Repeatative answers expecting points!

All,
I would like to continue the discussion that Ruchit and Juan started in the thread How can we verify transport request before do the transported. in a more formal way so that all the members are aware of whats going on.
As Ruchit and Juan said, in the near past it is seen that some members in this community keep on giving the same answers (that has already been answered in the same thread itself) expecting points. This is realy useless and uncalled for and frustrating at times.
I think one major reason for this is to get the points and the T-shirt, but incase you guys are not aware, T-shirts wont be awarded from now on. Instead the money spent on shipping the shirts will be used to feed school children in third world countries. Read this blog from Mark : /people/mark.finnern/blog/2007/11/28/food-for-points
This i believe is an EXCELLENT move and offcourse would mean that those who post only with the sole motive of getting the T-Shirt will take a backseat and would bring the true contributors to the forefront.
I believe that all the members in the community are matured enough to know that the primary motive of this community is to exchange knowledge amongst us so that all of us can grow technically and the awarding of points is just a way to express your thanks. Mastering Basis is all about learning from others about things you dont know and teaching others all that you do know.
So, lets make sure we use this community in the right spirit so that all of us can be benifited!
Feel free to express your thoughts and opinions on this in this thread.
Cheers!
Bidwan

    How would this sequence have been done? Would it have been green screen for some of the shots?Video link - http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kRpZJ9EgJho How would you achieve from 1:37 to 1:55. Many thanks to any thoughtful answers. I dont want vague answers or pointing out flaws like the last time i asked about a video effect
    thanks  a lot ☺

    I'm sorry that you had a bad experience on the forums before. It's not fun to be reamed when you're just looking for help.
    It seems like either greens screen or just masking and repeating the layers would work. Of course, this kind of stuff doesn't come easy, so plan your shots carefully and use straight edges in your shots to set up easy masking options. It's possible that you could freeze something like one of the cakes at a point in the video where it is largest in the screen, cut it out in Photoshop, and then place it in a grid pattern back in AE.
    It also might help to know exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

  • Extrapolating data to plot where expected points would be on a graph

    Hi,
    For a physics excel project I need to reproduce a graph identically that was given to me. I am trying to do all of it on numbers instead of buying excel, and I was able to figure out everything, except for this box on the graph.
    It is a dotted line with a x and y component that shows were a point would be plotted that had a lower x value then the lowest x real value.
    The text given to us that is pointing towards the dotted line box is as follows:
    "By extrapolation of the data, the period of a 0.15 kg oscillator is expected to be approximately 0.55 seconds."
    If anyone has any clue how to get this on numbers, it would be appreciated.
    If you dont understand what im describing, you can post your email and I will send the picture your way, because its difficult to describe
    Thanks in advance

  • SDO_RELATE does not return expected points

    Hi,
    I have a problem with a query which does not return the results I am expecting. I think it may be to do with geodetic data v projected data but fail to see how.
    the table points2 contains point data stored in Lat Long (SRID 8307)
    Here is my query:
    SELECT mdsys.sdo_cs.transform(points2.assetextent,26943) FROM points2
    WHERE SDO_RELATE (points2.ASSETEXTENT, MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2003,26943 ,NULL, mdsys.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1003,3), mdsys.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(1831679.1743184,644380.053168771,1831699.1743184,645000.053168677)),'mask=anyinteract') = 'TRUE';
    This query returns 0 results. if perform the same query with SDO_FILTER rather than SDO_RELATE then I get 1 result (which is what I expect). the result is this:
    MDSYS.SDO_CS.TRANSFORM(POINTS2.ASSETEXTENT,26943)(SDO_GTYPE, SDO_SRID, SDO_POINT(X, Y, Z), SDO_ELEM_INFO, SDO_ORDINATES)
    SDO_GEOMETRY(3001, 26943, NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1, 1), SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(1831689.17, 644440.053, 0))
    1 row selected.
    As can clearly be seen from this result the point is 10m from the both vertical edges of the optimised rectangle and at least 60m from the horizontal edges.
    The sdo_geom_metadata_table entry for this table is:
    SDO_OWNER SDO_TABLE_NAME
    SDO_COLUMN_NAME
    SDO_DIMINFO(SDO_DIMNAME, SDO_LB, SDO_UB, SDO_TOLERANCE)
    SDO_SRID
    VST POINTS2
    ASSETEXTENT
    SDO_DIM_ARRAY(SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('X', -180, 180, .005), SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Y', -90, 90, .005), SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Z', -999, 5000, .005))
    8307
    Anyone got any pointers? If you need more info just let me know
    Sam

    hi,
    can you try this query and let us know what you get ?
    Transform the geometry to 8307 and pass it into the sdo_relate
    operator.
    SELECT mdsys.sdo_cs.transform(points2.assetextent,26943) FROM points2
    WHERE SDO_RELATE (points2.ASSETEXTENT,
    sdo_cs.transform(MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2003,26943 ,NULL, mdsys.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1003,3), mdsys.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(1831679.1743184,644380.053168771,
    1831699.1743184,645000.053168677)), 8307), 'mask=anyinteract') = 'TRUE';

  • How to report answers without points?

