Repeating the last adjustment settings

I'm using Photoshop CS4. In previous versions, you could hold down Alt while choosing an adjustment, such as Levels -- Instead of the default settings for the dialog, you would automatically get the same adjustment settings that were used the last time (as long as Photoshop had not been closed and reopened).
Can the same thing be done with the Adjustments panel -- click on an adjustment and get the last settings that were used? I tried the old Alt-Click shortcut and that didn't work.

As far as I know that only works when you did a direct edit on the layer you were working on - Levels, Curves, H/S, etc. - without using an Adjustment Layer. It's the same behavior in CS2 and 3 also.

I have imported my pictures (a complete folder) into Lightroom, made all the adjustments, exported the jpegs... great! Now I want to backup my folder and the RAW adjustment settings I have made.
But where are all the adjustment settings kept, and can I backup those settings for later retrieval with my original RAW files?

 Your adjusted files may be residing elsewhere. So, select one RAW image on which you are sure you've edited, and then reveal it in the Finder or the Windows equivalent. Look around there; there certainly should be .xmp files if you've run Export xmp on that folder.
 
 Another neat way, for me, anyway, is to Convert all the edited RAW files to DNG; then they'll contain the edits within the file, as currently to JPEGs, TIFFs, and PSD files.

Adobe Reader is "forgetting" the last view settings

Hello, I'm having a small problem with Adobe Reader X. I checked the "Remember last view settings" option, and it's working fine, but the problem is that if I don't open the document for a few days, the document loses the information about the last page I was on. Is there anything that can be done about this? I'm using Windows 7, but this also happened in Windows XP and with previous versions of Adobe Reader.

Are all the PDFs you read from a single source? The document author CAN (but probably shouldn't) override the default zoom, but you might be seeing that and it might be why nobody else is complaining.

Is there a short cut key/command to repeat the last action?

In excel Alt F4 (I think) repeats your last action. I can't find a similar command or short cut key in numbers. Can anyone help me?

Numbers is not a clone of Excel. I doesn't share the Microsoft philosophy which include every asked feature.

How to repeat the last 2 request via delta?

Hi,
I have loaded data into a DSO from R/3. After that I loaded further into an other DSO, but it was inconsistent and it could not have activated it. So the last 2 Request in the 2. DSO were bad, I set the request to "red", deleted them, and now I want to reload them again (from the change log table of the first DSO). When I make a delta repeat, the system loads only the last one request.
What should I do?

Hi Joe,
in such cases I do the following:
1. delete all requests you want to reload in the second DSO
2. reset the datamart status in the first DSO for the latest request by clicking on the "where used" button at the end of the line
3. reset the datamart status in the first DSO for the older request in the same way.
if there are more requests you have to do this for each request you want to reload. Attention: if there are requests which were activated together so they have the same activation request number (collum "PSA request number generated when request is activated") the datamart status will be reset for these requests in one step.
4. press the refresh button and check if the datamart status is reset for all requests you want to repeat.
5. load delta from first to second DSO. This delta will contain each request which is not marked with to "where used" icon. You can check this for your DTP in the monitor under header -> selections. There should be both requids (if you're usind old update rules you can check it also in RSMO under details -> databasis)

How to have the same adjustment settings for each photo?

Hi all,
Can anyone shed any light on this? When I click on a photo and I want to sharpen, noise reduce etc, I have to select these parameters to appear, I do the adjustments and then click on the next photo....
Now, I want to do DIFFERENT adjustments BUT use sharpen, noise reduction again, and it does not remember this, so I have to select these again... very annoying.
So, can I make sure that the same adjustment panels appear each and every time I click on the photo?? Hope this is clear!!

Enqueue/Dequeue is repeating the last queued element

Hello
I am trying to aquire data from a camera at 256fps in one for loop, enqueueing the data after each frame is acquired. A seperate while loop is supposed to dequeue each image and stream it to a binary file, acheiving the maximum imaging speed possible by seperating the data acquisition from the saving routine.
However, this is not happening. The files are being queued and dequeued correctly UNTIL the acquisition for loop reaches completion (for example after 500 cycles) at which point the dequeue VI stops passing successive images to the binary write VI and just sends the last dequeued image over and over again until 500 images have been written to the binary file.
Can anyone suggest why this might be happening?

The queue approach is still the best architecture for your
application. Instead of converting the image to an array, have you tried
flattening each image to a string and passing this into the que?
You can then un-flatten from the string in the non-deterministic loop.

