Repeating tracks on multiple CDs

I burned a playlist under iTunes 8. 140 songs - so I needed to use multiple CDs (7). When I went to play them I discovered that the last 6 or 7 songs on each CD were repeated as the first 6 or 7 songs on the next CD - that happened for all 7 CDs.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?

    It is using the track number and not the sort order field.  The reason I have multiple cds in one alumn is because they are books on cd.

    Sorry for the typo my "b" key was not working correctly.

  • Multiple CDs Issue

    I have 60 songs that I have purchased from itunes with a total of 13.9 hours and 383.9 mb and when I click to burn them to a disk the message box says that the songs will not fit on one cd. It asks do you want create multiple cds? The choice is cancel or audio cds. When I click on audio cds nothing happens.

    As the tracks were purchased from the iTunes store they are protected, and as per Apple's suggested method, you can unprotected them by burning to Audio CDs (and then if you wish also reimporting them back in to iTunes as MP3s).
    As you want to play them in your car on a CD player you will need to unprotect them as above. Quite a few in car CD players can play MP3 disks but you have to unprotect them first via an AUDIO CD disk.
    iTunes is not clever enough to automatically split a selection of tracks on to multiple CDs so you will have to manually select a few at a time to burn to Audio CDs.

  • Audio Book with multiple CDs

    I am using windows XP and am new to using iPod. I bought an audio book. This audio book is in the form of multiple CDs and each CD contains multiple .wma files. I copied them to my Windows PC into different directories called "CD1", "CD2" etc. each containing multiple tracks - "Track 1.wma", "Track 2.wma" etc. etc.
    Obiously the track sequences do matter for the book to make sense. Now, how do I transfer these into my iPod (without loosing the track sequence) from my PC?
    Advice appreciated. Thanks

    Sir,
    were you able to obtain an answer to your question? I have the same problem and I am unable to determine how to load audio books from CDs that I own. The chapters are interleaved as they are loaded from one CD to the next and on to the Itunes library. Additionally, how do you get the files to the audio books section? I certainly wish documentation was better on this and other issues. Please let me know if you discover the solution to importing audio CD's. Thank you. [email protected]

  • Combining songs from multiple cds

    I was trying to make a "best of" selection of songs from a single artist but from multiple cds. After importing songs from each cd, how do I combine them into one. Also, after importing, is it possible to rearrange the song order? I can't seem to be able to. Please help.

    iTunes sees an album as any group of tracks with a distinct Album title and the same value for *Album Artist*. You can control track order using *Track Number* and *Disc Number*.

  • ITunes cannot get CD track names for CDs that were not imported with iTunes

    I have a number of WAV files and MP3 files that already have album information. I would like to erase that information and have it replaced using the "Get CD Track Names" function, but keep receiving an error message of "iTunes cannot get CD track names for CDs that were not imported with iTunes." Is there some way to strip the previous information and replace it with information that iTunes receives with the "Get CD Track Names" function?

    Programs like itunes use characteristics of the CD such as track duration and sequence to identify CDs. Potentially this could be modified in a very small manner (maybe even a millisecond) in converting to a different format so maybe itunes doesn't even want to try getting the information for other formats.
    You can certainly replace whatever information you wish by "get info" on a single or multiple selection of files and entering the data by hand.

  • Group Multiple CDs of album together in 11.0.3

    Does anyone know what the new iTunes feature of grouping multiple CDs of the same album together means? Is it fixing the problem where sometimes they don't? Does it allow CDs with the names [disc 1] and [disc 2] after them to be grouped together? I have been taking Albums of mutiple CDs and using the "disc" fields and that seems to work.
    I really dislike Apple's SCANT help on new features. I had to go dig through the (VASTLY) revamped view options to figure out where the ability to show album art in list view was hidden, and the help files have not been updated with the new mini view. A little more help would be nice Apple...

    Thank you for the picture Michael! I now know what is going on....
    NOTHING changed in terms of what it takes to group them together, as in, you still need them to be the same album titile, and you need to use the disc # and total disc count fields — the change is that now, instead of showing tracks 1-10 and then starting over with tracks 1-12 (for example) for disk 2, and having them all be one after another, it breaks it into each disc with a disc # and does it horizontally rather than vertically. What I mean by that is the following:
    Before, if you had 3 discs, that totaled 32 tracks. Disc one with 9, disc two with 11, and disc 3 with 12. What you'd have is two columns of 16 songs each, 1st column starting with 1-9, then 1-7. The right column would start with 8, go through 11, and then go 1-12. NOW what you get is 3 groupings, titled disc 1, 2 and 3, 1st one going 1-5 in column 1 and 6-9 in column 2. Second disc going 1-6 in column 1 and 7-11 in column 2, and the last one having two equal sized columns of 1-6 and 7-12.
    Also, Not sure I agree on defaulting to on, but unlike all the other checboxe in view options, this one is not also available by right clicking the column headers.
    Thanks for the help guys!

  • Why do I need multiple CDs?

    Here's the situation: I have a playlist that should fit on one CD. iTunes tells me it's 11 songs, 44 minutes, 60 MB. They're all mp3s. But, when I go to burn a CD, it tells me the playlist won't fit on one CD and that I need to use multiple CDs. Any ideas why this is happening?
    I should mention that the CD consists of a concerto movement, and then several different edited (trimmed) versions of that movement so I can skip directly to those moments in a classroom. Does that have anything to do with it? I've done this exact same thing before and never had this problem, though.
    Thanks for any help!