    Is it possible to report answers without adding points to a quiz? I am using Captivate 6. We have set up custom multiple choice questions rather than using the quiz templates. If I check the Include in Quiz option, and deselect Add to Total, I cannot enter 0 points. If I deselect Include in Quiz, I do not have the option to report the answers.

    Hi Lilybiri,
    Thanks for the quick response. We are attaching variables (Interactive IDs) to custom buttons. The reporting of the ID is not a problem in our LMS (we are using Inquisiq R3). The issue is that I cannot assign 0 points to it using the standard reporting fields in the Properties for the button. Maybe we need to use an Advanced Action to do this...it just seems strange that Captivate will not allow a 0 value.
    What do you think?
    Thanks....

  • Answers Decimal Points

    When I'm in answers it is by default rounding all of my dollar amount columns to one decimal point.
    Ex: Amount = $17.55 (on the database) is rounding to $17.6 in my Answers result.
    I know that I have the ability to edit the format in Answers to override the result (specify two decimal points). However, i would like to set it up so that it is by default always producing two decimal points.
    Where would I set this up?
    Thanks...

    hi ,
    we can set the in administator tool or answers also
    administrator tool
    click the column properties
    use the round function in expression Biulder.
    apply the round function wit 2
    and go to presentation services
    and change data formates what we required

  • If anyone's looking for answered question points, here's your chance.

    I'm really sorry about this guys. This must be too easy to document. How do I add a stinking clip to the DVDSP4 Menu. All I want to do is play one clip on a DVD.
    I'm using a templet and I drag my FCP DV exported movie into the background of the Menu templet. The options come up to create button and add track. I've got that part down. I can see the asset in the timeline.
    Why is the Status light yellow? Also, when I go to the Graphical tab it doesn't have the two icons, one for the menu and the other for the movie?
    Honestly, I've read the manual for importing assets and I understand that part.
    What the heck am I missing?
    Also, does anyone know why my Encoder settings is grayed out?
    Sorry to bother you with this,
    Pete

    I gave you the points... I really spent time going through that manual. I also spent time searching past questions and going to the DVDSP help website. It was just such a basic thing. I don't know why the manual isn't somehow more forthcoming.
    What I did with FCP is I bought a couple... well about 4 books on it. I spent forever on that. I have a deadline coming up for this film and I just needed to get a 16:9 clip on a DVD. That shouldn't be very hard. I can do it in iDVD but I read that you can't do widescreen without iDVD HD.
    The manual really should have that better put together. The FCP manual is much more methodical then that. I'll get some books on DVD SP. I know it ****** you off, but it's the only way I can get into the business. I spent a crapload to Apple already on the dual 2 Ghz G5 and all the other stuff you need.

  • "pointer to incomplete struct" Error

    I keep geeting the error "Type error in argument 1 to `DLLStruct'; found 'pointer to struct parameters' expected 'pointer to incomplete struct parameters "
    I'm trying to pass a pointer to a struct as an argument to a function in a DLL.  This is just some test code to see if it works but all it does is pass the struct pointer to DLLStruct() and it is supposed to update a,b,c to the values of 1,2,3).  Here is my code:
    void __stdcall DLLStruct (struct parameters *tester_params);
    struct parameters
     int a;
     int b;
     int c;
    }tester_params;
    int main (int argc, char *argv[])
    char resultstr[256];
    struct parameters *structPtr;
     structPtr = &tester_params;
     structPtr->a = 0;
     structPtr->b = 0;
     structPtr->c = 0;
     DLLStruct(structPtr);
     sprintf(resultstr,"a = %i",structPtr->a);
     MessagePopup ("Test...", resultstr);
     sprintf(resultstr,"b = %i",structPtr->b);
     MessagePopup ("Test...", resultstr);
     sprintf(resultstr,"c = %i",structPtr->c);
     MessagePopup ("Test...", resultstr);
     return 0;
    Here is the DLL function:
     void __stdcall DLLStruct (struct parameters *tester_params)
     tester_params->a = 1;
     tester_params->b = 2;
     tester_params->c = 3;
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    If the code is written as it is reported in your post, this error depends on the fact that when defining your DLLStruct function the structure is not yet defined. After function declaration, you define the struct and use it when calling DLLStruct: in that moment you are passing a completely defined structure to a function that was expecting an incomplete struct (i.e. the structure not yet defined).
    Moving structure definition before function definition should eliminate the error.

  • Repeating builds in Keynote 3

    Is there a way to repeat builds in Keynote? I would like to create a build for a graphic that repeats/emphasizes a point. For example, using the Scale Big build on an arrow shape to create a virual "blinking" effec. I'd rather not do a bunch of graphics with in and out builds over and over again. Specifically because I want the graphic to remain animated until I move on to the next slide. Any help out there?

