Repeated iCloud sign requests

My phone continuously requests iCloud sign ins. Any way to correct this issue?

Try signing out and then back in. That usually corrects the issue.

  • Why am I asked repeatedly to "sign in to iCloud" when my phone is charging?

Whenever I try to unlock my iPhone (iPhone 4 recently upgraded to iOS 7.1.2) while it is charging, I am prompted to "Sign in to iCloud".  This is annoying because frequently when I unlock my phone it is because there is something specific I need to access and this login prompt slows me down.
I assume this is somehow related to the automatic iCloud backup which is supposed to only occur when my phone is connected to power and wifi and locked.   When I go into iCloud backup properties I see my backup has not run for several weeks although it is set to run automatically.  I assume this means that iCloud authentication is somehow failing or the backup is somehow failing to start.
I can hit the "backup now" button, so I'm not worried too much that I don't have a recent backup, but I would like to correct this issue, both so my iCloud backup runs automatically and so that I don't get prompted repeatedly to sign in.  Has anyone seen this issue before or does anyone have a suggestion about what I can try to get around this?

  • Annoying iCloud sign-in popup, blocking entire iPhone

    Hello all,
Since I last rebooted my iPhone, an iCloud sign-in popup has been appearing, overlaying everything else on the iPhone. Now, I have reset my AppleID password and cannot login using it on my iPhone. This is not strange as the pop-up is so aggressive I cannot even unlock my sim-card nor configure a WLAN.
Essentially, my iPhone 5 is currently as useful as a stone.
So, does anyone have an idea on how to solve this?
Also, I am fine with completely disabling iCloud on this device, but I haven't been able to do so yet.

Ok, so what I did was to press cancel when requested to logon and get access to internet by timing the small timeslot inbetween the pop-ups and finally activating my WLAN. Once connected to the internet I could login and that of course got rid of the annoying pop-up.
Another possibility to just get rid of the pop-up is to try the wrong password three times and press "reset password/forgot password" which redirects you to a website. Once the website has loaded, the popups stops. This thus does not require one to actually login, but requires you to have an internet connection.
Anyway, nice way of getting people to login to Apple services...

  • ICloud password request comes on screen and won't cancel or allow log in. other issues before this included flashing screen, safari help line invitation and redirected searches. have done safe reboots with mixed success.

had a new drive installed on my MacBook Pro and since then some problems have come up. at first i'd get redirects on my searches that would often lead to a popup stating Safari had a security issue and I should call a certain number.  I guessed that to be Bull and tried to correct the problem myself. Numerous safe boots would clear it for a use or two then back to the redirects again. Now the iCloud password request comes on after startup. it offers two options, cancel or log in. Neither goes anywhere. Is my next option only take in for a service call?

You might have to enter the password a few times before the prompts stop. If you don't actually use iCloud, sign out of it in the iCloud preference pane.

  • How do i solve the problem with repeated renew lease requests

How can i solve the problem of repeated renew lease requests?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
You don't say what you are doing or trying to do. See #5 below.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netwhttp://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • ICloud password request on MacBook startup ???

On startup or wake-up, my MacBook Pro asks for Password twice and recently started to ask for my iCloud/apple id password. Suspecting some sort of phishing scam, I cancel out of the iCloud request and continue without further issues.  Any comments explaining this would be appreciated.

You might have to enter the password a few times before the prompts stop. If you don't actually use iCloud, sign out of it in the iCloud preference pane.

You have to sign out completely in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud on all your devices and then sign back in again.

Thus, when I go to Iphoto to set up photo sharing, it says I have to have icloud account-go to sys preferences--then i go through the loop again?  Suggestions?

Now I have to get my sign-in for mobileme to be the same as my sign-in for Itunes, etc. so I have only one Apple ID!
You're not going to be able to: you can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to another: but there is no problem about using two IDs.
Use your ex-MobileMe email address (which is also an Apple ID) for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream.
Use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

  • I changed to a new iphone 5, but it keeps coming up with my old Apple ID FOR iCloud sign in. My Apple ID is correct for iTunes and App Store and on my ipad. The user names stays greed out on the iCloud sign in and I can't change it.

I recently changed from my old Iphone 5 to a new one. The Apple ID that comes up when signing into iCloud is my old Apple ID, yet the correct one is shown on iTunes and apps. I can't change the Apple ID to the correct one, and am unable to restore my latest back up from icloud. I have tried everything, but I can' t change the Apple ID on the phone. It stays greed out. My Apple ID is correct on my ipad and when I log into my iCloud account via the internet. How do can I fix this?

Skip the iCloud sign in for now.
Once you reach the home page, go to settings and sign out of FaceTime and Messages.  This should also sign you out of iCloud.
Go to iCloud in settings and sign in with the correct Apple ID.
    If that does not work
    Skip the iCloud sign in
Go to Apple ID.apple.com and sign in
Change your Apple ID to the old one
Delete iCloud account on your device with the old Apple ID and the same password.
Go back to the website, change your Apple ID back to the current one. You will receive an email to verify the account. Verify first.
Sign into iCloud on your device with the correct Apple ID and password

HI people could someone tell me after the iOS 8 update when I go to reply to a email iCloud sign in pops up ?? And can this be removed or turned of ?? Any help much welcome Thank you

Try force-closing the Mail app (double-tap the home button, swipe up on Mail to close it, tap the home button again), if this is an iCloud email account also go to Settings>iCloud and turn Mail off, then reset your phone (hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release).  After it restarts, turn Mail on again in Settings>iCloud (if you turned it off earlier) and test the mail app again.
