Repeatedly the same error in the omsca.log file during 11g installation

Hi Experts,
One of my customer is getting the below error in the OMSCA.log file:
java.lang.Exception: CREATING_WEBTIER_INST_FAILED
     at oracle.sysman.omsca.adapter.wls.OMSWLSAdapter.adapterConfigWebTier(OMSWLSAdapter.java:1808)
     at oracle.sysman.omsca.framework.OMSGenericAdapter.configWebTier(OMSGenericAdapter.java:306)
I have checked his setup and pre-reqs,all seems to be perfectly fine.
Kindly let me some pointers related to this issue.

  • Message in alert log file during the startup of the DB

    Hi,
i have two instances, i have the same warning in the alert log file during the startup of the DB:
Oracle instance running on a system with low open file descriptor limit.
Tune your system to increase this limit to avoid severe performance degradation.
The db_files parameter was at 1024 for the two instances, i have set it to 300 for the first instance and 550 for second, the message for the first instance was droped(it's ok), but the message was there in the alert log for the second instance.
The two instance are on the same machine.
The number of the open file limit on the linux machine is equal to 1024.
I have shutdown the first instance (with db_files=300) the problem persits for the second instance (with db_files=550).
My question is how to determinate the right value of db_files parameter to avoid this message.
    Regards.

Increase the max number of open file on Linux or decrease db_files.
f the OS limit is 1024 db_files would have to be >= 472 for the message to be printed. t is printed if an instance is configured to access more datafiles than the OS-specific limit on the number of files that can be open in a single process. In this case the server will re-cycle the file descriptors.

  • Windows 8 installation error: "We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files."

I recently tried testing Server 2012 for installation and I had a major issue.  Windows 8 also uses the same method for installation so this should also apply to Windows 8.  I thought this might be helpful for other people who have the same
problem.  My setup is a 1U server with no DVD drive, no hard drives, and only USB.  I have a new hard drive that I wanted to install Server onto, so I put it in and ran the installer off a thumb drive.  I kept receiving the following error when
I tried to format the hard drive and proceed with the installation:
"We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files."
After hours of troubleshooting, I determined my problem was I was using a thumb drive to install it, and Windows didn't like it.  Some people had similar issues when similar devices were plugged in (i.e. external hard drives, SD cards, CF cards, etc).
In my case, it was the installation drive itself was a thumb drive.  I ended up digging up an external DVD drive and placed the installation onto a DVD.  Worked flawlessly.  Now I am up and running.
    I tried
the steps here to no avail.
Hope this helps anyone else with the same problems.

  • Error in the imta log file

    Hi
I have the following message in the imta log file
ld3 ims_master[19481]: Store Critical: Unable to read index file for user/romanrob: Mailbox does not exist
but if I do a find for the mailbox it exits in the partition directory.
THis is a brand new system, I have 196000 users on the ldap that were loaded yesterday. Also, I am looking for some advise on ldap cache settings and email configuration settings to improve performance. I am running Messaging server 6 2005Q4 in a Sun-Fire-V890 with 24G memory.

This was affecting all accounts, I ran the reconstruct command and it seems that it fixed the porblem, I tried imap/pop login and I was able to see the content of the inbox and folders.Excellent. You may then want to run:
./reconstruct -rThis will go through all accounts and run basic sanity checks over the store.* files and the contents of messages on disk. If a problem is found the store.idx file will be regenerated/fixed along with the quota database etc.
It is possible that the error was generated because there was not inbox created in the store by the time the user got the first message? This is possible. As I noted before there can be several explanations for the message.
Also, I noticed the following error in the default log:
msprobe[10199]: General Error: storeutil_getpathinfo(/export/mail) return (Value too large for defined data type)
my store partition is in a SAN and the size is 4T.This is a known problem when you have such a large partition size.
bug #6539123 - "msprobe has problems with very large disk partitions"
The fix for this is available in the latest MS6.2 point-patch (125813). You will need to contact Sun Support to get a copy of this patch as we don't release point-patches publicly.
I will set the store.dbtmpdir as you sugested. Please note you need to restart the store for this change to take affect e.g.
    ./stop-msg ; ./start-msg

    Hi,
    It seems that the audit log mechanism is activated, at your system. But, if you didn't set the parameter DIR_AUDIT, audit log will be created under "/usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/log", not "data" folder. You can check its default value on RZ11. Revise the parameters, below;
    DIR_AUDIT = <path>
    FN_AUDIT = audit_++++++++.AUD
    rsau/enable = 1
    rsau/max_diskspace/local = <SizeOfFile>