    Try using iMovie or Quicktime + Photoshop to custom make your own blinking arrow "movie". Then just insert the quicktime movie file rather than a jpeg and use the continous loop setting.
    Not elegant, and certainly a lot more work, but I don't know how else to do it.

  • Cell repeats on every page but is overlapping other elements

    Hi all,
    in my report I have a free cell which schould appear on every page. I selected in cell-properties 'Repeat on every page' and cell repeats as expected.
    Problem is that a table in the report starts on second page and onwards not before the bottom of the cell.
    Positions of the report elements shouldn't be changed.
    Thanks for your help,
    Regards Sören

    Hi Soren try Bellow
    Create a Webi document using
    Add a blank cell and put it on the top of the table.
    Name the cell as Cell1.
    Right click the table and select Format Table.
    In Layout tab, set vertical relative position to 0 cm from the Bottom edge of cell1.
    Repeat cell1 on each page and keep it blank.

  • Converting multiple points to line

    Hi All
    I have table consist of point data.. how to convert multiple points to line data.. if anyknows pls tell me ..
    Thak you

    user13340372,
    . . . .Are you trying to draw a line between 2 points or draw a line connecting N points?
    How to Create a Line From 2 Points_
    . . . .You could use the SDO_Geometry constructor. For example, if you have a table POINTS defined as (ID NUMBER, FromPt SDO_GEOMETRY, ToPt SDO_GEOMETRY), then you could:
    SELECT
        SDO_GEOMETRY(
        'LINESTRING ('||
        -- concatenate coordinates from FromPt
        REPLACE(REPLACE(p.FromPt.Get_WKT(), 'POINT (', NULL), ')', NULL)||','||
        -- concatenate coordinates from ToPt
        REPLACE(REPLACE(p.ToPt.Get_WKT(), 'POINT (', NULL), ')', NULL)||')'
        ---  SRID
        , 4326)
    FROM
        POINTS p;
    How to Create a Line From N Points_
    . . . .In a "connect-the-dots" puzzle, you draw lines from one numbered point to the next numbered point. There, the numbers define how points are related. If you dont have that information, then you need to decide how you want your points connected. Here are a few options - your requirements should indicate which (if any) is suitable:
    . . . .(a) Draw Arbitrary Linestring Through Points: user10278189 already posted that PL/SQL solution (above).
    . . . .(b) Connect Nearest Neigbors: set CURRENT_POINT to a point (e.g., bottom-left). Then identify its nearest-neighbor (hereinafter, "NextPoint") using SDO_NN. Flag NextPoint as "visited" and set CURRENT_POINT to NextPoint. Repeat until all points in the point-set are flagged as "visited." The result ( which depends on the starting point ) is a linestring connecting all points (a "line" is only between 2 points; a linestring is between 2 or more points). This requires PL/SQL.
    . . . .(c) Draw Along Shortest Distances: Create a table containing: FromPt_ID, toPt_ID and distances between each pair of points. (If you do this via a cross product, remove rows where FromPt_ID = ToPt_ID.) Begin connecting the points with the minimum distance from the last "visited" point (as before, flag the points that have been used as "visited"). The result of this operation is the shortest linestring connecting your point-set. This requires PL/SQL.
    . . . .(d) Outline Set of Points: You could also use the SDO_GEOM.Sdo_ConvexHull function to create polygon that encloses your point set, and then use SDO_UTIL.PolygonToLine to turn that area-geometry into a line-geometry. This can probably be done in a single statement.
    . . . .(e) Others (TSP, spanning tree, etc).
    Regards,
    Noel

  • Measuring distance between points

    Hey,
    I am trying to do 2-D particle tracking.  What I am trying to do is for each point in the image, I want to find the shortest distance to anouther point. Repeat for each point.  Then move on to the next image and then compare those distances, since the particles are moving slowly, to help keep tabs on the particle.  So for example if it was at least 15 pixels away from the nearest particle in picture one, that should stay about the same in picture two.  However I am having trouble trying figuring out how to find the closest particle to every particle.  I am open to other suggestions as well for 2-D particle tracking.\

    I have Adobe Photoshop CS5 installed in two computers. The hard drive of my home computer crashed and I had no time to deactivate the software. The hard drive needed to be formatted. How can I activate the software CS5 again ? Thank you for an answer.

    If it's the same computer, same CPU and same HD, no de-activation or re-activation should be necessary.
    Install from scratch and apply all updates manually.
    Please do a forum search.  I and others have repeatedly answered the question about failed updates of CS5 a whole bunch of times recently.
    Bottom line:  the Adobe auto updater is utterly useless in CS5 and prior versions.  You need to download the updates and apply them manually yourself.
    I and others have even supplied the links for Mac and Win, which you haven't even bothered to specify.
