Repeated source system in 0logsys infoobject.

Hi friends,
I'm facing small problem in my project.I want to extract data from three clients so that i have used 0logsys in my target.When i perfrom data extraction it's bring two logical systems i mean duplicate logical system e.g: actual logical system is prdclnt300 but also it's bringing prd300.
When i check infoobject lavel there is no duplicate e.g: prdclnt300 values but when i check in my multiprovider query variable screen(I used 0logsys charecteristics in variable screen) it's shows repeat vales.
Anybody have this kind of problem. Anybody suggest on this.

hello,
We already have a BW production system connected to a unique SAP R/3 system.
Our infoproviders (ODS and infocubes) and our infoobjets are not compounded with 0logsys or 0sourcesystem.
We have to connect a second R/3 system to our BW systems.
Our problem is that we will be able to find master data with the same range in each system (for instance costcenter XXX will exist in both system but with different attributes).
My question is :
do I have other solution than adding 0logsys (or 0sourcesystem ?)as a compound of each master data we use and in all providers ?
Can you confirm me that for adding this compound "everywhere" i will have to empty all my infocubes/ods/master data ?
I've never done such transformation in BW so If you have advice to give it will be nice.

Hi Lea,
If you to want the 0legsys value along with historical data then you need to delete all historical data.

Error: Infoobject is not defined in the source system

(I posted this in other forums as well - but wondering, it it should be here in BCT/Extractors - I could use more help).
this is my issue:
I am trying to load master data (attr) for an infoobject.
But, it fails with the following error message (when I click on the "Error message" button on the "monitor" screen.
"Infoobject is not defined in the source system"
"Erros in source system".
(I did rsa3 and find it has some data + i checked on the base table as well, it has data; the datasource is from an SRM system) Why is it complaining like this.
any help on what could be wrong here? Pl let me know,

Do I have to install the infoobjects on the source system as well? SRM is my source system.. I am not sure on that, but If I have to, how do I do that?

How to load master data from 2 source system without using 0logsys as compo

Hi Gurus,
I am working on a project which has 2 source systems.
Now I have to load master data from 2 source systems without making 0LOGSYS as compunding attribute. Because all the objects which i want to use compunding attribute are reference objects for lot of other info objects. So, i dont want to change the business content objects structure.
So, please help me out providing logic.

Jump from (RRI) BEx query parsing infoobject without MD to source system

Hi!
I have a snag that I hope someone out there will be able to help me with. I have a query that cointains purchasing line items. I want to jump from a purchasing order number in the query to transaction me23n (display purchasing order) in the source system.
This works fine in the portal (don't ask me why there's a difference..) where ECC is launched as a new portal window and the data is parsed correctly. But when attemting to do the same in BEx Analyser the system pops a dialog demaning that I choose which infosource should be used for reversing the infoobject into the proper ECC table field...
Now the infoobject is 0REF_DOC_NR, and it doesn't have any masterdata or texts.. so there is no "papertrail" for the system to follow back to the source.
In RSBBS the I have selected delete for all other infoobjects and set the line for 0_ref_doc_nr like this:
InfoObject: Reference Document Number, Type: Table Field, Field Name: EBELN, Selection Type: Parameter, Required Entry: X, Data Element: EBELN, Domain: Blank, SET/GET Parameter: BES

and when try this:

with field assignment: shopping cart number = GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID

Do we transport 0LOGSYS (Source System) Info Object?

We are transporting the info objects first time to the quality. when we selected the necessarry objects for the required info objects in transport Organization it also picked 0LOGSYS info object.
My question is do we transport 0LOGSYS info Object?
And also it has created a Task number which is a type of repair (Yello color if you see in the main screen of SE09).
why it has created a repair task?
Can anybody please explain this?

Yes, you can transport 0LOGSYS InfoObject.
If the current system is not the original system of the object, the object will be assigned to a task of the type repair.
Repair in Change & Transport System
The modifications of SAP standard objects.
Repository objects that are changed in a system other than their original system are entered in repairs. Objects can be transferred from their original system by transports.

Simple..
GOTO Infoobject change mode.
click on MASTERDATA /TEXTS TAB
There we have checkbox " Character . is Infoprovider " you select that and give the Info area name and actvate it
Then you can find that in INFOPROVIDER MENU
and SELECT THE INFOAREA WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN in infoobject.

CLIENT of the source system in the Transfer Rules

Hi,
Can I get the CLIENT of the source system dynamically in the Transfer Rules (and assign it to an InfoObject)?
I have a generic extractor from a R/3 source system. The table in the source system & the extract structure the DataSource both contain MANDT, but its not coming in the RSO2 screen (which, if I'm not wrong, is how it should be).
I need the CLIENT info. in my BW data targets. I do not want to hardcode this value in Trans Rules as the client in Dev & Prod is different for my R/3 sys.
If I can't get it directly from the DataSource, is there any way I can get it from any system field using routine?
If I'm not wrong - SYST-MANDT in the Formulas will give me only my BW CLIENT.

hi,
i think if your bw dev and prod client is different you can try in transfer rules
if sy-mandt = xxx. ( bw dev client number)
result = 'yyy'. (source system dev)
else.
result = 'zzz'. (source system prod)
endif.
or enhance the extract structure/ append structure with zz field for mandt and field in user exit zxrsau01 with sy-mandt
or if use infoobject 0LOGSYS, populate in transfer rules with result = g_s_minfo-logsys.

