Repeat Play Button

Hi
I am creating DVD and all is great. I have a very simple menu with buttons, the play button works fine. But I need to have a repeat play button so the client is able to play the video continually, to be played at expo's etc.
I know it is really easy but I cant find a script that repeats the video, as well as play one time.
Any help would be appreciated.
PS not an editor but a cameraman so be gentle.

Hi Marcus:
You can solve the problem using Stories with no need to make any script. I'll give some directions and you additionally can read this Stories Tutorial (from www.kenstone.net).
You can creat Stories from your tracks, what means you can make like "dupplications" of your track o part of your track/s without really duplicating the disc space. That means that a story refers to your original track and let you play the same content in a different way/lenght. If you add markers to your track, you can create like "independent chapters" from each marker and pley them like independent tracks individually or a different order or whatever you want. You can create a Story with your full track using just the Start marker and use this story like a "copy" of your track i.e. to create a loop playback with it just setting the end Jump of the Story to itself.
- Choose Extended View arrange (F2) the we'll see the same layout
- Select your movie track
- In the tool bar pick on Add Story
- In the Graphical view double click in the Story
- You'll see in the low part of your screen the Story panel with 2 sections: Track Markers in the left and Story Markers in the roght.
- Pick (select) the start marker in the Track Markers panel and drag & drop it in the Story Markers panel. If your Track have more chapter markers, you must do the same with all of them to get the full track playback !
- You must have all your track markers copied in the Story Markers panel (that's because you want the full track playback)
- Now in the Inspector Window set the End Jump ti pint to the Story itself. This way you'll get loop playback.
- Go to your Graphical View again and click in any empty gray space to get your disc properties in the Inspector.
- In the remote control section check you hace set the Menu option to your main menu. To break the loop user must press menu in the remote control and go back to the main menu.
You can add the Loop button to your menu pointing it to the new Story.
Hope you understand the explanation . . . no matter you are a cameraman !! ;D
And wellcome to the forum !

  • My iPod is showing a white screen. I could not see anything. But I can listen to songs by blindly pressing the play button twice. The battery comes only for an hour.? How do I get the display and longer battery?

    Hello Friends,
    I've two iPod Nanos (4th gen - 8GB). I'm facing a severe problem with both of them. For both iPods, I tried to do this method Simultaneously press the top button + home (central) button. But of no use.
    1. My first iPod is showing a white screen. I could not see anything. But I can listen to songs by blindly pressing the play button twice. The battery comes only for an hour.? How do I get the display and longer battery?
    2. My second iPod is facing more severe problem. None of the buttons are working. When I connect it my PC it showing "CONNECTED- eject before disconnecting". But it is not ejecting with all the usual methods. When I manually and physically disconnect it from the PC the same "CONNECTED- eject before disconnecting" is still showing till the battery goes off. After that if i press any button it is showing low battery signal. And when i re-connect it to the PC the same process is repeating. When I tied to restore it to the factory settings I'm getting "Error" report.
    (I'm using windows 7)
    Friends, Please help me with the above problems. It will be a great help.
    Thank You.

    Sounds like some hardware issues, meaning you'll want to take or send the iPods in for service or repairs. You can choose to have Apple do an out of warranty exchange for the prices indicated in the link below or find another third party service perhaps even local to your area.

  • I was playing Angry Birds and had to hit the pause button to listen to something.  When I hit the pause/play button again to resume, I heard talking that sounded like a talk-radio program and I couldn't turn it off, even when I turned off my iPad.

    Does anyone know what would cause me to start hearing a talk program of some type after hitting the play button after it had been on pause.  Hitting the pause button shuts off the talking, but hitting the play button starts it up again.  The strange thing is that the talking continues even after I turn off my iPad. The talk program was about silly or trendy news items, not regular news.  It sounds like it could be a talk-radio program, but there were no call letters or information on where it was coming from or who was talking.  The person doing all the talking is a male and sounds like he could be in his 20's.  The only way I could turn it off was to hit the pause button and then turn off my iPad. I just got my iPad last week and had not had any problems with it until this happened.  At the time this happened I was playing a version of Angry Birds that kept being interrupted by t-mobile commercials from time to time, which I had never experienced before. either.

    Well, shut my mouth!  There was a similar question over to the right about a 6th generation nano repeating over and over again -- I read the answer to that one, followed the instructions, and holy crap, it's back to normal.
    Is there a name for this when you end up replying to your own aggravating question?  That's what I did.  Now I can go out and listen.  It's only 91 degrees.  Heaven. Thanks, Apple.

