Repeated calendar entries on iOS 5

Can anyone tell me how to stop repeated calendar entries on my iOS devices? Today, for instance, I have over 40 entries telling me that today is Batttle of the Boyne day in Ireland!  It's getting really annoying and I am syncing just the 1 calendar with iCloud.  Can anyone help?

  • How can I change the time zone for a calendar entry with iOS 7?

I want to make a new entry in my calendar (iOS 7) using a different time zone as the one I'm located in. There isn't any option to choose the time zone like there is in OS X.
I know I can switch off the option to automatically change the time zone in the preference pane of Mail, Contacts and Calendar to get the option in calendar but I want to use this automatic switch.
Is there any option to change the time zone of a calendar entry without loosing this automatic switch?

    Got it!
In your backing file you'll need the following in your handlePostbackData method:
    BookBackingContext bookCtx = BookBackingContext.getBookBackingContext(arg0);
    bookCtx.setupPageChangeEvent("PageLabel");

  • Repeat calendar entries in ical

    Hi All
thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer on this fairly fundamental question...
We are running i cal on a G5 quad, an imac and our two iphones (via moblie me), whenever one of the main computers syncs ical we get repeated diary entries,
ie, if there is an entry in the 'home' diary, it ends up being repeated every time the g5 syncs its calendar, this repeated entry then appears on the imac and the iphones...
    any advice?
how might i make the imac the master diary and make the g5 and the i phones sync to it...?
    thanks!
    sam

You can stop this from occurring by going into the info tab in iTunes and unchecking everything. If you are syncing with mobileMe and those are checked. It will double all of your entries.

  • Cannot Modify Calendar Entries from IOS Devices or iCloud

I'm not able to modify calendar entries on either of my IOS devices, or when logged into iCloud on a Mac or PC. From iCloud, I receive a message stating that the entry modification cannot be saved due to a server error. From an IOS device, it simply reverts back to the original entry after I click "done."
The only way I can modify entries is through Calendar on my iMac. This seems to have just stared within the past week or so. Anyone one else experiencing this issue?

    Hello Alex,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Thank you for your question regarding the Calendar synchronization issue you are experiencing when attempting to complete a synchronization of using the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Have you attempted selecting Forget Device from the menu and reconfiguring the synchronization settings? What is your default Calendar currently set as?

  • Synchronising Lotus Notes repeat calendar entries

I have a 6810 and using PC sych 6.7 synchronise to Lotus Notes 6.5 calendar, to-do and addresses. A great tool, however, when I set calendar entries in Notes that are repeated, only the initial entry is transferred to the phone.
I was working on an older version of PC Synch and upgraded but to no avail.
It is very frustrating as I know I haven't a full calendar on my phone and feel as if I can't rely on it.
    Any ideas???
    Gary

I have a 6230i. The repeat pattern cannot be set on the phone as it only repeats by date not day of the week. However repeat sychronisation worked previously for day of the week when using Office XP. This problem only started when I upgraded to Office 2003. It seems like it took each repeated appointment in Outlook 2000 and copied to the phone but this is not the case in Outlook 2003 as it only copies the first one.

  • How to edit or delete emailed calendar entries in iOS?

When I accept an event into calendar on my iPhone (iOS 7.0.4) that appears as an attachment to an e-mail message, it shows up in the calendar correctly. However, unlike events that I enter directly, I cannot edit or delete the entry later; manually entered events show "edit" in the upper left corner of the screen which allow direct modification or deletion. It does not show on ones from mail attachments.
In the OSX version of calendar, however, those events can be editted or deleted just like any other calendar event.
Is this a bug or a feature? (In the case of "feature", how can I disable it?)
Also, if some sends an update to the event (time change or deletion), the changes do not take effect in the iPhone calendar.
Thanks for any assistance here. If I dont find a good soultion soon, I'm ditching the calendar on the iPhone and going back to paper.

    Hi,
The blue, dotted line indicates an implicit page break where the content has flowed to a new page. Use the same approach for adding/editing explicit page breaks in the Page view as you would in the Web view, by adding/moving/deleting a "New Page" element.
Note that we maintain separate page breaks for each view. A "New Page" item added in the Web view is not included in the layout of the Page view, and vice versa.