Transaction Data from multiple source systems

Hi BW,
I want to load transaction data from two source systems: SQ1CLNT100 QA and SQ1CLNT200 Training client. into one BW system. What is the best practice, do I need to create another data structure or can I mix the data for QA and training in one data structure and separate them with authorisation?
Please someone should help me out with the best practice on this.

Dont you think that if I copy bid from one source system and use it in another, the two bids will have the same GUID? if that is possible, then I may be faced with the problem of data override. Please advice further.

Unable to generate "Export data source" for Master data infoobject

Hi Gurus,
I'm in BW 3.5
I need to generate "Export data source" for a master data info object.
I followed below steps:
I ticked the checkbox "Characterist. is export data source" in the master data Info object maintenance screen.
In the Infosource area, for the desired Infoobject --> Right click --> Generate export datasource --> a dialog box displays saying "The generation of DataSource was successful"
Problem:
Even after refreshing, etc.. I couldn't find the generated datasource 8**** for the above master data. I also tried to replicate the datasource from the myself source system, but couldn't find it even there. I don't know where the generated export data source is hiding ???
Could anyone please help ????

Hi Venkat,
I guess that after creating an export datasource for infoobject this DS should appear in the RSA1-Source systems - MYSELF - datasource overview (with name starting with 8). Since it's a datamart, it should appear also as system generated infosource. And in this case you would be able to assign in URs of data target the appropriate infosource (make sure that in Infoproviders tab of RSA1 you have inserted your infoobject as a data target).
However, there are some bugs related to export data source. CHeck if you see you export data source in RSA6.
If you don't see it - consider applying OSS Note #816892 - "30BSP26: Export DS for master data is not generated".
Note #876845 - "30BSP29: InfoObject change: Export DataSource not adjusted" is also may be useful.

Modelling the fields in the cube from different source system.......

Hi,
I need to create one query on the cube.
User want some of the fields in the query which are present in diffrent source system , rest of the fields are present in the cube.
These are master data fields ( 7 fields in total) from other source system.
Cube gets data from one ODS.
some steps I need to do are :
1) create new source system
2) Create corresponding objects in BW.
3) Model the things in ODS and cube
Can somebody let me know what is the best way/steps to model such scenario.

Replicate both the data sources to BW.
Create 2 infosources/transformations, map them to respective fields and infoobjects.
Now assign them to cube and load the data

Error in Source system (Job is not going in to job log of CRM system)

We replicated datasources from CRM server in BI 7 server and they get replicated and are in Active version
All transactiond atasources which are 7.0 version are executing successfully, but the Datasources which are in 3.5 version i.e. Datasource for master data infoobject gives error while executing infopackage.
The error message is as follows:
"Diagnosis
     In the source system, there is no transfer structure available for
     InfoSource 0CRM_MKTMETA_ATTR .
System Response
     The data transfer is terminated.
Procedure
     In the Administrator Workbench, regenerate from this source system the
     transfer structure for InfoSource 0CRM_MKTMETA_ATTR ."
Also while executing the infopackage the job log in source system is not able to create the corresponding job.
Following action are already been taken:
1. Datasource replication
2. Confirmed that the Transfer Structure are avialable and are in ACTIVE state.

It seems some changes are taken place at Source System for the Mast.Data DS. Try to Recheck the Same at Source System -- Activate/Retranport the same.
BI side.
RSA13Source System Your DS-- Replicate the Data Source -- Try to Run RS_TRANSTRUC_ACTIVATE_ALL(SE38) / Activate Transfer Rules Manually -- Then Full/Re Init -- Delta Uploads

IDocs at Source system --BD87 / WE19/WE20/WE30/WE02 are the Tcodes for IDOCs
Till42 Outbound Idocs after 50 Inbound Status Idocs.
You can even see the Idocs at Info Package -- Monitoring -- Environment - Idocs at Source system.
Check your RFC at SM58/SM59 -- If the Queue Stuck -- Execute LUWs Manually.
When the IDOCs are Taking time to process it is always better to Make the yellow request to Red and Delte the Request and Go for Repeat .

How can i create source system in BI

Hi gurus,
I am using BI 7.0, its SRM addon.
in that i used source sytem sub functional for creating flatfile.
there i got folder like BI, SAP, EXTERNAL SYSTEM, FILE, DB CONNECT, UD CONNECT, WEBSERVICE.
so i trying to create PC souce sytem by right click on FILE folder,
it popups window with
Logical system nae---i have given current client
type and release---What is that?? which one i have to select...it shows as ORA, TLF, XPD.
I dont know for flat file source sytem why they are asking the above stuff, even we select ORA it shows error as <b>"source system has same name as BI"</b>
pls hep me out on creation of the source system'

I am exctracting the data from Flat File Source System like SMID(Characterstic) and PQTY,SALE,PROFIT as a KeyFigures
I have taken SMID as Characterstic and PQTY,SALE,PROFIT as a KeyFigures..
I hav created InfoObject Catalog for Characterstic and Keyfigures...
I Created a Application Componenet and Assigned Objects to InfoSource also...
But i struckked while assigning the Source System to the InfoSource...
I am not able to find how to assign the Source System like we do in 3.0b,3.1c & 3.5..
Can anybody tell me the Step by Step Navigation procedure for to assign Source System to the InfoSource and Other Things also....