  • Free Yourself from the Play Button!

    Hi all!
    One of the annoying things I've found with Breeze is having
    to repeatedly click the "play" button as I advance through a large
    presentation. After a while, your mouse pointer can easily drift
    off that little button. Here's a quick workaround which allows you
    to click anywhere in your presentation and get the same effect:
    Make a blank Flash module and add this code to frame one:
    _root.m_contentView.onRelease = function () {
    _root.m_controlBar.m_playBtn.onRelease();
    ...that's it! Now, just stick the *.swf module on the first
    slide of your PPT presentation, and compile it to Breeze. Click
    anywhere on the "stage" to get the same effect as clicking the play
    button (your control bar and side bar will work as usual). There is
    a downside to this, though: it overrides any interactive items
    (buttons, Flash modules, quiz questions, etc.) you may already have
    in your presentation.
    Cheers!
    ~Marc B

    Only if the last button the user clicked on WAS the
    play/pause button. Many of our users, familiar with the PPT
    interface, have indicated that they would like the ability to click
    anywhere to advance. They'd also like to right-click to move
    backward one animation (also like PPT), but that requires a bit
    more coding.
    You have fun, too!

  • Remove the darn shuffle play button!

    Hi, I tried out your new design, which I have mixed feelings about, but nevermind that. The most annoying thing I come over in the new Spotify (for iPhone by the way) is the dumb, big, overlapping, unnecessary shuffle play button that pops up everywhere. Is this a bug or is this on purpose? Could at least had add an option for it. Also, it doesn't look streamlined at all with the current design. Did it even occur that not everyone wants a shuffle play button?

    Dear Spotify,
    This is coming from a devoted and loyal user of yours that happens to be yours truly. A music lover, fascinated by a beautiful lush melody from a Manic Street Preachers tune and saddened by listening to the blue beauty of Anthony & the Johnsons. And thanks to the beautiful gift of the streaming service you have provided for us my music life has not been the same. I have had the pleasure of listening to almost everything my momentary thoughts demand effortlessly, legally and by paying a very low price. So my sincerity towards your contribution to my music world is simply insatiable.
    Having followed music in forms of CDs, tapes, MP3s and occasionally LPs and EPs for years, I have grown this inevitable sense of discipline in the way I organize and listen to my music. And your program has a high emphasize on that. Everything is well-labeled. It's a joy listening to Spotify at any time for any occasion. I appreciate pop music as much as everyone else. But I also appreciate what is not pop. And how comprehensively good you are at that side of the story, too.
    I have begun a new phase in life in which I wouldn't like to scrutinize things and go deep into original intentions of doing things. So I normally take things as they appear to be. It’s much more convenient this way. But somehow I’d rather not start this routine when it comes to music. I know you value music more than anything else. And I know there are now thousands of people out there who reach for your service at every second. I don’t want you to change that. But as a small part of your strong community, I would like to share my slight disappointment with a button you have emphasized on in your new mobile interface. That being said, your new desktop interface is sexy, elegant and very modern. I have Spotify on my PC, iMac and iPhone.
    So this is what happened: With my last update of my iPhone app, there has appeared an annoying presence of a giant green button called “Shuffle Play” on each and every page containing songs I would like to play. And I cannot stand its presence. Yes I do like to shuffle my playlists sometimes. And I’m sure there was a firm reason deducted by you to put this button up there. But this emphasize to me is very degrading to music in the form of albums. There are more people out there like me who spend hours curating playlists and then putting them into the right order. Many people like me would like to listen to albums “as they are”, that is, as the original artist intended. If Arcade Fire wanted us to shuffle their albums, they would not number their songs on their Funeral album. And in the shuffle vs. not shuffle argument, I have always opted for the latter. And I assure you I’m not alone in this. Shuffling is a part of the work. So let’s just put it there as a mere option just like repeat, etc.
    Spotify is supposed to be a music player for everyone! It’s for that girl in Philippines who would like to listen to K-Pop while dry-cleaning and it is also for me who passes by your office in Birger Jarlsgatan in Stockholm thinking how cool would it be to visit the office. I clarify this a bit further with an example:
    Last week, my boss asked a colleague of mine “So what kind of artists do you listen to?”. And the reply was more than disappointing: “My favorite artists are usually the ones on Spotify top list!” That for me equals “I don’t even like music”. Music for her is a filler. And to me, music is not a filler. Music completely stands out for itself. But my message here is that both of us should get what they want from you. And we do! It’s just that, I have a feeling you are valuing her approach to listening to music more than I do. And that shuffle button strengthens this idea that mainstream pop, chart toppers and everything that is being played from a small pub in Dublin to a luxurious disco in Berlin is more important for you and so are these kinds of listeners. But that is contradictive to what you really are. That is contradictive to the fact that people find a rarity album from a forgotten garage rock band that they had never heard of and discover their music through you. So what does this big shuffle button imply? Shuffle everything? Forget about the tracklisting and the artist and shuffle it all regardless.
    Can someone please set me free from this disturbing thoughts in my head and clarify the existence of such button? I take you with me everywhere I go. I encourage everyone to be active and share their favorite music. And then I get this feeling that I’m not a favorite user of yours, that you’d rather go with the girl who chooses the top list over discovering good music and literally puts zero effect into her music streaming experience.
    I want you to acknowledge the presence of people like me in your community. I’m not expecting much of you. But I am worth your attention. I have tried almost every other streaming service out there and you outrun them with by a great distance. So I’d rather stick with you and drag all my music friends with me. Thank you!

