Repeat of Last Delta

Hi BW Gurus,
One of our scheduled loads through process chain failed (while loading from ODS to cube) as there was another load that was triggered from the ODS to cube at the same time, to populate a new cube from the ODS with a delta init.
Now if i repeat the failed process chain it is starting <b>repeat of last delta</b>, then the process tries to load >1000K records (from ODS) again into the cube. this should ideally only load 20K records (delta data).In ODS the last delta shows 25K records which is normal.
Please let me know how this can be reversed. Is there any way by which i can stop this repeat of last delta. and load normal delta ?

I tried to delete the wrong request from infocube & reloaded data. But the problem is that it is running the 'Repeat of last delta' once again. (this is loading duplicate records)
I have tried to change the total status to red and once again tried to load a data but this also result in same above problem.

By a mistake we have loaded data from PSA twice in our data targets.
It's a delta load, so my question is can we delete the data update 'Repeat of last delta' without destroying the daily delta load.

Thank you. I actually went for another solution.
I'm still not convienced that if I delete the request if wouldn't mess up our daily delta load (I'll try this on our sandbox). Instead I leave the request as you said in the DSO's and the made a selective deletion on the cube (with request SID as criteria).

When exactly does the source system recognizes the last delta is successful/failed?
Case -1: In logistic applications..
             What if I changed quality status to red for a successfully completed delta, and then requested new delta?
Case -2 : In Financial applications..
              When exactly BWOM2_TIMEST fields updated. I mean BW acknowledges to the delta load immediately saying it is successful or fail, or at the time when we request the next delta?

Here's the explanation:
Scenario 1 -Logistics Delta
Sinc logistics delta comes from Delta Queue (RSA7) and IP takes daa from Delta queue so betwen RSA7 and BW, IDocs are transferred which sends messages for successful completon of extraction. As soon as extraction is over and a particular IDoc is sent to BW the BW marks the delta s successful. This happenes exactly when job is Source system completes Now if you make a successful delta as red then the IP identifies that last delta was not successful and requestes a repeat of last delta which again goes to RSA7 and picks the last delta and also the new deltawhich has come in RSA7. Note: RSA7 stores both new delta records and one last successful delta records(for delta repeat)
Scenario 2 - FI Delta
Sinc FI deltas are based on timestamp mechanism there are 2 possibilities:
a) The extraction fails while picking records from R/3 table (G/L, Ap and AR tables). In this case the timestamp isnot registered in BWOM2_TIMEST table and arepeat will work fine.
b) The load fails during procssing in BW (e.g update rules processing) and the job has completed in R/3 and has set the timestamp in table BWOM_TIMEST. In this case we will have to reetthe tmestamp and run the delta again.

Missed last delta for 0FI_GL_4

Hi Gurus,
We missed the last delta records from ECC to BI with respective to 0FI_GL_4 Extartor,
this was happen due to table space issue in ecc the current Delta job was in released status and running from long time.
I made the request into red in BI and repeated the Infopackage, and that fetch only 4 records and mode shows Delta run, not showing as Repeatof the last deltd,
when i check previos job in Ecc which was released mode now it got completed and send ore than 1lak records, but in monitor it's showing as below.
"Error when updating Idocs in Business Information Warehouse
Diagnosis
Errors have been reported in Business Information Warehouse during IDoc update:
No status record was passed to ALE by the applicat"
Please help me in getting these delta records into BI.

Once the delta is missed and deleted from PSA too, you will not be able to retrieve it in the delta mode from R/3 itself. When you try to do a re-extract only the latest delta request will be picked since only that will be maintained in your source system.
In the case of BI 7.0 your only option to to pull data once again is to reinitialize and load repair Full updates.

How many times you can repeat a failed delta?

