Repeating Event Viewer;event 26226,Chkdsk
Hey,,
I installed Visual Studio 2013 for the first time just to see if I would be even somewhat capable of handling or understanding it. As I began exploring the features, I triggered the "event viewer". It reported "Event
26226 Chkdsk". Just before I installed the Visual Studio I ran analysis and clean-up of C and D drives. Nothing eventful there, regained about 1.75 GB of space then moved on. The event viewer keeps reproducing itself in its entirety non-stop unless another
program starts running, then it reports that event, then starts again. The same info over and over. I can't find the stop switch, Can someone please help?
Thanks

Hi EWAGOSIA,
After all, I am supposing this is an information or warning level event, does your computer have symptoms such like frequently hanging, random freezing or blue screen? If not so I guess it's nothing to worry about.
I still think it is caused by bad compatibility of some applications or drivers. You could start with update your video driver and DirectX.
If the error still persists update all device drivers and keep your system up to date for good measure.

I have 2 calendars set up for my work schedule, a "night shift" and "day shift" calendar. I've set up repeating events fro Fri/Sat/Sun 3-11pm "night shifts" and Mon/Tues 7am-3pm "day shifts". But lets say for example that I swap shifts and instead of working nights on Saturday like I normally would, I am now working days. I want to change that in my calendar. When I go to change the event, if i change the TIME it asks if i want to change all event or ONLY this event. no problem....just this single event. but when i go to change the event from the "night shift" calendar to the "day shift" calendar, it changes ALL the repeating events, and not just that one single event. can anyone help with this??? am i doing something wrong? is there a way to do this or not with the new iCal program??? i used to do this and never had any problems. Thank you!
You need to follow iPhoto terms since we only know what you tell us
what are you calling folders - in iPhoto folders can not hold photos - albums hold photos and folders hold albums or other folders
The basic default view of photo is by event (iPhoto '08 and later)
Exactly what you you trying to do?

Hello, I am having trouble with one peculiar event type in iCal.
I sync a Palm with iCal via Mark/Space. Fairly trouble-free. However, I have noticed one small bug.
My work schedule repeats over two consecutive days and has different start times every second day. For example, on Monday I work 7:00am -3:00pm, same on Tuesday. But Wednesday and Thursday it's 3:00pm-11:00pm, etc. The third rotation is 11:00 pm and ends at 7:00am. I notice that iCal understands the first two sets (I enter one and make it a "repeating event, end on <the following day>), but for the overnight shift, it only displays the first of the two. That second overnight shift does not show up in any view: day, week, or month. My Palm does display it perfectly. Is this iCal not playing nice with events that span midnight?
Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.5)
Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.5)Interesting... I've reset my Mark/Space and effectively had the handheld overwrite the iCal and restored all of my calandars. One problem solved. My first problem, the one about the second overnight event, persisted.
I opened iCal, clicked on the first overnight event, then clicked on the day (xx) of the "end on date" 3/xx/06. Just clicking on this one thing made the second overnight event suddenly appear. I hadn't even changed the day, I just highlighted it. I repeated this for each of the buggy overnight events and it fixed each one. -
Repeat events are not deleted...
Does anyone know how to remove the repeated event in iCal especially after it has been edited to be an item designated as "all future events"?
I attempted to delete several events that were assigned as repeating by going to the original event and editing the occurrance. When prompted I clicked the "all future events" button to apply it to all of them but there are still events showing up in iCal. Very frustrating!Hi Janiv,
Base on my experience, Events will be deleted after retention period which is by default 1 day and this can be configured up to 7 days. It seems that user cannot delete the event data until the data is expired.

