Repeat of Repeat delta?

Is it possible to take repeat of repeat delta.

Options 1:
Go through the steps to fix the abend,
1. Change the status of the request RED.
2. Execute the InfoPackage again
3. It will ask you whether to continue with new delta or the repeat-delta.
4. Select the REPEAT Delta option.
If the above steps doesn't work then, try the following steps
1. Delete the error request from data target
2. Set the status in monitor to green
3. Execute the Infopackage and Repeat the delta again

Option 2:
1.When can we have a Repeat delta,is it with BW or R/3 .
2. We normally do Delta repeat when a Delta request fails for some reason. This will bring the same data again into BW. This repeat delta Info(i.e. the records extracted for a particular delta) are stored in R3 until next successful delta request happens. This is used in repeating the delta request

How many times you can repeat a failed delta?

Hi, Expert, I am facing with an failed delta that loads data from a DSO to another. I have repeated the delta 4 times. The first two times, it failed with deadlock, the 3rd time, it failed with out of internal memory issue and now I am getting 6 system core dumped. Just wondering, if there is limit that one can repeat a failed delta? If anyone have any idea about what need to be done on system core dumps, it will be greatly appreciated.

Glad that I am able to answer my own questions.
1. Yes, you can repeat a delta multiple times without damaging the delta queue. (need to change QM status to red before delete the request and then repeat the delta by either running the infopackage manually or repeat the failed infopackage in a process chain)
2. The memory/deadlock/system core dump issues may be fixed by decreasing MAXLINE parameter in ROIDOCPRMS through SBIW. I don't know exactly what MAXLINE is used for but I have a guess that MAXLINE controls how often a data package commit to the database. My issue was that in the start routine of an update rule, for every record from the source, it generates 13 records so it increases the size of a data package 13 times and causes the various dumps. By decreasing MAXLINE only and even each data package still generates half million records, the data load didn't fail.

Repeat of Last Delta

Hi BW Gurus,
One of our scheduled loads through process chain failed (while loading from ODS to cube) as there was another load that was triggered from the ODS to cube at the same time, to populate a new cube from the ODS with a delta init.
Now if i repeat the failed process chain it is starting <b>repeat of last delta</b>, then the process tries to load >1000K records (from ODS) again into the cube. this should ideally only load 20K records (delta data).In ODS the last delta shows 25K records which is normal.
Please let me know how this can be reversed. Is there any way by which i can stop this repeat of last delta. and load normal delta ?

I tried to delete the wrong request from infocube & reloaded data. But the problem is that it is running the 'Repeat of last delta' once again. (this is loading duplicate records)
I have tried to change the total status to red and once again tried to load a data but this also result in same above problem.

Why does playlist on iPod keep repeating and repeating even though play count rule is 1

Hello, everyone!
I have a smart playlist of about 100 songs. The play count rule is set to play songs with a play count of less than 1. A few days ago, I reset all of the songs play count to 0. If you ask me, the way I have it set up, when the iPod is playing with my headphones on, the iPod should automatically update each songs play count to 1 after each song plays. After I have listened to all 100 songs, the playlist on the iPod should be empty. The reason is is because since each song was updated from their play count of 0 to 1 after each one played the play count rule in the playlist should show no songs in the playlist. Like I said before, the rule says to play any songs with a play count of less than 1. Since all of the play count of the 100 songs are now 1 and not less than 1, the playlist should be empty.
The problem is, when I'm listening to my iPod and the 100 songs have played, the playlist is not empty. It just keeps repeating songs and it will never stop. When I go to iTunes, the songs are randomly with play counts of 3 or 2 or 1 or however many times they have been repeated.
Does anyone know why this is?

The reason the songs don't delete themselves after playing from the playlist on the iPod is because your iPod is not smart enough to do that. It's only when you re-sync your iPod to your iTunes library does the smart playlist in your iTunes library delete the played songs. Then the playlist on your iPod will adjust to the number left unplayed in that playlist.
So as long as you don't sync back to your library the number of songs in that playlist will never reduce to zero.

Console reports 10sec process that repeats and repeats!

This started happening after I updated to iTunes 7.5 and Quicktime yesterday afternoon and I cannot figure it out! I didn't remove anything that would have caused this! Can anyone figure it out? Also as a result of this, my keyboard is getting screwy too. I have to type slowly or keys repeat!

I am just posting to say that I am seeing the same exact thing in my console, and my internet seems to be hit and miss because of it.
The same exact error messages in console, every 10 seconds...
Does anyone know what this could be?

There is not enough room on your iPod... ALERT - Repeats and Repeats and...

