Repeated request to install flash player, MAC

Hi, I am using OS X version 10.9.4. Every time I switch on my computer, I am promoted to download flash player. This is very frustrating. Please advice how I can fix this. Thanks.

I just noticed that there was an update for Mac OS X after posting this (10.10.2) and, sure enough, that fixed the problem. Why Flash doesn't install on 10.10.1? It's a mystery.

  • Unable to Install Flash Player (Mac)

I'm attempting to install Flash Player on a Mac running Yosemite (10.10.1). Whenever I attempt to open the installer the icon appears in the dock but no UI ever appears and the Activity Monitor describes the application as being unresponsive, forcing me to force quit it. I've also tried using the "Flash Player for Safari and Firefox – NPAPI" installer linked to on the Troubleshooting Page and while that one does bring up a UI and allows me to accept the License Agreement it freezes in the same way when I accept the terms on the first screen and hit install.
This is on a clean install of Yosemite that is not yet 24-hours old. The only other things installed on the Machine are the Homebrew package manager, Java, and Apple's command line development tools.
Many thanks for any insights that you guys can provide.

  • Repeated requests to update Flash player on Amazon Video

I was streaming a movie perfectly for an hour until the movie hiccuped and then Amazon then prompted me to update my flash player, even though I was already on the latest version. After installing, it didn't work. I have since gone through the entire troubleshooter multiple times, clearing the cache, increasing the storage, etc... and uninstalled, and reinstalled Flash multiple times. I have not gotten my Amazon video to stream on IE or FF with the current flash player.
Windows 7 32 bit Firefox RCN
    ETA Pictures

I had the same repeated requests to upgrade, usually just as the video started or before.  It doesn't happen on all videos.  I also tried all nine steps in the trouble shooting guide and noticed I got a little further into the video before the notice appeared.  I tried decreasing the screen resolution and it worked on the laptop screen alone.  When I tried to send it to the LCD TV via vga, I got the notice again.  Tried the reduced resolution to no effect.  Then I killed the laptop screen and tried again. It worked on the TV at full resolution after one failure when I got the the usual notice to upgrade.  I had to restart the 55 min video twice when I got the "loading from amazon" message that persisted (probably a separate problem).  I have  no idea what is going on.  Older cheap laptop without separate graphics card, Windows 7 32bit, Explorer 9, Intel accelerator (4 series) driver  version 8.15.10.2302.

  • Trying to install flash player - Mac Air

I had flash player a few days ago.  Now I keep getting plug-in failure.  I've tried for hours today to download...  You tube won't play either.  Your site says I have latest installed but I can't see it in my launchpad

You won't see it in LaunchPad.. It's NOT an app. It's a plug-in. It installs to Mac HD/Library/internet Plug-ins.

Using Firefox 22.0, can't get latest version of Flash to download and install. Gets to 50% then stops and says "error". To try and fix this, I've uninstalled the older version, but that didn't help. What now?

  • I can't install flash player on MAC

I can't install flash player on MAC
give me error after program download on MAC as me to put my user ID and password
I try to put but always give me error

    @douglasbell2
The dialog window requesting the password is an OS dialog window, it is not a Flash Player window.  I understand the confusion, but we can't modify a system dialog window with additional information.
    @jongenelen
If you're system does not have a password, you should be able to continue the installation with out it.  Ignore the password field and click the OK button.  If your system does have a password and you don't recall what it is, I recommend Googling something like "reset lost os x password".  This search returns many results, and some vary depending on the OS version.

  • Trying to install flash player on Mac  OS 10.6 .

Trying to install flash player on Mac  OS 10.6 w/Safari.  Ran uninstaller.  In troubleshooting guide, no version comes up in the box, and no error message. I have unblocked cookies and pop-ups. No firewall. Still, the download bar runs to completion, and then nothing. Help?
UPdate: called my local Apple Geek, and he said go to finder, click on adobe download, and go from there. Got the install icon, and its installed. 2 minutes versus the 2 hours I spent on the Adobe troubleshooting page. Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Or have a beer. Anyway, thanks for reading and good luck.

I have tried about twenty times to install the Adobe Flash Player on my Mac. I had Adobe malware previously when responding to a fake popup Adobe update request.
In orfer to install now I am asked to disable my anti virus. If I do it would be permanent. I get the Adobe download and installer and even see I have an installed version in a box on the Adobe page but cannot access pdf's that require the player.

  • I have a mac computer.  I am trying to install flash player but get the message "install adobe flash player wants to make changes.  Type your password to allow this." I do not use a password to open the computer.

I have a mac computer that uses no password.  When installing flash player I get the message "Install adobe flash player wants to make changes  Type your password to allow this.  I can't get past this message.

    Hi,
To change your password you will need to open System Preferences, then open Users & Groups, click on Change Password.  Change your password to a temporary one, then when you have finished you do the same procedure to change it back, by typing in the temp password then leaving the new password blank.  Hope this helps.

  • Help needed installing Flash Player Update on Mac

I am trying to install a flash player update on Mac - right now the one site I'm trying to use says flash is out of date.   Will not accept my adobe password, reset it through the adobe site and still will not work.  Tried Chat help and agent said to reset password through the Apple screen.  When  I try that it asks for apple id and password but there is only a place for the password.  Any suggestions.

    Hi,
This is the OS (Apple) prompting for the password, not Flash Player, therefore, the password is your Apple password, not Adobe ID password.  Please see What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player?

  • Unable to install Flash Player 16.0.0.305 on Mac Book Pro running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2

Trying to update Flash Player and will not install. This is what I have done:
I downloaded the update and it failed to install.
Ran the uninstaller and and ran a clean install. Downloaded and got to 75% and got a general failure.
Went to the troubleshooting page and did the following:
    Verified no flash installed
Not being asked to close browser because I closed it before starting the installer
Verified Flash player is enabled in Safari
Installer started so that isn’t the problem
Performed uninstall and clean install again
Tried the NPAPI link for Mac
    I also tried the following:
    Uninstall
    Download Installer
    Shut down computer
    Restarted computer
Started installer failed at 75% again

    Hi karis20774009,
To accurately identify the issue, and help us improve the online installer experience, we would really appreciate it if you could do the following for us:
Perform a speed test on your internet connection.  There are a myriad of sites that do this, for example, www.speedtest.net,www.speakeasy.net/speedtest, www.dslreports.com/speedtest, and your internet provider may also have a page in their support/help section to do a speedtest.
    Goto Location --> ~/Librarly/Logs/Adobe_ADMLogs
Upload the two log files (Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.log) using the instructions posted here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1408375
Reply back to this thread with the results of the download speed test and the URL to the uploaded log files.
In the mean time, the offline installer is posted at Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the 'Still having problems' section should work for you.
    Thank you in advance.
