Repeated flash crashes in Firefox

Flash crashes repeatedly for me in Firefox on a new 2015 MacBook Retina (12" display)
I saw from another thread that the Firefox crash reports are helpful to the group moderators for crashes, so here are some of mine:

the crash analysis shows it's likely 1146036 – Adobe Flash 17.0.0.134/169 crashing on Flash thread in libGL.dylib in FF 34 and up which makes sense (crash on retina displays with flash hardware acceleration on) Unfortunately there's no clear fix yet other than turning off acceleration as a workaround...

[SOLVED] flash crash in firefox 3.6

Hello archers!
I have archlinux with i3wm.. no DE just albatross gtk theme set with lxappearance. After installing xorg i installed mesa, mesa-demos, libgl and xf86-intel-video. Flash crashes after I start new video. I have to refresh the page to get it working. Everything else installed works like it should. Flashplugin is installed from repos as well as openjdk. Its not a major problem for me but I havent found a solution here on forums or on the net. Ty

I fixed it like this. I was sure the problem was not in hardware acceleration but in firefox since flash was working in opera. You can also try this and enable ha again
The problem is in crash reporting in 3.6. More info on
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins#Disabling_crash_protection
type about:config and change value from true into false for all dom.ipc.plugins values starting from this
dom.ipc.plugins.enabled;false
after that change value from 45 into -1 in
dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs

Why is Flash crashing in Firefox - huge problem

Every day, mainstream websites have their Flash content crash in Firfox for me on XP Pro, Vista and Windows 7.
I love Firefox. I appreciate it is free and thank you for creating and maintaining it. But this Flash thing should not be passed by saying it is someone elses responsibility. For good or for ill, Flash is a basic building block of the web business.
Unfortunately, Steve Jobs seems to be on the money by saying Adobe have become a flaky software developer. With the way Flash performs on my system under Firefox, it leaves me no choice but to spend more of my day with IE and Chrome. But I don't want to do this and would not if Flash could just be at all reliable in Firefox.
BTW, I have tried the advice in the forums but this seems to be a deep down and fundamental issue that PR cannot overcome. The whole "container" strategy is a failure from my pov. While isolating Flash in another process/thread may make sense technically, I really don't want to have notifications of both Flash and container crashes. Really unsettling!
Flash should just work for everyone from the get go without all this fuss.

Flash crashing in firefox 32

After upgrading to Firefox 32 flash is crashing frequently causing the browser to hang. I went into about:config and set browser.disk.cache.enable to false and this seems to have resolved the issue. Why does this resolve the issue and seem to improve Firefox performance?

Flash crashes in Firefox when using a Webcam

Him my issue seems to only aise in FireFox, Chrome seems to handle the webcam fine
Flash (not Firefox itself) crashes every time a website tries to access my webcam at all.
This happens on every website, including the flash version chack page (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html) when right clicking and going into Settings, everything works fine unless I switch to the Webcam tab, which immediately crashes Flash.
Windows 7 32bit, nVidia GTX 560Ti, 4GB Ram, latest drivers for all, latest FireFox and Flash versions.

What webcam do you use? I just tried this with my Logitech C920 but couldn't reproduce.

Adobe flash crashes in Firefox but not with Internet Explorer

I don't wish to go back to an earlier version of Adobe flash as the earlier version caused other problems.i.e. with RealPlayer. Why is it that the latest Adobe flash works perfectly with Internet Explorer but will not work with Firefox.
Is there any way I can get it to work with Firefox, rather than when the problem occurs having to download IE and start again?

Flash crashes using Firefox in full screen mode

When trying to view videos full screen I get a message that Adobe has crashed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe and Firefox using the current versions. This problem does not seem to appear with IE.

The problem in my case appears self imposed. I had previously changed my visual effects settings to best performance. After changing the visual effects settings back to "Let Windows choose..." all my problems with the adobe crashing in full screen mode were resolved. Thanks to jscher2000 for your input.

