Repeating Artists Problem

in the Artists menu of my iPod, it shows some artists on my ipod twice. i noticed that it only shows repeating artists for artists who have an album that has another artists name (i.e. a CD by queen, which has Under Pressure by David Bowie & Queen). i've found that the only solution is to rename the artist. i've tried what all of the following websites suggest, but none of them worked for me:

Well, thanks for trying, Jeff, but that didn't work. Neither did restoring my iPod.
I have noticed that the problem seems to affect artists who have too many album titles to fit on the screen without scrolling down to see the bottom ones. Artists with only 3 or 4 album titles seem to be unaffected. I don't know if this is the cause or just a coincidence.
Guess I'll just keep working on it.

AP 1300 in repeater mode problem

I have a 1300 workin as root and second 1300 that works fine as non-root, but cannot work as repeater(association problem). Also some of the commands in 1300 guide are missing from real 1300 IOS.The IOS is 12.4 What could be the problem?

I stand corrected - but if you want to use the AP as a repeater - you need to set an infrastrcuture SSID. The AP needs to know which SSID to associate on when there is more that one SSID

Itunes repeats artist in song name - odd and aggravating

when i import mp3s into my library, on about half of what i put in, the artist name is repeated in the song name slot and if i put the songs straight to my ipod, then the same thing is on there, so what i am left with is a track list where all i can see really is the artist name as the name of all the songs...
the strange thing, is that when i play the song in itunes, or even just right click, and select get info, the artist name disappears and the track is named correctly, just for that track....
anyone even understand what i am saying here? i imagine there is some easy fix, im just not getting it

I figured I was not quite clear enough. I understand that the problem is strange and maybe not believable or something like that. I am hoping someone else has had the same problem, but I couldn't find it by searching these forums.
What i get is this:
Title: The Beatles - I Want to Hold Your Hand
Artist: The Beatles
So when that song is put on to my ipod on the song title line, I have the scroll of "The Beatles - I Want to Hold Your Hand" and when I view the tracklist of an album on my ipod, I usually can't even see the song name because each song name starts with "The Beatles - "
understand now why that is not good now?
I understand completely how to use itunes. When I right click on the song in itues and click get info, seemingly magically, the song title corrects it self, the artist name disappears and is left with just "I Want to Hold Your Hand."
So, when I put 100 albums into my ipod, if I want, i can go through each song, and click on get info, which removes the Artist name from the song title field.
But this is a huge pain in the ***.
my ipod is a 2nd gen, I have been using itunes with it since then, this problem only started about 6 months ago with one of the updates i think.
any ideas?

How to fix sorting artist problems?

Hey, I need some help here.
So I got a MacBook Air and synced it with my iPhone 5s, I lost all my iPhone music and started adding them over again but I noticed something which is frustrating to me. For example:
Artist: A Day To Remember
When I transfer it to my iPhone, I open the app and it is sorted only as "Day To Remember" even when in the iPhone Music Library in my Mac it's listed as "A Day To Remember", after B's.
Same happens with some artists that start with THE.
I don't understand what's going on and fixing the tags in the iPhone music library is useless. And now the Mac library is not solving the problem either (Already tried checking and fixing the album artist and "sort as" types and still no response.)
Does anyone know the source to this issue?

There are actually several workarounds for this:
You can manually override the automatically-generated sort values - so if you want albums by The Beatles to sort by "T" rather than "B" you can enter "The Beatles" in the Sort Artist field
turingtest2 has created a VBScript that will do this automatically for a range of selected items - see the UnAutoSort script on this page.
If you're feeling really adventurous, you can modify iTunes' behavior for sort names by editing the appropriate version of the SortPrefixes.plist file - depending on your versions of Windows/iTunes this will be in C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\en.lproj or C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\en.lproj (for US English), or the relevant folder in iTunes Resources for other languages. Note that any changes here will need to be repeated after every iTunes update as the file is reset to its default values by the installation process.
(Edit: obviously the references above are for Windows, I'm not sure whether there's a Mac equivalent of turingtest2's script but editing the SortPrefixes.plist file will work on Mac as well, allowing for variations in iTunes' folder structures).

Repeating Frame Problem - please guide

Dear Gurus,
I am developing a report in reports 6i. The structure of report is something like this.
M1
R1
f1
f2
R2
M1 is a fixed frame containing all other elements. R1 is repeating frame containing
2 fields and one repeating frame.
Now while printing records of R2 overflow to next logical page. that's fine but space of f1 and f2 also get repeated on to next page.
To give an analogy :-
Purchase Order Report
po number - f1
supplier - f2
po lines -r2
next page
empty space present ( equal to the required fields r1 and r2 )
po_lines
Now point is i want the Po lines to continue without the space for fileds for f1 and f2 repeating.
and yes i kept vertical elasticity for M1,R1 and R2 as variable.
How can i solve it.
please guide.

Print Object on property it is "First Page". the structure is like

Problem is when r2 overflows to next page, the space for f1 and f2 is also there on next page. What i want is content of r2 should come at the start of the page rather than at the location where its fixed when it's overflowing to next page.

Repeating frame problem

Hi,
I've Matri with group report which prints 'region' level data in Repeating frame (down).
But, for the Last region of the report, the report is prinitng twice the data. I observed this problem when I have more than one 'region' level data and then for the last region data in that.
( means, if there is only one region data, it's not priniting twice, rather priniting fine).
Please suggest anything on this..urgent a bit..

Do one thing, place a group frame around repeating frame , sure it must be of size to occupy 3 or more reocrds generated by query. Below this group frame , place additional fields you want to appear below . Remember to keep vertical and horizontal elasticity fixed for this group frame.

