings in stdout and stderr logs even if debug is enabled.

How can I include in my VI actions like "Undo last action/redo last action"?

I built a Vi and I want to include functions like Undo (last action) and Redo (last action).

If you have the Menu Bar visible when your VI runs - this Forms your Default VI run-time Menu. You will discover a built in Undo and Redo Functions under "Edit" Menu. This fuction can be added to your custom Menus or .rtm files.
However, this undo fuctionality is limited to data change only, which means it will erase the last control change. This Undo will not reverse any data propagated as a result of your last control change. Here is an example.
Say you are taking a continuously polled value of a String control and building a Path using this, and you have a Button that says "Process Path" which ends the polling and brings you out of the While Loop. In this example if you change the value of String Control and Say Undo you will be reverted to Previo
us Value. However If after changing the Value you Clicked the "Process Path" Button, you will be Out of your While Loop with the Path being built with the Last value of String Control before "ProcessPath" was clicked. Now Clicking Undo tries to Reverse the Last Control Which was "Process Path" This has no effect on Path Value. The Undo Function will not reverse the Data which has Propagated and take you backwards in the diagram. It will simply reverse the Data Changed on the last Control.
Therefore if you want a robust "Undo" and "Redo" you will have to program this functionality, Basically you will have to trap values of all controls and on data change remember these values. On Undo you can then Change the values of Controls back to Previous Value and Also take your Diagram back to Where the Last action had impacted any data propagation.
All this - mind you - is for a single level undo. It will get complex to do Multiple Level Undo.

What does it mean when I get a message which says: To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier?

This error message comes up when I am trying to get a log in box to come up on a particular secure website. Sometimes the log in box does come up, but when I go to log in nothing happens.

You get an alert about resending POST data if you go back to a page or refresh a page that was previously requested from the server by submitting form data via a (hidden) POST form. 
Firefox can only make sure to get the same page by resending that POST form. 
Firefox doesn't know what that form data means, so Firefox asks for confirmation before resending that form data as such an action can cause you to repeat an action and buy another item or post a message another time. 
A way to prevent that pop-up is not to use the Back button, but to open links from a page that was requested from a server by sending a POST form in a new tab (window) with a middle-click or a Ctrl + left-click. 
Then you can close that tab or window to go back.
