Repetitive and other manufacturing concepts

Good day to you all,
Can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction on where I can find a comparison or even an introduction to the different types of Produciton that PP supports (I am aware of the Repetitive Manufacturing information on SAP)
I would ideally like to know what is available and the general information (just like the intro to Rep Manufacturing.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Hall,
These are diffrences between REM/Discreate/ and Process manufacturing.
<i><b>REM:</b></i>
Production is based on the planned orders.
Planning and manufacturing is based on period wise.
Normally single products being manufactured for a longer period of time.
Normally production are carried out on a single production line (repetitively).
Product costing and settlement is done through product cost collector.
Planned orders are known as Run schedule quantities. Means quantity which is being manufactured in a certain period.
Planned orders are sufficient to carry out production at shop floor area.
Master data includes production version, product cost collector and rate routing.
Materials will be issued anonymously to production lines means without reference to planned orders.
<i><b>Discreate:</b></i>
Production based on the production orders
Planning and manufacturing depends on production orders.
Products changed frequently.
Production is carried out on different production lines (scattered- discrete).
Product costing and settlement is done through production orders.
Planned orders are stock type later converted into production orders.
Production orders are required.
Production version and product cost collector are not mandatory.
Materials will be issued always with reference to production orders.
Master Data includes Routings and BOMs.
<i><b>PROCESS:</b></i>
1) Batch Oriented process manufacturing.
2) Process order based manufacturing.you copy the process described in a master recipe and adjust it to the actual production run.
3) It is primarily designed for the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries as well as the batch-oriented electronics industry.
4)The integrated planning of production, waste disposal, and transport activities within a plant.
5) Master Data includes Master Recipes and resources.
6) Process Management:In this area, you coordinate the communication between PP-PI and process control during the execution of a process order.
If helps rewards points and close this thread.

  • Birthday calendar bizarre repetitions and other issues

    I have the STRANGEST things happening with birthdays on both my iPhone (5, 32GB, white, iOS 6) and iPad (32GB, iOS 6, white).
    I'm posting it here in the iPhone forum, assuming more people may be able to help.
    First of all, I sync a Google Apps calendar with my iPhone and iPad via CalDAV. I also sync my Google Contacts with my address book (including birthdays), which syncs via my MacBook on OS 10.6.8 using the sync icon in the system tray. (I hesitate to call it MobileMe, even though that's what the System Preferences calls it, because it really has nothing to do with MobileMe -- it does not sync via MobileMe [I do not have an account], it just syncs my Address Book with Google with my phone or iPad when hooked up. It is through a WIRED connection that it does the final sync to the device.)
    So, my birthdays from my address/contact books and my Google contacts DO sync and they DO show up on both my iOS devices in the fancy Birthday calendar with the cute cake symbol, as well as in my Google calendar.
    NOW HERE'S THE CRAZY PARTS.
    Sometime recently, my birthdays were getting repeated. But oddly, enough they are a different amount on the two iOS devices. I have 18 copies of all birthdays (on the same day) in my iPhone calendar and 68 (YES, SIXTY-EIGHT COPIES) in my iPad of every birthday.
    My Google calendar shows NO SUCH ERRONEOUS copies.
    The crazier thing is that the copies of the birthdays are NOT on the birthday calendar. In fact, IT'S AS IF THEY JUMP AROUND ON DIFFERENT CALENDARS. They show up all one color, but some random color. They will appear or disappear only SOMETIMES if I turn "off" some calendars or others (for example, once they would go away if I hid a "Personal" calendar, another if I hid a calendar I subscribe to via Google but sync via CalDAV from Weather Underground, and another calendar that is a Google calendar but also my "default calendar" in the iOS settings). And this is all within minutes.
    When I go into an instance of the repeated calendar event, it will actually say it belongs to my default calendar, regardless of what was hiding or showing it before.
    When I try to "edit" the birthday just to see what happens, it crashes the app.
    WHAT. THE. ______???
    Here's what already I've tried:
    Searching the internet for someone with a similar problem. NADA.
    Turning off the option to sync my Google birthday calendar via the Google sync page (I think it's actually unnecessary anyway, since iOS pulls from the contact book, anyway). That did nothing.
    Hiding all calendars and then selecting them to show one at a time to figure out which calendar was causing the problem, but as I mentioned above, it is not consistent.
    Re-syncing my devices with iTunes.
    Searching for and merging duplicate contacts in Google contacts.
    Turning off the iOS birthday calendar.
    Killing and re-starting the calendar app.
    Re-starting my iOS devices.
    Re-syncing my contact book with my devices.
    Someone. Please. Tell me you're having this problem and that you have the solution? I'm going crazy over here! I can't remember anything that may have triggered this to happen.

