Repeated connection/ connection lost with BT on No...

Hi.
I use a Nokia 8800 (2 years old), Win XP SP3, newest PC Suite.
BT= Bluetooth is always on, supposed to sync when I come home (first connection!).
How come I see all minutes "connected=home...", minute later "disconnected home..."
This, I asume, is quite hard on the accu.
Anything I can do?
Thx,
Mike
Edit: what I found out: this more often happens with a self created *.nth Theme (I opened an original, just changed the screensaver and background image, and installed).
Is it possible that a changed theme has another "looking-for-bluetooth" behavior than the original??

I don't have a solution but feel for you as I am going through the same thing.
After over 20 years with BT, I moved to Sky because it seemed sensible as I was getting TV package and Broadband was cheaper. I can only get 3mb with both companies. With the roll out of BT Infinity in my area, I changed back and had this installed last week. Spped went up to 32mb, can't complain about that.
On day 4, modem and hub appeared to be working but could not connect wired or wireless, engineers attended on day 5, 6, and twice on day 7. All said that it was a problem with BT software on my account.  I have spend HOURS on the telephone to BT over the past three days and they cannot find a solution to my problem. On day 6, I changed the email address in advance settings in the hub on their advice and managed to connect to the internet for 1hrs 45mins, before going down again. I have tried to connect several times today without success. I just don't know what the solution will be? What I do know is I have two teenagers that cannot use their xbox live accounts, one unhappy misses who cannot go on facebook and ebay and one daughter who is  tomorrow and cannot use her club penguin membership she wanted as a present! Thanks BT

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.

  • HT202213 can home sharing link automatically or do I have to connect each time after connection is lost ie if i leave house for day with phone do I have to connect shared library again on phone in evening when back in house?

Can home sharing link automatically or do I have to connect each time after connection is lost ie if i leave house for day with iphone or ipad do I have to connect shared library again on iphone/ipad in evening when back in house? It would be good if it just links automatically

Well then maybe I misunderstood what you meant even though now that you explained it again, I should have though about that.
When you leave the house in the morning with your device, you lose the connection to the library because you are no longer on the same WiFi network as you are at home. You have to be on the same network in order to use Home Sharing. Once you get home again, you have to select the Shared Library again.
I apologize for the confusion or misunderstanding.

  • I have the ipad2 with the latest Os upgrade.  On certain websites, I get the following error message: cannot open page. Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost. I have rebooted, turned off wifi and reset the password.

This is happening to only certain websites.  Unfortunately, the work ones that I need to access.  I appreciate any help.
    Error message:
    Cannot open page
Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost
I reset the wifi and the password, I also rebooted several times.

Do you have any other browsers on your iPad? If you don't have one, why don't you try downloading one of these free browsers - they will all be "lite" versions (not full featured)  - but if you can access these websites with one of those - then I assume that we can point to Safari as being the culprit. That will not solve the Safari problem, but it will give us another point from which to work.

I have Mercury, iCab Mobile, Opera, Dolphin and Atomic. iCab Mobile - the paid version is great.
BTW ... have you tried to access these sites from another WiFi connection - like a library, a friend's house - any other WiFi network?

A couple of days ago I kept losing connectivity with the internet.By resetting either my modem or Airport Extreme I could regain it for 10-30 min. when I would have to repeat the resetting.Since, with Apple & Apple store support & many hours of contact with them the problem keeps recurring

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • Airport express connection - lost connectivity to iPad with iOS6 a while ago now lost connectivity to Mac with iTunes 11.1?

Many months ago I upgraded to iOS6 and as a result lost connectivity to my old airport express and tried to resest and reconfig.  I gave up on fixing that and was content with the fact that my Mac still had connectivity.  Now with the upgrade to iTunes 11.1 my Mac has lost connectivity.  Am I dealing with an oboslete airport express, or might this be a configuration issue?

