Repeat Sending of SMS Messages

I have an 8700 Edge which seems to be sending the same SMS message repeatedly automatically. How do I stop this?

Yes that's right. But it isn't a printable invoice, it's only a list of my purchases. I need an invoice for the taxman.

  • N96 repeatedly sending the same message

    My N96 clearly has a serious issue, well its serious to me given the huge amount of money it is costing me to send a text message right now. When I send  a message, it continues to keep sending it over and over and over and over again, every few minutes, despite the recipient getting the first message and replying.
    I've taken the battery out and left it out for a day, put it back and it does it all over again.
    Can anyone offer a solution to this insane problem?
    thanks in advance

    Its neither in the Outbox or the Sent box. Turning the phone off stops the sending, turning it back on restarts the sending.
    I've tried a *#7370# reset but do not know yet if the problem persists. I am kind of reluctant to put my contract SIM back in as it was repeatedly sending the SMS to an international number (every 3 minutes precisely according to my provider billing account) and its cost a lot of money so far. But when I replaced that SIM with another PAYG SIM the sending did not continue even before the reset. So, its doubly confusing.
    What are the codes for the various resets?
    Many thanks for your reply, hope you had a great christmas so far

  • Nokia 5310 Is it possible to send a sms message fr...

    Hi Guys
    I am using a Nokia 5310 and was wondering if it was possible to send a sms message from my phone to my computer via Bluetooth? I can't seem to find an option to do this and don't know whether I am missing it or if it's just not possible.
    Any help or advice would be great.
    Thanks Claire xxx

    You can't send an SMS. However, if the phone (I don't know the 5310) has a note-taking application where you can create text notes/memos, the application might have an option to send the note/memo over Bluetooth. You might also be able to find some Java application to send text messages (still not SMS, technically) over Bluetooth, if the phone doesn't have such a feature built-in.

  • Delayed sending of SMS message not working

    My Curve has an option to delay the sending of SMS messages found by clicking the menu key in a new SMS message and "OPTIONS" it has an option for "delivery period" with choices of "immediate, 15 mins, 30 mins, and so on" but when I select a delay, it sends the message as soon as I hit send? Does anyone know how to work this feature? I can't find anything about it in the manual.....
    Thanks
    Cas

    That's unfortunate. However, without more information, there's probably not going to be much anyone here can suggest. Try contacting your carrier and making sure your account is properly provisioned.

    I'm unaware of this type of option. Unfortunately you are going to have to keep doing it manually.

  • I am currently abroad in France, and I can not send any SMS messages.

    I am currently abroad in France, and I can not send any SMS messages. iMessages works fine. I have checked the setting, and message sending to SMS is activated. I have also reset my phone. Could you advise on why I can not do this please?

    Hi
    It could be a case that the network you are connected to is having problems.
    If you go to Settings > Carrier > Turn off Automatic > This will prompt the device to do a manual search. Once completed chose a different network and test.
    Also is it a particular number it's failing to or have you tried a few?
    Let me know how you get on.
    Thanks.

    Yes I have turned imessage off a number of times and that does not seem to he doing the trick, and it is not delivering them then I have to press on the photo and either chose try again or send as text message, I have had the setting on to not allow sending pictures as texts (so they can only send as imessage) since I got my phone in January and it has always worked until now, I have turned that off to allow me to send them as picture messages now but it's still not working over iMessage, I have also tried it using 3G and not wifi

    Both of those are carrier features, contact your cell phone provider and ask them why.