  • Trying to create Large Play button on Flash CS4

    Hello,
    I am trying to create the following: (using someone elses post from another board)
    "I am wondering if there is a way to hide the FLVPlayback skin until a certain event happens. Let me explain.
    I have an instance of the flvplayback component in my movie. I have the player skin set to "autohide" and "autoplay" set to false. Instead of having users click on the play button of the skin to start the movie I have incorporated a larger play button in the middle of the screen. The set back here is that when a user mouses over the movie to click on the larger play button the flvplayback skin appears as well.
    I'd like to basically tell the skin "Hey don't appear on mouseover until AFTER the large play button is pressed." What code would I need for this in Actionscript 3?"
    I am curious if someone can teach how to embed a regular .swf movie file into the
    "example" code, which was also posted here
    (http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=323702)
    I have very limited coding skills and very much appreciate the assistance.
    Rod

    You are looking for the visible property I believe.
    At the beginning of your code, set:
    myFLVPlayer._visible = false;
    to set it invisible (replacing "myFLVPlayer" with your components name ocourse)
    Then, onRelease of your button, set:
    myFLVPlayer._visible = true;
    to make it visible again.
    EDIT
    I just looked at your code in the other forum, and here is your onRelease function fixed:
    video_mc.video._visible = false;
    video_mc.bigButton_mc.onRelease = function(){
    video_mc.bigButton_mc._visible = false;
    video_mc.video._visible = true;
    video_mc.video.play();

  • Flash movies with play button don't work

    I have the 'simple' problem that everytime I see a "play" button on a web page with flash content, clicking on it won't start the movie.  However, e.g. YouTube movies work fine. So it seems it's just movies that do not start automatically after clicking on a link.
    Also, checking the flash player e.g. at the Adobe site (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html), tells me in a flash box I have the latest flash player installed, and I see the  flash movie 'flash player is running on your system' with the red ball rolling in it.
    I have the same problem for both google Chrome and for IE.
    I still have an old Dell Inspiron 6000 notebook with Win XP (latest updates) and ATI mobility Radeon X300 graphics chip, for which I also installed the latest available drivers.
    Experimenting with Flash Player settings was unsuccessful so far (e.g. no hardware acceleration, clearing all internet data in the Flash Player global settings tool).
    My desktop (also with Win XP and with the same browsers and Flash Players/Flash Plugins installed works fine...).
    I also know that it worked at an earlier time with this NB...
    I managed to run the movie with a Linux Live CD but that is not what I want to do every time...
    Any idea is highly appreciated.....

    Hi BalusC, i have saved the datamodel (a ArrayList) in SessionBean. It can't be null. The rows of table display correct. I don't understand, why functions buttons with ObjectArrayDataProvider, but not with ObjectListDataProvider?
    I found a page with same problem: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=549675&tstart=30

  • How to set target to Play button on begining DVD

    Man you dont use this program for a few months and you gotta take a course on it all over again.
    Ive completely forgotten how to set the PLAY button to activate at the beginning of the DVD. As in I was burning several DVDs and I tested them on my computer, and they worked fine. But the whole time I was using my mouse to navigate (I only put in one button "PLAY"). When at one point I happened to use the DVD navigator I realized I hadnt set it for a stand alone. So while if you watched it on a computer and were using your mouse you could hit the play button. But on a stand alone you cant get to it with a remote.
    I remember it being a simply thing, but for the life of me I cant figure it out. HELP!