Can I disable "changing a repeating event" dialog in Yosemite calendar?
Can I edit a repeating event without invoking the "You are changing a repeating event" dialogue that allows me to change only one event or all future events? I've tried several modifier keys which haven't suppressed the dialogue.
Ideally a single use rather global change is preferable as the function is often useful.Update: There is one workaround I found. Click here to view my video demonstrating how this is done.
Explanation: If there are a series of events to select all at once, this can be done as long as they are within a 42 day range and are grouped under one calendar or a series of calendars. All you have to do is go to the month view, make sure the calendars are visible and type ⌘+A. However, any calendars users do not wish to select must be temporarily hidden. -
I have accepted iCal invitations with repeating events and they have since been deleted from the iCal on my Mac but won't delete from my iPhone. Help
I experienced this issue as well.
Background:
I had opened an ICS attachment for a repeating event on my iPhone, which added the item to my phone's calendar. I did not have the option to delete the calendar entry from my phone, and the item did not appear on the calendar on my Mac. My phone is currently running iOS 7 (but the problem began quite awhile ago; I don't recall which version of iOS was installed when it started).
Solution (summary):
Create a new calendar, move the items that you wish to delete to the new calendar, then delete the new calendar
Solution (detailed steps):
Create a new calendar
On your phone, open the calendar app
Tap the "Calendars" option at the bottom of the screen
Tap the "Edit" button in the top left corner
Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap the "Add Calendar..." option
Give your new calendar a good name, such as "Delete me"
Tap "Done" in the top right corner to save the new calendar
Tap "Done" in the top left corner to finish editing the list of calendars
Tap "Done" to exit the list of calendars
Assign all calendar entries that you wish to delete to the calendar you created in step 1
Tap a calendar entry that you wish to delete
Tap the "Edit" button in the top right corner
Scroll down until you see the Calendar field (on an iPhone or iPod it's usually just below the bottom of the screen), then tap the Calendar field to bring up the list of available calendars
Tap the name of the calendar that you created in step 1 (e.g. "Delete me"); the screen should return to the main calendar entry page
Tap "Done" in the top right corner of the screen. You may need to then tap the "< Day" button on the top left of the screen to return to the main calendar view
Repeat the instructions in step 2 for each of the calendar entries that you wish to delete
Delete the calendar that you created in step 2 (this will delete all calendar entries assigned to this calendar)
From the main screen in the calendar app, tap the "Calendars" option at the bottom of the screen
Tap the "Edit" button in the top left corner
Tap the entry for the calendar that you created in step 2 (e.g. "Delete me")
Scroll to the bottom of the scren and tap the "Delete Calendar" option. You should be prompted with a warning that explains that "All events associated with this calendar will also be deleted."
If you're sure that the only items on this calendar are items that you wish to delete, tap the "Delete Calendar" button
Tap "Done" in the top right corner to exit the Edit Calendars screen
Tap "Done" to exit the list of calendars. You should now be back at the main view of the calendars app
Rejoice, your pesky repeating calendar events have been deleted
At this point all of the items that you assigned to the deleted calendar should be gone
Repeat the steps above for any entries that you missed

High school block schedule repeating events
I'm a high school teacher looking forward to the upcoming fall schedule. I teach at a school where even period and odd period classes are taught on alternate days and I teach only odd schedule classes. So, one week the class is taught on Mon, Wed, Fri and the next week it is Tu and Th except for weeks that have holidays. What is the best way to use repeating events and make up the schedule for this semester (ending 1/28/08 so I also know at a glance what days I'm available to substitute for other instructors?