    I figured it out! (Or at least, it's been fixed for a day on both my iPad and iPhone.)
    By the way, I discovered more oddities, but I'm not going to even bother with describing them.)
    I am assuming everyone here has been syncing their birthday calendar off of Google/Gmail (whether CalDAV or Exchange, it doesn't matter).
    The key to this is to know three things:
    A) Tgara was on to something: syncing the Google birthday calendar in your Google sync settings -- even though it does not show up in your calendar list on the iphone/ipad -- is the culprit.
    B) BUT, simply un-syncing will not make them go away unless you completely un-sync all your Google calendars. Once the repetitions get into your phone/iPad via they are kind of "stuck" there, and you've got to go back to the beginning to un-stick them for good.
    C) Thus, it may require some trial and error because I had to repeat this a couple times. I may no have the right order of operations, but this is my best recreation/guess.
    How I fixed it (I had to repeat a couple times for some reason):
    1) I'm debating whether you have to do this step (I think I did it on my iPhone, but not my iPad, and yet both worked), but it doesn't take long, so you could just to be safe: on your iOS device, Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars -- delete your Google calendar account.
    2) On your iOS device, go to the proper Google sync page to choose what calendars are available for syncing.
    For Exchange, go to: https://m.google.com/sync/settings/iconfig/device
    For CalDAV and Gmail/normal sync, go to: https://www.google.com/calendar/b/0/iphoneselect
    For Google Apps CalDAV (although it worked for me on the normal page above), go to: https://www.google.com/calendar/hosted/yourhosteddomain.com/iphoneselect
    If you're not sure which method you use, do both of them.
    3) Sign in and choose the device in question (if prompted) and then uncheck ALL the calendars. Save/apply.
    4) Go to calendar app. You should have an On my iPhone or On my iPad calendar and the iOS birthday calendar. Ensure that no repetitions are seen when you check mark each calendar idividually and also collectively to be visible. If there are, repeat the steps above.
    5) Once the repetitions are gone, go to your iOS settings and add the calendar account back in if you removed it in step one.
    6) Go back to the calendar app. Again, you will have two calendars -- one default Google calendar and one ios birthday calendar. Turn on each one at a time and also together to make sure the repetitions are gone. If they are not, repeat the above again.
    7) Once they are gone, go back to the Google sync page(s) and add all the calendars you want back, BUT DO NOT SELECT YOUR BIRTHDAY CALENDAR. Save/apply.
    8) Go to the calendar app. Open up the calendar list. Wait for it to refresh. Now you should be able to turn on all your calendars you wish to see, wait for it to propagate, and confirm there are no copies. If there are copies, repeat all the steps!
    YOU DO NOT need to erase your contacts. Not sure about iGust's work-around, but that's unnecessary. And christina44, I actually think this is a different problem. All my copies were on the correct date.

  • Difference between Repetitive and Descreet manufacturig

    Hi All,
    Can anybody please explain me the difference between repetitive and descreet manufacturing with example. Also how does it effects routing/bom.
    Thanks

    Hi
    Difference between discrete and repetitive manufactruring is quite simple so in discrete you usually make products witch are make to order type like air craft industry. Discrerte manufacturing is usually for orderbound production.
    In repetivive manufacturing usually products are more likely make to stock type like in cosmetics or ice cream factory.
    Production order based
    1. Production in individual production orders
    2. Product change frequently
    3. Complex process sicnce the sequence of work centers is varying
    4. There was no storage location for semi product, there are always put into interim storage
    5. Components will always reference to order
    6.There will have status prosesing for each order in each transaction
    7. Order confirmation must be carry out for each production order otherwise it remain in WIP.
    8. Order based cost controlling
    While for repetitive manufacturing
    1. Production on period based
    2. Product produced unchanged over a longer period of time
    3. Simplify process sicnce product produce unchanged
    4. Semifinish product post into own storage location
    5. componnet are stage at each production lines
    6. Reduce control effort (no status procedure)
    7. Period based backflush
    8. Period base cost controlling
    I hope this answers your question.