    So are you talking about moving between the buttons on a menu screen (i.e. navigation in the menu) or are you saying you can't get the button to activate any video? Or both?
    The first issue is sorted out with the 'Settings' drop down box and choosing 'assign buttons now' or 'auto assign buttons' (but this slows down the menu creation and gets really frustrating at times). You should then be able to get to the menu (which will have the first button highlighted and ready by default) and then use the handset to move from button to button.
    The second bit is setting the target for the button - where it goes to once you select and activate it. Open up your menu in DVDSP and click on the buttons in turn. Look in the property inspector for the 'target' and make sure that each button is going where you intend.
    Alternatively, use the connections tab - this is far faster, IMO, but is slightly more abstract in concept...
    If you have done these things and you still cannot get to the button using the remote control then there is something else wrong - it could be that you simply forgot to create a button but have the text there ready... without the button rectangle being drawn out over the text (or next to it) there will be no button and no way to activate anything.

  • How can I prevent Aperture from playing slideshow when hitting the play button on the keyboard?

    I am getting a bit frustrated by the fact that the play button on the keyboard, which I use all the time for controlling audio playback in iTunes and now Spotify, is assigned to starting the slideshow in Aperture. Playing a slideshow is something I never use, and is something that causes the beachball of death to appear every time. It does not make sense to me that the slideshow overrules the audio playback in iTunes. Help is much appreciated...

    In Aperture the keyboard shortcuts are defined in the Command Editor.
    To open the Command Editor,  go to the Aperture menu -> Commands -> Customize
    and in the search field enter "slideshow". Remove or replace the key binding you find there, if it is the one you want to use in iTunes.

    I have noticed an issue with utilizing the “stream” function on iOS 7. If you choose to just stream the movie by hitting the play button it seems to actually start downloading (which is fine) but if you are say halfway thru the movie and stop you can clearly see that storage has been reduced under the usage, yet under the “videos” tab it still states “No Data” the only way to delete what you have partially downloaded is to fully download the video, which is fine but there is no way to tell what videos have been partially downloaded (I.e which occurs a lot when your child switches between movies using the so called “stream” function). This becomes troublesome once the capacity of the ipad is almost met and you have no way to delete this data since you may have several videos that have started to be viewed (hence partially downloaded). Apple needs to somehow make it truly streaming or provide an update so the storage can be managed. The only way I have been able to remove partially downloaded videos is by doing a total software restore. (The video data that is in question when connected to my MacBook shows up in iTunes as “other”) if you have any insight into this issue it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Here are the screenshots for what it's worth.
    Not sure why I can't post them in the original post.<br>

    IMO opendns is either doing this on purpose (unlikely) or they're under some sort of attack/being used to attack the specific torrent sites although I'm open to other explanations. I believe using the automatic setting for DNS is using my own ISP's DNS servers (which again, work fine... but still...)
    I'd rather not use Google's public DNS servers as Google is to commercial these days and I think there's potential privacy issues.
    '''Again I have changed the setting for DNS servers back and forth several times to duplicate/verify the issue(s)... and the issues only happen with the opendns servers.'''

  • Music won't play - play button flashes  ipod touch 3rd gen

    Strange thing:
    Yesterday, all was fine--music played normally. Today, when I try to play music, the play button (the arrow), just flashes a pause button and goes right back to the play button. No music can be played. It's as if the PLAY button is stuck (?)
    Sound from other apps work fine.
    Nothing new was downloaded, no apps, no syncs, nothing. Running v. 3.1.3
    I have tried toggling various settings, searching the internet for similar issues, but to no avail.
    I cannot upgrade versions or restore settings at the moment but I am not convinced that will solve the issue. Why? Because a few months ago, my boyfriend has the same issue! One day it worked and the next day, nothing.
    At some point after we figured it is "broken", it began to work again! We have no idea how it magically restarted working. Unfortunately, mine has not magically restarted, so I hope someone in the forums can help. Please post if you have had a similar issue. I need this for my work!!

    Basics from the manual are.
    Restart.
    Reset.
    Restore.
    Have you tried any of these?

    iPod nano 3rd gen. Apple logo remains on screen and iTunes doesn't recognise it's plugged in, I can't even turn it off. I've tried to get to disc menu but when I hold the 'menu and select button' it reboots and then doesn't recognise the select and play button to show the tick. I'm helpless.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Greetings Heather,
    After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with the Podcasts app. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
    Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
    You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
    To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