  • E73 Repeated Calendar Entries

I must be missing something, since I can not believe that with the market position of the e&3 Mode, that the calendar function would not be capable of setting a simple repeating date. Meeting dates are often based on a repeating cycle such as the first Tuesday of the month or 2nd Wednesday of  the year, or last Friday of a quarter. I am not even looking for holidays that may have complicated calculations involved.  Since the phone does not have enough memory to handle even what it is shipped with, it is not an option to use a 3rd paryt application so if someone knows how I can make the calendar feature practical to use, please advise me.
From functional stand point I need the repeat capablity of at least setting monthly dates that rquire the same day of the week (e.g. 2nd  Monday of every month)
From the I can deal with it point, I would like to know how to have more control over the reminder alarm, such as a longer prewarning and the ability to not just snooze or sleep an alarm (e.g. Alarm set for 2 weeks prior, alarm sounds so I want the reminder  again in several days and when that trips maybe again have it remind me an hour or so before event.

I don't use my E73 for business, and hadn't considered "first Tuesday of the month or 2nd Wednesday of  the year" etc. meetings until reading your post.  No, I don't see a way to configure something like this with the built-in calendar, and yes, I think it's also a huge oversight.   I assume you also use a calendar program on a desktop or laptop computer, i.e. Outlook, Lotus Notes, etc.?  Have you ever tried configuring a meeting like this with one of these programs and syncing it to the phone?  I wonder if it would simply import the dates (minus the calendar logic) or if there could be hidden functionality not accessible through the calendar GUI?  (Probably not.)
I also don't see the built-in alarm clock supporting the functionality you describe.  But there are all sorts of replacement clock/alarm programs available from 3rd parties, and I think you should easily find one to suit your needs.  The stock alarm clock works well enough for me, but I did add a free Java-based stopwatch app a few months ago. There are also one or more replacement calendar programs, but I have no first hand knowledge of these.  Maybe somebody else can help?

  • How can i upgrade from ios 10.5.8 to get icloud on my mac and stop all these repeating ical entries?

I have imac and ipad 3 and iphone 4
I want to sync ical across all three on icloud - at the moment I can do t but get loads of really annoying repeating entries
but have no icloud on my system preferences on imac
do I eed to upgrade my software (currently IOSx 10.5.8)? Or is there another way to sync and not endlessly repeat calendar entries?
    m

Yes, you need to upgrade to OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from their stores, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $30.  You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number.
If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

  • Calendar entries other than birthdays to repeat?

    Hello,
is it possible to set up a repeatable calendar entry, other than a birthday? I have found out that the E61 automatically sets birthdays
to repeat yearly, but I haven't yet found a way to make any other entry repeatable. I remember I have read something about a third-party tool that can do that - but for another model.
    Thanks a lot!

    Thank you, agelanyi!
I´ve found it! It would be nice if there was one more step between monthly and yearly - if you want to add a calendar entry that comes quarterly - but well, nothing´s perfect...
I discovered just now that you can add a longer description to every meeting you schedule, that comes in handy.

  • Non-recurring calendar entries did not restore from backup

I synch contacts and calendar from PC, music and video from Mac. In the past, when I synced a new iphone for the first time, the backup on Itunes on my Mac automatically restored all contacts and calendar entries onto the new iPhone. Today, however, when I did the maiden sync on new 3GS (old iphone was first generation), my contacts and settings seem to have generally been restored, but none of my calendar entries made it over except for a few repeat calendar entries. I'm assuming I will pick up the missing calendar entries when I do my first sync to PC, but does anyone have a theory as to why this happened? Shouldn't all contacts and calendar entries be restored from the backup on the Mac, even though I do not keep my contacts and calendar on the Mac? Thanks for the help.

Follow up to my post -- I now realize that the contacts that got restored to my 3GS are in fact way outdated -- so it appears that the backup from which I restored, while it seems to have had current settings, had very outdated contacts and calendar. It may be that at one time the backup process captured contacts and calendar but no longer does, which I guess means the user has to sync to the computer where he syncs contacts and calendar to get current data onto the iphone (just like I did for music). This may sound obvious to most people, but bear in mind that my 3GS got a list of contacts (and some calendar entries) from SOMEWHERE when I synced to my Mac, even though my Mac has no such data (it is on my PC in Outlook).

  • Duplicate calendar entries - but not related to any kind of sync

I went on holiday for 3 weeks and during that time my iPod touch discharged completely. When I came back and charged it up again I saw that it had reset its date back to what I presume is the factory default of 01 January 1970. I set the date and time to the current date and time - and then discovered that all my MONTHLY and YEARLY repeating calendar entries (but not the WEEKLY ones) have all been duplicated. This is not the result of any kind of sync up since (following a complete system rebuild following a virus attack) I have not yet reinstalled iTunes on my PC and I have not knowingly synced with Outlook because I almost never use it. If I delete an entry that has been duplicated then BOTH entries are deleted. Has anyone seen this behaviour and can tell me how I can remove the duplicate entries? I have looked for posts relating to duplicate calendar entries but they all deal with syncing-related problems whereas mine is not. Thanks.