Is there any way to repeat the last action on a new selection?

I'm playing with Pages to see if I can use it instead of Word. I'm very expert with Word, just starting with Pages. Like some things, don't like some, but I think it's worth continuing to play with it to see if it will work for me. One problem I've been having is repeating an action. In Word, if you do something (in the particular situation I just had, it was deleting a row in a table), and then click on another place and do command-Y, it repeats what you did. Similarly, if you format a word as bold, say, and then select another word and do command-Y the second word will also be made bold. I realize the latter can be done in pages by selecting "emphasis" style for the second word, but I couldn't figure out any work-around for deleting the table rows (I tried selecting several non-adjacent rows, but "delete row" was greyed out on the actions menu). Any way to do this that I've missed?

Thanks anyway. I'm sorry that Apple didn't include a "repeat" keyboard shortcut - going to the Inspector and then the actions wheel and then "delete row" time after time wasn't fun.
I'm afraid I failed to communicate well about outline format - I didn't mean a bulleted or numbered list, I do know how to do that, but rather making a single character (or in my particular interest a symbol, the diamond and heart suit symbols) appear in outline text format. You can do it by going to format->font->outline, but if I want to do it for several occurrences of the same thing (or a few different things), it's not much fun to do it that way. But maybe I can define a character format that's outline and that will work. Still would prefer to have a keyboard shortcut to apply the character format though.
Incidentally, while I'm talking about diamonds and hearts, is there any way to change the amount of space that gets put in after the diamond and heart symbols if you insert them using Edit->Special Characters? I write a lot of documents that use those symbols and lines end up unevenly spaced because of the large amount of space below each symbol (I've figured out a partial work-around - I defined a style for "body after suit symbol" that is raised enough to get the line spacing right, but that only works when I want to have a hard return at the end of the line with the suit symbols, since if the lines wrap, both lines have to have the same paragraph formatting. This problem isn't really Pages related - I have the same difficult with Word .

Downloads repeat the last item requested instead of loading a new item

After downloading a document and printing it and then clearing from the download list, the second request for another document to be downloaded results in the first document being downloaded again.

Do both documents have the same name?
You can try to clear the browser cache and the Windows %temp% folder to see if that helps.

Getting the last settings of a filter

When you run a filter with executeAction you need to provide an ActionDescriptor. If this ActionDescriptor does not contain any filter parameters, then the default filter parameters are used when the filter is executed. I would like to provide an ActionDescriptor that contains the last used parameters of a certain filter.
Is it possible to retrieve the last used parameters of any filter somehow? If it possibe to get an ActionDescriptor containing these parameters with executeActionGet, how do I do it exactly?
Or is my only choice to save the ActionDescriptor that is returned by executeAction to a file? And then open it again and supply it to executeAction when running the same filter again?
When you manually run a filter from the Filter menu, Photoshop provides the last used parameters to the filter, so it should be possible somehow. The question is if it is possible to access that information through scripting.

As far as I can see you can only run a filter from a script
1. with settings of your own (by supplying them with an ActionDescriptor)
2. with its default settings (by supplying no settings in the ActionDescriptor)
It would be great if you could run a filter with its last used settings from a script without using a tedious workaround. If that is not possible the easy way, I will have to store these settings after a filter is executed and retireve and supply them when the filter is executed again.
When restarting Photoshop the last used settings of a filter, e.g. Gaussian Blur, are retained. So I guess they are stored somewhere, probably in the Photoshop Prefs file. So maybe they can be found by searching that file, but I would rather want to avoid that.

Get Valuation Type (BWTAR) of the last material movements (MM)

My requirement is to create a program to make negative adjustments to material stocks (using BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE). As incoming data I have the material along with the quantity to be adjusted. Plant (WERKS) and Storage location (LGORT) are fixed. If the adjustment quantity is inferior to the total stocks on all the batches (I'll get the values from MCHB table and sum them up - Batch and Valuation type in this cases are considered the same, so field CHARG = BWTAR), then I need to know which where the lastly adjusted valuation types, and then make the adjustments on that valuation types.
Which leads me to my question: How do I know which were the latest valuation types for a given movement (101 or 311 in this case) and material? Is the only option to search in tables MSEG/MKPF ordering by date (getting the latest material documents? Do I have other options?