  • Repetitive or Process Manufacturing?

    Dear all,
    I've visited a factory that produces "Calcium Carbonate", all they have are production lines with rates and a big mill that feeds its output into these production lines.
    I don't know whether they should be using repetitive or process manufacturing?
    Can you help and declare why and tell me the difference?
    thank you

    HI,
    As Amol said, it's a high level decision to decide on REM or PE.
    Pl. anayse the AS IS BUSINESS PROCESS of the Industry. As you indicated 'Calcium Carbonate' manufacturing is a chemical industry, you may have to go for PI, but you have to maintain Batch Management and cost controlling based on Process orders.
    If it's being done on production line and rate routings, the cost controlling will be done based on Product cost collector.
    Even it takes time pl. go through the following link, understand the concept and decide. This will help in the long run.

  • Difference between repetative manufacturing and discreate manufacturing

    Hi,
    Guru's
    What is the difference between repetative manufacturing and discreate manufacturing in product costing.

    Dear Manish,
    Repetitive Manufacturing
    In repetitive manufacturing, master plans are typically created on a period and quantity basis (reduction in individual lot and
    order-specific processing). A quantity of one product is manufactured over a certain period. The product is processed in a constant flow and interim products are generally not stocked. In repetitive manufacturing, you usually find that the effort required for production control is significantly less than is required for single lot and order-based production control and the recording of actual data is kept simpler. Repetitive manufacturing can be used for various industries, such as the
    consumer packaged goods industry, the electronic industry, packaging industry, for example.
    You can use Repetitive Manufacturing purely for make-to-stock production, or in a sales order-oriented environment, such as found in the automotive industry.
    Discrete Manufacturing
    Discrete manufacturing is characterized by requirements that occur on an irregular basis and a workshop-oriented process.
    The Discrete Manufacturing scenario can be used in different variants, production by lot size, make-to-order production and assembly processing. The variants differ mainly in the type of planning conducted before-hand and in the relation to the sales order. Production by lot size is identified by the grouping of requirements into lots during requirements planning, and by planning with existing basic data. Production by lot size is independent of a particular sales order. Make-to-order production describes the production of a material with reference to a particular sales order. The manufactured quantities are managed, in terms of stock, directly for the individual sales order. They cannot be exchanged with the stock of other sales orders. Starting from the sales order, single-item planning can be allowed as far down the bill of material (BOM) structure as you like. Assemblies and
    components can also be procured for the sales order that generates the requirements, and managed in stock for this sales order. If the product is a configurable product, the system chooses a variant for the customer based on the characteristics that he or she selects. A sales order BOM can then be generated for the sales order. This BOM is used to produce the product.
    Assembly processing is a form of make-to-order production, in which the production order (assembly order) is created together with the sales order. In assembly processing the components for the product have, in general, already been produced. They only need to be assembled. The advantage of assembly processing is that an availability check is carried out for the components when you create the sales order. This increases the reliability with which dates can be confirmed
    considerably. Changes to the sales order are automatically also made in the production order and vice-versa.
    And also you can follow the below link to know more about REPITITIVE MANUFACTURING its a pdf document from help.sap.com
    http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/print46c/en/data/pdf/PPREM/PPREM.pdf
    One More Example
    Repetive is usually a continuos flow, good example is making 5000 tv dinners you know how long it takes to make qty1 very little defects or fall out and you always have everything on hand to start the run, you may also make the same run 2-3 times per month so a cost collector is ok all cost go to top level.
    Discreet, You do have falls out reworks and move into production missing materials, long lead time its essential to know what and where it is at in production, cost may vary a little but each production order will be costed independantly for review.

  • N8 poor signal reception and other hardware issues...