I now have this exact same problem...
My mac to my airport express was working fine up until I performed the update to iTunes 11.1.  Now when I select the airplay speakers from the drop down menu I get this error:
The airplay device 'X' cannot be found on your network.  Please verify your network settings and Airplay configuration or select another device.  (Typed out for people who are looking on for this issue on search engines).
Though my newly updated iPhone on iOS 7 can use the airplay fine without any issues.
So since the new update my phone can use the speakers but my Macbook Pro can't? Help!

  • Connection Lost with keyboard

My PPC iMac G5 keeps saying "connection lost" with a keyboard displayed. The keyboard has new batteries, is paired, and connected. When this occurs no key on the keyboard will work. I can occasionally go to a text editor and get keys to work and then it's OK for a couple of minutes, then "connection lost" again. Does anyone have any thought as to what the problem might be?

    Same problem here..
    I have a Imac 27 also, OSX 10.6.7
The imac is about a year old..
Everything worked perfektly untill the FIRST BATTERY CHANGE.. (about 5 months after imac was bought )
the keyboard and the magic mouse is making a really hard time for me to do my work...
however, i had this issue for a while now, and apple dont wanna do anything about it..
butthe stranges thing is that,.. for about 3 months ago the magic mousestop doing the connection lost thingi..and works perfectly as normal..(strange)
and now only the keyboard is doing it  (batteries in keyboard and mouse allways 100% when i talk about this issue)
so.. bougth an Imac.. everything worked fine.. after 5 months keyboard and mouse starting to flipout..
and about 4 months after that the mouse is fine but keyboard is till flipping out! ( without me making any changes )
Still apple dont seem to care about this...
However i recomend "The Lightbulb conspirisey" - Docymentry film.
It is clear to me that apple is still using PLANED OBSOLESENS in there products,,
and they have no intrest in making sustainable products...
Making economic profit is way more relevent on apples agenda then making sustainable products..
I thought i was paying alot of EXTRA money for the apple products to get the perfection i need..
But noo, they are just masking the usual "PLANED OBSOLESENS" wich is a KEY ingrediens for expanding industries.
And i am very sad that apple dont give a F**** about atcually caring about people. rather then screwing them over...

  • Internet connection lost with EA6500 router

I'm using a fiber optic internet connection and a Linksys/Cisco EA6500 router, with unlimited internet plan. Usually (1 to 2 days), the internet connection is lost and the way to get it back is the radical way in IT: 1st: switch off the modem and the router and wait a couple of minutes; 2nd : switch on the modem and the router. I suspect that this very annoying problem is related to the router settings. Someone can help me in get over this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Nuno

With this type of scenario, this will show that a reset on the router is needed to stabilize the router’s performance. One isolation step that you can try is to connect the computer straight to the modem. In that way, you will be able to determine if the connection coming from the modem is stable. Another step that you can try is to adjust the router’s mtu size by using this link: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=efe3edfeced9436a9f13eeebc89f90c2_4031.xml&pid=80&r.... By doing so, the router’s intermittent internet connection problem can be resolved.  If in case that those steps will not improve the router’s internet connectivity, then you can consider returning and have that router replaced.

  • Internet connection lost with wired connection in hotel

I am in a NYC Hotel and was able to get an Internet connection on my MacBook (2 ghz intel core duo running 10.5.8) via the wifi network with extremely slow connection speed. They also offer Ethernet connection from the room so I tried that and got a very good connection upon restart. I was downloading content from the iTunes store and the connection was interrupted - Internet connection was lost. I tried redrafting again several times but to no avail. I went into network preferences and tried automatic location along with several others I have set up but cannot get it to re-connect. Built-in Ethernet is shown as connected and diagnostics shows Ethernet and network settings in green but ISP Internet and server are red. It configured using DHCP and IP address is 192.168.xx.xxx with subnet mask and router showing addresses as well. DNS Server is identical to IP address and Search Domains says "stayonline.net"
I have 2 other Ethernet connections showing on my locations that I believe are related to Parallels (some say Parallels Host-Guest & Parallels NAT and the others say Ethernet Adaptor (en2) & Ethernet Adaptor (en3)). I have tried making them inactive and re-starting but again to no avail. I don't know much about networking and just want to get my Internet connection working while I'm here. I am sending this from my iPhone and would appreciate any help you all can provide. Thanks,
    Allan

Sorry I meant restarting not redrafting (iPhone apparently doesn't like the word restart and changed it for me!)