But don't think your suggestion would work, because this batches are already created. Besides if I enter to MSEG table only with movement and batch as keys, i'll get thousands of records since this batches are not unique as in other cases.
I don't only need the latest batch, i need the latest batches till the quantity is
covered. Because the quantity to adjust can be greater than that of the latest batch.
I'll give you an example: suppose the actual stocks for a given material in a plant/stge.Loc. are like this:
Batch1 = 30,0
Batch2 = 30,0
Batch3 = 30,0
and they were entered in that order. So my program receives a negative adjustment of 45,0: I need to adjust Batch3 to 0,0 and Batch2 to 15,0.
The problem lies in: how do i know i need to adjust Batch3 first, then Batch2 (and go on till there's nothing to adjust)?

Windows 8 Freezes after last "Lenovo Settings Update" anytime the pointer goes to a corner

After the most recent "Lenovo Settings Update", my Windows 8 freezes for a few minutes (minimum of two) anytime the pointer hits one of the hot corners. The system also freezes for a couple of minutes or less when certain apps are started or the mouse clicks on certain apps. This is a repeatable error. I can restore the system to the setpoint previous to the "Lenovo Settings Update" and everything works fine. re-Install the update and the problem comes back. The system also freezes for 5-10 seconds when an e-mail message comes in and the notification appears. Also happens under other different circumstances but the worst is when the mouse pointer goes to any "Hot Corner". I can reset the system to the last restore point and have everything work fine but anytime I go to "Lenovo Settings", it forces the update which then creates this problem.
Has anyone else seen this issue? I have all the updates for Windows 8 and Lenovo installed including all new Bios updates that are published. The model is a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge S320u (otherwise known as the "Twist". The error is repeatable in all screen modes, tablet modes and multiple monitor modes.
For now I will go back to the latest restore point but would like to see the issue resolved.

I had the exact same issue with the same computer (Thinkpad Twist)! Am very happy to have come accross this page through a web search.
After installing some updates through Lenovo Update App (because of a message that critical updates are available on the Lenovo Support App from Startscreen), my whole system would freeze for about two minutes when moving the cursor over any corner. This is very troublesome not only because it effectively disables the Windows 8 "hot corners" (which I didn't use much anyway, preferring to launch the tasks thus accessible differently), but mostly because it is necessary at times to access the corners, notably to close any document, webpage or other instance of any program that was open in full screen (which usually all of my docs/programs are, considering the Twist's small screensize...).
Afer reading rbagnall's post I first tried uninstalling updates through the Lenovo Update center. But there, once installed, updates don't seem to be removable. Why Lenovo? You can look at the list of installed updates but not make any change. Now I have followed rbagnall's advice and restored my computer with a restore point, sufficiently far back, as I didn't know exactly which update caused this. It worked! Not exactly pleasant, because I had to reinstall some programs and change some settings again, but the problem got resolved.
I went further and tried to see which update causes this by installing them one by one and seeing when the problem appears. The culprit seems to be "Display Mode Orientation Update for Windows 8". One needs to install the "Lenovo Power Management Driver" with it (which is actually listed under optional updates, whereas the Display Mode update is shown as a critical one, but the former is selected automatically when the later is chosen, and one cannot unselect it, a message appears then that it is necessary for the other update). So it could be that one as well (haven't checked whether installing it without the Display Mode update creates the same problem). In any case, once these are installed, the problem appears.
I have now restored my PC again to the restore point, and haven't installed any Lenovo update, not even the other critical one, as I don't know what it's for (Critical patch to fix TVSU UTS issue - I haven't had this issue, and any web entries on this I found dated back to 2009). In the optional updates there is also a BIOS update, which I had installed previously, but I don't know what it's for either. If there is anything terribly useful in either (or other optional updates), please tell me.
For now I have uninstalled the Lenovo Support Startscreen App (which seems to be more annoying than helpful), and will refrain from updating any Lenovo drivers from now, which seems to do more harm than good (everything was working fine before the update)...

I do not use tabs... just windows... I have a mouse button programmed for that. It is really irritating to have to restart Firefox all the time and then open the history window because no warning was issued!

This is ridiculous. I've had this problems for years now and I'm finally walking away from Firefox. I use my keyboards more than my mouse, and how many times does your finger slip and hit Command Q instead of W. How come FF can't reset something as trivial as this? So many people are having problems with this?
Feels like FF has become too big, too slow and just not cooperative anymore. What a shame, I've been using Netscape/Firefox for 13 years. This is silly.