    I have always been a Nokia fan . I started with Nokia 6600, then N70, then N82 and now a Nokia N8.
    However, I am facing the worst experience with N8 reception issues.
    The problems faced are as under :
    1) Poor Signal Reception Issues - Signal strength is weak and is constantly fluctuating compared to other Nokia Phones. At my workplace, if Nokia N82 displays 5 bars, N8 would display only 1 or 2 bars.
    2) Phone freezes many times. Whenever an Alarm is enabled, phone freezed much more.
    3) Purple Tint in the display. Nokia Service Centre says that its normal but according to me, they are just ignoring this issue.
    4) Vibration is weak : I often do not realize when the phone is vibrating in my pocket !!
    Upcoming Symbian Anna will just improve the user interface but will not be able to solve these hardware issues.
    If Nokia plans a hardware update facility for N8 users wherein they can fix the signal reception issues and increase the RAM to 1 GB atleast, I would retain this phone for few years.
    But, now, I intend to switch to Samsung Galaxy S II.
    Your views solicited.

    I am agree with poor signal issue with nokia N8. I have two cell with one is N8 and other one is N26 with nearly 4.5 year old but at same place Nokia N8 showing very poor quality of network signal compared to N26. So for same network provider with two different cell with same manufacture how can drastic different that is also investing nearly RS.22000!
    Please resolve the issue ASAP.

  • At new and At last Concept

    Hi All,
    Is their any Possibilities to use AT LAST and AT NEW Concepts in WebDynpro ABAP.
    Plz Give me the solution with an Example
    Regards,
    Vimalraj

    Hi  Vimalraj,
    yes you can use at new and at last as you would use in normal abap....
    lets say i have a context node called: TABLE_NODE
    and this node has two attributes, name: field1 and field2.... field1 is of type char and field2 is of type p.
    table_node
    >field1
    >field2
    and a context node called : TOTAL with an attribute "VALUE".  value is of type p.
    total
    >value
    now i am interested in doing the sum for field2 and display that sum on my view....the ui element which is bound to my node "total"  attribute "value".  And also i am only interested in the sum of field value "A"...pls see code below.
    so here is the code:
    DATA lo_nd_table_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
      DATA lo_el_table_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
      DATA ls_table_node TYPE wd_this->element_table_node.
      DATA lt_table_node TYPE wd_this->elements_table_node.
    navigate from <CONTEXT> to <TABLE_NODE> via lead selection
      lo_nd_table_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_table_node ).
      lo_nd_table_node->get_static_attributes_table(
      IMPORTING
      table = lt_table_node ).
      ls_table_node-field1 = 'A'.
      ls_table_node-field2 = '1.0'.
      APPEND ls_table_node TO lt_table_node.
      ls_table_node-field1 = 'A'.
      ls_table_node-field2 = '2.0'.
      APPEND ls_table_node TO lt_table_node.
      ls_table_node-field1 = 'B'.
      ls_table_node-field2 = '5.0'.
      APPEND ls_table_node TO lt_table_node.
      ls_table_node-field1 = 'B'.
      ls_table_node-field2 = '2.0'.
      APPEND ls_table_node TO lt_table_node.
      DATA lo_nd_total TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
      DATA lo_el_total TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
      DATA ls_total TYPE wd_this->element_total.
      DATA lv_value LIKE ls_total-value.
    navigate from <CONTEXT> to <TOTAL> via lead selection
      lo_nd_total = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_total ).
    get element via lead selection
      lo_el_total = lo_nd_total->get_element(  ).
    get single attribute
      lo_el_total->get_attribute(
        EXPORTING
          name =  `VALUE`
        IMPORTING
          value = lv_value ).
      LOOP AT lt_table_node INTO ls_table_node.
        AT NEW field1.
          SUM.
          IF ls_table_node-field1 = 'A'.
            lv_value = ls_table_node-field2.   "at this point lv_value will be 3...
          ENDIF.
        ENDAT.
        lo_nd_table_node->bind_table( lt_table_node ).
      ENDLOOP.
    get single attribute
      lo_el_total->set_attribute(
        EXPORTING
          name =  `VALUE`
          value = lv_value ).
    that is all....similarly we can use at last.....
    hope this helps...