Hi, Expert, I am facing with an failed delta that loads data from a DSO to another. I have repeated the delta 4 times. The first two times, it failed with deadlock, the 3rd time, it failed with out of internal memory issue and now I am getting 6 system core dumped. Just wondering, if there is limit that one can repeat a failed delta? If anyone have any idea about what need to be done on system core dumps, it will be greatly appreciated.

Glad that I am able to answer my own questions.
1. Yes, you can repeat a delta multiple times without damaging the delta queue. (need to change QM status to red before delete the request and then repeat the delta by either running the infopackage manually or repeat the failed infopackage in a process chain)
2. The memory/deadlock/system core dump issues may be fixed by decreasing MAXLINE parameter in ROIDOCPRMS through SBIW. I don't know exactly what MAXLINE is used for but I have a guess that MAXLINE controls how often a data package commit to the database. My issue was that in the start routine of an update rule, for every record from the source, it generates 13 records so it increases the size of a data package 13 times and causes the various dumps. By decreasing MAXLINE only and even each data package still generates half million records, the data load didn't fail.

in data loading we are facing problem, and the error is
Last delta update is not yet completed
Therefore, no new delta update is possible.
You can start the request again
if the last delta request is red or green in the monitor (QM activity)
today data is not loaded i have checked the data targets there are two error(red) records are there, so i deleted these red records diectly with out marking to red even though records are in red.
now i am repating the loading system is showing the above message.
please help me how to load the data.

First make the status red in DSO or cube what ur loading by doing QM activity.Then goto monitor RSMO and then make the status RED.So only u can able to reload.If u didnt make the status red u will get the above message.

In excel Alt F4 (I think) repeats your last action. I can't find a similar command or short cut key in numbers. Can anyone help me?

About last delta update error

Hi Experts.
I have error during executing infopackage with delta master data.
while executing infopackage, the source system is dead. so there's something wrong about delta thing.
on job's msg says :Requesting the last delta for master data is not supported - Message no. RSM792.
and when i tried to execute infopackage again, then i can see this msg
: Last delta update is not yet completed
Therefore, no new delta update is possible.
You can start the request again
if the last delta request is red or green in the monitor (QM activity)
on rsmo i set status to red, when i tried to execute infopackage again, then i can see this msg:
The last delta update was incorrect !
Therefore, no new delta update is possible.
You can cancel the request or:
Attempt to load the data of the last delta update again.
how can i execute this infopackage and update last delta?

How to repeat the last 2 request via delta?

Hi,
I have loaded data into a DSO from R/3. After that I loaded further into an other DSO, but it was inconsistent and it could not have activated it. So the last 2 Request in the 2. DSO were bad, I set the request to "red", deleted them, and now I want to reload them again (from the change log table of the first DSO). When I make a delta repeat, the system loads only the last one request.
What should I do?

Hi Joe,
in such cases I do the following:
1. delete all requests you want to reload in the second DSO
2. reset the datamart status in the first DSO for the latest request by clicking on the "where used" button at the end of the line
3. reset the datamart status in the first DSO for the older request in the same way.
if there are more requests you have to do this for each request you want to reload. Attention: if there are requests which were activated together so they have the same activation request number (collum "PSA request number generated when request is activated") the datamart status will be reset for these requests in one step.
4. press the refresh button and check if the datamart status is reset for all requests you want to repeat.
5. load delta from first to second DSO. This delta will contain each request which is not marked with to "where used" icon. You can check this for your DTP in the monitor under header -> selections. There should be both requids (if you're usind old update rules you can check it also in RSMO under details -> databasis)

Repeat of last request for new OC4J with Java SSO

Problem: When a request is redirected to the 2nd OC4J in a group, reauthentication with Java SSO occurs as expected. However, the request has to be repeated with the 2nd OC4J before it is actually executed. How can I fix this?
Scenario:
Java SSO is set up for 2 OC4J instances (home1 and home2) in the same server and group.
The same ADF application is deployed to both OC4J instances.
1st request goes to home1. User logs in on java_sso login page.
Home1 dies.
User clicks on link to navigate to a different page. 2nd request is submitted.
Log messages for home2 show the reauthentication.
Navigation to the different page doesn't happen.
User clicks the link again.
This time, navigation occurs as expected.