Flash crashes in Firefox

I have tried every combination of installing, uninstalling, different versions, etc, etc.
Really am tired of this and will be using Chrome, which is not broken. BTW - Win 7 64-bit SP 1.

Flash Crashing Browsers: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)

Hi everyone,
I've been having problems with Flash crashing both Firefox and Safari for some time now. I've archived and installed, erased and installed, installed OnyX and "cleaned" per a now closed thread here on the same topic... my last resort is to replace the RAM.
I'm sure someone else has had this problem and I'm really hoping that someone has figured out how to fix it (short of replacing hardware, of course).

I forgot to mention that I haven't been able to run an AHT because I just realized my original Tiger discs are in storage and all I have is my retail Leopard Mac Box Set. I did see on the other thread a link to:

Flash Crashes Repeatedly - Mac Lion OS / Firefox 7.0.1

I am running Firefox 7.1 and have had Adobe Flash repeatedly crash when trying to view videos on comcast.net and cbs.com. I have updated Adobe Flash to the latest version (according to the Adobe site) and yet the crashes continue. I need help.
I am running:
Mac 10.7.1. (Lion)
Firefox 7.0.1
Adobe Flash 10.3.183.10

i haven't seen a crashlog, so let me assume everyone has the same issue. the root cause of the crashers are with non standard fonts. when the player enumerates through these fonts the non standard fonts causes the player to fault. there are a few ways to get through this issue. pick one that you feel comfortable doing.
try something new: level easy
we release FP 11.2 beta. install this player version will take advantage of new code that handles the non standard fonts. the player is beta and is watermarked, so keep this in mind.

there are 2 solutions to try. one is a quick and dirty, but is not as thorough...
solution 1:
move all the fonts from your /Users/<yourUsername>/Library/Fonts to another location (eg. your desktop). you have the option to delete them if you don't ever plan to use them again
quit your browser and restart your browser

download the previous player version prior to FP11 (10,3,183,10)

Note: the solutions outline here apply to Safari and Firefox. Chrome uses an embedded flash player plugin... it's not advised, but you could disable the ebmedded plugin and make use or the installed alternative.

Adobe Flash Player crashes on Firefox (NetSteam, Stratus)

Flash Player version: 11,8,800,97 (last)
OS: Windows 7
Browser: Mozilla Firefox 22.0 (last)
Problem: Adobe Flash Player crashes on Firefox, when runnig project with such elements like NetSteam, Stratus.
When problem happen: Only when some streamed data is incoming, after random time. Time before crash can be 4 minutes, it also can be 2 minutes. Memory leaks or disk space usage didn't change and don't seem to be a reason. Problem happen when I was testing my voice chat together with few people. At one moment it crashed at few computers at the same time (which were using Firefox). Then we had luck with repeating this problem several times - simply by asking one of us to play any music into Microphone. Then Firefox Flash Player always crashing.

It also show that it does not crashes if nobody is sending audio stream in created group, but it does when somebody is sending audio stream. In that video I'm repeating problem by myself, with help of one computer and 2 tabs of Flash Player. First is running in Chrome, second in Firefox. Player in Chrome is used to send system sound from speakers to peer group. Player in Firefox is listening and playing everything he hears (this is why I set it's volume to near 1).

It's very simplified voice chat which only displays streams which are being heared. It's adding " is talking" when stream is sending data. "g" parameter is a group name, I think you can choose any, but tests were made with this one.

Your issue is distinct from the original poster's issue about a crash on Mac. I've branched this out to a new thread so that we're not confusing everyone.
Firefox on Win8 isn't very stable. We're collaborating with Mozilla on improvements, and my test results with the daily development builds are really promising, but it will be a few more weeks before they actually make it to production releases.
In the meantime, you're way better off using IE or Chrome.