"Sort Artist" Problem

When browsing artists (Ctrl+B) in iTunes, "Jay-Z" and "Jay-Z Ft. MJB" sort different, even thought they both have the same album artist. When selecting "Jay-Z Ft. MJB" only one song appears.
So I tried entering Jay-Z as "Sort Artist" for all songs in album. But as "Jay-Z Ft. MJB" is the artist for the first song on the album, all songs by Jay-Z sort as "Jay-Z Ft. MJB" in the browser (Ctrl+B).
Why?

Ah, you've hit upon a problem with iTunes' sorting, although not really iTunes fault.
If you have tracks with different artists but all with the same Sort Artist, iTunes cannot reliably know which of those Artists ought to appear as the Artist name in the browser. So it uses the Artist tag of the first track (with this Sort Artist) that was added to the Library, which is not always correct.
So in your situation, drag the first track out onto the desktop and delete it from iTunes completely (select move file to Trash). You will now see that the browser displays the Artist name you want. Then drag that track back from the desktop and it will be added to the Library and be a part of that album again, but as it was added later, the browser does not use its Artist tag and still uses the Artist name from the other (now earlier) tracks.
Sometimes when there's lots of different artists on the tracks of an album (but it's not a compilation) you may have to delete several tracks and re-add them in this way to get everything the way you want, but in my experience, it does then stick, i.e. it doesn't forget and start using one of the other Artist names for browser display. Of course, Apple may change iTunes...

Large Repeating Frame Problem

Dear All:
My problem is as below:
I need to draw a large repeating frame ( sized 8 inches x 38 inches) and print it out using A4 paper (sized approximately 8.5 inches x 11 inches) via PDF format in Acrobat Reader. The problem is the report print out to be so small in order to fit the A4 size.
Is there anyway to fix the Layout Model Body Section as A4 size and at the same time include a repeating frame in the report body which sized larger than the layout body?

Check the "Horizontal Panels per Page" property, in the "Main Section" node of "Layout Object" (in the Object Navigator window).
I believe this will solve your problem.

Do you mean multiple entries for what appears to be the same artist?
Make sure they are all spelt in an identical manner, even an extra space that you might not notice can make a difference. I have found instances where the spacebar has created extra stop at the end of the line. The quickest way is to sort your iTunes library by artist to bring your tracks together. Click on the first track by your artist say "Nirvana", hold down the shift key and click on the last track in the list, this will highlight all in between. Right click on the list and choose Get Info, you get a dialogue box asking if you want to update multiple items, click Yes and then the Info tab. Overtype the artist name then click ok and this will ensure the whole selection is identical. Once you've done this connect your iPod, if you are updating automatically it will pick up the changes. If you are updating manually follow the instructions above with the iPod connected and carry out the changes directly on the iPod's song list.

Browse Albums by Artist problem

? Hello everyone, I've had a quick search and couldn't find the answer so here goes. I have a Zen 32GB player which I only use for music. All of my albums are sync'd with WMP without any problem, however.... when browsing on the player, if i search by aritist and then by album I find that the album does not contain all the tracks. This happens where another artist has contributed on the track, or if the track is a cover version. Is there a way I can browse albums by artist properly (i.e. they way anyone would search for an album in the real world)?and see all the tracks correctly?Its really infuriating.

I think this will all come down to the tags. I've never seen a technical discussion of exactly which tags the Zen pays attention to and how it resolves ambiguities (say when there is both an "Album Artist" and "Artist" tag).
You can probably work out a decent hypothesis on your own by comparing the tags of songs that end up in the album vs ones that drop off. How are the multiple artists encoded in the tags? For MP3 tags the character forward-slash ( "/" ) gets special treatment as a magic field separator in some tags (which at times can be awkward). I don't know if the Zen honors that, though.

Repeating dates problem

iphone needs a feature to make dates repeatable on the day of the month they fall on despite what numeric number they might have. An example I am talking about is you can not program your phone to alert you on mothers day because mothers day is celibrated on the second sunday of May. Another example is you can not program your phone you alert you that you need to pay rent/morgage on the last day of the month because some months have 30 days some have 31, 29, 28...

Repeat Region Problem in DW CS4

I'm working on a site for a non-profit and am having weird problems displaying a repeat region. Thusly..
If I display one record in a table row, it works perfectly.

However, the moment I put a repeat region in, instead of getting this:

A 588K image may not ever make it through the vetting process.
Looking at your linked page, I can see that you have applied the repeat region around the cells instead of around the row. Manually move your VBScript so that it wraps the leading <tr> and the trailing </tr>.

SQL repeating rows Problem

Please can anyone help.
I have a search where i search for employee by firstname or
lastname or both columns. It also searches other columns but my
problem is around the firstname and lastname.
When i have the Firstname ticked it displays the correct
amount of rows.
When i have the Surname ticked it also displays the correct
amout of rows.
When both are ticked it repeats the results by the amount of
sites.
Now i guess its something to do with the table join and the
OR part of the SQL.
Any help would be appreciated.

Repeat option problem

I've never had this problem before and wondered it's normal. I use the arrow keys (not on the numeric pad) to go back to the beginning of a song and it has always until now gone back to the same song. (I keep it on repeat 1) now it's going to either the next song or the one before it. I haven't touched the settings at all except for the repeat option? Any ideas?

this happens when some support package has been newly implemented in your system..or your
system is upgraded .. this not a problem .. in this case your repeat option wont work .. but if go
to the Ip through mainatin varaint .. you can find that ip is running your name ...and the step before your Ip will trun yellow.. in case once your Ip is done ..trigger the next step through ..program RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH..and status green "G" .. if it doest happen in once then first try status "R' with this program and then again "G" ...,or you can copy the chain ..
It happened with us also .