  • Problem sending a SMS message from mobile phone t809

    Hello!
    I am trying to send a SMS message from my cell phone. This is Samsung t809 phone with CLDC 1.1 and MIDP 2.0
    The code that I am using is next:
    MessageConnection smsconn = null;
    try
    smsconn = ( MessageConnection )Connector.open( "sms://:50000" );
    TextMessage txtMsg = ( TextMessage )smsconn.newMessage( MessageConnection.TEXT_MESSAGE );
    txtMsg.setAddress( "sms://18885552233" );
    txtMsg.setPayloadText( "Hello SMS!" );
    smsconn.send( txtMsg );
    catch( Exception e )
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println( e.getMessage() );
    form_main.append( "\nError occured!" );
    if( smsconn != null )
    try
    smsconn.close();
    catch( IOException e )
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println( e.getMessage() );
    Seems like on cell phone I have an exception because I can see the line "Error occured!"
    I have no idea why... :(
    Will appreciate any help and comments.
    Thank you!
    P.S. Oh yes... the phone 18885552233 is not real, I just used my friend cell phone to test. Does not work... :(

    hello,
    when you use smsconn = ( MessageConnection )Connector.open( "sms://:50000" ); it means that you are trying to connect to a sms server. So if you don't have a sms server on your computer, an exception is thrown !
    if you just wanna test sms sending, put the phone number in the string like this
    smsconn = ( MessageConnection )Connector.open( "sms://123456789" );<b>reference</b>:

  • How can I send an SMS message to a group?

    I cannot seem to figure out how to add a second recipient to the SMS message. I routinely beep out messages to the 5 people I work with, I'd hate to send it out to each separately.

    At this time, multiple recipient SMS messaging is not supported on the iPhone.

  • How do I send an SMS message to someone with an Apple ID who uses an Android phone?

    My colleague has an iPad and MBP registered using their AppleID.  But they use an Android Phone.  I'm trying to send an SMS to them using Messages on my iPhone (iOS8).  The message gets sent to their iPad but not their phone.

  • Cant send out sms message

    HI i was wondering if someone could help me i just bought a blackberry pearl8230 this week and i can recieve and send out phone calls,, i can recieve sms message but i cant send out a sms message it keeps giving me sms message error code 3,  If somone can hlep me that b great i talked to a technician from my service provider today we did the battery take out reset the phone and all that and then he tells me he has to send it to support and could be another 3-5 days ,, HELP ME PLXZ

    Hi badone45 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Did you buy the BlackBerry as brand new, or was it previously used by someone else?
    If it was previously used, it is possible there is in an IT Policy on the device preventing SMS to be sent.
    You can check to see if there is an IT Policy on it by going to Options -> Security Options -> General Settings
    If you happen to see an IT Policy and there is something listed, you will need to do a factory reset on the device.
    You can download the BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac or Windows from http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/ as you will need to back up your device first as all data will be wiped out when the reset is done.
    To do the factory reset, consult KB18998 at http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB18998
    Thank you and have a great day!

  • Not able to send an SMS message to a specific person because it says theres a v/m???

    I reviewed all the posts and couldn't find information on this for a specific contact.
    I can SMS message everyone in my contact list except for 1 person. Everytime I bring his name up it says there is a voicemail and doi want to call voice mail. It never gives me any other option.
    Remember, this is specific to 1 contact.
    1. I went into the options and set it to none under call logging. No change!
    2. I went into voice mail options on Verizon and set it to no texting when voice mail. No change!
    3. I even went so far as to delete the contact, created a new contact with his info in it. It still came up with that voice mail text and doesnt allow me to do anything but call him or call voicemail.
    Kind of at a loss here.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Again...I did look but there wasn't a thread specific to 1 individual contact!!!

    Nevermind...I actually dug deeper and found the same thread. I tried to delete this one but couldn't find a way to do it.

  • When I send an SMS message from my Text Message Forwarding enabled Macbook to an Android, it breaks the message up into several out of order chunks. Is there a solution to this?

    I have a 2012 Macbook Air and an iPhone 5, both with up-to-date software. When I set up Text Message Forwarding, everything went according to plan, until I sent a relatively wordy text to a friend (from my Macbook) to a friend on an Android phone. It chopped the text up into several 2 line fragments, and delivered them in seemingly random order. The fragments were specifically 2 lines, and not 160 characters, which is the "limit" you used to get on old SMS messages. It continues to happen.

    Are you using any emoji, or accented characters? If so, try not to. Also, I recall something about a double space at the very end of the text. Unfortunately, I don't remember if you should use them or avoid them.. Beyond that, there's not much you can do. How the text is delivered is under control of the carrier.