  • Problems with stuck/dead pixels, battery life, ICS, and other problems

    Stuck/Dead Pixels:
    I bought my Droid Razr at around the 21st of December last year. On or around Christmas, I found a bright red pixel on the very bottom of my screen. Unlucky for me, I was leaving for Florida on Christmas Night. I got back on December 31st. Sometime in the first week of this year, I visited my verizon store and told the customer service lady that I had a dead pixel on my screen and had just bought it. But, she told me that she needed the manager to fix this and there was no manager there. For the next week I was busy with school and sports etc and was not able to go back to the store. It was now past my 14 day return period. So I decided, its only one pixel, most people won't notice it anyway. So here I am 5 months later, just starting to discover more pixels dying on my screen. I now have the one bright red one, two light blue ones, and one dark red. I have no idea what the return policy is on defective phones, and the verizon site is designed so that you can't find anything. And an FYI, I have tried stuck pixel removers and other apps, which  haven't been successful.
    Battery Life:
    I have also been finding more problems with my phone. The battery life is terrible when 4G and even 3G are on. I actually see no difference in battery consumption between 3G/4G.  My battery dies  about 4-5X faster when data is turned on, compared to using no data. I know it isn't because of the apps I installed since when I use WiFi, the battery is alright. I also make sure that my RAM isn't above 400MB, so that the processor doesn't use a lot of battery. I feel like I completely wasted my money buying the Razr. Mainly because of the fact that the Razr Maxx was announced two weeks later, which has about 80% more battery. Not only this, but I've seen the Razr selling for only ONE PENNY on amazon over the past month and it still is. I payed $300 on my Razr.
    Ice Cream Sandwich:
    After these major problems comes another one, that I bet all Razr and Razr Maxx customers are still thinking about. When will I get Ice Cream Sandwich? It is very disappointing when you are told that you will be getting an upgrade in early 2012, and are still wondering where your upgrade is 5 full months in. From what I understand, we won't see an upgrade until the end of June, since Motorola has posted on their website that "rollouts" would begin in the second quarter. Even if they release it by the end of June, when will it get to your phone? Maybe another week or two for some people. This is another thing that I feel I wasted my money on. My brother told me to get the Nexus because of ICS, but I trusted Motorola that they would upgrade my phone in a timely manner. WRONG.
    Phone Freezing:
    One more problem that I've had is that the phone will freeze. Usually you only need to turn the screen off and on, but once in a while, you have to completely reboot your phone. When I was coming back from Florida, right as I was about to get home, my phone completely froze. I was about to go return it, but after about 15-20 minutes, it became unfrozen.
    Motion Sensor not functioning:
    Another problem, an annoying one, is that sometimes the motion sensor that controls portrait and landscape mode will just stop working. Some of the games I play are completely dependent on the motion sensor. It is very embarrassing  when you are trying to show off to an iPhone friend and major components of your phone aren't working. They always tell me "why didn't you get an iPhone?". And I really just wanted to have a phone that didn't look like everyone else's, but I guess that comes at a cost. When the motion sensor stops working, I have to shut down my phone and restart, which takes a couple minutes.
    Problems with camera:
    My last problem would be with the camera. Sometimes if you bring the camera close to something, like a barcode, it will keep trying to focus, but never will. Another problem is photo quality in low light situations. It seems like the camera can't focus because it goes from being very dark into being bright because of the flash. I doubt this can be fixed because it's hardware, but a potential fix could be having the option to keep the LED light on during picture mode, that way the camera will be able to focus correctly.
    In Conclusion:
    I really just want someone to tell me how to return my phone for a new one, due to the dead pixels. I also wish I could be upgraded to the Razr Maxx because of the poor battery life on the Razr, but from what other people are saying, that probably won't happen. And finally, if anyone has more info about Ice Cream Sandwich, that would be awesome.

    Well since it's a Manufacturing Error it should Fall under your Warranty if you got one with your Razr. You know you can Call C.S. an they can Assist you with the Matter on it.. Just remember to have another phone so they can Trouble shoot the One that is Experiencing the Issue an when you talk to them go over thing. An they should send you C.G.A.N unless they request you to send it in before you get anther one. If you feel Better going to the Store try that. And Good Luck..

  • My location service is not working from the day one the response is that (cannot able to determine the location) .What can i need to do to see my location in maps and other application even the location services is enabled in the settings?

    From the day one the response is that (cannot able to determine the location) while using ios5.1 .What can i need to do to see my location in maps and other application even the location services is enabled in the settings?.Which means that is there is any problem in my ipad ? currently running on IOS 6.