I have a similar issue. I bought an ipod touch last week and today I synced my entourage contacts, and address book. The address book entries are fine, but I have duplicates on my calendar. Now, its not duplicating per day, its duplicating the previous or next day. For instance, I have a birthday listed for today, it will also show for yesterday or tomorrow. What is causing this? I've checked the calendar on entourage and ical and both show correctly. (ical copies items from entourage)

  • Multiple calendar entry replicates

Whenever I try to use iCloud, many of my calendar entries, especially older ones, are replicated, and may be replicated multiple times. For instance, one repeated calendar entry is replicated about 20-25 times on each and every every day. Interestingly, this particular calendar event doesn't show up when I search for it.
I tried exporting my calendars as iCal files, then importing them back into iCal hoping this would correct any problems with the entries. No luck. When I activate iCloud for my calendars, I create multiple entries for many events.
    Any suggestions?

Be sure that in iTunes you have turned off syncing.  If not, then you get dupllicates when also syncing with iCloud.

  • IOS upgrade does it again.  It trashes my old calendar entries

I have come to rely on the feature in the iOS upgrade that it will trash my old calendar entries. Upgrading to iOS 4 was no exception. It changed start and end times, repeat information, adds entries, combined multiple repeating entries into 1 even though they had different start and end dates and information in the entry and does a whole lot of other nifty stuff. I have reported this with every upgrade and now I realize that Apple does not care what happens to someone's calendar. This IPhone is being synch'd with a Mac so its an apples to apples (sorry for the pun) process.
I have a whole lot of issues with the calendar program on the IPhone. This is the one of the most annoying. The other is if you have parents in the 80's and you set birthdays. They do not show up on your IPhone. They show fine on the Mac but I guess the IPhone does not think your parent's birthday's are important enough to display. I am slowly getting to the point of regretting that I converted to the IPhone. For all of the bells and whistles, when a device cannot do the simplest tasks it becomes an annoyance. Oh yes this is a 3G and not a new phone. I do not intend to spend money until I see that Apple starts to take their customers seriously. They are slowly becoming Microsoft and that is the attitude that I thought I was getting away from.

You have options in the Organizer Tab for Calendar by clicking on Configure. From there, there you can choose to sync ALL calendar entries. This should be a resolution. Additionally, there are options to further control what syncs by clicking on the advanced button.
If you want to control how much calendar data remains on your mobile consider...
I have had problems with Blackberry's handling of appts in the past where - when an appt is deemed to be removed from the mobile device - it removed it also from Outlook! This should NEVER be - but WAS. As a result it is a better 'policy' to simply have your BB sync ALL appts and control how much will remain on your phone by using Outlook's archiving feature. When the calendar items do move to your archive, then you will see appts to be deleted from your phone but they will just be "older" appts according to what you have setup.
And regardless - before you do any new sync or major changes that may react unexpectedly...
Make a backup of your Outlook file just in case!!
    Hope this helps.

  • After upgrading to iOS 5, I lost my contacts, calendar entries, and Notes on my iPhone 3GS (3 years old). How do I retrieve them? My last backup/sync to iTunes acct was Sept 18 but yesterday's backup bombed due to lack of space on my C: drive.

Yikes! After upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5, I lost my Contacts, calendar entries, and Notes (100+) on my iPhone (3 years old). How do I retrieve them? My last backup/sync to iTunes acct was Sept 18 but yesterday's backup bombed due to lack of space on my C: drive.

This happened to me too but it was really all there.  Go to your calendar, click on calendar in the upper left hand corner, click on show all calendars, click done in the right upper corner.  Everything should show up!!!
I was super thrilled.  Hope this works for you!!

  • Infact I now see that calendar entries updated in iOS 6 are all uneditable

Infact I now see that calendar entries updated in iOS 6 are all uneditable

Force-closing the calendar app should and toggling iCloud syncing of your iCloud calendar shouldn't have effected your On My Mac entries as they are not synced with iCloud. Open your calendar, tap the Calendars button on the top left and make sure you have selected to view your On My Mac calendar.   If it's not, select it and these calendar entries will be restored.
You may want to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at a nearby Apple store to have them take a look at your phone. I'm not sure else to suggest short of restoring it.
