Repeated requests to add-on Flash Player

I am experiencing what seems to be a common problem, with every webpage having a pop-up:I have exhausted the various online troubleshooting guides with no luck,  I have installed the latest player.  I have enabled Flash in Tools|Manage add-on, disabled ActiveX filtering, cleared adobe caches, deleted browser data in Control Panel|FP|SAettings Manager|Advanced, reset security levels as suggested, and probably other steps I can't remember...  Why is this so difficult?  Can someone help me?

You can't, it's not supported on any iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Apps such as Skyfire claim to support flash, but their reviews are mixed. Some websites (especially news sites) have their own apps in the App Store, so you could check to see if your favourite(s) have apps.

    Hi,
I haven't encountered the behaviour your experiencing (Disk Image file continuously mounting) and this seems to be an issue with the mounted Disk Image and not Flash Player itself. Have you tried ejecting the mounted Disk Image?  I Googled your scenario, among the many results returned, here are some possible solutions:

  • In Windows 8, under manage add-ons, Flash player is listed under the heading Not Available, but is listed as being Enabled.

I Try to reinstall it but it tells me it is already pre-installed with my windows 8 and to turn off active x filtering or to enable it in manage add ons.  Active x filtering is not on, and it is currently enabled, it is just listed under the Not Available heading and I am guessing that is why it is not working when I go to view something that needs flash player.  Is there a way to uninstall it and reinstall it going around the windows preinstalled??  Or a way to get it out of the Not Available and into the Adobe heading in my add-ons??

What you can do is either Reset IE (Gear > Advanced > Reset), or if that doesn't work, you'll need to go into Add/Remove programs, find the last Windows Update for Internet Explorer or Flash, uninstall it, then re-install it from Windows Update.  This will usually get you back to a good state with IE.

  • Cannot have vidoes played via HBO GO, as there seems to no way to add Adobe Flash Player as an add-on/pligin.

When I visit the HBO GO website, I have no problems logging in, nor selecting a video that I want to view. After selecting a video to view, the "Rating Screen" appears, but then the next screen, in trying to "load" the video, does not function. That is, it just states "Buffering", and below it is a circle with a white "light" going through each of the circles (here is the link:
    http://www.hbogo.com/#home/video&assetID=GOROSTGP34240?videoMode=embeddedVideo/
I do not have this issue with Safari.
I do not see any way of "adding" Adobe Flash Player as an add-on/plugin to Firefox. That software is required for HBO GO to function.
    Please help.

    Hi akent35,
We have put together a whole section for [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fixing-facebook-or-youtube-problems troubleshooting video issues]. There might be some useful information in there.
[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-flash This Knowledge Base article] will show you how to install the flash player.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Why can't I add adobe flash player to my iPad?

Why can't I download adobe flash player to my iPad?

Because Adobe has never made a version of Flahs that can run on an iOS device like an iPad.
You can try out a Flash supporting Browser like Photon or Puffin and see if you can view whatever you are trying to view through there.

  • Please can you explain how to add adobe flash player when using Mozilla ?

I cannot view videos without them constantly stopping.
I have been told that I need to use adobe flash player.
When I try to load this, though, the download will not work.
A message apprears to say I must turn Mozilla Firefox off.
Please can you explain how I can get around this ?
Please note, I am not very good with computers, so it would be good if you can make the instructions as basic as possible.
    Many thanks !

Download the non-IE version of Adobe Flash for your system here:

Close the browser, and temporarily disable your anti-virus

  • Request for help installing Flash Player on Mac

It's clear that my computer doesn't have the latest version of Flash Player. When I try to download the latest version, I see the file downloading completely in my "downloads" window. But as soon as the downloading is done, the file disappears and I don't get a pop-up box or anything, even when I disable my pop-up blocker. Any suggestions for how to overcome this problem?

  • Repeatedly get asked to install flash player

Everytime I want to view any video off of Yahoo's site, I am asked to install Adobe Flash Player.  I checked my PC and I have the lastest version installed.   Why does this keep happening and what can I do resolve this problem?

This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11 and Yahoo, Facebook, BBC, CBC, ESPN, NBA and NFL websites (to name just a few), which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.