    Your location is determined from a location database which contains the MAC addresses of routers and their physical location. A MAC address is a unique number which is built-in to all network devices when manufactured. The database is built and updated by actually driving around and mapping router locations.
    Since you just moved the location of your router has not been updated in the database and when you use Maps you will see your old location.
    If you go outside your house you can be correctly located because your iPod sees other routers which are in the location database. Note that you do not need to be connected to a router for your iPod to see it and obtain its MAC address.

  • Appearance of iWeb 2.0.2 pages in Safari and other browsers

    I guess this question has been posted several times before because I can't find the relevant search terms to limit the number of answers to a reasonable count. Thus, sorry for the repetition (if so).
    Is there a way to amend the appearance problems of iWeb 2.0.2 pages in Safari and other browsers?
    Problems are:
    Safari: color management (?) - take a look at this site: http://shivaduo.jan-groh.de - Text and frame were created with exactly the same web safe color (990033), but they differ a lot.
    Firefox 2..., IE 6, Camino 1.5, Shiira: no shadows, (some) no reflections, (all) horizontally broken lines in reflections of frames, (Windows) fonts (Trebuchet MS) get changed (worked perfectly before with iWeb 1... on exactly the same computer).
    Is there any remedy to this aestheical disaster (which was the main reason for me to switch to iLife '08)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rosember

  • What are the differences between Oracle and other NoSQL database

    Hi all,
    I would like to know what the differences between Oracle and other NoSQL database are.
    When and why should we use Oracle?
    Is Oracle NoSQL database link with Big Data Appliance?
    Can we use map-reduce on a single personal computer? How should we install Oracle NoSQL database to use map reduce on a single personal computer?
    Do we also have eventual consistency with Oracle NoSQL database? Can we lose data if master node fails?
    Are transactions ACID with Oracle NoSQL database? How can we prove it?
    Thanks.

    Hi all,
    I would like to know what the differences between Oracle and other NoSQL database are.
    When and why should we use Oracle?I suggest that you start here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/nosqldb/overview/index.html
    Is Oracle NoSQL database link with Big Data Appliance?Yes, Oracle NoSQL Database will be a component of the Big Data Appliance.
    Can we use map-reduce on a single personal computer? How should we install Oracle NoSQL database to use map reduce on a single personal computer?Yes, I believe you can run M/R on a single computer. Consult the various pieces of documentation available on the web. You may run Oracle NoSQL Database on the same computer that you are running M/R on, but it is likely that they will compete for CPU and IO resources and therefore performance may suffer.
    Do we also have eventual consistency with Oracle NoSQL database? Yes.
    Can we lose data if master node fails?If you run Oracle NoSQL Database with the default (recommended) durability settings, then if the master fails, a new one will be elected and data is not lost.
    Are transactions ACID with Oracle NoSQL database? How can we prove it?Yes, each operation is executed in an ACID transaction. The API has the concept of "multi" operations which allow the caller to perform multiple operations on sets of records with the same major key, but different minor keys. Those operations are also performed within a transaction.

  • When buying a new comp. Its safe to have same VGA and Mobo manufacturer!

    This eliminates any incompatibilities or conflicts. I noticed ALL of the posters i read with lockup or freezing, artifacting problems have different makers. We think its a Bios issue. That's when we start changing the Bios. In all probability it's not the Bios. Messing around with Bios can be fatal. Of course other issues like PSU rating are valid issues.

    Problems can and will exist in any configuration regardless who the manufacturers are. Don't get caught up in the mindset that if you buy all your parts from the same manufacturer that everything will plug and play.
    Many cases, it user error or misconfiguration, and other cases it's simply bad hardware. And other cases it plain incompatibility for whatever reason.
    But generally speaking, everything (provided you are not putting a round in a square) should work together. It is extremely rare when components don't work together in general. Keep in mind that most VGA manufacturers must stick to a tightly defined set of guidelines in order to insure that things do work properly. Many manufacturers also just source the cards directly from AMD/ATI or nVidia and make simple modifications such as fans/heatsinks & branding.
    You would get the same card from Asus, or Abit that you would from MSI, the only difference is the cooler and some stickers. there are others that go to the extreme and hand pick the chipsets and memory for top performance.