  • Mdworker saturating the system.log file

    Hi,
i have a problem on my late 2010 MBA, running 10.6.8. Frequently, the fan goes frantic, and it appears it is linked to mdworker running over and over again. It seems to be doing that when the vpn from the company is running (Juniper through Secure App Manager).
I checked the system.log file and it is 2.63Go for the past 5 days! Mostly filled with
Jan  3 08:45:39 Puss mdworker[59604]: socket(PF_ROUTE) failed: Operation not permitted
    Jan  3 08:45:39 Puss sandboxd[59747]: mdworker(59604) deny system-socket
    Jan  3 08:45:39 Puss sandboxd[59747]: mdworker(59604) deny network-outbound /private/var/run/mDNSResponder
(repeated 500 times and over, and eventually:
    Jan  3 08:45:39: --- last message repeated 1 time ---
Jan  3 08:45:39 Puss mdworker[59604]: socket(PF_ROUTE) failed: Operation not permitted
    Jan  3 08:45:39 Puss sandboxd[59747]: mdworker(59604) deny system-socket
    Jan  3 08:45:39 Puss com.apple.launchd[1] (0x100101ea0.mach_init.mdworker[59604]): Exited with exit code: 1
Can the vpn really have an influence on Spotlight? What is spotlight trying to index and why is it denied?
Eventually, i may be dreaming, but it seems that something is chewing up my SSD space. Without adding much files, it feels like free space is going down.
    Thanks for any help.

I solved the problem by adding the hidden '/private' directory on the harddisk to the places that spotlight is forbidden to index (in the systems preference pane -> Spotlight ->Privacy)
You have drag the '/private' folder into the locations box.
You may have to install something like 'secrets' to show hidden folders in the finder.
    (see here: https://code.google.com/p/blacktree-secrets/wiki/Help )

  • WebLogic 10.3.2.0 hanging at startup after "The server log file is opened."

    Hi,
A WebLogic 10.3.2.0 server is hanging at startup. There are no error messages. The last command in the startup window is:
"The server log file <log file dest> is opened. All server side log events will be written to this file."
I think the next line should be:
"Security initializing using security realm realm."
Any ideas on what could be the issue? For instance what resources should be accessed at that point of time? There is sufficient space left on the (virtual machine) disk. The VM configured with 8GB memory. Could it be performance related still?

  • Warnings in the Upgrade Log file for OBIEE 11G from 10G

    Hi,
I am new to OBI 11g.
I have installed simple type OBI 11g (version - 11.1.1.5.0) on a single server(Windows 2003, RAM-4GB,CPU-2.8GHz Dual Core ). I used upgrade assistant to upgrade the RPD & Webcat from 10.1.3.4.1 version to 11g, but I got about 50K warnings in the upgarde log file for the web catalog. They were basically 2 types as below -
    1. [2012-02-24T13:17:48.255-05:00] [BIEE] [WARNING] [] [upgrade.BIEE] [tid: 14] [ecid: 0000JMk1k3lDkZKcyToYpk1FHuer000005,0] Invalid columnID reference 'c10' in views!
Does someone know this warning and if this requires a fix or it would not impact any reports or dashboards? This error is about 25K times in the upgrade log file.
    2. [2012-02-24T12:20:04.162-05:00] [BIEE] [WARNING] [] [upgrade.BIEE] [tid: 14] [ecid: 0000JMk1k3lDkZKcyToYpk1FHuer000005,0] Removed the following node from the element 'view': [[
    <saw:selector xmlns:saw="com.siebel.analytics.web/report/v1.1" columnID="c20" prompt="true"><saw:choice type="column" formula="&quot;- Year&quot;.&quot;MVSR Doses R12M&quot;"><saw:tableHeading><saw:caption><saw:text>Month</saw:text></saw:caption></saw:tableHeading><saw:columnHeading><saw:caption><saw:text>Doses</saw:text></saw:caption></saw:columnHeading></saw:choice><saw:choice type="column" formula="&quot;- Year&quot;.&quot;MVSR Doses YTD&quot;-&quot;- Year&quot;.&quot;MVSR Doses Prior YTD&quot;"><saw:tableHeading><saw:caption><saw:text>Year</saw:text></saw:caption></saw:tableHeading><saw:columnHeading><saw:caption><saw:text>YTD Dose Volume Change</saw:text></saw:caption></saw:columnHeading></saw:choice></saw:selector>
I have checked this error on Oracle support web and it says that this warning is fine as there have been some features in 10G that would not be in the OBI 11G and are not required. I am still not convinced why there should be any warning for this type of issue.
Please let me know if someone has faced these warnings in when doing the upgrade of the 10g RPD and Webcat to 11g together.
Just as note, the services start fine and I could login to the application with users and see the dashboards and reports although I did not check all the dashboards and reports as this is a POC before doing the actual upgrade.

