Running Win XP. Used to get complete media downloads until recently. Using Mozilla addons. YoutubeMP3 and Ant and neither completing the task.

Also I've only been doing this and it happening from youtube

Trying to download iTunes 10.4.1. I have windows xp. iTunes would not load. I followed the directions from this sight to uninstall everything. When I try to install, I get this message: C:\Documents and Settings\Kelley\Local Settings\Temporary Intern

launch so I am trying to reinstall. I followed the directions from this site about uninstalling and deleting files and making a backup. When I try to

Hi - thanks for your help and sorry not to have replied before - I've been away.
I use mainly Chrome but also tried IE8 just in case - no difference. However I finally remembered that when I had a similar problem downloading/installing OS4 for my iPhone (which crashed it and caused total lockup for about 4 days, resolved only after hours of calls to iPhone helpdesk) it turned out that the problem was caused by my home wi-fi connection. When I hard-wired the network connection the problem was solved. I tried it with iTunes - and it installed first time.
Don't know what would cause this problem, which as far as I can see affects only Apple software. Everything else seems to download and install over the wi-fi without glitches.

Adobe Media Downloader pauses and will not resume (June 18 deadline!)

As an Adobe Photoshop Elements subscriber, I scanned and stored 924 pictures, most of them TIFFs of original family photos from the 19th century. Adobe has emailed me to download all the TIFFs before June 18 because of the platform change to Revel, which does not support TIFFs. As instructed, I have downloaded and installed AdobeAir and Adobe Media Downloader and I have made numerous attempts, on two different PCs (both Windows 7), to make the download. Each time, Media Downloader pauses, usually at about image 400, and says to check if the disc is available (plenty of room on my drives, and I have also attempted with a clean external hard drive) and then to resume. Clicking "resume" just brings up the same message endlessly. So I restart Media Downloader and it begins the process again at image 1, only to eventually pause again and ask me to resume. So hard drive space isn't the problem, and my ISP is Verizon FIOS with measured speeds above 75/35, so these pauses shouldn't be being caused by network speeds.
Given the time constraint, I tried to resolve this problem today through Adobe's "pay-for-help" telephone line, but was told that the only support for Adobe Media Downloader is through this forum!

and reinstalled, began "Download" to a new external hard drive with 1.81
TB of available space (total download is 3.71GB) ... and got to
"Downloading 9 of 924 items" before getting the error message: "The

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Lock-up with Media Downloader

I've got an older version of Premiere Elements (3.0) that I am trying to re-install after a hard drive crash. The installation appears to have gone ok but when I try to direct the source menu to DVD, it opens Media Downloader, comes up with a "locating device" message, and that's all she wrote. I've got through the checklist, down to the parts of modifying the registry, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I'm betting I'm not the first person to have this problem. If I can't get this to work, it looks like I'm out of luck with Premiere Elements (don't know what else to do). I looked back through several pages and didn't see a solution on this Forum. Any ideas from anyone? Thanks.

Do you have any version of Photoshop Elements installed on the same computer as Premiere Elements 3.0.2?
If so, I have something else for you to try. If you have Photoshop Elements 3, 4, 5, or 6, open the Organizer and go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Camera or Card Reader and disable the Adobe Photo Downloader. I have Photoshop Elements 3, 6, 7, and 8, but not 4 and 5. I know first hand that there is a check off for disabling the Adobe Photo Downloader in versions 3 and 6. I do not see that you can do that in versions 7 and 8. And, of course I do not have versions 4 and 5.
Since nothing else has resolved your problem so far and you mentioned that the "Adobe Photo Downloader" fails to close, that got me going in this desparate direction of looking for a conflict between the Photoshop Elements "Adobe Photo Downloader" and the Premiere Elements "Media Downloader".
Have you tried "flushing the preferences".

Do you mean you can't see the instructions on what to do if there is no UpperFilters entry?
If so, here's the relevant instructions for that step:
On the right side of the Registry Editor window, right-click the UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.
Right-click the empty white space within the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor window. From the shortcut menu, choose New > Multi-String Value.
Name this new value "UpperFilters" (without the quotes). Then, right-click the newly created UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.

Well it started happening AGAIN with my 2nd IPod. No matter what I did, it Itunes would NOT restore it!
I finally installed Itunes on my hubby's PC at work and managed to get it restored there.
Apparently, there must be some sort of compatibility issue with the windows version of Itunes and some other piece of software on my pc.
And one more important thing! I had to follow the instructions in the other thread that talks about how to correctly uninstall itunes and quicktime, in order to completely eliminate ALL traces of my "first" ipod's existence so it wouldn't demand that I restore it.
I think the software got "confused" and thought when I connected my 2nd ipod, that it was the 1st and that it still needed to be restored.
Basically, this is just POORLY written and POORLY tested software!

Hello, your best bet would be to clone your drive to an external drive, which will be bootable.

Please do a forum search. I and others have repeatedly answered this question a whole bunch of times recently.
Bottom line: the Adobe auto updater is utterly useless in CS5 and prior versions. You need to download the updates and apply them manually yourself.
I and others have even supplied the links for Mac and Win, which you haven't even bothered to specify.

After you install the Adobe Media downloader, then you will be prompted to log in with your Adobe ID. This will be the Adobe ID that you used to log into Photoshop.com

Ability to run Reports on Media Download items... (Enhancement Request)

I would like to suggest that ABC consider enhancing the Reports section to allow users to run reports on the Media Download items. I have a client that is interested in tracking their download activity of whitepapers and brochures off their website, and while you can go to each of the individual items and see the activity in a graph, this is limiting in a number of ways.
Activity is not able to be pulled into their own reporting system and they have to manually re-enter the numbers based on day, month, etc... to get the information. We should be able to export the information and have it pulled down via CSV like other statistics on the site.
It's cumbersome and time consuming to have to go to each individual item and look at the "Activity" one at a time. If this were added to the Reports section, users could go in and review the Media Downloads (in total) to see how many times information is being pulled off their site, but then use the sort/selection options to quickly jump to each of the individual Media Download items. As with #1, it would also be advisable to have this data exportable into a CSV file so that it can be used in Excel, then sorted that way.
It would also be good to add the Media Downloads as an option to the Custom Reports area, so that a client could save certain search options to pull specific sets Media Download items to see what's being downloaded from their site.
Hopefully this can get some traction in the ABC community, or if someone out there is aware of how to do this otherways, please let me know. I did chat with SBC support via Chat and they indicated that what I wanted to do was not possible at this time.

Eric- While you are waiting for this feature to be added to reporting-- have you tried using Google Analytics Event Tracking to track the downloads? You'll get an accurate representation of downloads if you hook that up.

You might, for instance, make sure all your Media Download links have a class of "media-download" and using javascript can track a "Download" event when those links are clicked.