When I sync my iPod, I get the above message from five to 15 times. It does not match the number of songs it is copying. I could be syncing 5 songs and get the message 15 times. WHY does it repeat so much? Once is enough.
I AM low on iPod 80G hard drive space - that is not the issue.
It is set to automatically sync.

I am doing drag and drop, I have also tried right clicking the music file and clicking add to playlist. This is still a repeat error and I dont know what to do! I got the ipod yesterday and I am so gutted!

In iPod mode, repeat All repeat 1 option missing

as stated in subject line.
iPod mode no longer displays the option/ability during a song, to repeat All or repeat 1.
Any solutions?

Glad you figured it out but to answer your question, the multitasking bar is when you hit the home button 2 times. If you're running iOS 4 or higher you will see it. If not, it doesn't exist on your device. The button (as I mentioned before) would appear on the screen when you touch the screen once (as mentioned by Jim). There you can toggle Genius and repeat and shuffle.

After recognizing slowness and heat in my machine, I find
posix_spawnp("/Library/StartupItems/ProTec6b/Nalpeirond6b", ...): No such file or directory
in my system.log, but, looking in the library, well, the file isn't there. I deleted the Nalpeirond6b.plist thinking that might stop it, which it did not. What else can I do?
I'm running Leopard still, 10.5.8, having been putting off upgrading and/or a new purchase.

Repeat Delta mechanism for FI-CO & Generic extractor.

Can any one please let me know whether there is repeat delta is possible for FI/CO data sources if we miss any daily dela loads.

Hi,
Yes, it is possible to repeat the failed delta for FICO extractors. One thing you need to note is that you need to request the delta second time only then you will get records to BW. First time repeat will fetch 0 records.

Option in Infopack for Load of Repeat Delta

Hi , I would like to know what option is avilable to load repeat delta in Infopack.
When i run RSA7 , and select by Datasource , There is 28 records in the Repeted Delta Queue.

If a delta load from a datasource fails or is manually marked as 'RED' in the monitor, the next time you run the 'Delta' InfoPackage for that datasource, you will get a message asking you whether you want to repeat the previous delta request since it had failed. This mechanism is provided so that in case of errors during data loads, none of the records are missed out in a subsequent load.

Repeat delta data issue

I have a strange issue here. I load say ODS2 from ODS1. When trying to load ODS2 one day, i find and issue and the load is turned red. When i executed the delta IP again, it asked for the repeat of the delta, for which i said yes. I did not delete any datamart status from ODS1. This repeat got me double records than the original request, and now i have doubled records in ODS2. Since ODS2 is on addition, the doubling data issue. Does anyone had this problem? Why the repeat of delta updated double the number of records than what it shud be? will be great if anyone can come up with a clarification.

At First you need to Delete the Request from ODS2,
Question is which request should be deleted. answered below.
In ODS1 --> Note the Request where Repeat of delta has occured. Check the datamart Request of that Repeat Request. This datamark request clearly shows that At what request in ODS2 its updated.
Now your job step by step as below:-
1. Delete request in ODS2 (Please note :request which you had taken in the datamart of ODS1).
2. Delete the Datamart of the ODS1 at the Repeat delta request.
3. Delete Request of ODS1(till where you had removed the datamart for this ODS)
4. Go to reconstruction tab and reconstruct the request which are correct (eliminate failed request)
Please note:- please reconstruct one(1) request and then datamart. Once you do this you will come to know the logic behind.
5. Then Datamart to ODS2.
If its complicated to understand, please call call me

Delete Repeat of the last delta without messing up the daily delta load

By a mistake we have loaded data from PSA twice in our data targets.
It's a delta load, so my question is can we delete the data update 'Repeat of last delta' without destroying the daily delta load.

Thank you. I actually went for another solution.
I'm still not convienced that if I delete the request if wouldn't mess up our daily delta load (I'll try this on our sandbox). Instead I leave the request as you said in the DSO's and the made a selective deletion on the cube (with request SID as criteria).

1.is there any difeerence for repeat delta for Master data,transactional data and time stamps.
2.if there is option repeat delta in rsa7,cant we go with that option.

1. If any failures happens to the delta load then repeat of the delta can be done. It should be first done in BW side by forcing the request to red and deleting it from target. Tehn if you trigger the IP it will ask for a pop up which pulls in the failed delta records again. there is no difference in process between master and transactional repeat delta. SOme datasource doesnt not support repeat delta option if thats the case then you need to do init and then continue with delta's
2. Yes u can. But itz advisable to pull it from BW side.