    As a teacher, you may not be able to spare $30 for a Quicktime Pro key, but you could use Quicktime Pro to convert the mp3 files to aiff, then burn all those to CD. No guarentee this would solve the problem, but it's the first thing I would try if it were me.
    There used to be a great free format conversion utility called SoundApp, but I can't find anywhere anymore. Maybe there's something else out there you can find on versiontracker.com
    An inelegant approach to try would be to burn the MP3s to several discs as iTunes insists. Then IMPORT the aiff files from those discs back into iTunes, create a playlist, and REburn it as one disc, if it will let you.
    How or where did the trimmed/edited versions of the files come from? Are you using iTunes to set the Start and Stop times on the songs? (Select the song, type "Command - I" then switch to Options and key in start and stop times....)
    A shot in the dark guess as to why the mp3s won't fit: Maybe the files are ultra compressed and when iTunes converts them to the less compressed aiff format for CDs, the file size is too big. I have no idea why this would be, but that's the nature of shot in the dark guesses.
    Good luck.

  • Bind repeating data to multiple fields

    I am a livecycle numpty and I need some help! I am developing a readonly report. This report is using sample xml for databinding. Within the xml I have a repeating group - example:
    <group>
         <groupItem>
              <addres>parp</address>
         </groupItem>
          <groupItem>
              <addres>parp</address>
    In my report I have two sections that need to reference this repeating data. One section works and the other doesn't. I've read that you can't bind repeating data to multiple fields. How do I get around around this? I can't seem to get the global binding to work (is this purely for user entered data???)
    Please help!
    Cheers,
    Rich

    one way to do this is, in the Initialize event of the field in second repeating section, assign the rawValue from the first repeating section..
    For example..
    initialize event of Field2..
         Field2.rawValue = Field1.rawValue;
    Other way is to read the XML tags and assign the value to the fields..
    You need to loop thru the group element and read each group item value and assign the value to the field..
    Field2.rawValue = xfa.resolveNode("$record.group.groupItem").value; //this command will only read the first occurance of the groupItem value.
    Thanks

  • If I use a sound clip in the multi-track editor multiple times; is there a way to reverse the clip w

    If I use a sound clip in the multi-track editor multiple times; is there a way to reverse the clip without change all the instances where the clip was used in the same multi-track session?
    I'm having to copy the clip rename it as clipreverses.wav then bring it back into audition to use it.
    Sony Vagas you can flip the same clip on a different track with a right click and not affect any other copies of that clip.

    Not that I'm aware of, no. You can easily make a unique copy of a clip (right-click on it, and you get it already saved for you), and I'd say that having this was more flexible in one way, at least, as you could then time-stretch it if you wanted to, without altering all other instances of it. Not saying that there wouldn't be any point in having a reverse-play option - I can see instances where it might be useful. It's just that it's not exactly difficult to achieve this anyway, which is probably why I don't ever recall a request for it!

  • Creating a Netinstall from multiple CDs

    Hi,
    Is it possible to create a Netinstall image from multiple CDs ? I want to create Netinstall images that are made up of the 2-CD sets that come with new machines.
    If it is possible, how do I do it ?
    Thanks.

    You have to mount the hidden disk image stored on the USB drive.

  • Splitting playlist across multiple CDs

    Hi there,
    according to the itunes help file, it says that when a playlist is too big to burn onto one CD it splits it across multiple CDs. however whenever it completes part of the playlist and then asks for a blank CD, it begins to burn exactly the same thing that it did on the previous one without going onto the remaining songs. is there something that i've set incorrectly?
    thanks

    Don't trust that feature. Split your big list into separate playlists, making sure that each one is under 80 minutes playing time. Then burn them individually. (I assume it is audio CDs that you are burning.)

  • Import multiple CDs into i tunes ?

    I am new to i tunes and yesterday purchased a (2cd)album from i tunes all ok.
    I am trying to import one of my own albums that also has 2 CDs. Can someone give advise as to how i get "all" tracks from the 2 CDs onto the one album.Hope i have explained this ok as at the moment when i put the 2 CDs in one after the other they create 2 albums.
    Thanks
    Dellboy22

    I hope i am explaining this correctly but here goes.
    I notice on the screen print that you provided along the top it shows top left as follows, artwork,name,disk,track,artist,album.
    Mine shows-name,time,artist.genre.
    When i open i-tunes and click on music i get my albums but "TWO" albums of the same, one with tracks 1-12 and the other with tracks 1-17.
    I am still confused as to how i get to open "music" and just see the one album but with all the tracks of both CDs on it.
    Thanks for your patience.

  • HT3814 how do i get itunes to keep track info on cds i burn from my itunes library?

    how do i get itunes to keep track info on cds i burn in itunes?

    Audio CDs do not contain track information. For commercial CDs this information is supplied by the Gracenote service (see below).  Each computer gets this information for a particular CD from this service, it isn't on the CD.  You would have to register your CD with Gracenote.  In my opinion this is a bit much for a personal CD that only a few computers in the world will ever see, but I guess unless they block it then you can do it.