    Hi
Can you please refer me to the links on oracle web support which explained that these warnings are ok and can be ignored. We are also facing the same issue.
    Thanks in advance.

  • File system task - Move file issue, skip the current log file thats open by another process - IIS logs

    Hi,
I have created a package to move IIS log files from their source directory to another directory called processing. However, when the package tries to move the current log file it errors because the file is in use by another process (by IIS as its still writing
to it). I would like the package to just ignore the "in-use" file and process the rest and show the package completing successfully. The file in use will be rolled by IIS at midnight and the file will be picked up by the next package run.
However, when the file is rolled and becomes free a new log file is created which will be marked as "in-use"...... which should be ignored at the next run.
Is there some way that I can tell the file system task to ignore in use files or add an event handler to do the same sort of thing?
    Any assistance is appreciated

    Hi Arthur,
    Thank you for your reply.
I have resolved the issue with the following example:
    http://www.timmitchell.net/post/2010/08/23/ssis-conditional-file-processing-in-a-foreach-loop/
What I realised was that I needed to just ignore the current log file which gets created daily, so using the above example (and changing the last written date to created date) I am able to ignore/skip the log thats in use.

it seems to be a trouble with server performance pack. Try to DISABLE performance pack on your server and restart (unckeck "Native IO Enabled" on your domain"). You can also found some suggestions on http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/messages/Socket.html (check for "BEA-000414" message).

I am facing a problem with Oracle database, which is related to archivelogs.
Our development database is running in archivelog mode, but we don't have backups scheduled and have no recovery catalog.
When the database was in running condition, disk got full, so some archivelogs were deleted manually.
After this they restarted the DB, and now DB is not coming up. Errors are as follows:
    SQL> startup

    Hi,
Archive log files are the copies of redolog files. As redo log files are circularly overwritten, oracle generates archive log file of the corresponding redo logfiles being overwritten. So if you have a backup that dates back to 10 am in the morning and if your database creashed at 3 pm,you cannot use the redo log files alone as they have incomplete information. To completely recover the database upto 3 pm,you need archive log files generated between 10 am to 3 pm. In your case since you are missing one archive log file, you cannot perform complete recovery and hence would suffer data loss.

  • The event log file is full

    Hi All
In Message monitoring(RWB) in  adapter engine i am getting the following error
SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: Server was unable to process request. ---> The event log file is full
Can any one suggest me what might be the problem
    Thanks

this is because of a problem at the WS server (it might mostly be a windows server).
You can request the WS team to have a look into this issue. it is not a PI problem.

  • Where are the Adapter Log Files?

    Hello All,
I have an message that just isn't being loaded by the receiving business system and I'd like to examine the receivers log files for additional details to help me debug the problem.  I don't know where to look yet.  Perhaps the group can offer it's collective advice.
Here's the details of the problem I'm tackling.....
I have a 3rd party system that's trying to send a purchase requisition to an SAP Business System via XI.  The message is received by XI correctly.  XI correctly performs the transformation and identifies the message interface and selects correct receiver for the message.  XI communicates with the receiving business system via the appropriate communication channel.
The message "fails" in the receiving system with the following error:
HTTP server code 500 reason Internal Server Exception explanation Error parsing of SOAP header.
That's not particularly enlighting?  What exactly about the SOAP header didn't the receiving system like?  Perhaps if I could examine a log file on the receiving system, I could figure out what was preventing the message from being loaded.
A review of TCode SM21 and ST22 on the receiving system - show no errors
The message is being sent to an HTTP receiver channel on an SAP Business System.  The URL being posted to looks something like this: http://host:port/sap/xi/engine?type=receiver
That's the URL for the local integration engine's pipeline on the receiving SAP business system, right?  SXMB_MONI on the receiving system doesn't show an errors because the SOAP header could not be interpreted.  What other log files would I examine on the receiver system to see an error in message parsing?
Thanks for your help!  Points will be gladly awarded

    Hi,
You can look into the Message Display Tool.
    <b>http://server:javaport/MessagingSystem/monitor/montior.jsp</b>
This link will lead you to see the entire SOAP message that is actually sent out of XI and received by XI . You can also see the Adapter Log on this link.

  • EP log type INFO not written to the portal.log file

All the log.info (where log is of type PortalRuntime Logger) statements in my code are not written  to the portal.log file.
I have configured the portal_logger to log ALL but it seems to log only the FATAL and WARNING messages and not the INFO ones.I am on EP6 SP2
    Thanks
    Sid

    Let me rephrase my question.
In the portal logs configuration (Sys Adm - Monitoring - Logging Console - portal_logger ) if you select ALL, should it not log messages of all types ( ERROR WARNING INFO )? When I select ALL for the portal_logger the portal.log doesn't display the log messages of type INFO (only the once of type ERROR or WARNING).