Deleting a single instance of a repeating event deletes the series
Has anyone noticed that deleting a single instance of a repeating event (e.g. deleting tomorrow's occurrence of a regular, weekly meeting) deletes the entire series? This is when using the calendar via the iCloud.com website. I've had this happen at least 3 times.
Configuration:
Ubuntu Linux 10.10
Google Chrome 12.0.742.91
AndrewThis happens without iCloud when you sync your calendar to MS Outlook/Exchange - it always deletes the whole series and makes it so I can never delete items from iPhone or iPad. IOS calendar is pretty lousy - won't let you edit things like the reminder time or location of the meeting, etc. when it comes through sync with Outlook/Exchange.
Wish Apple would actually make their calendar app useful or let a third party release a better one. Same goes for managing Tasks. E-mail is pretty good, but Calendar and Task management is lousy. And we don't even get to rate these apps like we do 3rd party apps. -
Is there any way to customize a repeat event in iCal on my iPad?
On my old MacBook, I was able to customize a repeat event, I.e., plan a recurring event for the first Thursday of every month, as opposed to the first of every month. I am attempting to switch to my new iPad, and cannot seem to find the function in iCal where I can do this. Is there a way of doing this on the iPad? Or is the iPad less useful in this way too?
You can't customize events like you can in iCal on the Mac - so using your words, I would say that the iPad is less useful in that regard.

If I have a repeating event in iCal, can I attach different docs, pdfs, etc., do the events. I am entering lessonplans and want each date to have an attachment.
Yes. As you edit each one, you will get a dialog asking whether you want to change all or just the current one.

How do you set repeat events for a given day of the week
How do you set a repeat event in calender for a given day of the month. Expample 3rd Wednesday each month?
Have you read the app store guidelines yet?
App Store Review Guidelines:
http://developer.apple.com/appstore/resources/approval/guidelines.html
Don't go on what you've seen in the store - for every example you spot, there are hundreds that didn't make it in.
As well, Apple is tightening up on reviews, etc.
Loads of discussion on this in the iOS Dev Forums, BTW -
ICal and Calendar sync one week apart for Repeating events
Hi,
First Post here. Look forward to sticking around. I have been reading the forum avidly since I received my iphone 3g on July 11th.
So here is the issue: It is in regards to events that I created on my iphone that are scheduled to repeat each week, but then end on a certain day. This works perfectly fine in the iphone so far, but when it syncs with iCal it always ends one week earlier than on the iphone. The iphone will remain the proper date, whereas iCal ends one week early.
I won't go on longer, but has anyone else had this issue? Maybe you should double check your dates if you have any repeated events scheduled in your phone, and compare them with iCal to double check they are right.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
CamI guess I should have added that with Outlook, I am connect to Exchange.

I am unable to cut repeat events on iCal.
When I try to cut repeat events from iCal they either go and re-appear or just don't go at all, they then keep repeating more often finsihing with the same event up to 10 or more times on the day.
The iPhone OS does not have any copy and paste functionality in it. Apple is well aware of this but they believed that there were many more important features to implement before it.
However, the most recent version of the developer kit has references to cut and paste, so we may see that feature when iPhone 2.1 (as opposed to 2.01) is released. -
Problems with Repeating Events on Palm and iCal
Hi,
I'm having a problem with daily-repeating events entered into either my Palm or iCal. When I put events in my palm and sync them to iCal, the iCal calendars look right, but then the Palm events become truncated,i.e. only the first day of daily event will be visible. If I do nothing but just sync again, the events in iCal become weirdly duplicated, i.e. if an event had two repeats, the "original" occurrance will be there, along with a second, starting on next day of the series, lasting for the same number of repeats. Is there any way to make one calendar the overwriting calendar while using iSync? Or do you know of some other fix? This problem doesn't seem to affect other repeating events, either monthly or yearly.
Thanks
20" iMac with Intel Mac OS X (10.4.10) 500 GB HD, 2GB RAM 60GB Video iPodAs I just posted in another thread, there are a whole series of 'representation disconnects' between the Palm calendaring application and iCal.
While this article— iSync: About Syncing Recurrent Events Between iCal and Palm OS Based Devices—would lead to you believe that iSync is primarily the issue, it's not: this behavior occurs primarily because of the differences between the calendaring programs in each environment, and only secondarily because of the manner in which records are pushed and pulled by the synchronization framework.
iSync itself is simply another compliant sync client, and there is unfortunately no workaround for the issues delineated in the article.