I don't think starting a new OC4J for failover will resolve this problem since the requests are being routed to the other OC4J in the group when the first one "fails". It's just the matter of having to resubmit the last request made when the first OC4J fails.
Since I made the original post, I added application clustering to see if that would resolve this. It doesn't. I did verify that I have the same session id with the 2nd OC4J. Any other ideas would be appreciated!

Last Delta Not Supported for this extractor

Is there any way to repeat the last action on a new selection?

I'm playing with Pages to see if I can use it instead of Word. I'm very expert with Word, just starting with Pages. Like some things, don't like some, but I think it's worth continuing to play with it to see if it will work for me. One problem I've been having is repeating an action. In Word, if you do something (in the particular situation I just had, it was deleting a row in a table), and then click on another place and do command-Y, it repeats what you did. Similarly, if you format a word as bold, say, and then select another word and do command-Y the second word will also be made bold. I realize the latter can be done in pages by selecting "emphasis" style for the second word, but I couldn't figure out any work-around for deleting the table rows (I tried selecting several non-adjacent rows, but "delete row" was greyed out on the actions menu). Any way to do this that I've missed?

Thanks anyway. I'm sorry that Apple didn't include a "repeat" keyboard shortcut - going to the Inspector and then the actions wheel and then "delete row" time after time wasn't fun.
I'm afraid I failed to communicate well about outline format - I didn't mean a bulleted or numbered list, I do know how to do that, but rather making a single character (or in my particular interest a symbol, the diamond and heart suit symbols) appear in outline text format. You can do it by going to format->font->outline, but if I want to do it for several occurrences of the same thing (or a few different things), it's not much fun to do it that way. But maybe I can define a character format that's outline and that will work. Still would prefer to have a keyboard shortcut to apply the character format though.
Incidentally, while I'm talking about diamonds and hearts, is there any way to change the amount of space that gets put in after the diamond and heart symbols if you insert them using Edit->Special Characters? I write a lot of documents that use those symbols and lines end up unevenly spaced because of the large amount of space below each symbol (I've figured out a partial work-around - I defined a style for "body after suit symbol" that is raised enough to get the line spacing right, but that only works when I want to have a hard return at the end of the line with the suit symbols, since if the lines wrap, both lines have to have the same paragraph formatting. This problem isn't really Pages related - I have the same difficult with Word .

Enqueue/Dequeue is repeating the last queued element

I am trying to aquire data from a camera at 256fps in one for loop, enqueueing the data after each frame is acquired. A seperate while loop is supposed to dequeue each image and stream it to a binary file, acheiving the maximum imaging speed possible by seperating the data acquisition from the saving routine.
However, this is not happening. The files are being queued and dequeued correctly UNTIL the acquisition for loop reaches completion (for example after 500 cycles) at which point the dequeue VI stops passing successive images to the binary write VI and just sends the last dequeued image over and over again until 500 images have been written to the binary file.
Can anyone suggest why this might be happening?

The queue approach is still the best architecture for your
application. Instead of converting the image to an array, have you tried
flattening each image to a string and passing this into the que?
You can then un-flatten from the string in the non-deterministic loop.

Create Abstract List from Node contains repeat of last node element

My custom controller is giving me fits.
I have a structure (Empl_Pernr) in my model that needs to be part of the input before calling a second BAPI. The source of this input is the output of another BAPI - thus a structure. The structure that is input is found in wdContext.node<NODENAME> contains 5 distinct entries. When I run the following code the abstract list created is 5 long but only contains the LAST element in the node I was "unloading".

You are not creating the object inside the loop. You are just changing the same object again and again. Because of object references its updating all previous entries. Simple to say you are adding same element 5 times.
Change the code this way...