  • BT HomeHub2 connection lost with iPhone- BTFON rel...

    Hi
I have a laptop that connects very happily with a BT HomeHub 2.
I also have an iPhone 3GS that does the same.
However, I recently downloaded the BTOFN app on the phone and used the OpenZone a few times.
On the phone, there is now no listing at all for my BT HomeHub under WiFi Settings. It has totally disappeared. I can still connect to BTFON networks sporadically.
Other people have had similar problems following downloading the BTFON app, but always their HomeHub still appears on the list of WiFi networks on the phone.
    I have tried:
    - switching the phone on and off. The HomeHub fails to appears on the Wi-Fi list.
    - on the phone, under Settings\Wi-Fi\Othe to set up another network and typed in the wireless network name and the wireless key, using WEP Security setting. I get the message 'Could not find the network 'BTHomeHub2-xxxx'.
    - on the phone, under Settings\Wi-Fi\Other to set up another network and typed in the wireless network name and the wireless key, using WAP Security setting. I get the message 'Failed to join BTHomeHub2-xxxx'.
    - deleting BTFON app on phone. The HomeHub fails to appears on the Wi-Fi list.
I have recently upgraded the software on the phone to 5.1.
(I assume that when I'm setting up a new WiFi network on the phone under Settings\Wi-Fi\Other, the password asked for is the Wireless Key? Or is it another password?)
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • HT4356 After shutting down my router and PC,  I can get my iPad to wirelessly connect to my HP 3050A printer.  After a period of time the connection is lost and I have to start all over shutting things down.  The PCM never looses connection with the print

After shutting down the router and connected PC, I can get my iPad to connect to air print to my HP 3050A printer.  Connection is lost after time and I have to start the whole process over again.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Thanks for the response Grant.  I had both set to "never" and the power connected.  I did however find while searching the forum page, an answer already given to another enquiry.  The security/general tab.  I had it checked, now unchecked am hoping it will solve my problem.  Thanks again, Cebustu.

  • Connection lost with MS Bluetooth Elite Mouse

    Hi all,
being this my first post, believe me I have been searching allover the place (and elsewhere) for some help but now I am just desperate to get an answer.
I purchased one moth ago a MS Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth. Setting up both, keyboard and mouse was straight forward but then the annoying problem began: The mouse works fine but when left unused for around 3 minutes it looses connection, but never restablishes it again unless I follow the set up procedure again. The keyboard just "wakes up" after pressing any key.
Before writing I have gone through all possible tests and done the following observation:
-It makes no difference if the mouse is defined as "favorite" or not.
-The mouse appears always as being "not paired". This seems logical to me as no code is entered during the set up process.
-Changing energy saving settings makes no difference
-If I logout the connection is restablished.
-In the login window, even if the connection gets lost, moving the mouse wakes it up as I would expect when logged in.
THe later two issues are for me the key point but, I have no clue what else can I do.
After all that and reading some of the entries done by other users, I am pretty sure this issue is OS related.
Any help or comment is very welcome

    Hello again dex:
You have been most thorough in your attempts to isolate the problem. I did search the knowledge base articles, but could find nothing that addressed your particular issue. Since it is a third party mouse, the usual disclaimers are made in the KB articles.
If you have contacted Microsoft (not an easy task) without getting a satisfactory solution, you might try getting the mouse replaced as it is new - while rare, a mouse, like anything else, can fail.
I have encountered pairing/sleep problems before in these forums. However, nothing that I can recall seems to apply to your situation.

  • My iPad is disabled and it says to connect to iTunes with my Mac. Its not working. How can I get my iPad to work?

My iPad is  disabled and it says to connect to ITunes with my Mac. It still is not working.

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.