Trying to find out which line of AS2 code is causing flash player crash in firefox & chrome browser

I have a flash movie (AS2) created for the website visitors' registration and this flash movie is longer in size than the browser's window height so that site visitors need to browse down using browser's vertical scroll bar to see all of the contents in the flash movie.
When users click the submit button in the flash movie then
Firstly, the AS2 code attached to the      on(release){    event scrolls the html page back to the top (because the user must have scrolled down to view the flash movie content at the bottom of the page and I want the html page to go back to the top of the page)

Here's my question.
Almost everytime the user/visitor click the Submit button, the firefox browser users and google chrome browswer users see the Flash Player CRASH...
This doesn't happen often with the website visitors using MS Internet Explorer.
I have read some www articles (by searching google) saying that Adobe Flash Player in Firefox and Chrome browsers crash a lot.
But, for my flash movie, everytime the visitor clicks the submit button, flash player crashes. Therefore, I guess it is the AS2 code that I'm using (associated with the on(release) event of the submit button) is causing the flash player crash rather then the flash player compatibility with Firefox and Chrome browsers.
So, someone please tell me what's causing the flash player crash.
Is there a better code to make a web page to go back to the top?

by repeatedly commenting out lines of code you suspect are causing the crush and retesting you should be able to pinpoint the problem.

Flash content makes Firefox to freeze/crash

I have posted my problem a few days ago as a comment (an answer) to the "flash plugin" post from "cj_gadget". But I have got no answer, probably because the "flash plugin" post was labelled as "solved".
So I now post my problem as a new question, and since I have a Macintosh configuration while "cj_gadget" (and many others) was using a Windows PC, the solution may be different!
After a long period without using it, my iMac (running with Mac OS X 10.6.8) has been recently updated with the most recent versions of Firefox (25.0) and Flash Player & Plugin (11.9.900.117). The result is that Firefox crashes (freezes) on every page with Flash content. For other reasons, I have to stay with Mac OS 10.6.8 without upgrading to more recent OS versions. I have looked through Firefox and Adobe Flash Player help pages, as well as through many posts on this forum without finding an effective solution.
Following some of these posts, I have unchecked (in Firefox > Preferences > Advanced) the use of hardware graphic accelerator. Many posts advise to do the same for Flash Player with a right click on the video frame, but this is NOT possible since Firefox freezes immediately as all Flash video start automatically when the page is loaded.
I have also checked that a HTML5 video displays correctly as for : "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w&html5=True" while "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w" stucks Firefox. This Firefox freezing problem is general for all pages with Flash content (that is for a large fraction of the Web!) and NOT limited to Youtube which was just used here as an example.
Some more information : RealPlayer was not present on this computer when the problem appeared. If I disable the Flash pluging in Firefox, it does nor freeze, but of course does not display the video. Safari (version 5.1.10 - ok for Apple software update) works fine with Flash content.
I have sent many hours on this problem without progress and would strongly appreciate any help or even better a solution !

I have been travelling for some time and was not in position to make any new test for about two weeks (the affected machine is an iMac at home).
Today I have uninstalled Firefox using AppCleaner, as well as Flash Player using Adobe uninstall_flash_player_osx.dmg ; and I have then installed both of them from scratch.
Unfortunately the problem is still there :-(
I just notice that I forgot to reboot the iMac (twice) as you said. I believe it may not be so important, but I will repeat the cycle with the reboots included (early next year now !).
I will keep you updated on the issue, and I hope I will not have to reinstall the system. I have the install discs, but this may be an heavy burden...

Repeated issues with Adobe Flash and Facebook Firefox 6

I have had repeated ongoing issues since upgrading to Firefox 6. Adobe Flash crashes repeatedly, even after installing the newest. In particular having a ton of issues with Facebook. It all works fine in IE, so have narrowed it down.
I think I would just like to go back to Firefox 5. Is that available somewhere?

Is this a hack attempt? Is Firefox 3.6 safer than the release channel?
